Memories Of Her-Ch 14
Back at the hospital Penelope was sitting by Derek's bedside holding his hand, Fran and the girls had stepped out for some fresh air and to grab some breakfast for them so that Penelope could spend some time alone with her husband and as she sat there looking down at him she was so happy, the happiest she'd been in a long long time.
She was pulled from her thoughts when the door opened and Reid stepped into the room and made his way across the room and sat down beside her, Penelope said, "so were you able to talk to Savannah?", he smiled at her and said, "I did and I finally got through to her I think", Penelope said, "what did you tell her?", Reid put his hand on top of hers and took a deep breath as he readied to speak.
He said, "I asked her why she did what she did and she said it was because she loved Derek and that they were destined to be together", Penelope shook her head she's a sick, sick person and she needs help and now maybe she'll be able to get the help that she so desperately needs".
Reid said, "I made her see that Derek didn't love her, that he loves you and the baby the two of you are going to have", Penelope looked at him and said, "speaking of the baby she's going to have, is it?", he shook his head and said, "the baby growing inside her isn't Derek's, no matter what she tried he never gave up on you, never gave up on the life the two of you have".
Penelope said, "thank you boy wonder", he leaned in and kissed her gently on the cheek and said, "you are very welcome Penelope, I love you, Derek and my little niece or nephew and me along with the rest of the family will do whatever it takes to make sure that we are all safe and happy".
Their attention then turned to Derek, who was trying to wake up, they stood up and looked at each other before looking back at him just as his eyes started opening, he looked from Reid to her before smiling, he then reached out and took her hand and said, "it's you, you are the woman that I have dreamed of, you, you are the woman that I love".
Penelope said, "I love you too Derek", Reid said, "do you remember us?", Derek said, "things are still fuzzy but they are starting to come back", he looked at Reid and said, "you are Reid, you're myyyyyy brother", Reid grinned and nodded his head yes as Derek's attention then turned to Penelope.
He said, "and you, you are my baby girl, my wife, my Penelope", with tears streaming down her face she said, "I'll be your Penelope for the rest of my life, I love you so so much and I was so broken when I thought I'd lost you forever", he said, "I never gave up on getting away from Savannah, I never gave up on getting back to you, never".
Reid slowly backed away and as he stepped out into the hallway he saw Penelope lean down and do the one thing she'd been wanting to do since Derek was found, she kissed him passionately, seeing his two best friends together the only thing Reid could do was smile as he closed the door to give them some privacy.
He looked around when he heard Fran call out his name, he smiled and said, "things are going to be okay", Sarah said, "you mean?", Reid said, "he's awake and he remembers, now don't get me wrong, things are foggy for him but the memories are coming back", Desi grinned and said, "I'll go let the doctor know", Fran, Reid and Sarah grinned as they watched Desi disappear around the corner to go fill the doctor in on the good news that Derek had woken up and was getting his memories back.
