Phoebe Buffay Turns Her Minor Job Into A Major One:
Phoebe Buffay worked as masseuse but before becoming a masseuse she worked as a stock broker at Merril Lynch during her time there she had two hearts. The first one happened as she had lost a lot of money for the company as well as being a heavy smoker and was admitted to hospital. Phoebe was eager to get back to work she quickly sneaked out of hospital wearing her work clothes which was covered up over a dressing gown and headed to her workplace. But unfortunately Phoebe did not know that she had been sacked and Ross was the only one who knew this. While being in her hospital room Ross whispered to Joey about the news of her being sacked.
Phoebe shouted.
"What are you two girls talking about over here"
When she arrived at her workplace her boss and colleagues were surprised to see her. When her boss told her that she no longer had an office she stood against a potted plant and made that her office. When her boss sat her down and explained that she was fired she began having the second heart attack.
" I'm having another heart attack!" she yelled.
She looked up at a male colleague.
"Call 911, dumb ass!" she said.
"Hey Phoebs!" said one of her female colleagues.
"I'm having another heart attack!" she told her.
"Oh okay, but by the way welcome back!" the female colleague replied.
Phoebe soon left the company not at her own accord and decided to change her career and became a masseuse. for Massage Heaven which was a corporate massage company she worked for. Whilst working there was an inappropriate incident had occurred between her and Paolo (who was Rachel's boyfriend at the time) he was Italian and could not speak a word of English. After the incident had happened she informed Chandler, Joey, Monica, and Ross about it. Phoebe was feeling akward about telling Rachel about the incident between her Paolo. In the end she did tell Rachel and as a result of this Rachel dumped him.
Now with Monica and Chandler who had moved to Westchester County, Pennsylvania, and there was a possibilty that Rachel and her daughter Emma would be moving to France as she had been offered a job as fashion executive at Bon Marche a ladies fashion company. Joey was busy with his new job as an acting agent, and Ross and his fiancee who was Elizabeth Stevens who was one of his students that he had fallen in love with.
She decided to look in the newspaper for any job vacant as her gigs at Central Perk were not making her enough money. So one afternoon she sat in Central Perk with a cup of coffee and looked at the job page as she scrolled through. There many job vacancies which included retail assistant, accountant, stock broker, , realtor (estate agent), receptionist, legal assistant, teaching assistant, librarian, charity shop assistant manager, healthcare support worker, cleaner, warehouse packer, waitress, and security guard. She then noticed a job vancancy that stated the following.
Full Time Masseuse:
We are looking for an experienced masseuse on our PO Cruises full time.
The contract will be for 6 months and if successful could become permament
$1,800 per hour
Phoebe could not believe her eyes as this job vacancy suited her down to a T as she already had more than five years experience in the spa industry. She went home and told her husband Mike Haningan about this job offer she had seen in the paper. Mike was very supportive and told her to apply for the job and she did. As just like her ex-boyfriend David The Scientist Guy had gone to Minsk in Belarus and had taken up a job position and if Phoebe got the job she would be able to travel the world whilst working on the cruiseship.
She met up with Joey, Rachel, and Ross and told them that she had applied for a job as a masseuse on a cruiseship. Rachel and Ross were very supportive apart from Joey as he was sad about loosing another friend as Monica and Chandler who had moved to Westchester County, Pennsylvania and now Phoebe was leaving.
Phoebe protested that she had not heard back from the cruiseliner and told Joey she does not want to miss out on this opportunity as it would change her life. Joey soon changed his mind and like Rachel and Ross supported her. A fortnight after she applied for the job Phoebe recieved the news that her application had been accepted. She was over the moon and immediately told Mike as well as Joey, Rachel, and Ross who were very overjoyed for her.
Phoebe was given a Bon Voyage send off from Mike and her friends before she headed to the airport where she would fly to the port of where the PO cruiseliner was sailing from. She was so excited and could not wait to begin this new adventure of her life.
