A long sigh escaped his breath, slumping forward the young teen glanced up into the dreary cloudy skies over the Clock Tower, how he managed into the Magus association he didn't know, yet he managed to weasel by with is less then subpar Mage craft, maybe it was because of his knowledge of Heroic Spirits? Or was it pity for a young boy without a home? Whatever it was, he hoped to one day become a respected Mage, while basic the only form of magic in his command was a simple reinforcement spell taught to him by a "Hero of Justice" and the Healing Spell taught to him by the Nurse. He hoped to one day meet that man again, wondering how he had been since he had last seen him as a child…
I'm Yozora Sumeragi, I'd say I'm your average mage, but I'm sorely restricted to medical and some Reinforcement magic, my magic is terrible, with no substance to it, in other words, I'm the weakest here, little did I know just this week would change everything for me, and intertwine my fate with another...
" !" With that the young man jolted standing up stiff and turning around at the angered voice coming from behind him. "Y-Y-Yes, Mo- I mean Ma'am!?" He gulped fearing the worse, especially from this Teacher In particular. Behind him was a woman in her mid to late Thirties, her dark blue eyes accompanied with long brown hair tied in a bun. She sighed before handing him a paper with his name on it and a big A+ on it.
"Congratulations, your paper on Class Cards was interesting." She huffed, Yozora chuckled a little nervously before relaxing,
"Thank you, Ms. Tohsaka, I tried following Lord El-Melloi II's instructions as best as I can." He replied, she looked between the young man and the paper on his hand before letting out a sigh and sitting down
"It seems like you did your research on the Previous Grail Wars, not even the main ones but the abnormal ones as well." She said, Yozora nodded furiously, "Reading up on them, I know the Fuyuki ones were the worse, especially from your Accounts with your involvements in the Last Fuyuki Grail War." Yozora explained, "I'm not sure why, but I've had a gut feeling that perhaps, should another Grail war begin, then it could be bad, Someone, somewhere could summon something that could end in disaster." He continued on while Tohsaka looked at him, her eyes lowering to the floor, prompting Yozora to stop.
"S-Sorry, I guess I brought up some bad memories." He said, Tohsaka merely shook her head as she stood up. "No it's not that, I'm just glad that there is someone who is looking at even the dark possibility, who knows, maybe you'll be the hero that stops such a disaster." She said making her a way into the ground, only to stop, remembering the second reason for looking for him, she fumbled around in her back for a little bit before grabbing a letter.
"Since you mentioned Lord El-Melloi II, here's a letter for you, she's called you up for your first Investigation on your own." She said handing him the letter before taking off, disappearing into the sea of mages, Yozora remained silent, opening the letter and reading it over, once he finished his eyes closed a wide grin coming across his lips as he crumpled down on himself before springing up with excitement in his voice, Without a second to spare he ran through the crowd hoping to make it to Lord El-Melloi II's office
Excitement raced through him as he sprinted for the office, wonder danced in his mind theorizing what his mission was, perhaps investigating a new site? Or perhaps searching for a Legendary Artifact for a Heroic Spirit?! The Possibilities were endless!
"You're going to America to investigate some strange Mana Surges." Lord El-Melloi II said bluntly throwing the report onto the coffee table, Yozora's eyes widen looking at the map included in the report, as well as satellite images, "Mana Surges?" He muttered studying the wave lengths and reports of people going missing, even winding up murdered, his eyes widen as he pulled out his report, ignoring Lord El-Melloi II's speech, much to his ire,
"A Grail war…" He whispered, much to El-Melloi's surprise, "You're kidding right? You could get that in such little time!?"
"L-Let me explain, I think it might be one, these signatures are almost identical to those of a Servant being summoned, yet they are smaller, like a blink and you'll miss it type of smaller, I might be wrong, but if I'm not then someone is forcing a Grail War to happen as we speak." Yozora said furrowing his brow and looking over the signatures, shaking his head.
