Chapter 5: Dinner with the Gillmans

Back in the other world, later on, after taking Queen Nerissa back to Captain Lighthouse, who never suspected she was gone the whole time, apparently she was right, humans are stupid, Ruby with Agatha, Brill, and their New blue friend arrived back at home by the time it was now the evening.

"So, are you sure it's ok? Won't they be concerned seeing... me?"

Sonic asked about the rest of Ruby's family as he described his whole being with his arms.

"Sure it is, after all, we Kraken deal with things like these, even if it's encountering anthropomorphic animals."

Ruby said, Sonic nodded with respect, inside the house we see Arthur Gillman, Ruby's Dad, in the kitchen cooking dinner, looking over is 3 little Kraken Triplets, the one in Red clothes is Sam, the other in Blue is Max, and the last one in Green is Zac, playing video games, and over to the side is a Baby Kraken, named Jake, wearing a yellow baby outfit, who was in his play area with baby toys, and all 4 of them are Ruby's brothers.

"Go! Go! Go! Go!/Almost There!/ Hit It! Hit It!/YEAH!!!!"

The triplets won their game and did high fives and victory dances.

"Alright Boys, turn that off, dinner's ready."

Arthur told them, who sighed as they obeyed.

"Hey little man, you hungry?"

Arthur asked Jake as he picked him up, took him over to the table, and put him in his high chair, soon the Girls and Brill came in the door.

"We're home."

Agatha said.

"Hey honey, just in time, food's ready."

He said as they made out, right in front of the triplets who were grossed out by it.

"I think I lost my appetite!"

Max said.

"Suite yourselves, I am starving."

Brill said popping out, surprising Arthur a bit.

"Oh, wasn't expecting you here."

He said.

"Well, that's because something happened today."

Ruby said.

"Something Happened!?/Was it huge!?/A Monster attack!?..."

The trips kept asking questions.

"Not huge, but not small either, we met someone, someone who we thought was another Giant Kraken."

Ruby said as Boys were a whole lot of suprised.

"Another Giant Kraken?!/Is it a relative?/Maybe an Aunt or a long lost cousin?/Or both?"

The Trips asked once more.

"Not really, Boys."

Their mother said as the sighed again.

"It's someone who wasn't even a Kraken at all, and outta this world."

"Ok... what do you mean?"

Arthur asked.

"I think we rather show you."

Ruby said as the all raised their eyebrows while tilting their heads, then Ruby stepped aside and behind her revealed a large Blue Hedgehog who was minding his own business, then turned around to reveal himself to the rest of her family, whose eyes were wided and looking speechless, Sonic then chuckled a bit barely waving to them.

"Oh. that's what you meant."

Arthur said still having no words.

"Dad, Brothers, this is Sonic the Hedgehog."

Ruby introduced him.

"Yo."

He replied.

"A Talking Hedgehog!?/Now this the coolest thing ever!/And weird, not to mention weird."

"Heh, says the aquatic animals living on land that are supposed to be myths."

Sonic with the comback.

"Touché Blue guy!/I like him./Are we gonna adopt him?"

They said with Sonic sweat dropping by that last one.

"Well then, Welcome Mr. Hedgehog."

Arthur said shaking his hand.

"Please, call me Sonic."

"Who would name a hedgehog something like that anyway?"

"Zac!"

Ruby said, but Sonic didn't mind, then he caught the eye of something on the table and dashed over it with stars in his eyes, while also surprising the family, excluding those who already know, and the triplets with their eyes shining, that he has super speed.

"Whoa!! That's Why!"

Zac taking it back.

"Whoa, this yours little guy?"

Sonic asked as the meal looked like a chilli dog but it was found from the Ocean.

"Ah, I see you caught the eye of my famous dish, the "Gillman Sea Dog.""

Arthur said as the family then sat down for have their meal.

"What's it made out of?"

Sonic asked as Arthur chuckled.

"You don't wanna know, a chef's secret."

He said as he shrugged his shoulders and tried it anyway, soon with one bite, Sonic eyes popped out.

"Wow! This is actually good!"

He said eating the rest of it in one swallow.

"Though prefer Stick Snacks more, But That's How Ya Do It!"

Brill said having his with one swallow and it was gone.

"Nice to see some who eats like Brill."

Ruby said with a sweat drop, soon Sonic was licking the plate with more showing as he then squealed like a girl, and chowed down on more of it, same with Brill.

"At least save some of us."

Sam said, soon Sonic was sucking what was left over on his fingers.

"My complements to the chef."

Sonic said leaving Arthur a good review.

"Thank you, that actually... means alot."

Arthur said, wiping a tear off him, Sonic was stuffed, then Jake was about to have a bottle, till it slipped and bout to hit the ground, Sonic then noticed and timed stopped for a second as he quickly caught it before it was about to hit the floor, then time went back to normal.

"Whoa, this yours little guy?"

He asked giving it back to Jake, and patting his head.

"You know how to handle kids really well, do you?"

Agatha asked.

"Let's just say I'm familiar with brotherly love."

He said as Ruby started to think about her relationship with her brothers, speaking of, the triplets caught his act and realized he was quick.

"How fast are you?!/Faster than are race car?/a fighter jet?/Time itself?!""

