"So, what's the emergency?" Reese could see that Garp was simply sitting in his chair. She didn't see anything amiss, and was a little perturbed that she had been freaking out for nothing. She noted Bogard's disapproving expression, and knew that the next time he was in charge of their workout, she'd have a tough go of it.
"Er, excuse me, I mean to say, Cooper reporting as ordered, sir!" she corrected.
"Stand outside," Garp muttered, and Reese's mouth dropped open in shock. She recovered quickly as Bogard moved to the door and she simply stood there in confusion. She had been with Garp long enough to know that answers rarely came when she demanded, so she stayed silent.
Garp looked at his recruit under hooded eyes, knowing he shouldn't be sharing what he was going to share. Deep down, however, he also felt that she was the closest thing he would ever have to having a grandchild take over his legacy in the Navy. Added to that, he knew that she may still take her chances on her own- leaving to find her family. It was up to him to convince her that she needed him- and it was now or never.
"Sit down Cooper, this will take some time."
Reese could hear the weariness in his voice, and moved to grab the nearest chair. Rather than sit several feet from the desk as it was positioned, she moved it closer, sitting directly opposite of him.
"Give it to me quick Gramps, then we'll deal with it," she said, her expression grim. She had no idea what was coming, but could feel it wasn't good.
"How much has Koby taught you of the Celestial Dragons?" Garp asked, trying to tread lightly.
"Enough to keep my distance, and… focus on who I'm really doing this job for," she replied slowly, gauging his reactions. Reese could tell from her time with him that Garp had no great love for those entitled people in Marie Jois, but would do his duty all the same. She wasn't foolish enough to say what she really thought of the world nobles however.
Garp nodded at her answer. "It isn't always the righteous path that we are asked to take," he said quietly, looking up at the door behind her. "and sometimes we of the Navy have to skirt the line in order to have justice."
Reese nodded, still confused, and Garp gave a big sigh.
"Long story short," he explained, "a Celestial Dragon in Sabaody decided to take some pirates that were imprisoned with her as uh… gifts for her family." He saw her eyes narrow, and left it at that. "Kuzan was able to switch the female prisoner with another prisoner," he was glad to see her smirk, but knew it wouldn't last- "but she ended up headed to Impel Down instead."
"That…" she was wondering why he was telling her this. "I suppose is a better alternative, but just barely. But why tell me-"
She looked at him, the anxiety apparent as he watched it sink in, and he could only nod. "Nothing is certain," Garp continued hastily. "But after seeing you again, he seems to think she may have been one of yours."
He held out a hand, thinking she was about to storm off, but she was merely looking at him with wide eyes full of fear and he had to remind himself how young she actually was.
"One of my sisters?" she whispered. "In Impel Down?" she looked around, then into her hands and took several deep breaths before finally looking back at him. "What… what can I do Gramps? Is there any way to be sure? And if so, which one? Kia was the only one that became a pirate that I know of…"
He sighed again. "I don't know," he answered truthfully. "If you are sent there, it means you were found guilty in your trial or confessed. No one has ever been released after the fact." He wondered if he should continue, but decided she was strong enough to hear it. "If it was the one with a bounty, she would have been held for execution, not sent to prison."
He tried to say it gently, but the truth wasn't always kind. He was secretly glad it hadn't been her. He couldn't lose any grandchildren, whether or not they were his by blood. He still didn't know how he was going to be able to stand and watch while Ace…
He broke off his train of thought, not even able to think of it. He glanced back at Cooper, wondering why she was so silent.
Reese was shell-shocked. She had heard stories about that prison. It was a threat to all pirates they captured- and most would rather be executed then go there- and often fought to the death to avoid it. It was a place where you were never heard from again; if even half the rumors were true, every day was a living hell for the inmates.
And one of her sisters might be in there? Unthinkable.
"We're heading back to headquarters," Garp continued, looking at her with pity. "And I'm going to try to convince Sengoku to let me visit the prison."
Her eyes flew up, hoping he was saying what she thought he was. But seeing that hope in her eyes had him shaking his head, crushing it before it had time to bloom fully.
It was quiet between them for some time. Finally Reese asked the only thing she could think of. "W… Why do that for me then?" she asked. "Why a visit?"
He looked away, and sighed again.
"I can't help him now," he answered. "But, its as you said- never give up, am I right?" he tried to give her a smile, but it came out flat. "I think I'd like to say goodbye at least. And perhaps we can discover if your sister is really there or not."