"I'll go and investigate, if it does lead into a Grail War, I'll be sure to call in the moment I've confirmed it." He said, El-Melloi II looked at Yozora, not seeing anyway for him to budge, he was determined to go.
"Very well, but on the first sign of trouble you call, understood?" He scowled, Yozora nodded before standing up and bowing to the man. "Pack your things, You make you're way to America tonight." He said sternly
"Yes sir!" Yozora confirmed his eyes brushing against the papers on the table, his eyes were drawn to the name of the town, a familiar name? For a moment getting a quick flash in his head of a boy and girl pair, something he quickly shook off and made his way back to his room...
The rest of the day was a blur between packing a few gems and change of clothes he seemed caught up in that brief memory, there was something nostalgic, yet painful about it, something making him feel guilty for forgetting them. Nonetheless he shook his head grabbing his bag and left his room in the dead of night, hurrying to the airstrip where a private plane awaited him. Silently getting in he grabbed his earbuds playing a few songs before being lulled to sleep. His flight was short and fast, but most importantly peaceful, he had a feeling this was going to be the last time he'll get something like that for a long while.
Having made his destination he grabbed his phone, checking the address of the Apartments but most of all his temporary base of operations, far enough for any mage to sense him, but close enough to keep an eye on the apartment building, he let out a chilled breath before standing up.
"Well the view's nice, but I'm not here for sightseeing," He hummed jumping from the rooftop of a house and landing on the next, his hands in his pockets as he raced across the night, only stopping for some basic needs, he continued his way to the apartments, making his way to the roof top of them...he sensed something...off, Something perverse, something wrong, his eyes narrowed before making his way across the rooftops of the buildings, from the corner of his eyes he noticed a crimson glimmer shine and streak towards him, he quickly took a hold of his cloak using his strengthening magic to hopefully withstand the attack, it did as planned but knocked him off course, He found himself in a free fall with the only thing coming from his throat was a simple yet effective.
"Oh...OOOOOOHHHH SHIT!" with a groan and loud thud he crashed onto the railings of one of the balcony's he climbed his way up onto the balcony hoping that by some miracle he landed on a vacant one, pain shooting up his body, quickly he used his magic to heal his injuries before standing up and looking back trying to find the source of the attack.
unaware of the door opening behind.
"Hand's up fucker! Who the fuck are you!?" and of course it wasn't, complying with the voice, Yozora turned around slowly, arms up in the air and looked at the source of the voice, his eyes widen as the moonlight peeked through the clouds, a woman no older then him, maybe younger, glared at him, a cleaver pointed directly at him, her cherry blossom pink eyes twinkled in the moonlight, while her pale skin seemed to shine, Yozora found himself with a faint dusting of red across his cheeks, his heart skipping a beat, while feeling a small pang, it was feeling he had never felt before...
"Well fuck face! Say something!" She snapped.
"C-Cute…" Yozora blurted out catching the woman off guard, causing her to drop the Cleaver as a crimson tint came across her cheeks, realization struck the young man as he began to panic, of course not even a full day in America and he was fucking up, he tried to find a way to correct his mistake but soon panicked as he spun around. "I-I-I best be goin' now!" He gulped kicking a leg atop the dented railing, the Woman shrieked grabbing him by the waist.
"YOU DUMBASS! WE'RE ON THE FOURTH FLOOR! YOU'LL DIE! ANDREW GIVE ME A HAND HERE!" within moments a second person, also with black hair, his eyes an emerald green hurried out, the two struggling to pull Yozora in until after a few moments, all three of them were exhausted from the small struggle.
"G-Goddamn…. Ashley...If…if you got a friend that coked up over...at...at least give me a heads up." The young man groaned
"H-He's not my friend, Andrew...He...Literally...fell outta the sky or something." She replied, the young two now named Andrew and Ashley looked at Yozora who chuckled a little. "R-Right, I should explain, ya see I was….um...Superhero shoot?" He chuckled nervously,
"Yeah...uh-huh." Ashley said not buying his lie, before Andrew could challenge, a loud grumble came from Ashley's stomach as she held it and groaned, "H-Hungry...Those fuckers didn't bring us food again." She said, Yozora found his chance to possibly get out of this situation, he stood up and reached into his backpack. "How about some Pasta and Meatballs?" He grinned digging through his bag, Ashley and Andrew perked up at his words, watching him produce the incredible ingredients, frozen meatballs, pasta and a four-cheese tomato sauce.
