Hermione ran up the stairs to get her coin purse, and then she ran back down the stairs to the fireplace. "Ok, winky I'm ready to go. You have the list for you and Dobby right?"
"Yes Missy Granger, Dobby gives Winky the list while you ran upstairs. I know we saids we didn't need anything, but we double checked and are out of some things." Winky grabbed a hold of Hermione's arm and apparated them to the middle of Diagon Alley. "Where too first Missy Granger?"
"Well, winky we need to go get me some new robes and then a few other errands. First things first though I suppose we need to go to Madam Malkin's robes for all occasions and see about getting me some new school robes." Hermione liked elf travel more than she did regular apparition.
Winky took Hermione and pulled her down the street towards the robe shop. "We do things much faster this way Missy Granger. Let Winky take the lead and we'll be home in no time."
Hermione let herself be pulled along and into Madam Malkins. She looked around and found the school robes. Grabbing several off the shelf she turned to Winky and held out her hands for the list of things the elves needs. There were no robes on the list, but it read fabrics for clothes, socks, and a list of things needed for the kitchen.
"Miss Granger, is that everything you need?" Madam Malkin saw Hermione standing in the middle of the floor.
"That's it for me Madam Malkin. However, my elves need some fabric to make clothes for themselves. Do you have anything they might like?" Hermione held out the list to Madam Malkin.
Madam Malkin took a look at the list and led Hermione and Winky to the corner of the shop. "These should work just fine for them. They're welcome to however many yards or bolts they would like."
"Winky dear, take a look at these bolts of fabric for you and dobby. Let me know which ones you would like and how much you need." Hermione pulled winky to the front so she could see the fabrics.
"Winky likes the Periwinkle, pink and emerald green. Dobby would like the bright blue, black and red. We needs 4 yards of each color." Winky pointed out which fabrics they needed and grabbed several pairs of elf socks that were on display.
Madam Malkin grabbed the colors needed and cut 4 yards of each color to put in a bag for the elves. "Here you go dear. I'll take this up to the register and you can leave when you're ready."
Hermione and winky nodded at Madam Malkin and followed her up to the register. She put the socks and the robes up on the counter as well. "This is it Madam Malkin. How much do I owe you?" Hermione pulled the coin purse out of her pockets.
"That's 50 galleons 20 knuts and 3 Sickles my dear for everything my dear. Here's your bags and have a wonderful day." Madam Malkin handed over the bags to Hermione.
Winky made the bags disappear to back home and they went on the wizarding bank. Hermione had to finalize the paperwork from Sirius's will.
"Oh, look Ron it's the mudblood and her elf. Maybe we can get her alone this school year and you can do things to her." Harry and Ron were up the street a bit at the bookshop.
Hermione didn't hear what they were saying, but Winky did. "You don't touch my Missy. Yous bad men yous is. She wants nothing to do with you two anymore." Winky was sticking up her Hermione.
"Gentlemen, excuse us. We have places to be." Hermione tried to get by without anything happening.
Ron didn't like that she ignored them and pulled his wand on her while her back was facing away. Winky didn't see it nor did Hermione, but Draco and his father were walking along and saw it. They may not think much of muggleborns, but at this moment Ron and Harry were lower on the food chain then even muggleborns.
"Father, we should do something. Her back is turned as is her elf's back." Draco pointed out what was happening to Lucius.
"Well, if it isn't the scum of the wizarding world, Potter and Weasley. It's improper manors to curse a lady behind her back. Didn't your pig of a mother ever teach you any manors or do you both just live in a pigsty? Or do you call it a hovel, I forget." Lucius pulled his wand on Ron and Harry. "All I need is one reason and you won't have a wand hand anymore."
Lucius turned to Hermione and Winky. "are you two ok?"
"Yes Mr. Malfoy. Thank you for stopping them, but I'm sure it won't be the last time they pull a stunt like this." Hermione bowed out. "Now if you will excuse us we have to get to Gringotts for some business.
"Go on ahead Ms. Granger. We'll take care of these two." Lucius and Draco parted so Hermione and Winky could get through.