It was a little thing, but there was still a seed of hope. It's possible, Admiral Aokiji could have been mistaken… he's never met Ash or Dru before, so it's not like he'd know them on sight. She nodded slowly. "I… I think I'd like that, thank you," she answered and slowly rose to her feet. She wondered who this mysterious person was that Garp wanted to say goodbye to.
"It's not Luffy, is it."
It wasn't a question, but he could still tell what she was asking. He even told himself to just nod or wave her away. Yet, it was almost a comfort, knowing someone that could understand your pain exactly, without having to explain it. "His name is Ace," he answered. "The Fire Fist."
Her eyes widened, though not for the reason he thought. Whitebeard's crew was usually on the top of the wanted lists, and the Fire Fist was one that made headlines everywhere he went, so of course she knew of him. However, after leaving Kia she was privy to much more information than just that.
This was not only the man that Kia was crushing on, he was Luffy's adopted brother. Her mind whirled as she put together the connections. Since Luffy calls him brother, they probably grew up together, so he was also raised by Garp?! she thought.
Reese could see the feelings warring on his face, and determined she was right to think that the Vice Admiral thought of the pirate as family. Which in a convoluted way made him her family too. Sort of… she thought.
She may not have felt a brotherly sort of bond to the guy she had never met, but she felt all the pain that she imagined Garp was feeling. "He… he's in Impel Down also?" she ventured, wondering if he'd continue to be forthcoming.
He was quiet, but eventually sighed. "You'll find out sooner or later, so I may as well tell you," he murmured, leaning his elbow on the table, and resting his forehead in his hand. "He's scheduled to be publicly executed," he mumbled.
It was a surprise, yet again not. If Kia would be executed, then a catch as big as the Fire Fist demanded it, as something to show the citizens that the Navy was truly working to make the world a safer place. But he was also Garp's family, and Reese could empathize with how he was feeling. I've got to do something… she thought desperately. It's like he's given up, and I don't blame him. But there has to be something!
Knowing she'd need to think about this, she gave him a small bow, and a murmured, "I'm sorry." He didn't have to worry about her sharing what she had learned; he could see it on her face. She was already masking her emotions before she would leave.
"Oh, and one other thing," she said as she turned away from him towards the door. He could hear the stubborn edge in her voice that meant she wouldn't take no for an answer- the edge he had seen from the beginning, and enjoyed- most of the time.
"I'll be going with you into that prison, Gramps."
Part of her wanted to avoid Robin, to put off what she assumed she was going to be asked. Yet a small part of her wanted also to share her burden, and in her mind, Robin was the only one that would be able to not only keep her secret but be able to give sound advice on how to proceed.
With these two warring emotions, Kia decided to make a list, and hopefully she'd be able to have a better understanding of how to proceed without destroying the Straw Hat's pirates' journey. However, she hadn't gotten very far before she found herself doodling.
She couldn't continue like this. Worrying about what could happen versus what should happen was eating at her constantly. At least now they seemed to be back on track with the story.
But, maybe that's because of their plot armor… she wondered yet again. Maybe no matter what I do, things will happen as they are meant to, overall…
Kia shook her head, the circular arguments getting her nowhere. She looked down at her doodle of a skeleton with an afro, and thought that even through the worry, there was still so much to look forward to.
Robin stopped as she entered the bedroom, seeing the relaxed look of her friend. It was times like this that she could believe that Kia was only nineteen, as lately she had been so driven and tense that she had practically forgotten how to smile.
"Kia?"
Kia looked up, her breath catching as she saw Robin come into the room. Part of her knew this was coming, but she still dreaded what to say.
Robin gave a small smile. "I suppose you think I'm here to talk, but actually, Luffy wants you to go explore a ghost ship with him."
"Already?" she had hoped that they'd have more time sailing before running into Brook's ship. Once that happened, there would be no more time before Thriller Bark.
Robin sat fluidly, and Kia felt a momentary twinge of envy for the easy grace with which she moved. "You don't have to go, but Luffy said he was going right away, so if you want to, you should hurry," Robin said. "Though if not, we should have a few minutes to talk."
Kia thought it sounded easy enough; avoid the conversation by running off with Luffy. It's not like Robin is going to guess that I'm from another world or anything, she thought. But if I want help, Robin's the best person to go to… and if Nami and Sanji go with Luffy, we'd practically be guaranteed privacy…
Robin watched in amusement as Kia went back and forth in her mind, the expressions on her face making it easy to see what she was doing. But even she was surprised when Kia nodded and said, "Let's talk."