"I was planning to use it when I got home, but it sounds like you guys could use it." He smiled kindly, Ashley and Andrew looked at each other before Ashley spoke up. "You've gotta be an angel, especially if you're falling from the skies."
"Nah, just following someone's example." He said remembering the actions of the 'Hero of Justice' he had met many years ago he pushed the ingredients towards the two, Andrew and Ashley looked at one another before nodding, "Fine, but you're going to join us then, it's the least we could do for taking this." Andrew said, soon being dragged into the small apartment, Ashley made her way to the kitchen readying the pots and pans.
"So... Is something going on around? Like for why you guys need to have someone bring you guys food?" Yozora asked,
"Sorta, apparently there is a parasite in the water, just so long as we can boil it before consuming, we should be okay." Ashley explained prompting Yozora to remain silent, taking a moment to sense the air around him, whatever it was that attacked him was gone, but there was some kind of rancid mana flowing around the entire complex,
"So, what were you doing out there? Break out your apartment to go do some murders?" Ashley hummed eyeing Yozora from the kitchen, a teasing, yet smug smirk across her face.
"Nah, the opposite, I'm bored so I decided to investigate a little, do a little sleuthing ya know?" Yozora snickered deciding on his cover for now, maybe he could get some information from these two?
"I donno sounds like what a murderer would say, I know this feels like a trap I'd set up." She replied.
"Ashley!" Andrew snapped, prompting her to roll her eyes and turn back to the food. "Well sorry, I'm just having some fun, god knows we don't get enough of that going."
Yozora snickered. "No worries, I understand that to be honest, not much excitement we're I'm from honestly."
"Oh, and where is that? With the cloak you're wearing I'm tempted to say Hogwarts or something." Ashley continued with her tease, Yozora laughed, 'She wasn't wrong technically, magic school in Europe? How the hell wasn't it like Hogwarts?'
"Nah, but close enough, I've been living abroad in London with my parents, I grew up around here and wanted to visit this shit hole of a city." He replied prompting a hardy laugh from Ashley,
"Shit hole of a city indeed!" Andrew watched the two interacting, stifling a grin behind his hand as a lone idea popped into his head, Yozora sensed his gaze on him,
"S-Sorry for leaving you out, Andrew, anything you wanna ask or share?" Yozora laughed a little
"No worries, just a random thought I had."
"Care to share it?" Ashley questioned
"Maybe another time." He replied with a smirk and waving off his sister, who in turn rolled her eyes soon serving three plates of Pasta and Meatballs, fresh and ready to be consumed by the three of them.
"Stand in awe at my perfectly, brilliantly prepared dish!" She exclaimed with glee, Andrew and Yozora found their mouths watering at the aroma, "Outside of the bottle it didn't have much flavoring, but we did have some Italian seasonings sitting in a cabinet, so I dumped some in there." Ashley said as the two boys took a forkful into their mouths, the taste buds assaulted by spectacular flavor, the two began shoveling forkful after forkful into their mouths. Ashley watched in amusement taking note of a splotch of sauce on the side of Yozora's cheek.
"Come on now, just because it's my perfect cooking, doesn't mean you have to a little slob about it," she said taking a napkin to his cheek, Yozora face going bright red, and soon after Ashley's did the same realizing what she had done,
"S-S-Sorry, habit, we had a friend that was a bit messy too." She said, Andrew cocked a brow surprised by how quick she had gone meek, before Yozora could speak up a sudden pulse erupted, a pulse only he felt. Yet could see faint traces of magic flowing from the siblings, he watched the streams of magic flowing out the balcony door and finally a beastly roar followed by terrified scream erupted from the balcony across them,
Ashley and Andrew jumped at the scream while Yozora stood up, feeling an uneasy pressure in the pit of his stomach, something pulling him away, he clenched his fist and grabbed the kitchen knife, "H-Hey, what a-" Before Andrew could question him Yozora held the Knife in front of him closing his eyes as lines of gold ran down his arm and throughout the knife.
