Roxy's Reports 27: Yeshurun and Wyatt

At Café Matsuo, in the living room, one day after the events of Roxy's Reports 26...

Yuhiro whistled to himself as he was cleaning the dishes. Since Arashi had a test for the engineering class, he had to lock himself into the room so he can complete it. And much to his chagrin, Respondus Lockdown Browser was being used for the test. That meant Arashi couldn't use any materials or notes (except for a calculator) for the test. To ensure that he could make it through the test, Arashi had to eat a bunch of snacks and get a lot of water bottles beforehand so he wouldn't get hungry or thirsty.

"I'm glad I already wrote that test." Yuhiro commented.

"Well, to be fair, your test was in person before this whole Turf War mess occurred." Herald pointed out.

"Alright, boys. Equipment's set up. So get your butts over here." Roxy stated, as Yuhiro turned off the faucet before going over to the kitchen table and picking up his duel disk. Once that was done, he headed over to the living room and sat down on one of the two couches, where he noticed that Progleo was sleeping nearby. Upon hearing Yuhiro's footsteps, Progleo ran over to where Yuhiro was and jumped onto his lap. "Someone needs some lovins today."

"Me! Me! I need lovins!" Progleo said in joy, with Yuhiro ruffling his fur in the process.

"With that aside, I think it's time we reviewed our next two duelists." Roxy interrupted, as she pressed a button on the TV remote, which showed footage of the events from Epsilon. Pressing the 'Fast Forward' button, Roxy sped through events until she found the one of Yeshurun dueling two grunts from Delta. Once that was done, she opened up two blank templates on her computer. "Starting with the boss of Epsilon himself. Yeshurun."

"Also known as the most honorable boss of the black market, and Epsilon's ruler itself." Yuhiro commented, as words typed onto Yeshurun's profile in the 'Other Aliases' section.

"I did some research on him, and found out that he's a master of hanafuda." Herald added, before turning to Yuhiro. "What in the world is hanafuda?"

"Hanafuda is a Japanese playing card game, where players have to match cards from their hand to the suit of the desired card on the table. The cards are matched, the table card obtained, and both are then laid out in front of the player according to the associated combination." Yuhiro explained.

"And this keeps going until there's a winner." Roxy finished. "Aside from knowing what his gender, name, VRAINS ID, and age is, we do know where he's currently at."

"Indeed." Yuhiro agreed with a smile. "He sent a message, saying that he's back in his home in the real world, along with his wife and son." Words popped up on the 'Residence' section.

"Thanks to us Ignis, of course. After all, if it wasn't for us sending the message at a fast rate, it would have been too late for everyone to log out." Herald commented.

"Right..." Yuhiro and Roxy stated at the same time. Since when did Herald start becoming boastful? Maybe it was the cold turkey of no internet that was affecting him. But before Yuhiro could continue speaking, Roxy beat him to the punch.

"Now onto the good stuff, like his history." Roxy pressed the 'Play' button on the TV remote, which showed a picture of Yeshurun, along with some information below it. "As Epsilon's leader, Yeshurun is well known for his honor amongst the branches. And based on what you told me Yuhiro, he's the only boss that's not only still alive, but also free as well."

"Considering how the other Black Market bosses are either imprisoned or on the run, it makes sense. Besides. Not every bad guy deserves to die." Herald commented.

"Monty gave me a task from Yeshurun himself, where I also had to work with Cheshire as well." Yuhiro said. Words were typed into the 'LINK VRAINS' History' and 'Notes' sections of the profile.

"Just who is Cheshire exactly?" Herald asked. "Another of your allies I don't know about?"

"A temporary acquaintance." Yuhiro clarified. "According to my reports, she was once a bounty hunter, only for Yeshurun to change her worldview entirely. As a result, she joined Epsilon, and became his enforcer."

"In other words, she's a more serious version of Ghost Girl." Roxy commented. "But back onto the subject at hand."

