"HEY! COWARD, COME OUT AND FIGHT!" Navy yelled out to his son, who remained quiet behind a pile of rubble.
He looked down at his wrist that had the bracelet on it. He could use that, and since Navy was less in power, it'd be easier.
At least Navy can't kill him.
He spawned in a blade and jumped out from behind the concrete. "HEY ASSHOLE!" He swung the blade, getting Navy's shoulder before sliding to the side.
Navy spawned in his own blade, and Purple jumped up, flying up into the air and tossing more blades at him. His dad dodged every one of them.
"Shit," Purple muttered to himself. He grabbed a piece of concrete from one of the large piles and turned it into big chunks before throwing them at Navy. Navy threw a large slab at him, but he sliced it in half with his blade.
"So, you have grown." Navy said.
"Yeah, I have. No thanks to you." Purple muttered.
"I raised you, you little shit!" Navy shouted.
Purple flew down to the ground. "YOU ABANDONED ME!" He screamed. With each scream, he stepped closer. "You hit me! You hit mom! All you wanted was a "skilled combatant", when you never realized how far you had taken it! I had to rely on people from orphanages to be happy! They were true parents to me! King is a true parent to me. Your wife died, and you didn't bat an eye. I strived for your approval for years, even going as far as taking an Ender Dragon egg for you, and you turned me away!"
"It's not like "King Orange" treated you any better! He was never there for you! He left you! He hurt you even after I left you!" Navy snapped. Purple remembered what King had said in the void.
"But...what if one day...you grow sick of me? Or I disappoint you? Or we get separated and I never see you again? Or...or..."
"Face it, Purple. One day, he'll grow sick of you, or you'll disappoint him, or you'll never see him again, and there won't be a thing you can do about it." Navy cackled.
What King had sent was flooded back into his mind at that very moment.
"That'll never happen. I'll never grow sick of you, you'll never disappoint me, and we'll always find each other if we get separated. I'll always be here when you need me. Your an amazing kid, Purple. I hope me being around has helped you realize that, and you deserve so much more than Navy and what he's given you. He's already hurt you enough, and I just kept that ball rolling."
"I promise you. I'm not going anywhere. I'm staying right here with you. Gold can't replace you. Nobody can. I'll be here for you when you need me. I'm so sorry, Purple. I didn't realize I made you think something like that. I'll be right here. I'm not gonna leave you."
"Don't worry, Purple. I promise I'll always be here for you."
"I'll still care. I didn't come because you and Green are best friends. I came because I wanted to prove to Navy, and you, that no matter what, I'd always be there for you. Even if your stuck in...whatever state your in now, I'll always be here."
King's apology to him.
"I didn't know what to do. I always thought you'd think I never cared, but I did! I loved you, and still love you, like my own son. I was hoping you'd realize that, and it hurt when I thought you didn't. I'm so sorry, kid, I-I wish I did something sooner! I was just so overcome with rage and grief about what happened to Gold that...that I was blind enough to realize I had already found a new family."
"A family in what?"
"In you."
"I'm sorry, Purple..."
"For what?"
"I ignored finding family after I lost my son and fell into a blind rage. I completely overlooked what I found along the way."
"What...what do you mean?"
"...I found you. And I completely missed the family along the way."
"What family?"
"You, Purple. I found family in you. I'm so sorry for never realizing that."
"It's okay...I'm here now."
"I love you, Purple. I always have, and no matter what happens to you, I always will."
"At least King loves me, unlike you." Purple said.
"What?!"
"I said, AT LEAST KING LOVES ME! YOU NEVER LOVED ME! HELL, YOU NEVER ONCE SPOKE TO ME AFTER YOU AND MOM STARTED ARGUING! YOU NEVER COMFORTED ME WHEN I NEEDED IT! KING DOES THAT! YOU WERE NEVER THERE FOR ME! KING IS! HE'S THE BEST THING THAT'S EVER HAPPENED TO ME, WHILE ALL YOU WANT IS YOUR SON BACK SO YOU CAN JUST ABUSE AND HURT THEM EVEN MORE!"
"You'd never speak to your father like that, would you?" Navy reprimanded.
"Father?" Purple scoffed, spawning another blade. "I found a better family. For your information, your dead to me!" Purple swung the blade at his father, giving Navy a scar identical to Purple's own. Navy slammed into a pillar holding up part of the building.
"Purple!" King ran inside the room, his main task being get to Purple get to Purple get to Purple GET TO PURPLE.
Purple got to him first, running into his arms as he steadied his breathing.
"Hey, buddy. It's okay. I got you. I'm here now. He can't hurt you anymore." King hugged him close.
"You're the best thing that ever happened to me." Purple sniffled.
"You and me both, kid," King smiled, tightening his hold on Purple. "I love you."
"I love you, too."
"KING! DUCK!" Chosen screamed as a piece of concrete snapped off the remaining ceiling. Purple grabbed King's hand and flew up higher into the air, but was barely able to stay up there for long.
"Purple, just hang on! Can you get us out of here?" King asked.
Purple shot him a worried glance. He'd never gain enough strength to get them both out alive, and he ended up faced with two choices: they die together, or he lets at least one of them live.
He finally made up his mind.
"I'm sorry, King," He said, wiping the rest of his tears away. King looked at him in confusion. "I love you." He threw King back towards the others and collapsed to the ground.
"PURPLE!" King screamed in horror. Red ran towards the building, just barely making it inside before the entrance was blocked.
"RED! NO!" Second screamed as tears filled his eyes.
Purple was barely able to get up and see Red pull him closer to his own body before his vision went black.
The building caved in on itself, but all King saw was Purple falling to the fall below.
He had sacrificed his own life to save King, but why?
"No...no no no NO! PURPLE!" He ran up towards the rubble, only to be stopped by Yellow's staff. His own eyes were glistening with tears.
"We're...we're too late. It's over." Yellow said, setting down the staff before scooping up a sobbing Blue. Second begun crying hysterically as Green pulled him into a hug.
King fell to his knees, letting his head fall into his hands as he began screaming in anguish. Gold ran up to comfort him.
"Hey, hey dad. It's okay. It's gonna be fine. We'll be fine."
"I loved that kid, Gold. And I've lost him. I lost him!"
"I know. I'm sorry."
"Purple...he gave up his life for me." King sniffled, wiping some of his tears away, but didn't pull away from Gold's embrace.
"It's because he loved you, and you loved him. He wanted you to live so we could be together again. He wanted you to be happy."
"How can I be happy when one of the few people I loved dearly just got crushed because I ran in there for him!"
The firetrucks and ambulances sped over seconds later, and said they'd try and find Purple and Red's bodies, but since there was so much rubble, they couldn't make promises.
King wanted them to try anyway.
He just wanted Purple back.
"Oh, Purple. I love you so much. I'll never forget you."