When she turned to face her, and looked at her expectantly, Robin deduced that she would be the one talking. She had thought of this conversation a few times before, so the words came easily.
"I'll begin by saying that as an archeologist, I have come upon things that I would have before denied existing- even since joining the crew. For example, reading about the Rainbow Mist had me skeptical and yet once we saw it for ourselves, I could hardly deny its existence, could I?"
"That's true," Kia replied.
"In fact, some people have even less knowledge of the world, and believe that the existence of devil fruits is merely a story," Robin continued. "What I am trying to say, is that just because you may believe something doesn't exist, does not mean that you are correct."
"I'd agree with that," Kia responded, enjoying that Robin never bluntly demanded answers.
"In fact, that was one of my first lessons," Robin said, her voice carrying the nostalgia as she thought back to her time in Ohara. "To keep my mind open to all possibilities, and only making deductions based on the facts in front of me… and even then, being able to adjust my mindset as new facts present themselves."
"That's hard for most people to do," Kia answered, feeling nervous. "To not only keep an open mind, but being able to change from what they know."
"Exactly," Robin smiled, grateful to have several people on her new crew that she could have intellectual conversations with. "I've spent much of our time together observing each of our crew members, and though I made rash decisions about them before, I much prefer learning new things and changing my perceptions of each of them.
"Some of those initial deductions were correct, such as Zoro's drive, or Nami's love of money; but as I learn more about you all, I see deeper connections, and the underlying reasons that those quirks are part of you."
"Okay…" Kia said, unsure of where she was going with this.
Robin gave Kia a genuine smile. "It's hard to objectively say exactly what I am thinking, because while you have demonstrated the ability to know what will happen in the future, as you once claimed to Spandam; I have seen you genuinely afraid or perplexed as to what may be happening around you."
Her gaze softened at seeing Kia stiffen. "And so, taking all this together, I began to think that you are someone linked to one of us- in that you are able to see only danger that may be coming for that individual. However, I must admit that I cannot figure out which of us that may be.
"I thought perhaps myself, seeing that you asked me not to leave the crew before Water 7, but learning of the times before I joined the crew, I would think it was Luffy, or even yourself."
Robin wished Kia would calm a little, but she sat as stiff as ever. "And then, when everyone lost their memories…" she paused at Kia's wince, but felt she should just get it all out. "You knew all of us, but you didn't remember traveling with us."
Her voice went lower and she leaned in to Kia. "I can only deduce that somehow you know each of us intimately, before you or even I ever joined this crew. And you somehow know some of the things that may be coming our way. The deduction I have made is…. are you from the future and somehow traveled in time?"
Kia was speechless. Now that she said it, Kia was able to understand how Robin reached that conclusion. Time travel wasn't a thing here, not something that she was aware of anyway. She had to wonder if someone had a Devil Fruit that could control time, and if it was somehow recorded in Ohara.
She knew she was quiet for too long, so she decided she needed to say something. "Uh… no," she finally spoke. "I mean, not that I know of," she added, suddenly wondering if that had happened too. When she had arrived here, the manga was just beginning the Wano arc, so perhaps she had also gone back in time- how am I supposed to know that?!
"Not that you know of?" Robin asked. "How could you not know?"
The moment had come, and Kia gave a sigh- ready to release it all. She just hoped Robin could understand it. "I'm not from here," she said quietly. "I'm not from any of the blues, nor the grand line, not from Marie Jois, or any place in this world," she stated softly, yet firmly.
Robin's eyes were wide, but she was staying calm, so Kia decided to continue.
"We don't know how we got here," she added. "We were sailing, got into a sudden storm, and then our instruments went wild, and we crashed into some corral." She glanced at Robin, wondering what she was thinking. "We swam to the nearby island, which we later found out was Tropska, in the South Blue. We ran into a man that I recognized from a story I was reading…" it sounds so LAME when I say it out loud!
"A story?" Robin asked.
"Yeah," Kia nodded, no longer wanting to share. "Uh, it was a story about a boy who wants to become king of the pirates." She nodded again at Robin's look, but continued. "I thought it was just a story… until I met the people that I read about."