"I found out that Yeshurun met Akira through a man the latter once worked for in order to support Aoi before he joined SOL Technologies." Yuhiro began, a serious look on his face. "And before either of you ask, I have multiple copies of E.M.S. Ones that can't be detected by the naked eye. That, along with a small amount of research, was how I found out." Prior to this discussion, Yuhiro decided to not bring up his meeting with Akira. After all, he didn't want to add any unnecessary trouble, especially with what's going on.

"I guess that's the reason why Akira went to Epsilon. He already knew Yeshurun from long ago, and hoped to create a partnership through their familiarity with one another." Herald figured out. "Ironic how Ace's efforts to eliminate Epsilon through Delta was what sealed the deal."

"Oh yeah."

"I'm with you on that one." Roxy commented, before pressing the 'Play' button on the TV remote, which showed Yeshurun summoning multiple monsters and rearranging the cards in his deck in two consecutive clips. "As seen from this footage, Yeshurun uses the 'Flower Cardian' deck, an archetype that focuses on strategies which mirror hanafuda games. In other words, Yeshurun gathers his cards together by tributing and drawing, as well as using support cards to put the odds in his favor. In exchange, Yeshurun must use a lot of monsters to Synchro Summon his Synchro monsters." Words were typed into the 'Deck' and 'Other Aliases' sections on Yeshurun's profile.

"Interesting. So Yeshurun's one of those tactful duelists." Herald put a hand on his chin, as if to ponder over what he just heard. "You know, Yuhiro. If you reined in your emotions a bit more, you could gain the tactfulness Yeshurun has."

"Hey! I rein my emotions in!" Yuhiro protested. Upon seeing Yuhiro's irritation, Progleo stood up and licked Yuhiro's face. "Come on, Progleo. I appreciate the lovins, but was that necessary?"

"You may rein in your emotions every now and then, but there are times when they control you." Roxy pointed out with a frown, her arms crossed. "Need I remind you of what happened at the Den City Hospital?"

Yuhiro sighed at that comment. It was true; he let his emotions get the better of him. Not only did he defeat every one of Ace's troops (with the help of Hercules/Alpha Mode, Atalanta, and Medusa), he also neuralyzed witnesses, along with any technological equipment within a reasonable radius. What's more, Yuhiro sent a death threat to Ace as well. "You're right, Roxy. I obviously need to do better on that," he conceded. "Yeah. I really need to do better on that."

"Well, you can start by doing your meditation practices again." Roxy firmly suggested.

"As long as I don't have to do meditation, I'm fine with it." Herald said. "As I said before, meditation is nothing but crap."

"That's because you kept rambling on and on about some Godzilla monster invading a Sim City recreation of the Cyberse World." Yuhiro commented, which made Herald blush.

"I like Sim City. There's no shame in that..." he pouted out of embarrassment.

"Anyhow, let's move on, shall we." Roxy stated, as she pressed the 'Play' button on the TV remote, which sped up to the point where Yeshurun Synchro Summoned Flower Cardian Lightflare. "As shown from this footage, Flower Cardian Lightflare is a Level 10 Synchro monster with 5000 attack points and zero defense points."

"Okay. In terms of monsters with attack points, this monster has the highest attack points we've seen so far." Herald said. "And a Synchro monster at that too."

"But it comes at a cost, as to Synchro Summon Lightflare, you need a total of five monsters. One Tuner monster, and four non-tuner monsters." Yuhiro told Herald. Words were typed into the 'Ace monster' section of Yeshurun's profile. "Lightflare can negate Spell or Trap cards once per turn during either player's turn, and he also negates the effects of the monster he's battling during the Battle Phase only. And in the event Lightflare leaves the field, Yeshurun can Special Summon one 'Flower Cardian' Synchro monster with a different name from his Extra deck to his field."

