"Why does it always have to be me that takes these kids ANYWHERE?!" King thought to himself as he watched Second and his friends stumble around the roller rink. He didn't understand how the idea came up: Second and the others were hanging out with Gold and his friends, Gold had brought up roller-skating to Purple, who personally had never gone roller-skating(King knew who to blame for not giving his kid a good childhood), and suddenly he was babysitting all of them while Gold and Purple actually went roller-skating while the others flew around at lightning speed.

He personally found it funny, but kept his eyes on Purple, who clung tightly to Gold's hand while he and Sapphire carefully guided him across the rink. He smiled. Gold was such good-hearted when it came to other people, and he and Purple hadn't known each other less than a month. Maybe it's cause King and Purple were so close. He'd never know.

Maybe he could thank Navy for some things. After all, he was the reason he had found out Gold was actually still alive, he had brought him and Purple closer together, and in a way, showed Purple that King always had, and always will, love and care about him.

He had still almost killed Purple, but still. He had brought him and Purple closer than ever, and he was happy to see Purple so happy.

Until everything went wrong in the blink of an eye.

Other sticks entered the rink, blocking King's view of Purple until the newly-arrived stick figures were all crowded into a circle.

Now, King did not roller-skate. He couldn't keep his balance long enough to stay upright, even with someone guiding him and holding his hand.

He was half-expecting himself to run over, grab some roller-skates, and skate onto that rink and find Purple.

Until the stick in the center caught his attention.

Purple?

He couldn't hear anything over the sticks laughing over something, but he could tell it was hurting Purple: His palms were slammed over his ears, and if his watering eyes didn't say anything, something was getting thrown into his head, and it was really bad.

Green and the others showed back up and caught sight of King.

"Hey, King! You know where Purple went?" Green asked. King payed no attention to the young sticks and kept his eyes glued to the issue in front of him.

Your kids being bullied by a bunch of hoodlums.

Gold tried barrowing through the crow of howling kids, but was unsuccessful. Green, in almost an instant, threw his roller skates into King's hands and ran off to stop the music that was playing.

King knew what it meant, but he wasn't about to do it.

He did NOT roller skate.

But he had almost no choice.

As soon as he got the skates on and he sped towards the rink, one kid and his friend grabbed two cups(which King knew weren't supposed to be on the rink), and dumped it's contents all over Purple.

Another kid skated up to him and pushed him to the ground.

Well, shit.

"Sorry you can't cry to your mommy anymore!" They said, his voice sounded oddly familiar somehow. "You'll just have to cry to your daddy instead!"

The mention of Purple's so-called "dad" made his blood boil.

"Oh wait, can't do that either, you crybaby loser!"

Alright, THAT was it.

King flew across the rink, blood boiling over the edge and seething with rage. He noticed Green grab Blue's roller skates as he too sped across the rink, more focused on the kids bullying Purple.

"HEY! MOCHA!" Green screamed, his voice seething with rage. Mocha turned to Green and was met with the floor as Green slapped him so hard he lost his balance and fell flat on the ground.

The kids not with Mocha immediately started laughing.

Gold took his chance and helped Green get Purple off the rink, while King sped off the rink and raced towards Purple.

Man, was it really that bad?

Purple was still sobbing when Green and Gold got him off the rink, and the others were at his side in seconds, asking what happened.

King joined them straight afterwards.

"Purple! Purple, what happened?!" He asked frantically, becoming really unsure of what to do. Mocha was being guided off the rink, and Ming instantly remembered who he and his friends were.

He and Green shared a look, and Green jumped into action.

Shoving Purple into King's arms, he stormed over to Purple's tormentors, seething with rage.

Gold and the others backed up.

King realized Green held a roller skate in his hand, and his eyes widened.

Oh, shit.

Second took a step forward, but was far too late.

Green slammed the wheels into Mocha's face, and the entire rink was sent into an eerie silence.

"I wouldn't recommend messing with Purple again. Now you know what's gonna happen." Green snapped angrily.

King should've been mad, but he was actually pretty proud of Green for standing up for his friend.

"It's not our fault your friends a little baby!" One of the kids said as they tended to Mocha.

"Oh, so it's my fault someone abandoned their little brother and wasn't able to get them back cause they're deemed unfit to raise a kid cause they've got anger issues?!"

Purple was seething with anger, shaking in King's hold and his watered eyes glaring daggers at his tormentors.

Most of the bullies decided to back off, not before marching forward and pushing Green down.

Purple lost it.

Breaking from King's tight grip, he marched forwards and punched the kid square in the face.

"Don't. Touch. My friends. You'll regret it faster than a snap of your fingers."

Purple was seething with rage directed mainly towards Mocha, but was equally distributed towards all of them.

Mocha and his buddies quickly backed off and ran out of the roller rink.

"Holy..." Gold said in shock.

"King, your not supposed to stand there! Do something!" Blue snapped.

"Are you crazy?! That's called standing up for yourself, Blue!" King said in disbelief.

Purple was still standing where he was, slightly shaking.

"Purple? You alright?" Green asked in concern.

"When in the hell did I learn to do that?" Purple asked softly.

"When you finally decided you were done with your dad's bullshit and beat the crap out of him, duh!" King said.

"Your not mad?" Purple asked, slightly surprised.

"Kid, I'm proud of you. Really proud. You stood up for yourself and Green like you stood up to your shitty dad!" King said.

"Okay, his dad wasn't THAT bad!"

"Yellow, he almost KILLED me!"

"And your point?!"

Red facepalmed. "He almost committed child murder! More than once!"

"Can we please NOT bring that up?!" Purple cried.

"Fine!" Yellow groaned. Red punched him in the arm.

"Quit your complaining, Yellow! Can we just have fun for once?! I think we all need it! Right, King?"

King looked at him. "I'm not responsible for you guys except for Purple. I'm only here to make sure Purple has fun cause Navy decided to try and ruin our lives."

"He kinda did?"

"How?"

"There's a thing called PTSD, dad." Gold said.

"Gold, I do NOT have PTSD!" Purple said. "At least not yet."

"Is that good or bad?" Gold asked him.

"Very good!" Green answered.

"Alright, I'm taking Purple and we're going roller skating! You coming, Gold?" Sapphire asked, grabbing Purple's hand and jumping back onto the rink.

"I'm comin, I'm comin! Jesus, Sapphire, ever heard of patience?" Gold said sarcastically.

King smiled and watched his kid have fun. Purple was acting like nothing even happened. He was fine. He was happy.

And King was just fine with that.
