Reasons To Fall
Chapter 10
"Did you forget what ended our relationship the first time?"
"You and Peyton always circle back around. I've been the girl who was tossed aside for her best friend once already."
"I'm not doing that again. Especially now." Brooke proclaimed.
Her hands going to her baby bump.
"I don't want Peyton in that way. We wouldn't of signed divorced papers. She left town. If she wanted to fix things she would of stayed."
"I don't have feelings for her Brooke besides friendship." Lucas insisted.
"I know i hurt you and broke you're heart last time but everything is different now." Lucas said.
"If she had been able to give you a baby and stayed to town."
"Would the two of you of stayed married?" Brooke questioned.
"No. I don't know. Brooke that isn't possible and you bringing this up at all is you're insecurity and fear."
"Which i understand but i'm not that guy anymore. Confused. Conflicted."
"You are just trying to find reasons to keep us apart." Lucas said.
"I'm protecting my heart. Letting myself fall for you again."
"I can't let my heart get broken like that." Brooke insisted.
"Why can't you trust me?" Lucas asked.
"I know you too well." Brooke replied before leaving.

Days Later
"Watching Lucas and Peyton get married was a moment that i couldn't shake. I saw their love and connection."
"Why would I take the chance to try again?" Brooke questioned.
As she had breakfast at Rachel's.
"Someone told me once. Love does not knock often so when it does you have to let it in."
"Must i remind you. I was there when he called on destiny and fate. Making the shot without even looking."
"He's always been in love with you." Rachel insisted.
Brooke swallowed hard. "I can't compete with their history." She replied.
"So you don't love him anymore?" Rachel asked.
"Of course i do. I always will." Brooke stated matter of fact.
"Then give him a chance." Rachel insisted.
"Mouth moved in with me. We're going to see how it goes."
"You gave Lucas up for once already. Are you really going to let her get what she wants again?"
"You're going to be the mother of his children. That matters more then a high school relationship." Rachel proclaimed.
"I'm overjoyed for you and Mouth. You just don't get it Rach."
"Him choosing her over me broke me. I didn't date for years afterwards." Brooke confessed.

"I want to help you. And my best friend. You and Lucas are supposed to be together. I know it and I know you still love him." Haley insisted.
"Lucas having babies with Brooke doesn't mean his heart isn't with you." Haley said.
"Why are you so invested in us getting back together?" Peyton asked.
"Lucas is my family and so are you." Haley replied.
"What about Brooke?" Peyton asked.
