Roxy's Reports 7: Numera and SengokuQueen
At Café Matsuo, two hours before Chapter 12...
Yuhiro couldn't sleep. His mind was on what happened at the Den City Hospital, more importantly, Miyu. After he told Miyu about the recent events that occurred, he got up to leave, only for her to squeeze his hand. While Yuhiro didn't know anything about comas, it sure was a sign they were getting through to her.
He got up from his bed, knowing that nothing he could do would make him fall asleep. Yuhiro then headed over to his desk and opened up his laptop, ready to type the profiles for the two duelists he encountered earlier today.
"You're up, Yuhiro?" Herald asked, emerging from Yuhiro's Duel Disk as he rubbed his eyes.
"I can't sleep, Herald." Yuhiro answered. "Not with what's on my mind."
"You're talking about Miyu, aren't you?" Herald theorized, causing Yuhiro to blush a light red.
"I don't want to talk about that right now." Yuhiro sheepishly replied. He then directed his attention back to his laptop. "Considering how I can't go to sleep, I can input the profiles for Numera and SengokuQueen instead."
Herald thought this over. "Not a bad idea. They were interesting opponents, after all. Who do you want to cover first?"
"Numera." Yuhiro immediately answered. "While we don't know her real-life identity, we do know a couple of things. For instance, in the black market, she's known as the Cyberse User."
"Which makes sense because she somehow has a Cyberse deck." Herald added. "Numera's Mathmech deck focuses on setting up an OTK using her ace monster, Geomathmech Final Sigma. As Numera's strongest monster, it's not only unaffected by card effects except other 'Mathmech' cards..."
"But it can deal double battle damage to the opponent whenever it's in the Extra Monster Zone." Yuhiro finished, as he typed up the information down. "Numera has no record of using Link Monsters in her deck. Just Synchro monsters for now."
"Speaking of said ace monster." Herald interrupted. "Numera calls it her 'protector'. And was pretty upset when I called it a monstrosity. Do you think that means anything?"
"Not sure, Herald." Yuhiro replied, typing what Herald said down. "But it is something to look out for, as Numera's Geomathmech Final Sigma could be another sentient creature. Just like Progleo."
"I see." Herald thought about something for a moment before continuing to speak. "You know, I may have a theory on Numera's real-life identity."
Yuhiro turned his head to face Herald and raised an eyebrow. "You do?"
"Well, as our opponent looked like a little girl, I ran through a list of any little girls you already knew." Herald said. His eyes then glowed, as he accessed the Den Academy database until he found what he was looking for. "And I think it's this girl right here: Rachel Miyake."
"Herald, it's a good guess, but until I get more proof," Yuhiro responded, "we can't just go through with an assumption. But I will put it down." Yuhiro typed Herald's theory into the profile. "Back to the duel from earlier, Numera used a Skill called Mathmech Decompiling, which lets her target and destroy a Link Monster on the field before Special Summoning other 'Mathmech' monsters from her hand, deck, or Graveyard up to the destroyed Link Monster's Link Rating."
"But she can only use that Skill if she controls a 'Mathmech' monster." Herald quickly added, as Yuhiro typed the information down. "By the way, what Duel Grade would you give her?"
Yuhiro thought about it for a minute before responding. "Perhaps a B for Badass. Although she utilizes a straightforward strategy, she can catch the opponent off guard with some old cards, such as Pot of Greed and Shadow Spell. If Numera puts Link Monsters and other summoning methods, she could be worthy of an S for Savage."
Herald nodded his head as Yuhiro put that information down. Once he was finished, the profile for Numera looked like this:
Name: Unknown (Herald thinks that Rachel Miyake is Numera. I'll need more evidence before I pursue it.)
VRAINS ID: Numera
Other Aliases: The Cyberse User (that's what the people in the black market call her.)
Gender: Female
Age: 11 (she's young, and it makes the most sense.)
Residence: Apartment in Den City (best guess)
Job: Duelist (based on how she acts, there has to be more to it though.)
Deck: Mathmech
Ace Monster(s): Geomathmech Final Sigma (Not only can it deal double battle damage, it is also unaffected by other card effects, except other 'Mathmech' cards while in the Extra Monster Zone. A true powerhouse to contend with.)
Skill: Mathmech Decompiling (lets her target and destroy a Link Monster on the field before Special Summoning other 'Mathmech' monsters from her hand, deck, or Graveyard up to the destroyed Link Monster's Link Rating.)
LINK VRAINS' History: Watchman said that earlier today, she recently appeared in LINK VRAINS and caused havoc in the black market (there has to be earlier history than this.)
Duel Grade right now: B (Badass) (Numera's skills as a duelist are pretty good. While her strategy is straightforward, she does mix in some old cards, such as Pot of Greed to assist her. If Numera incorporates Link Monsters, as well as another summoning method, she might be worthy of an S for Savage.)
