So I think I've spent enough time dwelling on Ichabod's emotional state and having some catch-up after The Rescue of the Mizzerans. Time to get to the real meat of the story! And I realized having the cubs sneaking onto the Fellowship while the Captain pretty much lives there is the perfect way to give hints of what is to come
So the cubs went back to the Fellowship in Earthport's underground spaceship garage with Ichabod's keycard, that was another thing about Ichabod's funk, he was so distraught he didn't even think about his keycard!
Since they knew Captain Matoaka and her husband would be on the spaceship tonight they didn't stop at the kitchen for a snack, instead the Mutant Cubs slowly made their way to Bridget's bedroom, Zeb trying to step as delicately as possible so the sound of her hooves clicking against the floor didn't wake anybody up!
But then, their fur and feathers stood on end when they heard the sound of somebody else's hooves! Larger and older hooves! And they seemed to be running as fast as they could!
They saw the Unicorn Captain herself Matoaka turn the corner and as quickly as they could the Cubs ducked into Bill's bedroom hoping the Unicorn Space Captain and Queen didn't see them!
Turns out she didn't the Unicorn-Woman was hysterical! Braying "Trapped! Trapped! Everywhere is trapped!"
She then ran into the bathroom that was across from Bill's bedroom, all the bedrooms had a 'mini-bathroom' attachment with toilet and sink, showers were in the larger bathrooms The Cubs opened the door just a crack to peek and they saw Matoaka rapidly splashing water into her eyes!
Her husband the Bird Alien Zander rushed up to her "Mattie!" He exclaimed calling her by her rarely used pet name "What is going on? Why were you screaming?"
Giving her head a shake, Matoaka finally collected herself "I'm sorry…I just…Had a nightmare is all…"
"You've never reacted like that to a dream before!" Zander remarked "Care to tell me what it was about?"
And Matoaka looked like she might have a panic attack at the thought "I was dreaming…About everyone dying…" She said already one could sense she was hiding something "…Just flashbacks from previous battles…"
Zander knew she was hiding something but right now he didn't want to push it.
"OK let's just…Go back to bed…" He said
After the two of them were out of earshot, Zeb quietly said the Caesar "You still want to push you luck with playing that game?"
"Yeah…" Caesar said even though the Young Chimp was also shaken by what he had just seen "I can use Bridget's headphones to make sure they don't hear anything…"
Meanwhile in the country outside Gotham City something else strange was taking place.
A farmer taking a moment after slopping his pigs (Ordinary Non-Intelligent Pigs not Humanimals, the Carnivores have to eat something you know) and giving some of them some friendly scratches behind the ears, turned and was about to have his own supper when he suddenly stepped in something sticky…He looked down and saw glowing pink goo! He screamed hoping it wasn't radioactive…But as he was running back to his farmhouse he felt his ears begin to change…And a curly tail spring from his backside!
As the human farmer screamed as he turned into an Anthropomorphic Pig…Someone who was watching this from a distance cackled evilly "It works! It really works!"
So obviously referring to the 'pink mutagen' from the 80s TMNT cartoon that was featured in Turtles Forever, just imagining is someone collected some of that leftover Mutagen before the universe went back to normal
