"RWBY" Season One Core Cast First Thoughts
"Welcome ladies, I'm so happy you all could make it to First Thought." Mary turned to her guests. "Would you all like to introduce yourselves to the fans at home?"
"Hi! I'm Rosey Belle, and I play Ruby Rose." Rosey wore a beautiful black and red dress with a red cape.
The next woman was in a lovely white dress with a small tiara. "I'm Blake Cumberbatch and I play the Heiress Weiss Schnee."
"Hello, I'm Tara Payne and I play Blake Belladonna." Unlike the previous two she wore a slick purple dress suit.
"Heyo, I'm Barbara Young and I play the awesome Yang Xiao Long." Barbara had chosen to forgo formality and wore a pair of jeans with a yellow button up.
"And congratulations on finishing season one of RWBY." Mary said and the cast started thanking her all at once, each in their own special way.
"So, Rosey as leader of the team and the namesake of the show, how are you feeling after finishing this first season?"
Rosey smiled. "Gosh it's a bit overwhelming actually. Like, it's done. It's out there. I see people posting and tweeting or whatever about it, it's all so crazy."
"My little niece has been running around bragging that her aunty is the mean one on RWBY," Blake chimed in.
Barbara let out a good laugh. "That's adorable."
"Has anyone else's family been being braggadocios?" Mary asked probing for more answers.
Tara shook her head. "Mine has. But my parents won't stop talking about their actress daughter."
"My dad watches the show out of support, but he isn't really into High Action Fantasy. He's a western kinda guy," said Rosey. "My mom on the other hand keeps calling all my aunts and telling them."
"My dad is the one of the stunt coordinators," Barbara shrugged. "So, most of our talks is about work."
"Speaking of real-life things ending up in the show, Tara how does it feel to play a character that shares names with two of your co-stars."
"Oh, for heaven's sake." Blake covered her face with her palm.
"I'm glad you asked." Tara smiled as she turned to the now hiding Blake, leaning in to invade her personal space. "It's the cause of many bloopers, Blake do you want to add anything?"
"I'm trying!" Blake slid down her seat. "I have been Blake far longer than I've been Weiss, so I can't help but look when my name is called."
"It was so funny during the time when the girls were looking for my character and Blake would, not three seconds after calling out for Blake the Character, would answer Rosey when she called out." Tara explained. "It was funny watching from the side lines."
Blake covered her face with both hands, getting a hearty laugh from the others. "Stoooop! It's going to be all over the bloody blooper reel."
Mary turned to the smiling dark haired woman. "Rosey, I see you brought a cape one of Ruby's signature items. Is that one from the set or?"
Rosey pulled her cape to be out in the spotlight. "Nope, I actually got this from a fan. It was during a convention I was at, it was… which one was it? Comic-Con or RTX?"
"It was RTX." Barbara looked down.
"Right! Right!" Rosey giggled. "It was a young cosplayer, she was in a Ruby cosplay and she noticed I didn't have a cape so she gave me hers. It was hard to refuse but in exchange this has become my own personal Ruby Rose cape."
"Aww that's so cute!" Tara said as she looked at the cape.
"It is." Mary looked down the line of ladies. "So with everything all wrapped up, Ladies, Tell me. Who's the funniest person on set?"
"Chris." Rosey said with zero hesitation.
"I agree," Blake smiled. "It was hard not to laugh doing scenes with Chris, especially since he had to flirt with me in the worst ways possible."
"Chris plays Jaune, right?" Mary asked.
"Yup, He is just a riot."
"Hmm for me it's Blake." Tara pointed her thumb at co-star. "She is just a naturally adorable person and I find that funny."
"Nooooo." Blake whined gaining a giggle from Tara.
"If I had to pick, Li is sneaky funny." Barbara bobbed her head from side to side. "Like he does things when no one is looking, like he loves doing the bunny ears behind someone and he just looks so smug while doing."
Rosey looked down the line at Barbara. "Really I never noticed."
"I have pics, I can send them to you later."
