Dakota Mianoshoni was only 3- though, being a half-demon makes him act more like he's 5. He shouldn't have had to deal with this…but here we are.

He sat at the dinner chair- a taller chair for his smaller stature, seen as how he was only 2'8, but whatever. He ate with the help of his father, Diablo, who was feeding the little boy. Diablo was a much stronger demon that had traveled to Earth after he fell in love with Tani, Dakota's mother. Diablo's main Quirk was the manipulation of demonic energy, which, since he was a strong demon, meant he was super dangerous when angered. He was also a dealmaker- able to grant wishes or wants in exchange for possessions, services or even souls, for more powerful things. He was a little cold sometimes (which is ironic from a demon), but he was trying his best with the whole "being a parent" thing. As for his mother, Tani, she's a taller human with the Quirk to manipulate shadows. She fell in love with Diablo, as she was a fan of the occult and met him by some stupid urban legend of summoning him, unaware that demons even truly existed. Kel ate across from Dakota, smiling when she Dakota's cute, small face eating. Kel was Dakota's older sister, that has the Quirk of living drawings.

(Editor Note: She's basically Kel from OR3O's "Roaring 20's" series that's like….4 years old now. Damn, I'm old.)

Tani handed Diablo's plate to him. "Here you go, honey." Diablo smiled happily, taking a small bite of the food. "Thank you, honey. I actually got a deal today." Dakota perked up, looking at his father. He was surprised- people actually trust demons? He thought that was kind of cool. After all, he was hated by all the adults, and even some kids, for being a half-demon. Tani smiled, "Oh, you did? Who did it? A goth girl?" Kel chuckled. "Mom, I think it was a cult member. We know how Dad always attracts those kinds." Diablo, hearing the disagreement, shook his head. "Actually, it was a man. In his mid-20's. Had a bunch of weapons- he said he was Quirkless, but in exchange for his soul, eventually, he wanted an immortality Quirk." Everyone looked at him like he was a madman. Diablo chuckled. "Oh calm down…I made a loophole. Don't worry." He said.

Eventually, everyone was heading to bed. Dakota was taken into the bed with Tani and Diablo, and as he cuddled up against his mama, he felt…safe. Secure. As if nothing could possibly go wro-

Knock knock.

Tani's eyes widened as she heard the knock. "Diablo, wake up." Diablo groaned, yawning. "What is it?" "I think someone's tryna break in," Tani whispered. "That so?" He got up, looking at Dakota. "What should we do with him?" Tani set the boy into the dresser drawer. "Dakota…stay here." As they exited the room and locked the door, Dakota was worried while inside the drawer. This never happened before. He could hear Diablo mutter something, and an unfamiliar voice, and then-

BLAM!

A gunshot rang through the halls! A scream could be heard- presumably Kel's- as she started bawling. Maniacal laughter ensued, and next thing you know, another gunshot.

BLAM!

That's all he heard. He cried himself to sleep, and after the man seemed to exit the area, he never even noticed the demon. The next morning, Dakota tried to open the door. No use. He had to fall out the window, go ALL the way around the house, and enter via the front door, and what he saw was absolutely gut-wrenching. His father, sister, and mother, all dead. Chunks of their faces missing from the gunshot- presumably a 12 gauge sawed-off shotgun, but Dakota never remembered that detail, or didn't want to. In blood, the only word to appear on the wall was "Deathshot"- as if the sick fuck wanted people to know who slaughtered this innocent family. Police were called by him, and eventually, they removed the bodies to get to work on the crime.

The case was dropped a month later. Nobody knew why. It just silently faded out of existence. Dakota didn't think this could get any worse, and yet, it was just the beginning.