"Ah…" Robin suddenly began to understand as things clicked into place. "So, you don't know if you traveled in time, because you were in the beginning of the story?" she asked. She still wasn't sold on this idea, but several oddities about Kia were suddenly making sense.
"Not the very beginning, no, but much earlier than where I had left off."
Robin wondered if this were an elaborate lie in order to not tell her about time travel. "You didn't finish the story?" she asked skeptically.
"Uh… it wasn't finished being written, so… no. And basically, I'm just trying to not mess up the story, that's all." She gave the older woman an embarrassed shrug. "And when we all lost our memories, I uh… thought I was dreaming."
Robin was thinking furiously again, wondering how in the world she should be taking this information. It still sounded to her as if Kia were actually from another time and was trying to make sure that nothing happened to affect her future. Except she doesn't know everything… she reminded herself.
"All right," Robin nodded, which had Kia gaping at her.
"You are my friend, and I trust you." Robin gave a little chuckled at the shocked look on Kia's face. "The problem that I see, Kia, is that just by being here, you are changing things," Robin stated. "We are obviously slightly different just by knowing you; having you here as part of us."
"I know…" Kia deflated, the worry coming back. "It's not that I can't change things, not really," she added. "My sisters are obviously changing things too, though they don't know how it was before."
"They don't?" Robin asked shrewdly. This is getting more and more interesting… she thought.
"No, they didn't read the story at all," Kia answered. "I just worry about someone getting hurt, or even killed-someone that shouldn't- because of me."
"I see…" Robin stated, her mind whirling with possibilities. "And you only know some things because the story followed Luffy?" she asked.
"Yeah," Kia mumbled miserably. She glanced up at Robin, looking as if she wanted to cry. "I really should leave the crew, shouldn't I?" she asked.
Robin was suddenly reminded of all the things that Kia had said during the time she was trying to leave the crew, understanding dawning. Kia hadn't wanted to leave- she thought she should, in order to protect the others. Guess we understand each other more than I realized.
Robin started giggling, which had Kia goggling at her. "What's so funny?" she asked, feeling confused and sad.
"I'm sorry," Robin answered, grabbing her hands and giving her a smile. "I just thought that we are so similar, trying to leave to protect the others from us."
Kia's eyes widened in shock. "That's not… but…"
"That's what I thought too," Robin answered gently. "But as everyone told me, I'll say the same to you. You belong here, with us, Kia."
Kia face dissolved into tears, not wanting to cry, but feeling as if she could finally listen to those words. Someone knew, and still wanted her to stay. It meant so much to her, and she hadn't even known that she needed to hear this.
"Oh, it's okay," Robin continued to pat her hand, letting her get the tears out. Not too long ago, Kia had done the same for her, and she felt so happy that she could return the favor. "What has you so worried Kia, really? Is it really about us getting hurt?"
"N-no…" Kia stuttered out as she calmed her breathing. "I mean yes, but I know everyone can handle themselves. In almost every situation, the crew seems to get out of it by sheer will power! I'm most worried that just my presence will skew that enough that there will be a point where the crew won't win."
"I see," Robin said calmly. "And why not the other way? That we can more easily win, because you are there?"
"I…." Kia frowned. "Maybe if I shared more information, we could," she said. "But I thought Luffy would be mad- like I'm ruining the adventure or something." She heaved a sigh. "And it could go worse. There was a point where I asked Usopp if he would want to know what would happen on an island before we got there."
Kia took a deep breath, wiping her face to try to hide the evidence of her tears. "After thinking about it, he said no, because he'd worry about not doing something right and messing it all up." She felt like she was staring holes in the floor, so she lifted her eyes again. "I can say that's exactly how I feel on every island that I recognize."
Robin stood up, hearing the yelling from above them. She held out her hand for Kia and helped her stand as well. "Should we experiment?" she asked, an excited twinkle in her eye.
"What kind of experiment?" Kia asked, steeling herself for what was to come.
"You tell me one thing that you would want to tell the crew," Robin stated, ignoring the screams from Usopp and Chopper freaking out. "And we'll see what effect it has." She gave Kia a smile, pulling her from her chair. "We'll discuss it afterwards, and decide if it is a good decision or not."
"Small things, or big things?" Kia asked, suddenly feeling as if Robin was carrying this burden with her now.
"The first thing that comes to your mind about the adventure," Robin replied. "Big or small, it doesn't matter. What's the first thing that pops into your head?" She pushed Kia towards the door, looking behind at the desk, seeing a list of sorts and a small drawing that made her smile.
