And welcome to another one of my Players In YGGDRASIL stories that is either a self-insert power fantasy that is basically an inferior version of the Gamers series that you guys made and thought, 'Who the hell is this guy? What the hell is he writing? Is it even that good? Or could it ever possibly be this more cringe?' or an idea that revolves around fixing something or anything and failing miserably at that...
Whoever is asking, by the way...
Now, I will say this but I appreciate how far community have evolved in the Gate stories they make...
I have read, like, dozens upon dozens of the much older Gate Fanfiction and Crossovers at the time and did you know how... samey, it is?
There was that one story I read, the Strike Witches/Gate crossover and I have no idea what the hell am I reading...
I mean, isn't Strike Witches that anime where prepubescent girls with no pants used devices that allows them to fly and kill aliens and...
You know what? I don't want to know because of how it just rips the plot with little sense and context and just puts it in the appeal of the author...
At the time, I didn't know anything about it as I enjoyed reading but looking back at it now, it's cringe...
And of course, there are, like, dozens upon dozens of Gate FanFic that becomes far too much to write something with unnecessary expositions and the overall cliche of things as well as political viewpoints, author tracts and whatever they have to put in the story...
It just comes across as redundant...
Hell, someone has made a Gate and Warhammer 40k where the Tyranids are the main protagonist and you know, the author had basically made it very intentional on how he follows the same formula and then, made it look cringe when it is used by the Tyranids...
See, what this guy has made?
So, it is with a great smile that I appreciate how the authors has taken the bravery to make a far more compelling story in comparison to canon such as 'Gate: War of Two Worlds' where it expands the lore, the story, the character development and the main character NOT ACTING LIKE A PATHETIC DUMBASS!

Anyway, in this story and like every story I made in my Players In YGGDRASIL, I will make sure that this isn't some Mary Sue story that borders on cringe because Mary Sues are cringe and the MCU should just shut it with their Marvels or whatever...
I mean, seriously...
Natasha Romanoff is a far better female character than Captain Marvel and at least she isn't boring...

I shall say this about the story and say that you will still be prepared for an expansion and battle, more curb stomping of evil Roman-esque barbarians, a certain prince of shit being treated like a chew toy, takes names, kick ass, lots of battle, lots of world building, compelling lore, broken promises because if you know me, you know how lazy I am and finally, whatever you give me ideas on the story itself...

