Chapter 81: Culture Festival Time!
After bonding with Tensei things had gotten somewhat slow. While those that did work studies had to catch up much of their school work. They still got used to things. Izuku did try out Tensei's quirk which he found to be slightly easier to use than Tenya's.
Tenya thankfully didn't take offense.
That wasn't the only change as Izuku got his new costume.
HE visor and bomb making stuff couldn't be incorporated with his DNA but his clothes, gloves and shoes were brand new and could be used his Mirio's quirk.
"So you're really going to use the quirk?" asked Katsuki.
"It's a good one for defense." Said Izuku, "There's a lot of draw backs like being deaf and unable to breathe but Mirio's been helping me."
"Wait isn't he blind when he uses his quirk?" asked Katsuki.
"It turns out it's psychosomatic." Said Izuku.
"What?": asked Katsuki.
(Flashback)
"You can see when you use my quirk around your eyes?" asked Mirio.
"I don't…" said Izuku, "That's why…"
"What's why?" asked Mirio.
"It's because you think that you should be blind that you can't see and it created a psychosomatic effect." Said Izuku, "Light still affects you… and still hits your eyes."
"Wait… how do you know light still affects me?" asked Mirio.
Izuku gave her the answer and Mirio face palmed realized Izuku was right.
(End of Flashback)
"It's because light still affects him isn't it?" asked Toru joining the conversation.
"Yeah." Said Izuku.
"That's been bugging me too!" said Toru.
"Why would it bug you?" asked Katsuki.
"Because if light didn't affect him he would be invisible."
said Toru, "There's some invisibly quirks that have the side effect of being blind."
"Oh…" said Katsuki.
That was when Toru realized something.
"Wait have you tried using my quirk yet?" asked Toru.
"Why?" asked Izuku.
"I was thinking it might trigger your new costume." Said Toru.
Izuku's eyes widened.
"I haven't yet." Said Izuku.
And so the first time since the turning camp he activated her quirk.
And except for the floating visor and bomb making stuff completely disappeared.
"No way!" said Toru.
"It works!" said Izuku surprised.
"So jealous!" said Toru.
Izuku reappeared along with his costume.
"I'm going to be sticking to my animal from when it comes to stealth though." Said Izuku.
"Can't blame you." Laughed Toru, "You trained with that for years."
However that wasn't the only thing…
Toshinori still training during her free time. So she could awaken Float.
Ad of curse soon it would happen.
Thanks to what Nana told him about her quirk he knew what to do… it was unlock it was the problem.
And of course it soon happened.
She ground herself floating.
As she was doing this outside of Magical Girl to get it just right, when she landed she knew what she had to do.
Once she transformed she knew right away she could summon Nana.
And so he gained his fourth mascot. Which was a rather fluffy black one.
"Nana!" cried Toshinori.
She gently grabbed the tiny mascot and held it to her.
"Hi Toshi." Said Nana.
Toshinori started to cry as she held her mentor and mascot in her hands.
"I'm so sorry!" cried Toshinori.
"Toshi…" whispered Nana realizing there was a lot Toshinori was carrying since her death…
"If I was just stronger then maybe you wouldn't have died and if I hadn't listened to you…" cried Toshi.
Nana sighed.
"I chose to fight All for One." Said Nana, "Not only that but I told you and Torino not to find Kotaro… you hold no blame for any of this!"
"But…" said Toshinori.
"No buts… everything was my doing… stop thinking about that… please…" said Nana.
Toshinori sighed and Nana pouted a little knowing it was would be a while for Toshinori to stop thinking about that.
"Besides… I know you've your dream… and I'm so proud of you." Said Nana.
Toshinori still cried… however this time it was because of Nana's kind words and not because of anything else.
Though once Toshinori stopped crying the two had this conversation.
"You know you have to tell Sora about me." Said Nana.
"I know… and I'm scared." Said Toshinori, "Not about telling him about you… that he missed the drama involving Mirai's confession."
Nan just sweat dropped at that.
"I have been able to gather what's going on with that… but really?" asked Nana.
"Yeah… I don't think he gets much entertainment." Said Toshinori.
Nana just sweat dropped some more.
Though of course Nana did want to see something because unlike En or Daigoro she wanted to see what sort of costume the magical girl powers would create, after all she was at point a little girl who watched Magical Girl shows…
The costume consider o a black top, a red skirt, yellow gloves, white boots and a sparkly white cape.
"I should have known my back cape would be a skirt." Laughed Nana, "I do like the sparkles in my main cape though."
Toshinori laughed at that.
Toshinori knew that the other three quirks would come to her, but unlike Nana she would let them come as they come.
Of course they still had school and it was a normal morning with Mina showing off her break dancing skills.
They were extremely impressive.
She was able to do highly skilled moves including flips and spins.
Though the only complaint was from Mineta as she was smartly wearing shorts under her skirt.
"What did you say!" yelled Katsuki hearing as Toru began to smack him for what he said.
"I didn't mean it like that." Said Mineta crying.
"I'm not bonding with him." Sighed Izuku.
Katsuki pouted at that.
"Still it's very impressive. She's able to common d her body into her dancing." Said Izuku, "No way I could do something like that."
"Oh come on! You won't know until you try." Said Mina.
"It's better if I don't." said Izuku.
"Drop it Racoon Eyes." Said Katsuki.
Mina slowly approached Ochaco.
"You're not using me to get an embracing story from my boyfriend." Said Ochaco.