Lucius did some sort of complicated wand movement and Harry and Ron fell over naked and tied together. "Now that should teach you not to talk to a lady like that."
Draco pulled his wand and a snake shot out the end of it on top of the two boys laying in the street. "Here's a companion for you two idiots. Maybe he's not hungry, but honestly he hasn't eaten for a bit.
The snake slithered around and was flicking its tongue in and out. "Massssterrr thessse twooo doooonntt smeeeell goooood." The snake slithered off the bodies and left them laying there.
Harry and Ron were so scared they had pissed themselves when the snake landed on them. They couldn't wait to get out of this bind. No one would be able to stop them at the next order meeting. Afterall it took place in Grimmauld place and that's where the mudblood now lived.
Hermione and Winky had gone on into the bank, so they didn't see any of this, but the daily prophet had. Hermione asked for the Black family's goblin. She had to get this transfer of property finalized today.
"Silvertooth," Gnarlack went down the hallway to find the goblin Hermione needed. "There Black heir has showed up. She's wanting to get things finalized."
"I am Silvertooth the black family goblin. I hear you want to finalize the transfer of property." Silvertooth smiled creepily at Hermione and Winky.
"Yes, I would prefer to get it done today so no one can contest the will. There are a few people mad at the way Sirius divided everything. I'd rather this go fast if you will." Hermione nodded at the goblins.
"Yes Miss Granger of course. Gnarlack will go and get the paperwork needed and we can discuss just what that entails." Silvertooth sat behind his desk and looked at the paperwork Gnarlack bought it. "It seems Miss Granger you have become very rich, very rich indeed. You've inherited everything in the black vault which includes a lot of jewelry, goblin made items and 9 properties all over the UK and some in the US. There is a recorded amount of 900 trillion galleons, 800 billion knuts and 300 thousand sickles. Does this seem right to you?"
Hermione was floored. She didn't realize Sirius was that well off. She knew he was rich, but she didn't know he was that wealthy. "Well, I didn't realize Mr. Black was that rich. I thought it was just a few hundred galleons, but your bank records would know better than I would sir. If that's what the bank records say then that is right. Just give me the papers and I will sign them all.'
Gnarlack handed over the deeds to each property and the paperwork for the vault Hermione signed them all and sat back to wait for the key to her new vault. She was going to have to update her wardrobe soon, but today was all about shopping for school supplies. Gnarlack handed Hermione the key, she thanked him and left the office.
Stepping over the witless wonders when she left was the highlight of her day, they were still tied up outside of the bank on the steps. The prophet reporter got a good picture of her stepping right over them and not giving anyone a second glance. She didn't feel the glares at her back from the two dimwits that were tied up. She went on down the street to the wand shop.
The door dinged when she stepped into the shop. "Miss Granger how may I help you today." Mr. Ollivander was there in front of the shop.
"My wand seems to be lost. I was hoping I could buy a backup wand to keep on me just in case of emergencies." Hermione looked around the shop. Winky had split off from her to go get the groceries but she'd back.
"Yes, yes. Your original wand 10 ¾ made of Vinewood with a dragon heartstring yes?" Mr. Ollivander remembered the exact make of Hermione's original wand.
"Yes, it was. I was hoping for something similar." Hermione looked around the shop to see if she could spot anything.
"Try this one Miss Granger." Mr. Ollivander went behind the counter and pulled out a black box. "This wand has been sitting here for a while just waiting for someone like you miss Granger. It's made of Blackthorn with a phoenix core. It's 12 ½ inches."
Hermione tried the wand Mr. Ollivander handed her. All of a sudden the air around her became cooler and her hair started blowing. The wand had chosen her. She could eventually do some damage with this wand to the next people who crossed her. She was going to go home and put it up.
"I'll take it Mr. Ollivander. Here's the 5 Galleons for it. I must be going to get my other school supplies." Hermione handed over the money to Mr. Ollivander. "Thank you again."