Kia wanted to think about it, weigh the pros and cons and what not, but she hadn't had luck with that so far. So, she gave Robin's hand a tug to stop her walking just inside the doorway.
"Everything on the next island is only real because of devil fruits."
Nami had tried to pull Kia along as she headed down in the hold of the ship behind Franky, but Kia shook her head. The crew was excited and nervous, as was expected, especially after spending time with Brook, seeing a ghost, and then watching the skeleton race off on top of the water.
Brook had still been a surprise to Kia, even knowing what to expect. She had tried to picture the skeleton from her science class wearing clothes and moving around on its own, but the Afro really threw things off, especially seeing that it was actually attached to his skull. Her drawing had looked like a cartoon compared to the real him.
And of course, Nami handled all panty-related questions that came from him with violence.
"So strange…" she murmured to herself, as she kept pace on deck with Zoro. She needed to stop worrying about what would happen, and just ready herself to be of help to her crew, hopefully keeping them from losing their shadows also.
Kia heard the joyful shouts and looked out to the water, giving a grin. It was really good to see the face of Merry again after all. And the cute little paddle boat was adorable as heck.
"I can't wait to ride it! I can't wait to ride it!" Luffy was shouting.
Hearing the scream, and watching Sanji freak out was just the beginning, she knew, and Kia began looking around for an invisible man, only to run into Zoro.
"Hey," he complained, grabbing her shoulder. "What's going on with you?" he asked.
"N-nothing," she answered, just as the anchor started to lower. Then the hatch in the grass opened.
"What did that?" Franky asked. "Who's messing around with the Sunny?" he demanded, looking around at each of them. Then Luffy's face starting stretching, and he was sent sprawling.
"Maybe it's a curse from that ghost," Robin pondered aloud.
"Be serious," Zoro replied.
Robin looked at Kia then, an eyebrow raised. Before she could say anything, they both flinched at the growling noise coming from behind them.
"Uh… Zoro?" Kia whispered, grabbing his arm.
"What?" he asked, even as his sword flew from its sheath. "What the hell?!"
Kia gulped, thankful that Franky saved Luffy from being a kebab, but her eyes kept darting around, hoping to avoid the awful invisible guy. She didn't wish him on Nami, but knew it was the main reason Nami was kept safe through all this.
Robin peered at Kia, knowing that their fight had begun. "I heard something," she spoke up. "It sounded like some kind of beast growling."
"Then there's an enemy on this ship," Zoro declared, ready for a fight.
"The fog's so thick I can't see anything!" Franky complained.
"UH!"
They all turned to Robin, seeing her struggle against something they couldn't see. Kia went running, even as Sanji started cursing. Kia jumped, trying to tackle someone that was invisible, but felt confident she knew where he was.
Luffy took in Kia tackling Robin to the ground, even as Sanji tripped over his own feet and landed on the ground next to them. "Ooh…" he said, feeling bad for them.
"Ugh, sorry Robin," Kia apologized, trying to get up without hurting the other woman.
"Here, let me help you," Sanji practically picked Kia up, then grabbed Robin's hand to help her up. "You ladies alright?"
"Yes, I think so," Robin answered. "Do you have a handkerchief I can borrow?" she asked. Sanji handed over his pocket square happily, and Robin started wiping her neck, nodding at the grimace Kia was giving her.
"What happened?" Luffy asked, seeing what they were doing.
"I think the invisible beast licked her," Kia answered.
Robin nodded, even as Luffy made a face and Sanji started swearing revenge on the perverted invisible guy, while Zoro pointed out the cook was a pervert too, though under his breath.
"What's its game?" Zoro grumbled, looking back and forth. "If it was trying to kill us, it could have done so a hundred times already."
"Seems it's trying to keep us on the ship," Franky replied after they all watched Sanji try to jump overboard and get slammed into the ship. "Which means it's probably not just some beast." Then he stopped, looking around as a growling sound was permeating the air around them.
"That does sound like some kind of beast," Luffy commented. "Is it an animal ghost?" He grabbed his hat, and readied his fist. As soon as whatever was making that sound showed itself, he'd be ready.
"All I hear is flapping," Sanji responded as he pulled himself upright. "Like… birds?"
Kia's gaze whipped around to him, and followed his gaze. " What is that?!" she screamed. Why are things changing?! her mind questioned furiously. "It's like a cloud!"