Earth...
A planet that stood for untold millennium and a planet where it holds the only life in the galaxy...
A planet inhabited by many things such as plants, animals and finally, humans...
Humans weren't always starts off as a highly advanced civilization they were once before and were always and have been, primitives who only know the most simplistic functions in surviving the harsh wilderness in the era of the primordial age where survival is of the fittest...
Humanity were living a life of being scared and the reality of the harsh and cruel nature of what's to come...
Then comes beings who saved humanity in their darkest hour...
Humanity thought of these beings as indescribable and divine beyond their mind can comprehend and they were seen with awe, fear and finally, respect...
These beings are seen by the early humanity as Gods and through their guidance, they have catapulted the primitive humanity into a golden age of peace and prosperity where they give humanity the skills and the power to grant them anything to survive and prosper against the primordial nature of Earth...
From then on, humanity continue to think, to know and to worship the Gods that had saved them and finally give them the ability to think and to advance themselves into a civilization for themselves, creating weapons, knowing skills and becoming stronger, smarter and more knowledgeable as the centuries have passed...
And the Gods have made great strides in what they taught as they are seen as respected beings responsible for their Golden Age...
However, thought the Gods of great power who exist in eternity where humanity are still mortal and finite, such an existence has made them grew decadent and corrupt as once, the Gods care for humanity as it is their responsibility, now they only see humanity as tools for the Gods' respective ambitions and wants and thought they are once responsible for bringing humanity to a Golden Age of Peace and Prosperity, now they are using humanity as their slaves and catapult them to a Dark Age of Divine Right.
Humanity, unable to resist the enslavement and control of the Gods, are now living a life where their worth is only if they are useful to the Gods and that the lives of man are miniscule are in comparison to the might and power of Gods and their all-eternal divinity...
War fought as the Gods used their human worshippers to go on crusades against one another, committing sacrifice after sacrifice as their only knowledge is to be useful to the Gods, die in glory for the Gods and served the Gods, no matter how much they put all of humanity in an age of eternal warfare between bickering Gods who do not care of their worshippers, only that they are worshipped and of course, die for them and that's it...
But as the age comes forth and the Gods continue on their cruel decadence and humanity still believe in only their worth are in the eyes of the beings they worshipped no matter how much misery these Gods have committed, another being emerged from the countless battles, warfare and sacrifice that has wrought upon Earth...
No one knows who he is...
No one knows what he is...
All that they know is that he is called, Cypher, an entity so mysterious and enigmatic that not even the Gods have any knowledge of who or what Cypher is...
But all they know is that Cypher is a being that shall destroy everything that the Gods have built in the culture and tradition they had provided upon humanity in return for their eternal servitude to die by the Gods' name upon their glory...
The Gods believed that their divinity is more than enough to crush this being without difficulty, maybe sent a few of their armies, the monsters they created and or some apocalypse to put an end to Cypher and what he dared to do upon their eternal rule...
Yet, everything they done, it did little and Cypher is proven to be a being that shouldn't be underestimated, with powers that eclipse even their divine power and of course, the ability to actually kill a God...
Their pride may not make them admit it but they fear death and to see a being capable of not only able to fight the Gods where even the clash between the Gods are not able to kill each other, even to the brink of death where Cypher can do it without any effort, whatsoever...
And Cypher...
He continues to evolve humanity, teach them to open their mind to their full strength and potential, becoming more than just weapons, tools and resources for their entitled masters and teach them that they are the ones that controls their fate, not the Gods themselves...
From then on, centuries have passed and humanity has advanced themselves to become what it truly is to be human and as centuries have passed and the Gods, even those who are unfortunately still refused to abandon their blind faith, religious dogma and zealotry to the Gods that are uncaring of mortal kind, are eliminated, one by one...
All the while, Cypher taught humanity everything to make humanity evolved and advance to the Modern Age of Reason, where humanity has grew out of their superstition and become a dominant species where they're the ones that controls the fate, not those who are in power...
As for Cypher, he didn't ask to be worshipped and whatever he did, Cypher erased the memory of what he did upon humanity, making all of humanity only remember what was once their past legends, now turned into myths made up by a few eccentric people with an artistic sense of knowledge of the history itself...
Nobody knows what happened to the being that gives humanity the reason, the intelligence, the thought, the empathy, the adaptability and more as humanity just minds their own business, doing their own act, both good or ill because, for as long as freedom exists, it is the right for humanity to have hope in their potential place upon Earth...
But thought Cypher leave humanity to their own business, it doesn't mean that he isn't truly gone and in another world, another planet and another dimension, whichever to actually called it, where it falls to the same trappings as Earth once has during the Dark Age of Divine Right, Cypher shall once again protect humanity from the horrors of entitled Gods and their oblivious human slaves...
For Cypher planned for this...
For Cypher have predicted for this...
For Cypher will make sure... that Earth shall not suffer the same fate as the Earth he once knew...
No more corruption...
No more decadence...
Only...
Reason...
Well, that is as far as the prologue goes...
Once again, sorry that it comes across as short and of course, there are words there that just comes across as unintentionally funny that you might think, 'What the hell is the author writing? Did he got drunk or something and think that creating this flowery grammatical would actually be interesting or something?'
Yeah, well...
I got a lot in my plate, alright and not all of us here are master writers who know what they're doing...
I am basically just one guy who can't keep their head in together, just because and if you guys want to support this idea then go for it, nobody's stopping you...
Well, anyway...
