"Let's," Rio said back as they finished up their lunch-breakfast, so Brunch? Yeah this counted as Brunch, and so they head down into the courtyard of their apartment complex.
"D-pad set D-Gazer, set AR-Link Established, privacy mode enabled," The VI of the system said as they entered augmented reality mode.

"I am going to go first if you don't mind," Rio said.

"Draw!" Rio said. "First, I will go by activating my favorite Field Spell, Land of Frozen Flames!" At the entire area got turned into a beautiful frozen wasteland made from the purest ice and snow.
"And now your Water monsters count as two materials for an Xyz summon."
"You know it," Rio replied. "I Normal Summon Ice Knight to the Field, and I immediately I am going to use my Level 4 Ice Knight to create the Overlay Network, to Xyz Summon my Rank 4 - Snowdust Giant!" Rio said as a beast of ice appeared on her field. "Then I will set one card and end my turn."
"Then it's my turn, draw!" Kyoji declared as he drew Goukipole, meaning that he now had Terraforming, Strings, Spreading Spider Swarm, Dragonbite, and Beetrooper Sting Lancer. "I am going to activate the Spell Card – Terraforming, which allows me to a Field Spell from my deck to my hand. And it's going to be my new Beetroper Formation, Field Spell, which I am going to immediately activate."
At that, a crack formed in the ice, and then several more formed ass behind Kyoji; a literal army of insects crawled out of the ice to form a military formation.
"They are kinda cute," Rio commented. And yeah, he had to admit they were kinda cute looking.
"Though you won't find this one very cute," Kyoji said. "I Normal Summon Dragonbite to my field. Which immediately allows me to Special Summon a level 4 or lower insect monster from my hand to my field, and I choose Golipole." At that a stack of insects forming a poll manifested on his field.
"Oh, it's one of those Tuners. Are you going to Synchro Summon?" She asked.
"Sadly not, don't have any Synchro Monsters that match the level currently on my field. But instead, I am going to activate the Spell Card – Spreading Spider Swarm, which allows me to Special Summon an Insect Monster from my hand. And I choose my new Beetrooper Sing Lancer," Kyoji said as a mechanized wasp appeared on the field with green energy stingers. "And then he is summoned to the Field; I can add a Beetroper Spell to my hand from my deck."
"Beetroper Landing," Rio stated as Kyoji revealed the card to her. "That was their fusion card, right?"
"Yes, and I will activate it, by fusing together the three Insect Monsters on my Field and the one in my hand I can Fusion Summon Ultra Beetrooper Absolute Hercules to my Field!" Kyoji declared as his monsters melded together.
And then an absolutely massive insect appeared from the sky, a Hercules Beetle kitted out in advanced weaponry that did not belong on an insect, now hovered above him.
"That is really, really big," Rio said.
"That is the second time you've said that in less than 24 hours," Kyoji teased.
"…I will punch you in that giant dick, so you know what it feels to have a bigger target," Rio threatened, and Kyoji smiled nervously as he knew she was not joking.
"I was just teasing."
"So was I." She said back.
"Sure you were; well, since Gokipole was sent to the graveyard, I can add a level 4 Insect monster from my deck to my hand; I choose the best target, Shiny Black. "C" Squadder!" Kyoji declared. "And since it's a Normal Monster, I can Special Summon it, and upon doing so, I can destroy your Snowdust Giant!"
"I know that combo," Rio said as she had been on the receiving end of it many times.
"Now Battle Phase! Hercules! Attack Rio directly for game!" Kyoji declared as the giant beetle started changing up its energy canons.
"Don't get ahead of yourself Kyoji, I activate my Trap Card Ice Barrier!" Rio said. "This will reduce your monster's attack points to 0!"
"Sadly not, as after he Fusion Summoned, he is unaffected by the effects of other cards, until the end of my next turn!" Kyoji responded in denial.
"What! That is so unfair!" Rio said as she was blasted by Ultra Beetroper Absolute Hercule's attack, sending her tumbling.
Rio LP: 0

"Hey Rio, you okay?" Kyoji asked as he ran up to her.
"Yeah, I am fine, though that beetle of yours is pretty strong," Rio said back.
"Yeah, though, I was just lucky to open enough insect monsters to get him, and the combo that allowed me to get him and "C" out at once," Kyoji said. Though if this had been a duel back in his old world, she would still have 2000 LP remaining after "C" had attacked and allowed her to combo back with that ludicrous Field Spell of hers.
"Your deck gave you what you needed, isn't what duelist of old would say?" Rio asked. "But if you feel that way, let's go again. You've got way more things to test out than just that, right?"
"I do," Kyoji replied as their D-pads turned back on.
And like that, they spend most of the day dueling to get Kyoji used to his new deck, forgetting that they actually had to go to school.
Though it was used to them just skipping classes sometimes.
