Chapter two:

AN:

There will be mentioned horrible parents stuff and a brief mention of pedo type thing. None of that stuff will ever be brought up beyond the small mention in this chapter. Feel free to skip this chapter because of it.

I am serious that the small mention is going to be the only time this sort of thing comes up in this story.

Just wanted to let you know and if you need to I will see you maybe in the next chapter.

Kaoru.

Kaoru blinks awake realizing that it is still late as it is still dark. He also notices that Daiki is still asleep. He sits up trying to figure out what had woken him up. He blinks as he comes to realize that he can hear some crying. He gets out of his shared bed with his husband and follows the crying. He arrives to where the two children are calling their room. He carefully opens the door peeking inside spotting Kayson holding Rowan close who is crying.

"Shh. It was just a bad dream." Kayson tells his sister in a soothing voice. "They're not here anymore."

Kaoru feels bad for the two. He lightly knocks causing them both to jump and look to him tense. "Sorry for scaring you." He opens the door fully to make sure that they can see him with the glow of the soft light of the hallway. "Can I come in?"

Kayson hesitates a moment before finally giving a nod.

Kaoru heads over and sits on the bed by the two siblings. "Bad dreams?"

"Mommy wanted to get me." Rowan sniffles making Kaoru's heart break a little at the implications of the abuse they must have suffered.

"They're far away now. They aren't coming back. That nice judge promised." Kayson shushes his sister gently.

Kaoru carefully extends a hand gently placing it on Rowan's back rubbing it a little. He smiles softly as he feels her relax as she realizes that he is indeed not going to hurt her. "We won't ever let anything like that happen to you again. No matter what." He promises as Rowan looks to him with a tearful peek from where she is curled up against her brother. "They won't be allowed here and if they try anything I'll have them arrested." He hopes that his words will soothe the poor child.

Kayson looks a little somber and it does worry Kaoru a little.

Kaoru gets an idea of what might help. "Here." He offers to take Rowan and Kayson lets him though watches him closely. He holds Rowan close to him so she can rest her head on his shoulder if she wants, while almost sitting in his arms with her front facing his own. "There was one way my brother used to soothe me when I had any bad dreams." He tells them and he hopes that he can still remember all of the lyrics. He starts to gently sing Lullaby of the moon by David Vitas ft. Elsie Lovelock. He had later found a version that sounded like how his brother used to sing it on youtube by Pandora Journey. He manages to sing it all the way through and finds that Rowan is peacefully asleep sucking her thumb by the end of the song. He gently lays her down tucking her in. He can't stop smiling and even turns as Kayson leans against his arm.

"Can I tell you something?" Kayson asks quietly and Kaoru nods his head. He lets out a breath and looks down. "Mom and dad weren't all that nice to us. But we had a roof over our heads at least. I knew I had to do something when dad started talking about selling Rowan to others for a night each. Saying the extra money would be great for the family and that she was in her good looking years."

Kaoru's smile drops at this. He also has to force back a disgusted shiver.

"I started regretting my choice after we were put in the orphanage where we saw other siblings get separated. I was so scared what was going to happen to us."

Kaoru gently reaches over and uses a gentle hand to smooth Kayson's hair. "Nothing like that is going to happen to you two. That is horrible to me." He admits and Kayson hesitantly nuzzles Kaoru's arm. He gently strokes Kayson's cheek in a more parental way. "We will protect you both. I swear that to you."

Kayson does look way more relaxed and even yawns.

Kaoru gently helps him to lay down by his sister and tucks him in. "Sleep well Kayson. Your new family will never hurt you like that." He soothes while gently smoothing Kayson's hair until the other falls asleep. He leaves the room carefully closing the door and he heads back to his and Daiki's room. He finds that his husband hasn't even stirred. He shrugs it off as it isn't that big of a deal. He lays down in bed and tries to fall asleep though the information Kayson told him keeps him up for a bit. He finally ends up falling asleep when his body becomes too tired to stay up any longer.

….. It has been seven years since Kaoru and Daiki adopted the two children….

The two children have settled in their lives pretty good and have been quite happy.

Kaoru even finds plenty of joy in the two children.

The visit from the orphanage even went so well that the staff member hardly stayed around seeing how genuinely happy the two children were.

"Hey darling!" Daiki comes over while Kaoru is sitting on the couch watching the two siblings play together. He sits down next to his husband who turns to him. "I know I have this big meeting and things will be a bit busy here as I work on securing a deal with a great company for one of my biggest projects yet. So I got you all tickets to go to a theme park." He shows Kaoru the tickets which is to Tokyo Disneyland. "I figured that the kids could make some wonderful memories there. I'm sorry I won't be joining but at least they will have one of their parents with them. I even booked some great rooms in the resort for you three to stay. I also assigned some staff to help tend to any needs you'll have as well as some protection from our very own security. I wanted to make sure that your trip goes very well."

Kaoru smiles widely and hugs his husband. "Aww. You didn't have to do this!" His mention gets a chuckle from Daiki as he is embraced by the other.

"Nonsense. I want to give you and these kids the best life ever." Daiki assures Kaoru and the two share a kiss. "You guys leave tomorrow."

Kaoru turns to the kids. "Kayson. Rowan." His call gets the two to turn to him curiously. "We are going on a trip to Tokyo Disneyland." He sees both of their eyes widen in pure excitement.

The two get up and start bouncing around making Kaoru and Daiki chuckle in amusement.

Kaoru lays his head on Daiki's shoulder still smiling rather widely. "Thank you my love."

"Anything for you all." Daiki kisses Kaoru's forehead.

The day after Kaoru and the kids leave for the theme park…..

Daiki is sitting in his main office room in the house facing a lady across from him.

The lady is dressed in a black suit with a red tie and a knee length skirt with black tights as well as black leather high heel mid calf length boots. She has her brown hair pulled back into a bun which was styled into a rose like look. She has some makeup on including red lipstick and her hazel eyes stare at Daiki.

"So. What do you think of the idea? We can both profit from it. We both have the parts to make this a reality." Daiki points out and the lady hums in thought.

"Well it is tempting. However I think you may need to tempt me." The lady brings a hand to have her pointer by her mouth.

Daiki raises an eyebrow in interest. "Oh? And how might a bisexual man be able to do that?" He leans forward with his elbows on his knees.

"Send me letters. Charm me and we will see where this takes us." The lady hands Daiki a piece of paper then leaves making sure to sway her hips.

Daiki watches her go then turns with a smile. He quickly sends a text to his husband assuring him that he got the deal and that this project is going to be great. He doesn't have any doubts in his mind that he is so going to nail this.

The song was just something that I added and is a real youtube video. I was just having a little trouble deciding on what song Kaoru was going to sing and at the time I wrote this chapter I am a little sick still so I ended up going pretty simple.
