Later in the day, Casper was still in his room. His bruises were healed completely. He was still thinking about how he stood up to his uncle Stretch. Apparently, he had regretted himself for doing such a thing. It couldn't had got worse, right? The little ghost decided he should get out of the house because he needed some time of himself, to clear his mind. He went downstairs and approached his uncles.

"May I go outside, please?" The young ghost requested. The Trio exchanged glances before they decided.

"Fine, but be back before dark." Said Stretch.

Casper was grateful that his uncles let him go and he immediately went outside.

The young ghost was floating gently through the streets. He looked around. That would get his tough memories out of his head. Unaware of him, the teenagers were also floating around, chatting themselves. Casper heard their voices and was thinking of a way to not interact with them at all. He decided to hide behind a tree and was peeking out. The teens were focusing on themselves until Astrid saw Casper peeking out before he retreated back.

"Look over there." Astrid said to her friends. Torquil and Shade realized Casper was hiding behind the tree and they soon float slowly at the tree.

There, they found Casper.

"Do you really think you can avoid us?" Mockingly asked Astrid.

Her other two friends looked at Casper evilly. The young ghost tried to came up a plan on how to escape from them. Eventually, an idea sparkled in his ghostly mind.

"Hey, look over there!" Exclaimed Casper, pointing at a direction.

The teens followed Casper's finger and they looked away. This gave Casper the chance to quietly fly away from them. After a brief of distraction, the teens turned back and saw that Casper had slipped away. Enraged, they chased him. Casper was flying around the streets, while evading certain obstacles. The teens were also behind. Not long after, Casper reached the alley, hoping that would slow them down but he reached the dead end. The bullies also arrived, cornering the poor little ghost.

"Nowhere to run now, you coward!" Commented Torquil. He then grabbed Casper and threw him against the wall, much to their amusement.

Casper got up and sniffled a bit. It was painful for a little ghost as him. He even sheded tears.

"Please, just leave me alone..." Pleaded Casper. Shade grabbed him and punched him in the face. It was painful as well.

The teens were planning to do something even worse.

Meanwhile, the Trio was having a good time at the manor. They were unaware of the danger their nephew was facing.

"I never felt so relaxed before." Said Stretch, with a relaxing face.

"Yeah... 'Specially when Bulbhead is not around." Commented Stinkie.

Fatso, however, quickly changed the subject.

"Can we eat something?" Stretch and Stinkie looked at him.

"Ya serious, Fatso? Ya always hungry." Stretch said this in annoyance.

"But It's not my fault I'm always hungry!" Protested Fatso. Stretch then looked at Stinkie, curious if he also wanted to eat.

"I don't mind a little snack!" Stinkie said with a grin.

Stretch facepalmed himself, wondering why he was even stucking with two idiots as them. He always claimed that he was smarter than his younger brothers. But he decided to go along with the idea so his brothers wouldn't protesting.

"Fine, let's go get something to eat."

The Trio soon left the manor. Later, the three ghosts were floating around, having their stomachs satisfied after a meal.

"Now that's a lot more like it!" Stretch said, satisfied.

"Did ya see the look on his face?" Asked Fatso excitedly.

They apparently scared a hot dog vendor so they could get hot dog for "free".

"Yeah! I bet he had wet his pants!" Said Stinkie while laughing.

The Trio continued their stroll, unintentionally scaring some passerby on their way. They didn't cared about that though as they were still enjoying scaring humans, or as they were calling them "fleshies" or "bone-bags".

They reached an alley, the same one in which Casper and the bullies were currently in. Curious about it, they decided to float through it. As they were floating around, they saw figures at the distance. They got closer a bit and they saw the horrifying truth.

Casper was bruised and wounded and was shedding tears while the teenagers mocked him and were making fun of his distress.

"Look at you. You're such a crybaby!" Mocked Astrid.

The little ghost was overwhelmed by pain and humiliation.

"I can't... I can't take this anymore...!" Sobbed Casper as he broke down in tears.

The Ghostly Trio couldn't had believed their eyes. Their only nephew was tormented by those heartless bullies. That explained why their nephew was acting so strange. He was hiding the truth this whole time.

"Is that... Casper?!" Asked Fatso in shock.

Stretch remained silent. He was both shocked and outraged.

"Those little...!" Stretch couldn't stand anymore and decided that it was the time to confront the bullies.

"HEY! Ya rotten little punks!" Stretch shouted after them. The teens turned around and saw the uncles, having surprised faces. Casper also stopped crying.

"Who are you...?" Asked Astrid in disbelief.

"We're his uncles, that's who!" Replied Stretch.

The older ghost then grabbed Astrid and held her tight.

"What did ya do to him?" Demanded Stretch.

Astrid was caught off guard, and attempted to explain their actions but she was way too nervous to talk. Stretch couldn't wait any longer and angrily shaked her forcefully.

"Answer me, ya little brat!" Fatso and Stinkie intervened, pulling Stretch away from Astrid as they didn't want to do any violent things to a dame, or in the case, a teenage girl.

The teens were spechless as they were confronting three angry uncles. They had no idea they were Casper's uncles. They remained silent for a moment before Astrid spoke up first.

"We were just messing with him, okay? We didn't mean any harm!"

Stinkie and Fatso didn't looked convinced.

"Messing with him? We saw the whole thing!" Objected Fatso.

"And ya crossed the line! Big time!" Added Stinkie.

The teens knew they were in big trouble after all the heartless things they had done to Casper.

"How long have ya been doin' this?" Asked Stretch. He was the most concerned out of the Trio. The other two were also worried but Stretch was the eldest and the responsible member of the family so he had the right to get worried.

"For... a few days." Admitted Astrid nervously.