The shape moved quickly, and they each gave yelps as it moved into place above them. The rapidly flapping wings sounding like a thunderous wind.
"Kia!"
She heard the shout, but couldn't escape the swarm as it plummeted to her. She covered her head with her arms, hearing their screeches in her ears, and felt her hair and clothes fluttering in their wings. She screamed as she as bitten on the back of her neck.
It was only a moment, but it took another few seconds for her to realize that things had changed. The bats were gone, and she was now being held from someone behind her.
She looked out at her friends, seeing their angry faces, but they weren't looking at her.
"Who are you?!" Sanji growled.
"Who cares?" Zoro added. "Let her go, or you're dead!" Kia looked like she was going to pass out, he thought. What did that bastard do to her?!
"You always sneak out without telling me," the man spoke, and Kia shivered at the rasp of his voice.
"Who's he even talking to?!" Franky said angrily.
"But since you claimed that one, this one is mine." Kia felt herself shift, though she had no strength to even stand any longer. She could hear the yelling, and the flapping noise start again as she was lifted up in the air, and everything went black.
"Let her go!" Luffy demanded as the bats started flying away. "Gum-gum…"
"No, don't!" Sanji yelled, jumping in front of Luffy. He watched, ignoring Luffy's demands, as the dark group of bats flew back towards the island. He finally decided to answer, since his captain wasn't letting it go. "If you had hit the vampire, he would have dropped her. She was unconscious, and she would have drowned."
He looked forlornly at the area he had last seen the Mini Merry. "My beauties…" he lamented. "Now we have two to rescue!"
"Chopper and Usopp are out there too…" Zoro muttered, then stepped back as the captain and cook started arguing.
"Whoa, everyone hold on!" Franky yelled as the ship started rocking heavily. "Some weird waves from the wall over there!" He had interrupted the shouting from Luffy and Sanji as to what had just happened, but he didn't care.
The others steadied themselves, unsurprised when they felt the ship halt suddenly. "That was not normal," Zoro grumbled. He didn't like this helpless feeling, even knowing that Kia could handle herself, watching as a man had materialized from a group of bats, then getting away with Kia the same way was annoying. They hadn't even had a chance to fight him.
"Uh, sorry everyone, but it looks like we're stuck," Franky pointed over towards the huge cobweb that held several ships, including the Sunny and the Mini Merry. "I'd hate to see the spider that made this."
"Well then, we'd better get moving!" Luffy spoke up, seeing that his adventure was still going to happen. They could do both! "We'll have to save the others, so it'll take a while." He turned, raising a fist in the air. "I gotta grab some stuff. And Sanji! Pirate lunchboxes!"
"Looks like we're going aboard," Franky said as Luffy took off running downstairs. "I'll grab some extra cola."
Sanji and Franky walked off as well, and Zoro took time to look from the giant web, to the island.
"What do you see?" Robin asked, curious as to his methods.
"Both of our ships, and even that skeleton's ship are caught here," he answered, knowing she probably had already come to the same conclusions as he. "And right here is the entrance to the island," he indicated to the large archway labeled Thriller Bark. "I'm only surprised there aren't more ghosts gesturing us further into the trap they've set for us."
He looked back to her, wondering if she would tell him the truth. "And what's going on with Kia? She's acting strange."
"You've noticed too?" she asked, giving him one of her small smiles that he had a hard time reading. "Well we won't know for certain until we get her back," she continued.
"From the vampire?" he said dryly, not amused at Sanji and Luffy's theory of the man they saw. "I'm surprised you aren't saying how she'll be drained of all her blood," he gave her a dry look that went with his tone, surprised when Robin chuckled.
"I suppose that's one way to look at it," she admitted. "However, I believe Kia is more resourceful than that."
"That's the spirit, Robin my love," Sanji interjected as he came back with several packages of food. "We'll get them both back before anything happens to them."
"Then let's go!" Luffy called from the shore. "The ship isn't moving, so everybody's coming!"
"What's with the net?" Franky asked, pointing at the butterfly net Luffy was carrying.
"I'm going to catch me one of those ghosts!" Luffy declared. "Or something else cool!"
Franky gave a shrug to the others. "Well, we've already seen a talking skeleton, a ghost, an invisible man, and a vampire…" he said, as he walked over to the island's welcoming archway. "Who knows what else we'll come across."