She left the store with her new wand and went down to restock her potion supplies. She added in some valerian root, bat wings, lace wing flies, moon dust, aconite and buboter pus. Moving over to look at the tools, she found a silver dagger with a moonstone and amethyst handle that she bought as well as a silver bowl. Once she paid at Slug and Jiggers she went down to the book shop.
Opening the door to Flourish and Blotts she handed her school list to one of the employees. "I need all these books for my sixth year please. I have somethings I'm looking for so if you could just sit them on the counter I will come up and pay when I'm done."
Hermione walked off to the back of the shop where they kept the books on blood and sex magic. The dark arts books were also kept back here. She picked up Secrets of the Darkest Arts, Black Magic for those in need, Blood Sex and Compulsion in Magic, and the final book she picked up was Blood Flesh and Bone Magic For the Dark Arts. She also picked up Soul Bonds and Other Magical Bindings. She walked back up to the front of the store to buy the books she'd chosen and the books that had been on her school list. The employee who checked her out gave her a funny look.
"Oh, don't worry I just picked this up for some little reading. You know I wouldn't use any of these rituals, but Dumbledore asked me to check these out. I'd rather be safe than sorry you know." Hermione gave a lie to the person behind the counter. She wasn't about to tell them she was looking up stuff for revenge.
"Winky!" Hermione called for Winky. "Have you gotten everything you needed?"
"Yes, missus. I send these bags back to the house and then we can go get the parchment and quills you needed." Winky sent Hermione's shopping back to Grimmauld place and took her down to Scriven shaft's quill shop, then to pick up some floo powder as she was about out.
Hermione went in and got her quills, inks and parchment. She also wondered down to Eeylopes Owl Emporium. She decided she needed an owl. She did have Crookshanks at the house, but she hated using the school owls. Plus, she needed to send an owl to the Malfoys thanking them for their help earlier. She picked out a snowy owl. The white owl flew down and landed on her shoulder.
"Well, aren't you a pretty girl. I suppose I'll have to buy you some treats and such too. I'll get you kitted out and then you can come home with me. I think I shall name you Frostavia. What do you think of that name girl?" The owl hooted at Hermione to let her know that she liked that name.
Hermione grabbed a cage, some treats, and a water bowl. She took it all up to the front counter. Placing it on the counter, she checked out and paid. "Thank you." She paid the cashier and left the store. "Ok girl meet me at 12 Grimmauld place. I'll let you fly, and I'll meet you there.
Frostavia took off and Winky grabbed a hold of Hermione and apparated her back to the house. "Here you go Missy Hermione. Everything is put up except Frostavia's things. You're ready to go back to school next month."
"Thank you Winky." Hermione sat down on the couch and put her head in her hands.
She had to write a thank you letter to the Malfoy's, but she could do that later. Now that she had nothing left to do to get ready for school she was slowly getting depressed. Losing someone who was supposed to be her soulmate was torture and she wasn't sure how she could survive but she would.
While she was sitting down, the evening prophet came through the floo. The front page had a picture of her stepping over Harry and Ron tied up on the ground. The title read Wonder Boy and The One Who Lives in A Pigsty. Rita Skeeter
This afternoon at half past one Miss Hermione Granger was seen coming out of Gringotts bank. Our sources say she went into the bank shortly before we found Harry Potter and Ronald Weasley laying on the ground naked and tied together. Are they lovers, is Hermione Granger scorned. A tell all with more pictures will be coming shortly. As for now we've gotten quotes from Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, and surprisingly Draco Malfoy.
"That mudblood will pay. She stole my inheritance and tied us up."- Harry Potter
"Harry, be fair she's nothing but a Slag. We'll get your inheritance back. There's no way she knew to get it transferred. She just went into Gringotts to get her mudblood money switched over to wizarding money."-Ron Weasley
"My father and I happened along and saw the two numbskulls pictured above Harassing Miss Granger. She's smarter than those two put together, so we held them off while she went into the bank to do her business. What was that? No, we don't know how they became naked and tied up. They're probably lovers and didn't want anyone to know, but now that it's in the prophet well I guess everyone knows."-Draco Malfoy
Hermione laughed out loud, she was going to hang this article in the kitchen, and she had to tell Walburga. She would get a kick out of it, she was sure. Walburga hated Ron and Harry, just as much if not more then Hermione herself did.
