Ross Gellar's Roller coaster Ride Of Love :

Ross Gellar had not been so lucky with relationships as he had got married three times and they had all ended in divorce as well having a string of girlfriends in between.

His first marriage was to Carol Willick which was from 1989 to 1994. The reason why this relationship had ended was because Carol had become a lesbian and had fallen in love with her gym buddy Susan Bunch and they went on to marry and have civil partnership wedding.
Despite the breakup, the two remained friendly, and, through their interactions over the course of the show, it became clear that, at one time, they probably made a decent couple. . The issue with Carol, however, was that the pair probably never should have been a couple in the first place and were better off being friends from the get-go. She also was able to act as a negotiator between her wife and her ex-husband once all three of them were parenting Ben.
After divorcing Carol Ross met Julie during a business trip to China. What he didn't know was that, back at home, Rachel had just discovered he'd held a torch for her for years, and Rachel had started to return his feelings. If Rachel was not in the picture, Julie would have been a near-perfect choice. The pair were incredibly compatible; Julie was a palaeontologist, she was fun and sweet, and she even got along with Ross' friends. When it came down to it, the only knock against her for Ross was that she wasn't Rachel. Despite Ross appearing happy with Julie, he still hadn't moved on from his little sister's best friend.

Then there was Chloe who did not technically date Ross They had a one night together that drastically changed another relationship in Ross' life.
Next there was Bonnie who was the first girl Ross dated after he and Rachel broke up. Phoebe set the duo up, and, to Ross' surprise, he really liked Bonnie and she was a lot of fun. She was outgoing, uninhibited, and very unlike Rachel or any of the other women Ross had dated.
However, it was clear from the beginning that their relationship was not going to last. Ross still wasn't completely over Rachel, so, as soon as the opportunity presented itself, he broke up with Bonnie to get back together. He also was incredibly shallow when it came to Bonnie's appearance. He couldn't get passed Bonnie shaving her head after Rachel convinced her to do it.

After Bonnie there came Cheryl who had a lot going for her. Not only was she exceptionally attractive, but she was also a paleontologist which made her surprisingly compatible with Ross. They could actually talk about their work with one another, something Ross couldn't do with most of his girlfriends. There was just one huge problem; she was messy and not just typical messy. Her apartment was very messy with rubbish everywhere.
Ross attempted to get over it because everything else about Cheryl was pretty fantastic. Unfortunately, Cheryl's dirty lifestyle ended up being a deal-breaker, and, since Cheryl seemed unwilling to consider the idea of maybe cleaning up a bit, it was probably for the best. Ross was used to his sister's need for everything to be clean and in its place, so he wouldn't have been able to adjust to Cheryl's chaotic and messy living situation.

Four years after Ross had spilt from Carol as well as his two failed relationships between Bonnie and Cheryl he fell in love with an English woman by the name of Emily Waltham. Emily clearly loved and supported Ross. She even agreed to move to New York to be with him. But during their wedding ceremony Ross kept on calling Emily Rachel which made her very paranoid. Emily became controlling. She didn't want Ross to see Rachel again. Their relationship crumbled was due to Emily wanting to know Ross's whereabouts. The pair divorced a year later.

In that same year he divorced Emily he married Rachel in Las Vegas but they there both completely drunk but their marriage did not last after Rachel found out from Ross's lawyer they were still technically married which really angered Rachel. She stormed over to his workplace and yelled "Ross! I am still your wife, what the hell is wrong with you!" Ross responded in an English accent "Well hello Rachel!" as he did not know what to say. A few years later they began parents and had their daughter Emma. Ross and Rachel's relationship was like a roller coaster with its ups and down and were meant to be together and they had history between them.

After divorcing Emily Ross got with Chandler ex girlfriend Janice who had on and off again relationship with. She briefly became Ross's girlfriend. Ross was having a hard time after learning his ex-wife Emily was getting remarried, and he actually appreciated Janice's willingness to lend a sympathetic ear. Janice spilt up with Ross as she could stand Ross' whining.

After Janice came Jill Green (Rachel Green's little sister). Jill's motives when it came to dating Ross were completely self-serving. She did not actually like Ross, something he was completely unaware of when they meet up.
She pretended to be interested in him and share some of his interests because she wanted to get back at her big sister Rachel. Ross doesn't know the full extent of Jill's manipulation right away, it was really unfair to him to be caught in the middle of an argument between the Green sisters.

