Calm

When you first look at me
You can tell I like my games;
You would think it strange
When I do not want to play.

And yet I find myself
Sitting way up here
Underneath a cloud filled sky
Where the air is crisp and clear.

Below me are the others
Doing whatever they please,
For we have all been working hard of late
And Wu allowed us this day of ease.

So I sit here writing
Of the calm I feel inside,
Of the time I've taken just to stop
And to fill myself with pride.

Pride for the friends I've got,
And how made them somewhat on my own.
Pride for in such short a time
That friendship seemed to have grown.

And through the years it grew some more,
Until there was more I felt.
Where friendship became more familial,
And trust and love were freely dealt.

Yet a part of me still wonders
If I will soon be found,
If someone will come join me
Fuelled by this natural sound.

The quiet whistle of the wind,
The laughter of my friends,
I feel the need to capture this,
For tomorrow this will end.