"Send them to me too," Blake chimed in. "I want to see Li being sneaky on set since I don't get to do many scenes with him."
"Speaking of doing Scenes with one another, who do you wish you had more scenes with?" Mary asked.
"Do more scenes with?" Rosey mumbled out as she leaned back to think, looking up.
"Tony, I wanted to do a scene with Tony so badly, but Tara was hogging him all to herself." Barbara turned to face an offended looking Tara.
"Take that up with writers." Tara laughed out. "It's not my fault they paired up with up."
"You even got to do the really cool fight scene too!" Barbara turned back to Tara. "I was so cheated in those last few episodes."
"For those who don't know Tony plays Sun Wukong on RWBY." Mary added context.
"He's also a former stunt man, like me." Barbara exclaimed. "Hopefully next season we can fight together or, if the writers love me, each other."
"I'm sure they will come up with something." Blake said looking down at Barbara.
"Oh! Daisy!" Rosey's outburst caused Blake to jump, which made Tara laugh.
"How you didn't get my role I will never know." Tara teased, poking Blake's cheek.
"Yeah, Daisy. She's Penny's actress and I just want to hangout with her more, she's so much fun!" Rosey turned to the camera and double handed waved. "Hi Daisy if you ever see this!"
Tara put her arm around Blake. "Once again, my pick is Blake. She's great to work with and I think we have some of the best scenes of the season."
"Right, you two have one of the most heated scenes in show. Pretty much screaming at one another. Any comment on it?"
"As soon as we heard cut, Blake would give me a big hug and apologize." Tara chuckled.
"I was so mean and just blatantly wrong!"
"There there, Weiss and Blake are still friends." Tara pulled Blake into a side hug.
"I'm pretty sure they are getting shipped now." Barbara added.
"Please, there are charts of how everyone is getting shipped." Rosey shook her head. "It's super cool seeing how invested all the fans are, but like each ship has a name, it's crazy."
"Really? Any names your favorite?" Mary asked.
"Nuts and Dolts, me and Daisy nearly died laughing in our trailer." Rosey said with a happy smile.
"Bumblebee is a good one, that's Yang's and Blake's ship name" Tara looked over to Barbara.
"They ship me with-? Oh the character!" Blake hid her face in her hands as the other laughed at her, her own giggles muffled.
"Agree with Tara, I really like bumblebee as a name." Barbara said fighting back laughter.
Blake pulled herself away from her hands. "I don't really know any of the ships, I didn't pay it any mind."
"I see. So, RWBY is a high action show. How have you been handling the heavy physical requirements?"
"It's super fun, even if I'm fighting air a lot of the time, I still get to swing a super big scythe." Rosey was the first to speak. "And if it's too dangerous my stunt double is super amazing to watch."
"Yeah, she's a gymnast, right?" Tara asked.
"Mhm, Ashley is so cool, I was amazed watching her fight the goons in the first episode."
"Speaking of, does anyone have any favorite fight scenes?"
Blake smiled. "Oh I can answer this one first. Mine is my trailer fight, against the big armor guy who we lovely name Stephen."
"Aw yeah, same my trailer fight was so fun!" Barbara chimed in.
"I enjoyed the Fight against the White Fang, Cody and Tony are really fun to work with." Tara answered.
"Cody plays an amazing Roman, he just brings so much charm to the character." Rosey quickly jumped in. "Umm I really enjoyed the whole emerald forest fight, even if the Grimm are CGI we got to do some many cool wire stunts. Barbara was actually doing the flips and tricks during the launch scene."
"On a green screen and with a wire but yeah they let me do most of my own stunts." Barbara admitted. "Hopefully next season brings more action, cause me and Blake hardly got to do much, not saying it was fun but man I'm just ready for more."
"I'm sure the writers won't let your talents go to waste." Blake smiles at her.
"Well ladies we are just about out of time, it's so wonderful to have you all here."
"Thanks for having us." Blake says.
"Yeah, it's so fun getting to do interviews." added Rosey.
"I can't wait to see you all again when the next season comes out."
