Hey hey hey guys! After so much time I finally found passion to continue this... I haven't finished 'Anna's Family' yet but I don't think I'll be able to finish it anytime soon either so I guess I'll just have to manage this along the way too. oh well, so be it. I'll just do my best.
Sometimes you wonder what is on one's mind. Everyone have their little voices in their head. Voices of the emotions inside out. In case of a teenager girl like Riley , that's no different.
But in case of a teenager unexpectedly reborn in her younger body? Well that case is no different too...except that the emotions themselves don't know how to react to such supernatural expeditions.
As the light stops and Joy who was previously gone in thin air with all her comrades suddenly reappeared back into their Headquarters.
Joy looked around as she didn't understand why she still exist
"This... this can't be..."
And a voice came "J-Joy?"
The energetic emotion turned to see Sadness then Fear, Disgust and Anger.
She began to tear up
"Guys! YOU ARE ALIVE!"
She hugged them all tightly.
Fear: WE ARE?! WE ARE!! I CAN'T BELIEVE IT!
Disgust : HEY YA'LL IF THIS IS AFTERLIFE THEN I DONT FEEL ANY DIFFERENCE!
Anger : Oh ho no. I don't think we are dead... F*ck, I feel more alive than before!
Sadness : BUT HOW?! How is this possible? We just disappeared, we were gone. Riley passed away but we are still here so Riley... is she?...
The emotions turned to their console. They stopped shortly to inspect the model.
Anger: Wait a minute! This is an old model!
Disgust: Yeah this is an old style panel.
Sadness: I may have an idea why...
The four glanced at blue emotion awaiting to hear her thoughts on the situation
Sadness: I don't know how but I think we may have traveled through time. The buttons from before are present but the design is not the same.
The room filled with silence as the other emotions process the concept of time travel.
Fear: Ouh my gosh ouh my gosh ouh my gosh what do we do now?!
Anger: Marvel of course you stressful nerve! I can't believe I'm alive again!
Disgust: Well I can't believe I'm stuck yet again with you. Talk about better times.
Anger wasnt upset at her usual remarks instead he was reveling.
Anger: Ouh yeah? Guess what! We now have all the time in the world to talk it out broccoli lady
Disgust: Jokes on you brick head
Joy: Guys we can do that and more! That's just incredible... You know what this means?We can be together again! We cam be with Riley again!
Then the console screen activated again signalling that Riley is waking up.
Fear: NO NO NO! What can we do?! Riley may go mad!
Joy: Fear just relax and do what you do best. We now have work to do!
Fear: okay easy does it.
Fear touched the panel as they see how Riley wakes up a bit uncomfortable before she goes crazy about her surroundings.
Riley then went to bathroom to see her younger reflection before they all heard a familiar voice.
"Riley! Are you awake?"
The emotions stood silent as Joy cried once more.
Joy: Sadness. Come here with me. It's our turn!
Yellow and blue emotions did their way. As Riley then ran down to meet her parents.
She repeats herself again...
Joy: Mom and dad are alive. Riley is alive. WE ARE ALIVE!
She couldn't say that enough...
Anger: And holy smokes...we can have a new life again.
Fear: And new dangers...
Disgust: Waaaay to kill the mood
Sadness: Honestly we will have sad moments again
Joy: Guys that's the point! Cheer up everyone we now can go to school again, to make friends and maybe outdo some bad parts
However she then remembered something "Wait a minute..."
She realised something was wrong about the house and their room
Riley looked around the room she is, she didn't look around due to her... "recent ressurection"
"Wait what is this?" Riley said
Strange set of papers printed on the walls of her room. She recognised the mathwork but didn't understand the part on the...
"What science project? Wait I don't remember having such subject until college."
There were many schematics and mechanisms drawings. Like from sci-fi movies... but that can't exist now...
"Uhm you ARE in a technological institute Riley remember?" Jill said, raising her eyebrow in confusion at her daughter
Riley stood up and pretended to understand "wha- of course I am. Hehe I was just ahm thinking on something mom"
Jill then narrowed her eyes as Riley felt nervous, she doubts her mother will buy it.
Jill then gave her a smirk which didn't exactly ease the tension. She recognised that kind of face gives some wrong ideas.
Strangely Riley understood what smirk she had, a smirk she had when her daughters found a boyfriend...that could mean only one thing
"Rileeey~ You don't need excuses here. You don't need to hide it from me here. So dont act weird with me and just share what you have in mind. What do you have with that boy you invited?" Jill said teasing her
Riley and her emotions realised who she was talking about.
"Jordan? Is he here?!"
"Wow so you already call each other by names~"
"Moom!"
"So what's a dealio with Jordan? OMG he was so-"
"AWESOME SO" Riley repeated with her mother "Very funny mom. But don't you think those phrases got old"
"Did they? I'd believe that if you didn't just proved otherwise"
Riley sighs and smiles in defeat "Well you got me."
Riley looks in her phone to see that her friends numbers are all much to her relief...'Jordan, Meggie, Hana ...'
...except there were also some names she doesn't know.
'Tip, Wasabi , Fred, Honeylemon?' Joy said baffled
"And who the freckels are these guys?" Anger asks
"I remember half of these… but I don't know the rest" Sadness adds
It was strange, if they are really in the past of their life then it shouldn't be any different than how Riley remembers.
"Okay this is getting weird. And what kind of name is that Wasabi and Honeylemon? Fred and Tip are lame too but being named after a food?" Disgust says
Anger : A brocoli complaining on food HAH
Disgust glared at him
"Guys guys wait have any of you wonder why she brings up Mark right now?" Joy asked
"Wait is Jordan here? Ouh you left him with dad right? Well that is embarrassing" Riley said, sarcastically though her mother didn't notice
"Oh c'mon Riley your dad would never…" she was saying, an intense song came out from the floor below. "Or maybe I'm wrong"
She expected Riley to be upset but unbeknownst to her, when Riley ran down to see her father and husb...future husband playing rock music, she smiled and let out a small laugh.
Riley remembered this day very well.
It was embarassing in her previous life to see them bashing the kitchen but this time she just loved to see them together like this.
'It feels good to be back still' Riley thought to herself
Riley: Hah boys have fun. Don't they mom?
Jill: ... *smile* Yup I believe you are right.
The boys stopped after a minute or two when they noticed Riley watching.
Jordan and Riley then walked up the door with Jordan still playing an imaginary guitar with his hands.
"Bye mom... I'll come back soon"
Jill : Of course, peace out my homies.
Riley chuckled at that as she made her way, with emotions commenting.
Sadness : I still don't get those phrases.
Disgust : And I still don't like them.
Joy : Well it's funnier either way.
The emotions now are preparing to see what this newly found life has to offer.
This is a recreation of Riley's First Date episode. Funny I post this now as Inside Out 2 was announced in 2024. It'll be an interesting addition.