"Trace...On…" He spoke casting his Reinforcement magic on the knife, Ashley and Andrew watched on in disbelief as Yozora hurried to the balcony, grabbing one of the boards and using it as a makeshift bridge to move across, Ashley and Andrew looked at each other, nodding to one another and followed after them...what they saw was grusome.
On the floor was, what the Graves could only think of, was a Satanic Circle of some type? For Yozora his eyes narrowed recognizing the glyphs, however before he could get his words out a low growl came from the corner of the room...Their Neighbor killed...
It was a satanic ritual, A botched one that killed their Neighbor, right? So why, right now of all time, was the Demon before them devouring the body of the man, blood and saliva leaking down from its exposed jaws and towards the floor causing it to pool together.
Andrew gagged from the sight and smell of it all, while the young sister, Ashley looked on in horror as the fleshy creature moved closer, the half eaten skull of the man dropping to the floor with a sickening thud, Yozora readied his knife to fight the creature
Andrew trembled as his emerald green eyes scanned the room with them resting on the dagger the man had used for the ritual. As the Creature lunged forward Ashley screamed out in fear, while Andrew pushed his sister aside grabbing the cleaver to defend himself and Ashley However, he was easily swatted aside, his back impacting the kitchen counter with a crack escaping his body, his eyes catching the sight of blood escaping his mouth as his body slumped to the floor pain pulsing all throughout none stop. "Andrew!" Yozora shouted his eyes wide before turning to look at Ashley.
The creature continued its charge towards Ashley, with Andrew and Yozora urging her to run away, but nothing came out of it…Her legs cave out from under her…Her pink eyes trembling in horror, albeit at peace knowing she was able to eat one final good meal...and perhaps at...
Her thoughts were cut short as a boot clad foot to made contact with the side of the creature's, head, a sickening crack echoed throughout the room, the impact sending the bulky demon through the wall, scurrying about attempting to rise up, Ashley's eyes widen as her savior was revealed as Yozora.
"H-How did…" Her eyes widen while Andrew struggled to stand up, Yozora smiled at the two lifting his hand up a green ethereal glow surrounded his hand, his hand aimed at Andrew as that same green glow enveloped his body stopping the blood loss and healing his broken ribs, taking away his fatigue and pain. Andrew was surprised and looked over at Yozora who turned to glare at the Demon.
"Thank you, both of you, and Ashley, the pasta was amazing." Yozora said with a smile looking onto the floor, he had to think, and think fast before making his way out, he couldn't drag them into anything, not with his work. "An attempt to Summon a Servant? Guess he failed and resulted in that...Thing manifesting here." He growled his eyes catching the sight of what the man had tried to conjure, on the floor in front of Ashley was seven cards,
Yozora's eyes widen and his breath hitched, "Class Cards?" without a moment to spare he grabbed the first, the bronze card was marred with black scarring concealing the Servant Type from his view, he could only hope it was anything but Caster, anything but a Berserker or anyone that could potential make him go rouge, praying, hoping for Assassin, Archer, or even Lancer or Rider, the likelihood of the final class, the strongest of the Seventh Class was unlikely, not with his Mana Levels, he swallowed hard unsure if this would work, but he had to try, for them...