The triplets asked about his speed.

"Yeah, you could say that."

"So cool!"

The Trips said with stars in their eyes.

"Boys! Sorry about them."

Agatha apologized for their obsession behavior.

"No worries, it's all good."

"But in that case, it'll probably be about time we started to talk about each other."

Ruby suggested.

"I was thinking the same thing."

Sonic agreed, soon he and the Gillmans finished dinner and went into the living room to talk about one another.

"So, as you know, we're Kraken, we are from a Royal Family that turn into Giants."

Agatha explained.

"Well, only the women do, the men just become older, rounder versions of ourselves."

Brill added as the triplets once again sighed by that.

"Anyway, we protect the ocean and it's creatures from tyrant monsters that wanna control the ocean, like the mermaid queen, Chelsea... Nerissa... whatever her name is."

Ruby added.

"Wait, you mean that red head chick is a Mermaid? And evil? Isn't she your friend?"

Sonic asked.

"I said ex Bff."

She sighed still feel like being scarred through the heart after the betrayal, Sonic could see it, but didn't wanna bother to ask as he somehow knows it's THAT personal.

"Now we like to know your story, please?"

Agatha asked.

"Alright then, as you know, Sonic's the name, and speed's my game, I've been fighting for my home planet, protecting it and it's creatures along with my friends since I was just a kid, somehow like you guys, facing tyrant enemies of my own, from genies, to monsters, to robots, to literal gods living inside the planet's crust, long story, don't ask. Oh! And a psychopathic scientist that wants to control the world, all the time, probably like your mermaid nemesis, but spoiler alert, all he ends up getting is a foot mark that was kicked in his butt, by yours truly."

Sonic finished pointing at himself with a shining smile.

"Cool!!"

the triplets said with their eyes shining even more.

"I see, now then, if that's the case, then how did you get the ability of a giant kraken?"

Arthur asked.

"Well, the last thing I remember is that I ended up in water when I came into the other side, I tried to get to the surface, but I got stuck at the last second, and things started to go dark, but when I woke up, I was on land and found this."

Sonic finished taking off his glove showing tentacles for fingers, which shocked the family.

"How did you get this? And what do you mean end up on the other side?"

Ruby asked.

"That's it, I don't know, earlier back on my world, my friends and I were having a beach day and then another friend came by and told me there was an energy source coming, we looked over into the water and saw something glowing from underneath, and out bursted a beacon of green light and created a vortex, I saw my friend about to fall in, I ran over to catch her and threw her out of it, but I couldn't save myself, so I fell in, and that's how I ended up here."

"So... what exactly is your plan now?"

Ruby asked again.

"Simple, I find the Chaos Emeralds, and then I'll be on my way outta here."

"What are these... Chaos Emeralds?"

Sam asked tilting her head.

"Oh, just 7 mystic gemstones that glow, they actually came in the vortex with me, probably."

He said not remembering if they did, but it made Brill remember something.

"Oh, so that's what this thing is."

He said bringing out the Cyan Emerald he found before coming to land, surprising the family, except Sonic.

"You found one!"

He said.

"I meant to show it to Ruby when I came onto land before, but it slipped my mind."

"Shiny!"

Max said.

"So that's it? Just like that?"

Ruby asked.

"Yeah, I tried searching the whole town for them, but found nothing, so maybe I'll have better luck tomorrow, but I do have a question."

"Yes?"

Agatha approved for the Hedgehog's question.

"What were those things that almost attacked us, earlier?"

"What things?"

Zac asked.

"I don't know, they looked like a Kraken but not giant, and they were green giving a glow."

He said describing it.

"Oh yeah, I almost forgot about that."

Ruby remembered, so did Agatha and Brill.

"I still don't know what that was, either."

Agatha remembering back to time in the ocean when she has encountered lots of creatures, but not the recent ones though.

"Whatever they were, we now know they aren't so friendly."

Brill added.

"Still, this is still alot in one day, from me coming here, to getting tentacles for hands, losing the Emeralds, once again, and now green freaky creatures."

Sonic rambling about today with Ruby thinking.

"Hmm... I might know someone who can also help about what's going on here."

"Oh really?"

He asked as she nodded.

"But like you said, tomorrow would be best."

She said as Brill yawned.

"Welp, Guess I'm gonna head out now, it is getting late, night fam."

Brill said as he left for the door.

"Brill?"

He stopped by the words from his sister.

"Forgetting something?"

"Oh yeah! Here ya go, blue."

He remembered the Chaos Emerald and tossed it to Sonic.

"Thanks, big guy."

"Oh, and if you ever wanna find me, just swim 50 paces to the left of the Northeast canyons, turn sideways then dive exactly 10 paces down, you know I always forget to get directions, and the ocean is truly, infinite... welp, later!"

He said closing the door with some of the family being annoyed by his personality, soon later, the family was, about to settle in for the night, Sonic was settling in on the couch.

"Thanks again for letting me crash here, temporarily."

"Of course, and don't worry, it shouldn't be long for this to be..."

Ruby saw that Sonic was already out.

"...Over, night blue blur."

She said, turning off the lights and went upstairs for bed, the scene closes as we see Sonic's hand glowing from the inside of his glove.
