Crowned with Flowers

It was the day after Amber's coronation, a grand affair in and of itself. Everything had been perfect, just the way Enchancia's new queen had wanted it.

Sofia sighed in contentment as she played with some wildflowers she had picked while her husband ran a brush through her hair. They were sitting outside on a blanket near the water, relaxing for what felt like the first time in months. As Amber's sister, Sofia had helped with much of the planning for the big day. Every detail from the color of Amber's dress to the flavor of the five–layer cake had been discussed thoroughly several times before a decision was made. Now that it was all over, Sofia was happy to spend some quiet time alone with her sorcerer.

"Your sister finally got her lifelong dream," Cedric said softly from behind her, moving the brush he had conjured smoothly through her auburn hair.

"Yeah…" She smiled as she twisted some of the flowers together. "She'll be an ah–mazing queen."

"I don't doubt that." He sighed, setting the brush aside. "I only wish her mother could have been here to see it. Lorelei would have been proud of how far Amber has come."

"I'm sure Queen Lorelei was here in spirit."

"Perhaps," he shrugged, running his fingers through her hair. "You know, Amber is a mirror image of her mother, she even sounds almost like her when she talks. I happened to hear her sing the other day, and she sounded so much like Lorelei."

Sofia just smiled softly. She had heard Roland tell Amber how much she reminded him of her mother many times over the years. She also knew that her husband had been close friends with Enchancia's late queen, and while he and Amber hadn't always seen eye to eye, she was happy that they had eventually come to respect each other and become friends. They sat in a comfortable silence for a few moments; Sofia starting to weave the flowers together and Cedric reminiscing about something from years gone by.

"I suppose we'll be a duke and duchess now," he said, running his fingers through her hair a final time before separating it into three sections and beginning to braid it.

"I guess so," she laughed lightly. "It will be something to get used to."

"Duke Cedric," he said, sounding it out. He grimaced. "It sounds like a spell someone said incorrectly. King Cedric has a much better ring to it." He grinned when she laughed harder. "But I think I would rather just be Cedric the Sensational. After all, that's the title the love of my life gave me."

"Oh, Cedric…" She smiled as her cheeks grew warm.

Cedric finished braiding her hair and conjured a lilac ribbon, tying it at the end of the braid. "There you are, love."

"Thanks…" she murmured as she finished weaving the flowers together.

"What are you even doing with those flowers?" he asked curiously, folding his arms.

She finally turned to face him, a crown of yellow and white flowers in her hands. Grinning, she lifted the crown up and placed it on his head. "I was just making you a crown."

Cedric blinked. "Why do I need a crown?"

"Because…" She wrapped her arms around his neck. "You're the king of my heart."

"Sofia…" He had to chuckle at the silliness of the whole thing. It was the day after the coronation of the kingdom's new queen, and here he sat, wearing a flower crown that his wife had made for him. He wrapped his arms around her, pulling her into his lap and kissing her passionately.

The rest of the day went on, seemingly unnoticed by Cedric and Sofia, who were lost in a world of their own.

A/N: And here's to the 6th Cedfia Week (and my 4th time participating)! For Coronation, I had this silly idea you see here. It's not much, but I hope you enjoyed it.
