Roxy's Reports 10: SengokuQueen and Dancho (Updated)

At Café Matsuo, in the evening, after the events of Chapter 18, but before Chapter 19...

"Cheeseburgers for everyone!" Roxy said, as she carried a tray of cheeseburgers for herself and Yuhiro, as well as ten mini cheeseburgers for Progleo, who was sitting near the table. After giving Progleo his meal, she served Yuhiro his meal before sitting down with her cheeseburger.

"Gotta say, Roxy. These cheeseburgers are delicious!" Yuhiro commented, as he took a big bite out of his own burger.

"I'd recommend you slow down, buster, or else you'll choke." Roxy pointed out, causing Yuhiro to slow down a bit. "Besides, with this meal, we'll be able to update both SengokuQueen's and Dancho's profiles."

"Yeah." Yuhiro stopped eating as he put his burger down on the plate in front of him. His face became downcast as he remembered the words exchanged between SengokuQueen and Dancho, how what happened to the both of them led them on separate paths. As a result of Dancho joining the Hanoi, SengokuQueen lost someone she could trust, Yuhiro thought. If something like that happened to him, and he had no one to help him, would he follow the same path as SengokuQueen?

"Hey. Yuhiro." Roxy snapped her fingers at his face, waking him up from his trance. "You're down from the dumps. What's wrong?"

"Sorry." Yuhiro said. "I was just thinking of what would have happened to me if you and Quinton weren't there for me. I probably would have been hateful, way to quick to judge others-."

"DO NOT TALK LIKE THAT!" Roxy warned him. "What makes you different from SengokuQueen and Dancho is that you have a kind heart that loves and appreciates others. Of all the people I've met in my life, never have I met someone with as big a heart as you man. So don't worry about what could be, and give yourself a break."

Yuhiro chuckled. As always, Roxy's pep talks did the trick. "Heh. Thanks, Roxy. Guess that's what I needed to hear." He took a bite out of his cheeseburger.

"With that out of the way, let's get started on updating SengokuQueen and Dancho's profiles." Roxy said, opening up a blank document on her computer. She then opened up the file footage from SengokuQueen and Dancho's duel, as well as the duel between Dancho and Yuhiro. "Okay, since you witnessed SengokuQueen and Dancho's duel, as well as dueled Dancho a second time, could you tell me more about them?"

Yuhiro thought about it for a minute before saying, "From what I remember, SengokuQueen didn't upgrade her deck from the last time we dueled. However, I did see a few new things that were already in her deck, but haven't seen until now."

"Like what?"

"Well, she did Special Summon Great Shogun Shien, as she had two or more 'Six Samurai' monsters on her field." Yuhiro answered. "It reduces the number of Spell and Trap cards the opponent can activate per turn to one. Combined with Legendary Six Samurai – Shi En, she can prevent them from activating Spells and Trap cards per turn." If she summoned that monster, Yuhiro thought, I would have lost. "Other than that, nothing on her deck. However, I was able to learn some information about SengokuQueen."

"Information?" Roxy repeated. "You got information about her?"

"Yup." Yuhiro confirmed. "I paid attention to the conversations between SengokuQueen and Dancho, and learned that she once was a student at the Shinpi-Tekina dojo. Dancho, or Zandaka Ikiagi in the real world, was once her sensei."

Roxy's jaw dropped in hearing that. "Wow. Can't believe how close those two were. No wonder Dancho's betrayal made her upset." She typed this information down onto her computer. "And Dancho is now the second Hanoi member whose real-life identity we know."

She then remembered something. "Oh, I found out about SengokuQueen's Skill!"

Yuhiro's eyes widened as Roxy opened up duel footage between her and a Knight of Hanoi. The footage showed SengokuQueen using her Skill, Bushido Booster, to remove all Bushido counters on the field and increase the attack points of one Six Samurai or Shien monster by 200 times the number of Bushido counters removed. By using Bushido Booster, SengokuQueen dealt massive damage to the Knight of Hanoi.

"We need to watch out for this Skill if you ever duel her again, Yuhiro." Roxy said. "If she has enough Bushido counters, she'll finish you off in no time."

"Got it." Yuhiro affirmed, as Roxy finished updating SengokuQueen's profile. This was what it looked like upon completion:

Name: Gekiryushi Sanada

VRAINS ID: SengokuQueen

Other Aliases: The Crimson Samurai (that's what I call her.)

Gender: Female

Age: 20 (this makes her the oldest person to ever attend Den Academy.)

Residence: Kyoto (formerly), currently is staying at the Den City Regis Hotel (as the higher-ups in SOL Technologies hired her, it only makes sense to ensure she is treated royally.)

Job: Bounty Hunter at SOL Technologies (and she has a good record to prove it.)

