Joey Tribbiani's Big Break:
Joey Tribbiani was an actor and had worked on a soap called Days Of Our Lives and had played the main character Doctor Drake Remore. After being unhappy of being axed from the show. Also a super fan of Days Of Our Lives, it was not his friend Rachel Green but another woman by the name of Erika Ford who actually believed that Joey was really Doctor Drake Remore which really did freak him and he soon broke off contact with her and was glad to hopefully never see her again!
His friend Ross Gellar wanted to help Joey to progress in his acting career and had told him to write a script and to do at least four pages. Joey headed to New York library to carry out Ross's assignment. He sat down at a desk and took his writing pad and pen out of his bag. Joey had got writers block and could not think of anything to write about. Then a thought struck him what about Days Of Our Lives where Doctor Drake Remore comes back from the dead? He started writing the script and within an hour he had written more than four pages that Ross had asked for. He left New York library and headed home where Ross was waiting for him.
"Hey Ross I have done it!" said Joey as he gave Ross his writing pad.
Ross took the pad and began to read his script.
"Oh my Joe this is great! Why don't you show it to the others" exclaimed Ross.
Joey nodded in agreement.
So with that Joey went back to New York library and photocopied his script. The next day he met Chandler, Monica, Phoebe, and Rachel at Central Perk Cafe.
"Hey guys!" said Joey.
The others smiled.
"Hey Joe!" they responded
"Can you guys read my script it was an assignment that Ross gave me to do I would really like your opinions on it!" Joey asked them.
They agreed with a nod of the head.
Rachel who was a fan of Days Of Our Lives was so excited and headed back to her apartment to read Joey's script.
Joey arrived back an hour after.
Rachel came running out her bedroom.
"Joey, your script is absolutely fantastic!" Rachel said beaming with delight.
"Really?" Joey asked.
"Of course!" Rachel replied.
"Your just being biased just because you're a fan of the show!" Joey said to her.
" I am not!" protested Rachel.
" I wonder what the others think of the script?" Joey thought to himself.
He would soon discover their views soon enough.
The next day he headed into Central Perk Cafe where ,Chandler, Monica, Phoebe, and Ross were all having a coffee.
"Hey you guys what did you think of my script?" he queried.
"It is really imaginative!" Monica answered.
Ross nodded.
" I like the title it shows you have really thought about it Doctor Drake Remore Back From The Dead. As we know how upset you were being axed from the show" Ross told him.
Chandler and Phoebe said what part of the script that they liked.
All of sudden Rachel arrived.
"Joey, Joey you won't believe what I have just done!" she said.
"What?" questioned Joey.
" I have sent your script to Days Of Our Lives!" she screamed.
Joey looked flabbergasted.
"You did what?" he asked again not believing what Rachel had just told him.
" I have sent your script to Days Of Our Lives!" Rachel repeated.
"You should not have done that Rach!" Joey told her.
"Why not? You were axed from the show and many fans like myself loved you on that show and Days Of Our Lives will never be the same without you! I did it for you Joey as the show don't know what they are missing out on!" Rachel explained.
Joey looked at Rachel.
"Thanks Rach that means a lot to me!" said Joey thankfully and embraced Rachel into a hug.
A few days later Joey got a phone call from the creators of Days of Our Lives about his script that Rachel had sent to them. They were very impressed and really loved the concept. They wanted to meet Joey about turning his script into a horror movie. Joey happily agreed. So he went and met the creators of the show that he had starred in. Joey asked them if he could star and direct the movie as he did write the script. The creators were reluctant and had many days of long discussions and eventually they gave him the green light to start filming.
Joey was so excited that he went to Central Perk Coffee House to inform friends Chandler, Monica, Phoebe, Rachel, and Ross about the news of his horror movie. They were all so chuffed for him and couldn't wait to see it especially Rachel.
"See Joey I told you that they would love it!" Rachel told him.
Joey with a smile as well as a "thank you"
Joey's film took eighteen months to complete. After the creators of Days of Our Lives watched Joey's film they were they were feeling very guilty of killing Doctor Drake Remore off the show and were glad that Joey had brought his character back to life and they were also thinking about bringing back Days Of Our Lives thanks to Joey's horror film.
This film Joey had made was such a success for Joey's fans and the creators of Days of Our Lives insisted Joey to create a sequel. Joey was so happy now as now for once he had been successful in his acting career as his film was now the big break that he needed.