Hermione took the prophet up the stairs and opened Walburgas portrait. "Walburga, it seems your cousins have stood up for me and they cursed the Witless wonders. Lucius tied them together naked, and they fell over into the street. Draco then conjured a snake that landed on top of them, Oh I can't talk from laughing so hard. The prophet even got a picture of them. It's on the first page too." Hermione was laughing and held up the picture so Walburga could get a good laugh too.
"Write them a letter dear and thank them for me. I have new ammo against Molly now. The next order meeting will be priceless. I must go now; I have a date to get ready for. If you could close the curtains I'd be grateful dear." Walburga was cracking up laughing too.
"Of course. I was just going too. I thought you might want to see this though." Hermione closed the curtain and went to put the article up in the kitchen. She used a permanent sticking charm that no one but her could undo. She then sat down at the table and fished out a quill and parchment to write the letter to the Malfoys.
Draco and Lucius,
Thank you so much for defending my honor in Diagon Alley today. I really do appreciate it. I came back to the prophet waiting for me and they got a picture of the Witless wonders. Walburga Black has even gotten a kick out the picture in the prophet. As for the comment Draco made, that was genius and no matter what the other two said Grimmauld place now belongs to me and you two are welcome to come over anytime.
Yours
Hermione
Hermione finished up her letter and sealed it up. She called for Frostavia and attached the letter to her leg. "Please take this to Draco and Lucius Malfoy." She gave the owl a couple of treats and sent her on the way.
After the owl left the kitchen Hermione decided she was going to cook dinner tonight, She'd probably have to fight the elves, but they deserved a night off. After all they were free elves and could do what they want. "Dobby, I will be making myself dinner tonight. If you could lock down the floo from everyone except Draco and Lucius Malfoy it would be greatly appreciated. I need to figure out a way to bare some people from my house."
Dobby popped up beside Hermione. "Oh, Missy Granger must not cook for herself. We can do it for her."
"It's ok Dobby. I'm giving you and Winky the night off. You two can go do whatever you please." Hermione got down on Dobby's level. "It's really no problem for me to cook. I love to cook."
"Ok, missy Granger and there is a way to block people from your house completely. You will have to ask the Malfoys though. Dobby can't remember how it's done but they can come over and walk you through it. Dobby will now go and block the floo from everyone except the Malfoy's." Dobby went over to the fireplace and pulled up the security for the floo network. "Ok Missy Granger. All done now."
"Thank you Dobby. I'll ask them when they send a letter back." Hermione got up and went over to the cooling box to see what she could make for dinner.
She pulled out some roast chicken, vegetables and a loaf of bread. She wasn't going to make much as she wasn't to hungry but this should be enough for her to eat tonight. While Hermione was cooking dinner her floo activated and spit out a letter. She didn't think much of it because the floo was blocked from anyone except the Malfoy's.
Hermione looked up when she saw smoke coming from the letter. Someone had sent her a howler. She'd have to take care of that shortly but for now she opened it and Molly Weasley's voice filled the kitchen.
YOU AWFUL SLAG, HOW DARE YOU LEAVE MY BOYS NAKED AND TIED UP IN THE MIDDLE OF DIAGON ALLEY. ISN'T IT ENOUGH THAT YOU'VE STOLEN HARRY'S INHERITANCE FROM HIS OWN GODFATHER AND NOW YOU HAVE TO HUMILATE THEM BOTH PUBICALLY. YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF YOURSELF AND IF YOU AREN'T WELL THEN WHEN I'M THROUGH WITH YOU I'LL MAKE SURE YOU ARE.
Hermione couldn't believe Molly's audacity. She'd have to block the floo from order members like her as well. She was going to set up a spell for the next order meeting that told her who she could trust in her house and who she couldn't. As for now, she's finish her meal and then send Molly a howler back. It was at times like these she really wished Sirius was still here. He wouldn't allow anyone to talk to her like Molly has been.