Deck: Six Samurai, with Shien monsters

Ace Monster(s): Legendary Six Samurai – Shi En (with reasonable attack points and a deadly ability, it's a pain in the butt for sure.), Great Shogun Shien (can be Special Summoned if SengokuQueen controls two or more Six Samurai monsters on her field. It reduces the number of Spell and Trap cards the opponent can activate per turn to one. Combined with Legendary Six Samurai – Shi En, she can prevent them from activating Spells and Trap cards per turn.)

Skill: Bushido Booster (remove all Bushido counters on the field and increase the attack points of one Six Samurai or Shien monster by 200 times the number of Bushido counters removed.)

LINK VRAINS' History: Following the fiasco in SOL Technologies' mother computer, the higher-ups hired SengokuQueen from Kyoto to defeat Playmaker and Raguel for their Ignis's. This was done to supposedly assist Kitamura in his task. She now lives in Den City until her task is complete.

Update: We learned that SengokuQueen became a bounty hunter because of what happened to her in the past. She lost everything at the Shinpi-Tekina incident when a student she was friends with completely destroyed the village. As for why he did it, I'll have to investigate.

Duel Grade right now: B (Badass) (While her deck is strong, as evidenced in her recent duel against Dancho, she hasn't evolved as a duelist at all. She must be willing to make improvements in order to be considered for a bump up in her Duel Grade.)

Notes: SengokuQueen's Six Samurai deck focuses on utilizing 'Bushido' counters to provide benefits for her, such as drawing cards and increasing the attack points of her monsters. SengokuQueen also can utilize different summoning methods in addition to Link Summoning, in this case, Synchro and Xyz.

The Shien monsters can assist her during battle by negating Spell and Traps, bumping up other monster's attack points, etc. Though I have a feeling we only scratched the surface when it comes to her abilities as a duelist.

She clearly believes that criminals deserve to be punished to the extreme. I wonder what set her on that path in the first place.

Update: Dancho abandoning her and joining the Hanoi, as well as losing everything she held dear, were the reasons why SengokuQueen believes all criminals deserve to be punished. If she only had someone to help her on the right path...

According to SOL Technologies, SengokuQueen has a strong hatred of anyone with dishonor. This makes her a loose cannon. Tread carefully.

"That was quick." Yuhiro said. "Now onto Dancho. And boy was that duel a pain in the ass as always."

"You can say that again." Roxy agreed with him, pressing the enter button a few times so she can create space for Dancho's updated profile. "Can you tell me about his upgraded strategies, as well as anything else you can tell me?"

"Dancho has three new cards in his deck that can really be a pain in the ass." Yuhiro stressed, running a hand through his brushed down white hair. "One: His new ace monster Berserker of the Tenyi. That monster represents a student that destroyed everything Dancho and SengokuQueen held dearly, yet he uses him to ensure he won't lose them again. Two: Fists of the Unrivaled Tenyi. It can either negate the activation of a card effect, or if it's destroyed by a card effect, can Special Summon a non-effect monster from the Extra Deck."

"A card that can bring out a Link Monster from the Extra Deck during the opponent's turn..." Roxy muttered, typing the information down. "What else?"

"Three," Yuhiro continued, "Ghost Ogre and Snow Rabbit. One of the rarest Hand Traps, and yet Dancho got his hands on one of them. When a monster effect, or Spell/Trap effect is activated, Dancho can send it from his hand or field to the Graveyard to negate and destroy it. That's how SengokuQueen lost."

"Well, I do hope SengokuQueen learns her lesson from her duel." Roxy commented, typing the information down. "And as for Dancho, he has definitely fallen as an honorable sensei, wouldn't you agree?"

"You may be partially right." Yuhiro answered, getting Roxy's attention.

"Partially?"

"I mean, yes, Dancho fell from his righteous path." Yuhiro continued. "But I do believe there is grace for his failings. Right before he turned into an 'Another'..." He then stopped talking, not sure what to say next.

"Yuhiro?" Yuhiro then looked up at Roxy. "Keep talking. I won't judge."

Yuhiro nodded. "Right before he turned into an 'Another', Dancho asked me to save Revolver. Apparently, Dancho was the one who taught Revolver how to play Duel Monsters, and his connection with him and his family must have been the main motivator for him to join the Hanoi."

"I see." Roxy thought it over as she typed the information down. "Not everything's black and white you know, Yuhiro. By being exposed to these, um, dilemmas you're experiencing, you'll be able to make choices that will define you as a person."

"A person?" Yuhiro repeated.

"Well, yeah." Roxy confirmed. "Ultimately, only you can decide what kind of person you want to become for your future."

"Okay." Yuhiro nodded. "Once again, your wisdom helps, Roxy."

"Glad to help, buster." Roxy commented, finishing up what she was typing. "Do you want to bump up Dancho's Duel Grade or not?"

"We probably should." Yuhiro answered. "The fact he was able to improve his deck to great lengths and nearly defeat me really shows he's worthy of that S for Savage."