"First time doing this, hopefully I was right about this," He growled taking hold of the first card he could get his hand on. "Class Card Install!" He shouted, spinning himself just as the creature recovered and began charging him and Ashley, Yozora's eyes widen fearing the Install would not work, his grip on the knife tightening, desperation taking hold as he roared out thrusting the knife forward… The Summoning Circle underneath them began to glow shooting lightning into the air the cards accepting him as their wielder a cocoon of light enveloped his body and as the Demon inched closer
The light faded away revealing Yozora, the knife he had used replaced, now holding a white and blue sword, his clothes replaced, His attire consisted mainly of a black and white tunic with blue accents, black pants, thigh-high armored boots, and a short white cape with a black edge. Aside from his boots, his left arm has a gauntlet, and he wears a set of faulds at his waist. A sword scabbard hangs at his left side, and red marks coat his right gloved arm.
He side-stepped lifting the blade up and removing the creature's arm at the shoulder, causing it to flail about in the pain, gripping onto his arm as blood splattered over him and room.
"Have no idea which Heroic Spirit you are, but the way your Power flowed into me tells me you're all for protecting humanity, so let's do this!" Yozora exclaimed bursting forth the Heroic Spirit he was sharing their power with erupting from him as he and the creature exchanged hits all before the creature pounced once again this time Yozora was ready, ducking underneath and twisting his body allowing his weapon to cleave through its body cutting it in half.
Its two halves flying past him and seemingly melting into a puddle of black liquid, Yozora swiped the sword he had before sheathing it, the moonlight leaking into the room Ashley looking up at Yozora from the bloody floor. admiring the knightly uniform he wore and the sword at his hip, orbs of light soon flowing freely from his body as the garb of the Heroic Spirit faded away, his clothes returning to normal and the Class Card reappeared, Yozora caught the card and looked at it. Engraved on the front of it was the picture of an armor-clad knight, the once bronze card now a shimmering gold.
"Saber...huh…I'll be damned." He whispered to himself, "Donno which Heroic Spirit you were, but Imma be counting on you until the end of the War, partner."
"Yozora?" Ashley spoke startling the young man, the two exchanged looks with one another forgetting about Andrew being in the room.
"Look if you guys are gonna be giving each other eyes, then please wait until I leave the room." He gave a fake gag, the two blushed heavily with Ashley standing up and the two yelling at Andrew.
"M-M-Me and him!? Yeah right! He's got a snowball's chance in hell!" Ashley spat.
"C-Come on man! Me and Psycho Tits? Y-Yeah right!" Yozora challenged
After some of time, and cleaning up any evidence of the trio being in the room they returned to the Graves' siblings apartment, questions still loomed over the heads of the siblings, Entering the room the trio plopped down on the couch with Yozora physically and mentally exhausted, it might've been from using the Class Card for the first time, even soon he brought out the Seven Cards, six of which remained colorless compared to their original bronze, black streaked color.
"This is different from what the old man told me…" He murmured recounting Lord El-Melloi's teachings, the way he had experience the Grail War, Class cards were purely Theoretical, yet here they were, All Seven of them, yet the Grail hadn't appeared, maybe an error? Maybe something else was driving the war, or perhaps driving the appearance of the Cards? It also explained the sudden, yet swift appearances of Heroic Spirit energies appearing across the city, no, it wasn't enough for him, there had to be a bigger reason, maybe that was what felt? Could it be the close proximity of him, him being so close to the Summoning Circle Caused the accident? Maybe it was due to those two? But most of all, who was the Heroic Spirit he channeled? It was a brief Exchange, but the Heroic Spirit asked me to protect Humanity, the way he spoke was more akin to an adventurer rather than a knight or King, in a basic way to put it, the Heroic Spirit was 'Awesome'.
"Hey Yozora!" Ashley had managed to startle the young man, the Graves siblings looking at him almost expectedly, yet worrying. he chuckled a little standing up in front of them, his hands on hips and a smile across his face, trying to lighten up the mood before dropping the mother of information bombs. "Right, Questions from you guys, whatever question you've got I've got an answer for it, so shoot."
"Okay, what the hell was that? Was our neighbor a Cultist or...does it have to do with those cards?" Andrew started only for Ashley to cut in. "And what the hell was that thing? Do you have some type of Magical Girl type powers?!"