Mina pouted and went right back into dancing.
Though at the same time Kaminari did talk to Jiro about her hobby though it didn't turn out well.
However when class began Aizawa announced something.
"It's school festival time." Said Aizawa.
The class was surprised.
"Regular School Activity!" said most of the class shocked.
But then everyone was excited for it…
Well almost everyone… because there was one students who against it.
"Are you sure this is a good idea?" asked Kirishima, "There's so much going on!"
Almost everyone was shocked by this, though someone did agree with him.
Though Aizawa had a counter point.
"It's a good point but remember it's not just the hero course. There are the other courses and unlike the sports festival where the Hero Course shines, this is for the whole school. This doesn't gain the amount of attention but it's fun. Not to mention the dorm system has made everything example stressful." He explained.
"When you put it that way…" said Kirishima .
"Also it's going to be different than years past in that the festival will just be students, staff a small select group of outsiders." Said Aizawa.
And so it Tenya and Yaoyorozu took charge due to their status.
"All right! We'll be taking suggestions." Said Tenya, "If you have an idea raise your hand."
Everyone raised their hands and shouted much to the two class reps surprise.
"All right Kaminari" said Tenya once they recovered.
"A maid café!" said Kaminari.
"All right…" said Tenya who seemed a bit irritated.
No could blame her knowing she would be one of the maids.
"Mineta." Said Tenya.
"You're thinking too small!" said Mineta, "A STRIP CL…"
But he could finished is sentence Tsuyu managed to transform, beat him up, tie him up and handing from the ceiling.
"Ochaco…" said Tenya.
"A mochi stand!" said Ochaco.
And of course everyone started to give their ideas.
Though many of them made no sense like Tokoyami's "Mad Baquet of Darkness" or just illegal like Katsuki's idea for a Deathmatch. But most were fun like Mina's suggestion of a dance or Koda's idea for a petting zoo.
But soon enough everyone gave an idea.
"All right I think we can get rid of the ones that unfeasible and don't make any sense." Said Yaoyorozu erasing Katsuki, Mineta and Tokoyami's suggestions as well as Aoyama's which was some sort of show he would be put on…
Of course the other members of the class all pointed out other ideas to get rid of.
One that got complaints which was Hometown History Presentation…
Which was Tenya's idea needless to say she was disappointed that most of the class was against.
They were also against Yaoyorozu's idea which was a study party.
"We do study parties all the time." Said someone in the crowd.
"I just wanted to help." Sighed Yaoyorozu.
Of course after that point everything got hectic and everyone started to argue.
However it wasn't decided by the end of homeroom unfortunately.
Which is why Aizawa (who was taking a nap during all this) was irritated.
"You have to decide by tomorrow morning because if not you're doing a regular class open house." Said Aizawa.
That night however the class was going through ideas, though those who did work studies were missing from the meeting due to catch up classes. Though they gave their approval.
"Wait weren't you four in the raid?" asked Kaminari.
"It was a special request and not part of work studies." Said Tenya.
"Magical girl shit." Said Katsuki.
"Yep!" said Toru with Shoto nodding.
"Mr. Aiwa said that all of the other courses were stressed out. Whatever we have planned has to defuse the stress." Said Tenya.
"I have to agree. If we ever have to become heroes we hope to become heroes we should help with something we had a hand in." said Yaoyorozu.
"On that note I think we should get of anything to do with food since everyone is so used to eat Lunch Rush's cooking." Said Tenya.
Though there was some disappointed that there was no food stand.
"I think we should provide some kind of service." Said Tenya.
"He's right, we can't be the only ones having fun." Said Shoji.
They all went through the various idea putting down Koda's idea of a petting zoo due to health and safety reasons. Also Jiro's idea of open mic comedy was put down due to putting amateur performers on the spot.
"Maybe we can just dance." Said Mina.
"That might be a good idea." Said Shoto, "Like some sort of show…"
"Wait seriously?" asked Sato.
"What made you think of that?" asked Sato
"I've been looking into hobbies and other things online." Said Shoto.
"Good, you really need something like that." Said Sato with a sweat drop.
"I see." Said Tenya liking the idea of some kind of show.
"Isn't that a bad idea putting amateur performers on the spot." Said Sero.
"I can teach everyone, I taught Aoyama how to dance today." Said Mina.
It was indeed true during her demonstration somehow it turned into a lesson for Aoyama.
"What about music!" yelled Mineta.
"I have the perfect idea!" said Toru, "Jiro should do it."
"What?" asked Jiro blushing shocked.
"A live performance with instruments!" said Toru..
"Hold on a second!" said Jiro.
"Why not! You're a really good teacher!" said Toru who had started taking guitar lessons from Jiro, "You're an amazing at teaching how to play!"
Jiro became really nervous…
"But like Ashido and the rest of you… my hobby doesn't connect with my ability to be a hero." She said rather nervously, "It's to something I can be proud of."
"So that's what that was!" said Kaminari.
He reassured it was fine with Koda reassuring her as well.
Yaoyorozu stepped in telling them it was her choice, but Jiro agreed to it.
Everyone cheered as the plan for the festival was set!
But of course there would be plenty of more planning, after all there were a lot of roles.
Next Time: There's still a lot of prep for the festival, namely who does what for the performance... who will do what. Also Kirishima realized something during everything with during the raid and finally works up the courage to do it. What is it? Find out next time!
