It was dinner time now, but Henri still wasn't hungry as he usually was. He was still too sad about Charlotte.
"Hey, Henri. It's dinner time," Moses said. "You can go get Charlotte if she feeling hungry.
"I'm not feeling hungry, but I do want to see Charlotte. Let me go up there." Henri headed up the stairs to check on Charlotte. He didn't want her to feel sad and alone, not on his watch. He knew at that moment all that mattered was being there for the little girl, and to make her feel welcomed and happy.
Henri went up the stairs and could hear a little girl crying. It seemed to come from the first room on the right. He came into that room and saw Charlotte curled up in the corner, sobbing into knees. Just seeing her made Henri's heart ache. He gently went over to the girl and sat down beside her.
"Tout va bien, Charlotte. Everything's going to be okay, I'm here for you."
Charlotte then stopped crying and look up at Henri, her face wet with tears.
"What are you doing here? Leave me alone."
"Charlotte-"
"I said leave me alone!" Charlotte got up and ran out of the room.
"Charlotte, wait!" Henri went after and followed her into the other room, but she kept running for her. After a small chase, he caught up to Charlotte and grabbed her arm. Charlotte struggle to get out of his grip.
"Let go of me!"
"Just let me talk to you."
"I don't want to talk to you, I want to be left alone."
"s'il vous plait, stop pushing me away. I know how you feel, Charlotte. Just let me in, please."
Hearing those words comforted Charlotte. She finally stopped struggling and sobbed into Henri's chest hugging him tight. They both sunk to the floor in their embrace.
"Tout ira bien, Charlotte. Trout ira bien. I'm right here, don't you cry. I am right here. Tears streamed down Henri face as well as he delivered soothing words to the little girl, feeling and sympathizing to her pain.
Eventually after a fee moment, Charlotte's tears started to dry up.
"Are you feeling better now", Henri said as they let go of each other, Charlotte head on his shoulder.
"Much better," Charlotte smiled. "Way much better."