Yozora chuckled at Ashley's question, soon his smile faded however as held the Saber Card, "This is gonna be awhile so bear with me, This is a Class Card, inside, in theory anyway, is the power of a Heroic Spirit, some even say the Card itself is the Manifestation of the Heroic Spirit themselves, These Servants allow us to use their powers, with their strongest Abilities revealed if you know the name of the Heroic Spirit." Yozora explained only to see Andrew raising his hand.
"Y-You don't have raise your hand." Yozora chuckled a little.
"Sorry, but you're like a teacher right now, what's a Heroic Spirit?" Ashley nodded more caught up by the term Servant rather than Heroic Spirit.
"Right, I guess the explanation never went like that when I was given it, so a Heroic Spirit is exactly what it sounds like, the Spirit of a great hero from history, or even legend, and religion, heroes like Hercules, Artemis, Merlin, King Arthur, to those from Historical Fact like Thomas Edison, Jack the Ripper, and Black Beard, if the right medium is used in the summoning any one of these Servants could be at your call."
"Wait are you telling me you guys know the REAL identity of Jack the Ripper!?" Ashley exclaimed slapping her hands onto the table, Yozora shook his head, however stopped making an unsure expression.
"Ish? One of the Grail Wars mentioned something about Jack the Ripper, but that Jack the Ripper was just a condensed mass of wraiths, spirits of aborted children from prostitutes, so yes, and no?" Ashley sighed sitting back down and crossing her arms over her chest.
"Boooo...Carry on." She said with puffed cheeks and pouting lips. "Now on to the next question, your neighbor might have been A Mage attempting to gain access to the Grail War, I sensed it earlier but I thought nothing of it until that Monster showed itself, my theory is our lines got crossed somehow, which is why the Seven Class Cards are here...but that doesn't explain why the Grail Didn't show up immediately" Yozora explained rubbing the side of his head, his eyes closed as he continued to theorize about the many possible reasons...
"I'm gonna go off on a limb here and say it might have to do with why some of them are blacked out like this," He continued only shaking his head, and now for Ashley's question. "Lastly, I have no idea how they work, I mean my clothes change when I used it, granted I'm sure it was the clothes the Heroic Spirit wore during their time as an Adventurer."
"Totally going with Magical Girl then." Ashley grinned earning an eye roll from Yozora, he walked into it so there was no going back at that point,
"Regardless things are a bit more complicated, I'm officially part of this war, and you guys witnessed something you weren't supposed to." He groaned scratching the back of his head thinking of how to go about this next bit.
"I'm guessing normal people aren't supposed to witness the war, let alone a Summoning?" Andrew questioned, Yozora gave a nod as he let out a breath, "Normally there's supposed to be a neutral ground for people that lose their Servants, or those that witness the Grail War, a place for them to stay until the War is over...but this War isn't normal, something isn't right...it seems Perverse, like something else is going on...like someone is pulling the strings to something bigger..." Yozora said, his eyes narrowing in a way the siblings hadn't seen yet.
"So what are you going to do? make us 'Disappear'? Kill us? Oh no, you wouldn't force our silence by taking my innocence!" Ashley frowned her own eyes narrowing on Yozora who seemed deep in thought, her eyes shifting to the Cleaver on the kitchen counter,
"No, My Teacher told me to uphold the Values of the Heroic Spirit you contract with, it might've been a brief meeting, but They want me to defend Humanity, maybe a counter force of some kind?" He muttered but shook his head and continued on. "No, from now on You'll be under my defense, with the Class card I'm about as good as a Servant, even without a formal Contract, we'll have one between the three of us." he said sitting back down on the couch.
"So You'll be staying with us?" Ashley gulped mixed emotions of having a Mage living with them, ideally that would be perfect, but as it stands it's probably a bad idea, and Yozora knew that his eyes narrowing as he grabbed his smart phone. "I'm going to call the Lord, I need to get some things settled, and this grail war needs to be reported in." Yozora said stepping out into the balcony
"One hell of a night huh?" Andrew snickered for a moment the two heard the sounds of someone yelling through a phone the two looking out the balcony watching Yozora with an unsure, almost apologetic look on his face as he got yelled at by his teacher,
"Getting a good yelling at huh?" Ashley snickered while Andrew rolled his eyes at his sister's words.