"Noted." Roxy updated Dancho's Duel Grade, and once she did that, Dancho's newly updated profile looked like this:

Name: Zandaka Ikiagi (another Hanoi member whose real name we know.)

VRAINS ID: Dancho (In Japanese, it means 'Grandmaster'.)

Other Aliases: Sensei who lost his way, Grandmaster of the Hanoi

Gender: Male

Age: Mid-50s (rough estimate)

Residence: Unknown

Job: Sensei at the Shinpi-Tekina dojo in Kyoto (formerly), Training Hanoi grunts (Currently) (that's what it looks like on the surface, but since he was called in to deal with Yuhiro personally, perhaps he has a bigger responsibility than we both anticipated.)

Deck: Tenyi

Ace Monster(s): Draco Masters of the Tenyi (formerly), Berserker of the Tenyi (currently. Even with no effects, combined with the Tenyi monsters in his Graveyard and his Skill, it's a tough powerhouse to contend with.) (He seems to really care for his Link Monsters. For instance, when Yuhiro used Grapple-Snatch on Monk of the Tenyi, he was upset. Need to watch out for that.)

Update: Dancho has Link Monsters resembling his former students, mainly his son, SengokuQueen, and the student that destroyed everything Dancho and SengokuQueen held dear. He's doing this so that he'll never lose them again

Skill: Ultimate Technique (Once per duel, Dancho can target one monster he controls, and by doing so, that monster can attack all monsters on the opponent's side of the field. Deadly if you're not prepared.)

LINK VRAINS' History: Was responsible for training the Hanoi grunts, as well as turning SengokuQueen, his former pupil, into an 'Another' (luckily, Yuhiro stopped him in their second duel.)

Duel Grade right now: S (Savage) (Even though Dancho looks like an old man, my god, does he move like a young one. His Tenyi monsters have different effects in the Graveyard that can really piss an opponent off if they're not prepared. Also, he can release chi-strikes from his fists. What the hell?!)

Update: (Berserker of the Tenyi, a Link 3 monster with no effects and 3000 attack points makes it deadly if combed with other cards. His Counter-Trap card, Fists of the Unrivaled Tenyi can negate the activation of a card effect, or if it's destroyed by a card effect, can Special Summon a non-effect monster from the Extra Deck. Finally, his Hand Trap, Ghost Ogre and Snow Rabbit, can stop card effects and destroy them. With these new editions, it'd be a mistake to underestimate him.)

Notes: Dancho's Tenyi deck is about the interactions in the Graveyard between the Tenyi monsters and the Tenyi Link Monsters. This is done by Special Summoning the Tenyi monsters to the field, but only if Dancho controls no effect monsters. The Tenyi monsters each have unique abilities, from decreasing attack points to resurrection, etc. Worst part is, they can be activated during either player's turn.

Weird thing is, even though he's a member of the Hanoi, he cares about his Link Monsters. It's... odd. I'll have to investigate further.

Update: The reason why he cares for his Link Monsters is because they all resemble people in his past that he cares about, and he doesn't want to lose them again either. Yuhiro went to great lengths to win the duel without harming them in order to appeal to the goodness within Dancho's heart. Perhaps Yuhiro may be right. There might be a chance of redemption for him.

According to Yuhiro, Dancho was the one who taught Revolver how to play Duel Monsters, and his connection with him and his family must have been the main motivator for him to join the Hanoi. Maybe to keep an eye on Revolver and guide him if necessary?

"Done and done." Roxy said, saving her work and closing her laptop. She then took a bite of her cheeseburger. "Say, where's Herald?"

Yuhiro was about to answer when the two of them heard a loud BURP. The two of them turned around and soon learned that Progleo was the one who did it.

"Manners, Progleo." Yuhiro told the cub, ruffling his fur.

"Excuse me." Progleo said.

"I'M BACK!" Herald suddenly said, startling Yuhiro and Roxy. "What did I miss?"

"Other than giving us a heart attack, not much." Roxy told him. "Where were you, by the way?"

"I volunteered to send the message while you two were celebrating the end of the 'Another' threat." Herald answered. "Hopefully, Watchman responds soon."

"Yeah." Yuhiro agreed. "It'd be good to get some more answers, right Roxy?"

"Right." Roxy confirmed, placing the finishing touches on Dancho's profile before shutting down her laptop. "With those profiles done, I'm calling it a night. Have a good sleep, Yuhiro." She then went upstairs to her room.

"You too as well, Roxy." Yuhiro called back.

"Uh, Yuhiro?"

Yuhiro turned around as Progleo spoke.

"I gotta pee."

Yuhiro rolled his eyes. "Okay, you crazy cub. Let's go." He grabbed his Duel Disk and walked with Progleo downstairs. With the 'Another' threat gone at last, Yuhiro thought, as he got to the main floor, I wonder what will happen next.
