This is a rewrite of the movie "The Giver." We start where Jonas is about to leave the community. Don't worry, there are some changes.
It was night in the community. People were asleep in their dwellings. After all, no one would dare break the rules. They lived in a world where no one knew pain,suffering,or jealousy. But also a world where no one knew freedom,choices, or independence. Except 2 people. And one of them was going to change their world forever.
Jonas left his house. His resolve strengthened the farther he went. Something had to change. He couldn't go on like this, The community couldn't go on like this. How can they just kill children? He got a little mad at his father because he was the one who sometimes had to put them down,but then realized that they didn't know any better. That's why he was doing what he was doing. And how he knew he was right. Jonas thought as he hopped on his bike and headed toward the gate. As he approached the gate, however, he saw something and cursed in his own head. "Jonas, what are you doing? You know it's against the rules to leave your dwelling after curfew." Asher, his best friend, demanded to know. Jonas couldn't deal with this right now. He needed to get to the giver and tell him his plan. "Asher, you have to let me go. I have to do something you don't understand, and the thing that im doing is right, but to do it, I have to break the rules a little an-" Asher grabbed the front of his bike. He looked up at his friend with contempt. "If it's right, how can it be against the rules?" He inquired harshly. Jonas wished it could be that simple. "Asher, let me go!" Jonas tried to force his way through, but Asher's grip was strong, and the bike fell to the ground. Jonas tumbled off the bike and, on top of Asher. He tried to get back up and on the bike to escape, but Asher dragged him back down to the ground. they both fell down,Jonas's bag fell off his shoulders as Asher continued to try and stop Jonas. then Jonas punched him in the face. He didn't even think his arm just moved. With Asher out, cold Jonas took one last look at his friend and sped off towards the giver's house on the edge of society.
"Giver, Giver, Wake Up!" Jonas shouted as he made his way down the spiraling stairway. "To do that, I would have to be sleeping," the old man stated. he was lying down but he wasn't sleeping. "I figured it out!" Jonas blurted quickly. "Elaborate," the Giver said curiously. "I figured out how to change everything. If they had the memories of the past,all of them would be able to change, dont you think?" Jonas said, gasping for breath. "It's possible,but you can only realease the memories with your own realase which you aren't permitted to ask for." the giver said, a twinge of disappointment in his voice. "That's what you think, giver. I have a better plan." jonas responded. Jonas told the giver of his plan to cross the boundary of memory and release all his memories to the community.
In the middle of his explanation, the center hologram lit up, and the chef elder appeared. Jonas quickly hid behind a bookshelf as the old giver went to speak. "I apologize for my intrusion," she said coldly. apology accepted. the giver said like he didn't care. "Have you seen the receiver of memory? He's gone...rogue,and we think he's told you his plan. I would hate for something bad to happen to him,or you." she said. They could both see it was a loaded question. after a beat, the giver responded. "No, I haven't seen him." he said matter of factly. well then,if you see him please tell me. she proceeded to cut the transmission. "he's lying," she said to herself.
"Is she gone?"Jonas whispered. "Yes, you can come out now." the giver said. :so do you think it will work?" "Yes, i think it will," the Giver said. "good, maybe with these," Jonas tapped his forehead, "we can help them." The two embraced into a hug, and the giver gave him memories of strength and bravery. "I love you, Jonas," the old man admitted."I love you too, Giver." Jonas was too focused to feel emotional, but he returned the Givers sentiments. Heres the map,Keep that safe.