"Lay off him, He's making sure we're taken care of here."
"Except we can't leave the Apartment here, we live in a giant Kill box."
The siblings glared at one another before turning away from each other, "I swear, why can't you just accept one more person, at this point we have to depend on him as much as we depend on each other. I mean You accepted S-"
"Stop right there Andy." Ashley spun around with a hiss and glare, the siblings continue to glare at one another before Ashley's brows furrowed her pink eyes shifting out of the Balcony watching as the Mage sent a photo of his Class Card to his teacher, looking like he was explaining more of the situation before soon turning around to enter the apartment.
"Yes sir, I'll make sure to report everything I can as we go." Yozora spoke before hanging up and slipping his phone back into his pocket, a long sigh escaped his lips,
"So? Good news? Bad news?" Andrew questioned,
"Good news, thankfully, with some strings attached though, I got the okay for you two to stay with me at my temporary residence here in town, being the man Lord El-Melloi II is he's looking into other information, he'll contact me as soon as everything is clear, but until then, I'm supposed to stick with you guys at all times." Yozora said plopping down against the wall,
"This extends to your parents as well if they are around,"
"They are around...but we don't really hear much from them, last time we heard from them was when we moved here, that was before the Quarantine as well, Yozora's eyes narrowed as he sat thinking, Ashley noticed the serious expression coming across his face and with mischievous look her self, she silently walked up to him.
Yozora sat silently thinking, if it was a parasite it would've been a lot more obvious, there was something off about this, even after the Mage was killed by the creature, there was still a considerable amount of Magic still flowing, the lack of cars outside, and the signs he had seen outside only fueled his speculation, 'That doesn't make sense, why make some condemned buildings a spot for Quarantine? Plus…. I'm still sensing magic, it's weaker, but something about it was dangerous…' Before he could rack his head any further a soft breeze of cold and soon warm breath touched his skin, it carried along with it a nice fragrance, but nonetheless a shiver ran up his spin as his hand slapped onto his neck and he looked over to find Ashley having doubled over laughing.
"Hahaha! Take it easy there Mr. Wizard, you're gonna give yourself grey hairs, get some rest and we can think of a plan tomorrow." She said,
"I'm gonna agree with Ashley here, as it stands, we'll need our rest, you more so than anyone else here, especially if you're gonna be doing all the fighting." Andrew said standing up from the couch and making his way to the closet, grabbing a spare pillow and blanket.
"Go ahead and sleep on the couch and get some rest." He said placing the pillow on one end of the couch and blanket on the other, Yozora nodded standing up and walking to the couch before plopping down.
"Fun fact, I was sitting on that end." Ashley teased one final time as she and Andrew entered their room, a quick dusting of crimson came across Yozora's face while Ashley gave him a teasing, mocking, smug smirk before closing the door behind her,
"God…. dammit I'm seriously terrible with these types of women." Yozora groaned his eyes fixed on the ceiling, but he knew Andrew was right, his body would need the rest, there was going to be plenty for him to think of, plenty for him to investigate, starting with the apartment complex...it was with that, that he was lulled to sleep...the Saber Class Card in his pocket releasing a faint shimmer as he did….
Chapter 1- Fate
Author's notes,
Well done, and I'm pretty content with how the first actual chapter came out, by the time this one drops the Preview will be gone, can you spot all the little refrences here and there? More over, I originally planned to give Yozora the Assassin class with the Heroic Spirit being Charles-Heri Sanson, but ended up deciding on Saber, purely because the Servant in particular has been a favorite of mine since Their introduction, if you know ya know, Also I couldn't help but attempt to recreate the Saber/Shirou scene in every itteration of the Fate Series, but for now, I hope you enjoyed the story, I'll try and keep improving as much as I can and make it an enjoyable read.
