Still in shock by the what happened today, as she got home, when Claudette saw her, "how is the detective, doctor?"

"He's alive, but in a coma" Julia said in a low voice

Claudette did the sign of the cross, "I'm so sorry. Is there anything I can do?"

"No, I just want to be alone with Susannah. But going to the hospital first thing tomorrow morning."

"Ok, I'll be here tomorrow morning at 7:30."

"Thanks."

As Claudette leaves she tells Julia, "please get some rest"

Julia nodded, "good night" as the door closes and locks it.

She walks into the living room, and looks all around, going through all what happened today, as she sat down in her chair and began crying.

She pulled herself together, and walked to the nursery to see Susannah.

As she walked into the nursery, she saw her little girl fast asleep, as she caresses her cheek, but all she saw was William, "my goodness darling, you have so much of your father in you" as she smiled.

The next morning Julia was at the hospital by 8:00, Margaret still at William's side.

"You're here early. Did you get any sleep?" Margaret asked

"I got some. But was up early anyway…Susannah called out for him."

"I'm sorry, Julia."

She nodded, "any changes?" as she checked his pulse, and eyes, "no change"

"Thomas and I took turns watching over him"

"Thank you, again."

"I'm going to get some breakfast from the kitchen. I'll bring you something"

"I'm not…"

Margaret put her hand up, "I won't hear it," as she left to get breakfast

Julia sat down on the side of the bed, as she kissed his cheek, "oh my love, Susannah misses you. When I got home, all I could do is cry, but I needed to see her. She was sleeping and all I saw was your face, and I was so happy. All these years, I always wondered what our child would look like, and now I see Susannah is the sum of you and me. She, has my eyes, but has your eyeshape, dimples, and mouth." As she begins tearing up again, she wipes the tears away, "I know all these years you said our relationship and marriage was enough for you, but our faces became one darling when we made three."

Julia kissed his cheek again, "come back to me, my love. Susannah and I need you"