"Thus making Lightflare the epitome of offense, defense, and recovery itself." Roxy finished, as more words were typed into the 'Ace monster' section of Yeshurun's profile. "You know, Yuhiro. I think your 'Cyreath' gods have some competition here."

"Hey! Zeus, Poseidon, and Hades have some really strong effects!" Yuhiro protested, much to Roxy's amusement. "If it weren't for them, who knows where I would be?"

"He makes a point there." Herald added in support for Yuhiro's comment. "Hades helped against Dancho and Slipstream, Poseidon against Lord Kazuma and Stregone, and Zeus against Infearno and Blood Shepherd."

Roxy rolled her eyes. While Yuhiro and Herald may have a point there, Yeshurun still had the epitome of offense, defense, and recovery itself in Lightflare, even though the cost was high to pay off. "Alright. Alright. I believe you. With that out of the way, what duel grade should we give Yeshurun?"

Yuhiro and Herald thought it over for a moment. What duel grade would be worthy for an honorable leader and duelist like Yeshurun? After thinking it over, the both of them said at the same time, "S for Savage!"

"And why do you think that?"

"Yeshurun's tactfulness makes him a deadly opponent in a duel and in a fight." Yuhiro began. "He also has charisma and ethics, which is the main reason on why his men obey him."

"Thus making him one of the more honorable people that are still alive in this world." Herald finished. "Maybe he'll help us out in the future."

"Perhaps. But we don't know the future, Herald. Anything can happen." Roxy replied. "Very well, then. Yeshurun gets an S for Savage." After Roxy put this information in, she showed the profile to Yuhiro and Herald, which looked like this:

Name: Yeshurun

VRAINS ID: Yeshurun (like other people, he uses his real name in the network)

Other aliases: Ruler of Epsilon, Master of Hanafuda, The Most Honorable boss of the Black Market

Gender: Male

Age: Unknown (we estimate he's in his late 30's to early 40's)

Residence: Somewhere in the real world (Yuhiro found out that he's safe and sound in the real world. Honestly, of all the Black Market bosses, Yeshurun's the most honorable among them. Perhaps maybe the Black Market can be transformed as something different if it somehow resumes operations again one day).

Job: Ruler of Epsilon, Yakuza boss (the fact that samurais obey his commands makes sense).

Skill: Unknown (he only dueled once in a Master Duel).

Deck: Flower Cardian (an archetype that focuses on strategies which mirror hanafuda games. In other words, Yeshurun gathers his cards together by tributing and drawing, as well as using support cards to put the odds in his favor. In exchange, Yeshurun must use a lot of monsters to Synchro Summon his Synchro monsters)

Ace monster: Flower Cardian Lightflare (a Level 10 Synchro monster with 5000 attack points and zero defense points. Honestly, in terms of strength, this monster is higher than our enemies so far. He can negate Spell or Trap cards once per turn during either player's turn, and he also negates the effects of the monster he's battling during the Battle Phase only. And in the event Lightflare leaves the field, Yeshurun can Special Summon one 'Flower Cardian' Synchro monster with a different name from his Extra deck to his field).

LINK VRAINS History: A long time ago, Yeshurun met Akira Zaizen through a man Akira once worked for in order to support Aoi much before he joined SOL Technologies.

SengokuQueen also worked with Epsilon's right hand woman, Cheshire, a while back. Yuhiro also took a mission for Epsilon and worked with Cheshire as well.

Made an uneasy alliance with SOL Technologies to stand against Ace and his followers. Ironically, Ace's efforts to eliminate Epsilon through Delta was what sealed the deal.

Duel Grade right now: S (Savage) (Yeshurun's tactfulness makes him a deadly opponent in a duel and in a fight. He also has charisma and ethics, which is the main reason on why his men obey him, thus making him one of the more honorable people that are still alive in this world).