Notes: Numera's Mathmech deck focuses on setting up an OTK using her ace monster, Geomathmech Final Sigma. As Numera's strongest monster, it's not only unaffected by card effects except other 'Mathmech' cards, it can also deal double battle damage to the opponent whenever it's in the Extra Monster Zone.
The burning question in my mind is: HOW IN THE WORLD DID SHE GET THOSE CYBERSE CARDS? She did promise me an explanation after losing our duel, though. Hopefully she'll give me answers the next time we meet.
"Okay, on to the next one." Yuhiro muttered, as he set up the next profile. "SengokuQueen. Other than Numera, who's partially a mystery, we practically have a lot of information on the bounty hunter we faced today."
"Which we can thank SOL Technologies for." Herald said, crossing his arms. "We can practically make her profile in minutes. Or moments, if you hook up your Duel Disk to your laptop."
"Okay." Yuhiro grabbed his Duel Disk and hooked it up to his laptop. "But we should at least discuss what happened during the duel, so that we'll know what to do the next time we encounter her."
Herald nodded. "From what I recall during the duel, SengokuQueen uses a 'Six Samurai' deck with different 'Shien' monsters. The deck focuses on utilizing 'Bushido' counters to provide benefits for her, such as drawing cards and increasing the attack points of her monsters. SengokuQueen also can utilize different summoning methods in addition to Link Summoning, in this case, Synchro and Xyz."
"Her ace monster is Legendary Six Samurai – Shi En," Raguel also recalled. "It's a pain in the butt to deal with, as once per turn, Shi En can negate and destroy a Spell or Trap card whenever the opponent activates it."
"She mentioned something called a 'Bushido' combo." Herald said, putting a hand to his chin. "I wonder what that means."
"It's what she calls the deck's strategy." Yuhiro quickly answered. "Or at least the main approach when she duels. SengokuQueen may have other 'Bushido' combos to use as well." He looked at the laptop screen and saw that Herald was already done constructing her profile. "That was fast."
"Obviously." Herald said. "As an Ignis, I was able to access and type the profile up without touching the keyboard. As for SengokuQueen's Duel Grade, I already put it down based on the information we have on her." The two of them then looked over the completed profile:
Name: Gekiryushi Sanada
VRAINS ID: SengokuQueen
Other Aliases: The Crimson Samurai (that's what I call her.)
Gender: Female
Age: 20 (this makes her the oldest person to ever attend Den Academy.)
Residence: Kyoto, currently is staying at the Den City Regis Hotel (as the higher-ups in SOL Technologies hired her, it only makes sense to ensure she is treated royally.)
Job: Bounty Hunter at SOL Technologies (and she has a good record to prove it.)
Deck: Six Samurai, with Shien monsters
Ace Monster(s): Legendary Six Samurai – Shi En (with reasonable attack points and a deadly ability, it's a pain in the butt for sure.)
Skill: Unknown (will have to keep an eye out for it, though.)
LINK VRAINS' History: Following the fiasco in SOL Technologies' mother computer, the higher-ups hired SengokuQueen from Kyoto to defeat Playmaker and Raguel for their Ignis's. This was done to supposedly assist Kitamura in his task. She now lives in Den City until her task is complete.
Duel Grade right now: B (Badass) (While her deck is strong, as evidenced in our duel, it can be defeated. Although I have a feeling SengokuQueen hasn't unleashed her true 'Bushido' combo, or whatever she calls it. If she's willing to make improvements, SengokuQueen might be worthy of an A for Apocalyptic.)
Notes: SengokuQueen's Six Samurai deck focuses on utilizing 'Bushido' counters to provide benefits for her, such as drawing cards and increasing the attack points of her monsters. SengokuQueen also can utilize different summoning methods in addition to Link Summoning, in this case, Synchro and Xyz.
The Shien monsters can assist her during battle by negating Spell and Traps, bumping up other monster's attack points, etc. Though I have a feeling we only scratched the surface when it comes to her abilities as a duelist.
She clearly believes that criminals deserve to be punished to the extreme. I wonder what set her on that path in the first place.
According to SOL Technologies, SengokuQueen has a strong hatred of anyone with dishonor. This makes her a loose cannon. Tread carefully.
"That pretty much sums her up." Yuhiro said, looking over the completed profile. He stood up from his chair. "Want to go into LINK VRAINS for a bit? Just to keep an eye on everyone?"
"Might as well." Herald said, as Yuhiro saved the profiles and turned off his laptop. He then grabbed his Duel Disk and headed downstairs to the backroom.
Once he got to the closed-off space, he put his deck into his Duel Disk and said, "Deck Set! Into the VRAINS!"