Stretch's anger intensified as he wanted to know the extent of their actions.

"And?"

"We've been bullying him, took his things and beat him up..." Confessed Shade.

Stretch's anger reached its limit. His eyes were slowly turning fiery red and his teeth grew sharp. He hovered up a bit and leaned in at the teens.

"YA DISGUSTING LITTLE BASTARDS! HOW DARE YOU TREAT HIM LIKE THAT?! HE'S DONE NOTHING TO DESERVE THIS!" Roared Stretch with pure rage.

The teens cuddled together in fear as Stretch was calming down a bit. His eyes and teeth went normal again.

"Tell me what else ya have done ta him befo' I'll do something I'll regret!" Threatened Stretch.

"We even scared him..." Confessed Torquil.

"Scared him? SCARED HIM?!" Stretch said in frustation.

"Ya miserable excuses for ghosts! Why would ya do that?! You... YA MAKE ME SICK, DAMN IT!" He roared once again.

The teens realized the mistakes they made. They knew they were going to face the consequences of their actions so they tried with an apology.

"We're sorry..." The teens said in unison.

Stretch's eye twitched and scoffed their apology, his laughter filled with scorn.

"Sorry? Sorry's not gonna cut it." Stretch said mockingly.

"We did it because he is a friendly ghost! We wanted to show him how is being scary!" Admitted Astrid.

"Is that so? We'll show you what's really scary!"

He signaled his brothers. The Trio then fused together to form into a giant terrifying being. The teens panicked. The monstrous entity let out an enormous roar. That caused the teens to scream and fly away in fear. The Trio were unfused. Casper was still shaken and softly sniffled. Stretch approached him and picked him up gently, helding him in his arms protectively and they left the alley behind.

At home, Casper was being treated and was still shaken.

"Why didn't ya told us about those punks, Casper?" Asked Stretch with a serious tone. He was literally disappointed at his nephew.

Casper was unsure of what to respond as he didn't knew his uncles would had second thoughts about him.

"I... I thought you wouldn't care..." Said Casper softly.

Stretch's expression softenend a bit.

"Well don't think that way cause we ain't retards." Said Stretch gruffly but a bit gently.

"But you mistreat me all the time... just because I'm friendly..." Casper said this tearfully. Stretch wiped the tears and confessed.

"Just because we're tough on ya doesn't mean we don't care about ya. We really do, Short-Sheet. Always have, always will." Casper sadly smiled a bit about that

After that, Casper was carried to his bed.

"Rest now, Casper. Ya'll feel better after some rest." Said Stretch softly.

Casper looked at him softly. Stretch felt awkward but offered a reassuring smile before leaving Casper to rest and quietly exit the room to join his brothers downstairs.

Later, around sunset, Casper woke up and was well again. He flew downstairs and meet up with Stinkie and Fatso, who looked relieved to see Casper fully healed.

"Casper, you're okay!" Said Fatso. He and Stinkie gently hugged their nephew, careful not to squeeze too tightly. He hugged them back.

After that, Casper noticed that Stretch wasn't with them and looked around.

"Where's Uncle Stretch by the way?" Asked Casper curiously.

"He's out on the terrace." Explained Stinkie, gesturing towards it.

Casper nodded and headed towards the terrace.

There, Stretch was sitting on the terrace, lost in his thoughts. He was smoking a cigar and also had a glass of wine. He was thinking about the events happened on that day. He wondered how his nephew actually felt during those days of bullying. He was outraged when he heard that he got bullied for being friendly. Stretch himself despiced his nephew's frendliness but he couldn't bore the thought of him being bullied. If his youngest brother, J.T., was still here, he wouldn't had forgive him for that. He couldn't protect Casper in time and would blame himself for it. Despite his rough nature, he still cared about his nephew, even if he didn't like it sometimes. Just then, Casper approached his uncle timidly.

"Hi, Uncle Stretch..." The little ghost greeted shyly. The older ghost didn't glanced at his nephew and was still silent.

Casper sensed his uncle.

"I see you need some time. I-I'll leave you alone then...". Before Casper could retreat, Stretch stopped him.

"No, Casper, com'ere." Casper hesitated for a moment before accepting, taking a seat beside his uncle.

The two were quiet to each other. After those events, everything had changed. Stretch was sipping some wine.

"Are you okay, Uncle Stretch?" The young ghost asked with worry. The older ghost assured him.

"I'll be alright, Casper. Just... processing things." Casper nodded.

"Ya know... Ya've been through more than most today. But... yer stronger, y'know?" Added Stretch.

He then suggested they should go to the shore to share a moment of peace. Casper accepted and they both went to the shore since their manor was located at the coastline. They were standing, watching the waves in silence. Casper then looked up at his uncle.

"Uncle Stretch?" The older ghost looked at his nephew.

"Am I... a burden to you?" Casper asked nervously. Stretch was surprised when he heard of this question.

"No, Casper. Ya ain't a burden. You are family. We need you and you need us. That's what family does." Explained Stretch.

The young ghost was silent before he hugged his uncle.

"Thank you... for everything." Said Casper softly. Stretch was taken aback but was touched by his nephew's attitude and hugged him back.

"Anytime, Short-Sheet."

As they were embracing, Stretch felt like Casper was more than he had thought. After of what happened, Stretch promised himself, he would protect him at any cost.

"If any ghost torments my nephew, I'll make sure their afterlife will be miserable just like they are."

Stretch even admitted that without Casper, he and his brothers' afterlives would be boring. If Casper had crossed over, they wouldn't be the same and they would actually miss their only nephew. Despite being total jerks, they were actually having fun even if they show it in a strange way. Even if they were having ups and downs, they were still family. And family matters.

And they would spend together as a family until the very end.