Notes: As the leader of Epsilon, Yeshurun is well known for being a duelist that sticks to tradition and holds honour above all the other branches. Now the only leader who is currently active, and his branch may be the only one still thriving following the Turf War, as all the other branches are all out of commission with their bosses either on the run or arrested. Hopefully he can bring peace to the city in cooperation with SOL Technologies. And who knows? Maybe he can turn the Black Market into something WAY BETTER.

His branch focuses on traditional Japanese culture from shrines and new year festivals, shogi, samurai.

Once that was done, Roxy closed Yeshurun's profile before going over to the other blank template. Pressing a button on the TV remote, the screen changed to show a picture of Wyatt. "And this is a picture of Wyatt Brisa, the boss of Zeta branch. Also known as the Machine master." Words popped up on the 'Name', 'VRAINS ID', and Other aliases sections on the profile.

"I did some digging, and found that he's still alive." Yuhiro said. "Turns out that Blood Shepherd destroyed his account and put a tracker on him in the real world."

"Thus leading to how he was caught and put in jail." Herald finished, as words were typed into the 'Residence' section. "And considering your statement on Wyatt being a machine master, it makes sense. After all, Zeta is well known for the construction of various weapons, as well as the shipment of equipment to other branches."

"But in the end, you guys put a stop to it. For good at the moment." Roxy pointed out. "I actually spoke to Emma recently, and she told me that she had some history with Wyatt. Apparently, she stopped a weapons transport and set it back by five months, thus putting Wyatt at the mercy of the previous Overseer." Words were then inputted into the 'LINK VRAINS' History' section.

"It's not just selling weapons. Zeta also has a history for selling strength-enhancing drugs." Yuhiro stated, the words being inputted into the 'Notes' section. "I heard rumors about people who bought so many of those drugs that they became addicted. To the point where they spent their earnings on those drugs rather than equipment."

"On the plus side, you didn't buy those drugs Yuhiro." Herald told him.

"Do healing stims count?" Yuhiro countered.

"It's like Tylenol, Yuhiro. As long as you don't overdo them, you'll be fine. And be at ease. I got a good supply of healing stims should you have an anxiety attack." Roxy assured Yuhiro.

"I think we're getting off topic here." Herald told both Yuhiro and Roxy. "Since Wyatt is focused mainly on machines, I'm assuming his deck is full of machines? Scrap monsters perhaps?"

"Herald, what good can scraps do in a fight?" Yuhiro questioned, his eyebrow raised at him. "It's not like you can chuck piles of scrap at an opponent and expect them to be defeated."

"Yeah... but anything can be used to win in a battle." Herald replied.

"I don't believe you, Herald. At least until I see it with my own eyes."

"Ditto." Roxy agreed. "On the topic of Wyatt's deck. He uses the 'Machina' archetype."

"Another old archetype? I'm guessing Ghost Girl was able to steamroll Wyatt?" Herald inquired.

"On the contrary, she had trouble in winning the duel." Roxy immediately answered. "The 'Machina' archetype originally focused on Special Summoning Machina Force with Covington's effect. However, thanks to recent support, that strategy is rendered moot. As such, the archetype now focuses on two things. One: To Special Summon themselves by discarding Machine monsters, and effects that destroy friendly Machine monsters (or trigger in response to their destruction) for advantage. Two: To ruthlessly beatdown the opponent through high attack point Machine monsters. And if you don't believe me, here's proof." She pressed a button on the TV remote, which showed footage of Wyatt's duel against Ghost Girl. Here, Wyatt added various cards to his hand before summoning Machina Metalcruncher and Machina Fortress to his field and inflicting damage to Ghost Girl. In response, Ghost Girl inflicted massive battle damage. However, Wyatt eventually summoned Machina Ruinforce, where he reduced Ghost Girl to 500 life points. Luckily, thanks to Altergeist Memorygant, she was able to win the duel. As the footage was playing, words were typed into the 'Deck' section of Wyatt's profile. "You see that massive monster, Herald? That's one of the new support cards the 'Machina' archetype got."

