I don't want the pictures. I don't want you're sympathy.

We don't have to be friends. We don't have to be enemies.

Lucas walked over to where Brooke was. Glaring back at Victoria.

"Brooke is very important to me. She's my friend and she's going to be the mom of our twins. She's been handling this pregnancy and spotlight better then expected."

"She deserves to have a calm peaceful pregnancy."

"I won't have you getting in the way of that or causing stress to her. What affects Brooke. Affects me."

"Get out this is my last warning to you. And outside of business needs. You and Ted keep you're distance." Lucas proclaimed.

Brooke taken aback by Lucas's protectiveness.

"Whatever. I'll go. This pregnancy better not be a complication for me and this line Brooke." Victoria said. Before leaving.

When it was just the two of them. Brooke looked to him.

"Thank you for defending me. I knew she wouldn't react well to the baby news. I've been her emotional punching bag all my life."

"Yet her words just really hurt right now." Brooke admitted. Wiping away falling tears.

The expression on Lucas's face softened.

"Of course i would defend you. Pregnant or not."

"But especially during this vunerable time when i'm sure you're more sensitive to alot of things."

"You don't deserve to be treated that way." Lucas said.

"Are you okay?" Lucas asked.

Brooke took a breath. Put her hand on her belly.

"Yeah. Why did you stop by?" Brooke asked.

"I brought over lunch. You get so wrapped up in this store you lose track of time and you have to make sure to take care of yourself." Lucas replied. Handing over the bag with the food and the drink.

"Thanks." Brooke replied.

Lucas took a seat on one of the chairs in the seating area.

Opening his own bag of food.

...

Sometime later

"Are you the welcome back wagon?" Peyton asked.

Lucas smilled at her. "Its the big news in town."

"You being back. Just because the divorce papers have been signed and sent. Doesn't mean we have to become strangers." Lucas replied.

The expression on Peyton's face softened. "I'm glad. I never want to lose you from my life." She confessed.

"You never have to worry about that. Our friendship has always been there and its not going anywhere." Lucas reassured her.

"I've been thinking work is good. I'm back with my friends."

"I'm looking into maybe adopting. It turned out better then expected for me. Maybe i could do that for some kid." Peyton revealed.

The expression on Lucas's face softened.

"You would be a beautiful mom. I'm here to help in any way. Just ask." Lucas replied.

"I should let you unpack in peace." Lucas added in.

"Thank you for coming by." Peyton said. Opening her arms.

As he hugged her.

"See you around." Lucas said.

"I'm going to be a father. That is what i'm preparing for."

"Work is my second priority. Everything else comes aftert." Lucas proclaimed.

"I understand you wanting to do what Dan didn't. Being present for you're kids. You're a good guy."

"I need you to listen to what you're heart says now."

"I want you to be happy and settled in life."

"Peyton still loves you. Tell me you don't have feelings for her and i'll leave this alone." Haley insisted.

"Me and Peyton are friends now and that's all there is to it." Lucas proclaimed.

"You were in love with her. That's all over because Brooke is pregnant?" Haley questioned.

Ted and Victoria were standing beside each other in Ted's office.

In front of them Julian Baker.

"Brooke used me and threw me away. I owe her nothing." Julian proclaimed.

Brooke felt refreshed having left Clothes over bros for the night.

Taken a shower. Had a needed comfort meal. As she changed into her silk PJs.

She smiled at the sight of her baby bump. She found herself in the nursery she had put together. The colors not gender based.

Had she gone overboard with buying items maybe so.

This pregnancy was healing her heart in ways she hadn't expected.