Elizabeth Stevens became Ross's eighth girlfriend. She was a sweet girl but this relationship was incredibly problematic as before becoming one Ross's long line of girlfriends she was one of Ross' students. They started dating after the semester ended. Elizabeth was a very sweet girl, but this was an incredibly problematic pairing in Friends. Before she became one of Ross' girlfriends, she was one of Ross' students when the pair met during the show's sixth season. They started dating after the semester ended. However, given the wide age gap and the way they met, this pairing never seemed quite right. In the end, this is what caused the downfall of the relationship.
Ross was an adult with a career and a young son. Meanwhile, Elizabeth was still a college student who didn't yet have the same concerns or interests as Ross and his friends. Had Elizabeth been a few years older or not in his class, things might have been different, but, when they met, Elizabeth wasn't yet mature enough for Ross. .

Mona became Ross's ninth girlfriend. Ross met Mona at Monica and Chandler's wedding and won her affection soon afterward. Unfortunately, their relationship also coincided with Ross learning that Rachel was pregnant with his child. Because of everything that was going on in his life, Ross was constantly forgetting about Mona or failing to tell her the truth about what was going on. He did not make his relationship with Mona a priority in his life, which was a recipe for disaster.
After Rachel moved into Ross' apartment and Ross lied to her about it, Mona finally dumped him.

Ross moved on from Mona and began dating Charlie who was right up Ross's street as she was a fellow palaeontology professor like Cheryl and his intellectual equal. She even got along with his friends. Yet, she didn't really seem to know what she wanted in her personal life.
Ross wanted to ask her out. But Charlie had started dating Joey she soon dumped Joey for Ross and eventually dumped Ross to get back together with her ex boyfriend Benjamin aka "Benji" Hobart. Charlie was searching for something in a partner that she just didn't seem to be finding in Ross.

After being on his love roller coaster ride he knew that Rachel was one and she was the mother of his daughter Emma but there was too much history between and did not want to mess things up and they had many discussions about their relationship and both of them had decided to remain friends and nothing more.. So as result of this he decided to rekindle his relationship with ex girlfriend and student Elizabeth Stevens as out of all his girlfriend there knew that there was a spark between despise the age gap between them. It was not until he proposed to Elizabeth and she happily accepted to be his wife. After proposing he told Rachel and the others that he had proposed to Elizabeth and they were engaged to be married. Chandler, Joey, Monica, Phoebe were pleased for Ross. Apart from Rachel.

"Are you sure about this Ross?" asked Rachel.

"Rach does have a point" said Monica.

The others nodded in agreement.

"This maybe divorce number four!" exclaimed Phoebe.

"Remember what you nicknamed yourself?" Chandler told him

Ross nodded.

"Yes it was Ross the Divorce Force!" he replied.

This made the others in hysterics except Rachel.

" Come on guys ! Ross has been on a roller coaster with his love life as friends we need to support him!" Rachel protested.

They stopped laughing for a moment and nodded after listening to Rachel.

"We are here for you man whatever happens!" said Chandler.

"Yeah Ross I will be there for you!" Joey told him.

"Count me in!" Monica added.

"Well I do not know let's give it six months to year!" said Phoebe who was very doubtful.

"Thanks you guys it means a lot!" responded Ross.

The friends had a group hug.

Ross was ready to forget his past marriages and the string of girlfriends that he had dated behind him and concentrate on starting a new chapter in his life by marrying Elizabeth who was a student he had taught as well as fell in love with. Chandler, Joey, Monica, Phoebe, and Rachel as well as his own parents were eager to support him no matter what happens. Unfortunately in the back of their minds they were not so sure if he should remarry as history could repeat itself as just like Ross had said he had given himself the nickname "The Divorce Force!" Ross and Elizabeth's wedding went ahead and was very successful and Ross did not say Rachel's name once as him and Elizabeth took their vows unlike he did when him and Emily were getting married. . He was now really looking forward to his blissful married life with Elizabeth and prayed that this marriage would this time not end in divorce like his three previous marriages. But only time would tell.