"Okay. I can see what you mean, Roxy. Still, there are far worse monsters out there." Herald said.

"Machina Ruinforce. A Level 10 Dark Machine monster with 4600 attack points and 4100 defense points." Yuhiro began. "While its summoning conditions are steep, Wyatt can pay half of his life points to not only negate a card or effect during the Battle Phase, but also halve his opponents life points as well. And when it's destroyed, Wyatt can Special Summon up to three banished 'Machina' monsters to his field." Words were then inputted into the 'Ace monster' section of Wyatt's profile.

"So card negation, life point halving, and monster replacement together. Not a bad combination, if you ask me." Herald added. "But regardless, I still stand my ground on the fact that there are far worse duel monsters out there. Need I remind the both of you about Revolver's Borreload Dragon? Infearno's Lucifer, Condemner of the Burning Abyss? Drachen's Red-Eyes Flare Metal Dragon? Or Haru's Scyllonic Hydradrive Kragun?"

Both Yuhiro and Roxy thought this over. Herald was certainly right. There were far worse duel monsters out there. Not just in terms of strength, but in terms of effects as well.

"I guess you make a good point there." Roxy conceded. "Still, a monster doesn't need to come from the Extra Deck to become a strong card. After all, there are strong duel monsters that come from the main deck during a duel, and they can catch duelists off guard."

"That's why we're making these profiles in the first place." Yuhiro reminded Herald. "To analyze our opponents dueling strategies, their history, their philosophy, their overall art, if you will."

"Art?" Herald and Roxy repeated at the same time in confusion. Before Herald could continue speaking, Roxy beat him to the punch.

"Just what you mean by their 'art'?" she questioned, now curious as to what Yuhiro will say next.

"The pieces that makes the person whole." Yuhiro answered. "If you take someone piece by piece based on the various sections of a profile, they're only just pieces of a greater whole. When you combine them together, it shows their art. Or who the person truly is as a whole rather than the sum of their parts."

Both Herald and Roxy were speechless at that comment. Did Yuhiro act philosophical at that moment? It was strange... and a bit disturbing. Yuhiro never was philosophical before. Could this be due to recent events? Either way, it was just... a little disturbing.

"Moving that aside, what duel grade should we give this guy?" Herald asked Yuhiro and Roxy. "I mean, I was originally thinking a C for Crazy, but considering how the 'Machina' archetype evolved, maybe a B- for Badass with a minus?"

"It's a logical one." Yuhiro confirmed, thinking it over. "Being an old archetype like the 'Amazoness' archetype, 'Machina' has some old, yet efficient strategies that can catch someone off guard if they're not prepared. I mean, as shown through the duel footage, it does have the capability of fighting against decks that are more... modern."

"Makes sense there." Roxy agreed, crossing her arms. After words were inputted into the 'Duel Grade' section, she showed Yuhiro and Herald the completed profile, which looked like this:

Name: Wyatt Brisa

VRAINS ID: Wyatt Brisa (why does everyone use their real names in the network? Not secure, if you ask me).

Other aliases: Machine master

Gender: Male

Age: Unknown (we estimate he's in his thirties).

Residence: Den Penitentiary (we all thought Blood Shepherd killed him, when in reality, he destroyed his account and put a tracker on him in the real world. At least he's alive, that's for sure).

Job: Boss of Zeta

Skill: Unknown (he didn't participate in a Speed Duel yet).

Deck: Machina (this archetype originally focused on Special Summoning Machina Force with Covington's effect. However, thanks to recent support, that strategy is rendered moot. As such, the archetype now focuses on two things. One: To Special Summon themselves by discarding Machine monsters, and effects that destroy friendly Machine monsters (or trigger in response to their destruction) for advantage. Two: To ruthlessly beatdown the opponent through high attack point Machine monsters).

Ace monster: Machina Ruinforce (a Level 10 Dark Machine monster with 4600 attack points and 4100 defense points. While its summoning conditions are steep, Wyatt can pay half of his life points to not only negate a card or effect during the Battle Phase, but also halve his opponents life points as well. And when it's destroyed, Wyatt can Special Summon up to three banished 'Machina' monsters to his field).

LINK VRAINS History: Being the head of the Zeta Branch, Wyatt oversaw the construction of various weapons, as well as the shipment of equipment to other branches. He also had a history with Ghost Girl a while back, as she was assigned to oversee a shipment of weapons. However, she ended up setting his weapons production back by five months, which got Wyatt in trouble with the previous Overseer.

Ghost Girl ended up defeating Wyatt in a duel, which made operations in Zeta shut down in the network. Wyatt was taken out by Blood Shepherd not long after, the first of the Black Market Branches to fall, as his weapon caches were also up for grabs by everyone else. Luckily, he's still alive and incarcerated in Den Penitentiary, and hopefully, authorities can find and get to the weapon caches first.

Duel Grade right now: B- (B for Badass with a -) (While this archetype's an old one, it did get recent support, which is the reason why I didn't give this guy a C for Crazy. Though it can be disrupted, if you aren't prepared, you'll get bulldozed by Wyatt's machines).

Notes: Zeta's real world operations included not just supplying weapons to various parties in Den City but also outside its' borders. Drug trade and trafficking as well, recent spikes in violence and addiction could be attributed to this, with the supply cut hopefully they will be down too.

It has close ties with Delta of all the branches.

With the profile done, Roxy closed the page before turning off her computer.

"Hey, guys! Sorry I'm late! The test was just so long!" Arashi said out of nowhere, as he ran down the stairs towards the living room. Upon getting there, his jaw dropped. "Aw come on! You guys already done the profiles without me?"

"Don't worry. We'll make sure you have a say for the next one." Herald promised. "In terms of the branches we visited, I'm guessing we're reviewing the Guzik family next?"

"Yup, but that can wait for tomorrow. I mean, we have other stuff to do." Yuhiro pointed out. "At least the Guzik family are safely behind bars at the moment."

"I still can't believe how you were able to convince Seamus of all people to surrender like that." Arashi stated, going over to one of the couches and sitting beside Yuhiro. Progleo then went over to Arashi and sat down on his lap, the latter ruffling his fur in the process. "Guess that means you're the strongest now."

"As much as I want to prove that I am the strongest, I can't play video games because I'm grounded, remember?" Yuhiro reminded Arashi.

"But I'm down to playing some video games!" Herald said. "Considering how the Internet's not available for me at the moment, let's play some Wii Bowling, shall we?"

"I'm in as well!" Roxy stated, going over to press the 'On' button for the Wii before grabbing three Wii remotes.

As Yuhiro watched them beginning to play Wii Bowling, recent events played in his mind. Especially the ones regarding the battle in Gamma and the incident at the hospital. Maybe it wouldn't hurt to bring some healing stims around with me, he decided. After all, who knows when I'll need them? Yuhiro also made a mental note to invite Yusaku and Takeru for a round of video games, as all of them needed some rest and relaxation from the Turf War.

Elsewhere, at the Zaizen residence...

Akira narrowed his eyes as he watched the news on TV. On one hand, he was glad the Turf War was finally over. With the various branches taken down, the crime rate in the network has taken a massive nosedive. On the other hand, Akira couldn't fathom how many lives were taken, especially the ones in the real world. To think that Ace would have the nerve to do that...

"Since the end of the Turf War, dozens of criminals have been captured by the FBI and police," a male reporter said. "However, with officers from the both of them being stretched thin, troops are being called in from other areas of Japan to help with the search and arrest of-."

"You've been staring at that TV screen for a quite a while, haven't you?" Aoi said, going over and pressing a button on the TV remote, which turned off the TV.

"Sorry, Aoi. Just a lot on my mind." Akira apologized, turning to her. "By the way, how's online school?"

"It's... new. Something I didn't expect." Aoi admitted. "And what about you? How's the hybrid work schedule going?"

Akira thought that question over for a moment. Following the events of the Turf War, the three Kings mandated that all SOL Technologies employees followed a hybrid work schedule. One where on some days, they had to work at home, and in the office on other days. This was done for two reasons. One: To keep all the employees safe while SOL Technologies improved its security. Two: To ensure that all the employees' health was in a good frame of mind, as the Turf War impacted some more than others. As such, SOL Technologies offered mental health services at a low cost. "Like you said. It's something I didn't expect. But if there's one thing that came out of it, it's that I can spend some more time with you," he responded with a smile.

"Same here." Aoi agreed. The moment, however, was interrupted when a notification popped up on Akira's watch.

"My apologies Aoi, but I have to prepare a meeting online in a few minutes." Akira said, standing up and heading over towards his room. However, he stopped, as he recalled a conversation between Yuhiro and himself.

"There's a smile on your lips, Mr. Security Chief. You should be careful on who you show that to."

"Is that what it looked like?"

"Indeed it did. A smile befitting that of a successful, yet conflicted man. Did you have a pleasant encounter in Epsilon, Akira?"

"Yes I did. I feel as if I have been reunited with an old friend."

"A friend from the Black Market you worked for a long time ago. I'm not mad or anything. After all, you and me are similar, as we both worked on the Black Market for someone else's sake."

"The Turf War's beginning to escalate Yuhiro. As Security Chief, I need to end it so Ace won't hurt anymore people."

"Even if the network turns into Hell in the process?"

"Yuhiro, please tell me Playmaker and Soulburner's identities. If you do-."

"If I tell you, you'll be forced to tell SOL Technologies' higher ups. Besides, I can guarantee you that the situation would become ugly if that happened. SOL Technologies prevented me from saving someone that I really care about. Someone who the azure-overcoated man put back in the hospital, just when she was about to finally get her life back. I can't blame you, for you didn't send them out yourself. However, you do have the responsibility to rein them in. If you fail... then I'll do it for you, and it won't be pretty."

A frown appeared on Akira's face as he turned to Aoi. "Listen, Aoi. I have a request for you."

"A request?" Aoi repeated. "What's up?"

"Could you keep an eye on Yuhiro for me?"

Aoi frowned. "Like spying? Akira, what's going on?"

"After I made an alliance with Epsilon, I was heading home when I saw Yuhiro nearby." Akira began. "From our conversation, I can tell that something's not right. It's as if he's been affected by a personal event. One that's slowly turning him into a different person."

"You're not the only one thinking about this, Akira. I too noticed that Yuhiro's not himself." Aoi agreed. "But nevertheless, I can't just pry into what he's going through. It's called privacy for a reason."

"I know, but perhaps he'll open up to you if you show that you're there for him. After all..." Akira lightly smiled. "He is your friend, and friends always stick together."

Aoi thought this over. It was true. Yuhiro did open up to her, but only partially for a single reason, which replayed itself in her mind.

"I can't share everything with you, Emma, or Akira. Because if I did, you'd likely tell your brother, who would then be forced to tell his higher ups. I can guarantee you that the situation would become ugly if that happened."

She then sighed, knowing that Akira was officially right. "Alright, I'll see what I can do," she conceded.

"Thanks, Aoi. I appreciate your help." Akira replied. "That being said, you'll have to excuse me." He then walked over to his room, intent on getting ready for the meeting.

I don't know what happened to you Yuhiro, but know that I'll always be your ally, Aoi thought in her mind. And maybe you'll one day tell me everything that's going on.

Author's Notes

Hi, everyone! I hope you enjoyed the profiles for Yeshurun and Wyatt. Next up is the Guzik Family! See you really soon!
