Hey everyone, I'm back! So, this chapter is a bit of a short one, but I hope you still like it. Enjoy!

Transformers Animated: Different Angle

Chapter 21: Restless Night

Disclaimer: I don't own Transformers Animated

(Jacy's POV)

(Four days later - 11:44 pm)

The past few days have gone by so quickly as Kylie and I continue training with the bots. And believe me when I say, it's tough. I'm so sore, I'm surprised I can still move. Though despite this, I feel like I've accomplished quite a bit. Each day my forcefield gets bigger and bigger the more I train with Ratchet. Plus, I've been learning a lot of self defense techniques from Prowl.

A smile soon spreads across my face as I lay on my berth, my inner fan girl going off like crazy in my head.

I can't believe the autobots are training us! I'm living the fangirl dream! Nobody wake me!

I smile big, feeling like I'm in a fanfiction story. And not only do I get to hang out with the autobots, but I'm actually starting to feel confident about myself the more I train.

I feel like I can do anything!

Just then my smile disappears as I start remembering current events. I've been distracted with training and spending time with the bots, I completely forgot about what's been bothering me. Only now... I'm more torn than ever.

I look over at Kylie, seeing her sound asleep on her front with her arms and legs sprawled out. Wanting to think somewhere else, I quietly get up and walk out the door. My tank already starts feeling queasy as I make my way down the hall towards the main area. I don't know why, but I just want to go there to think.

It's not until I get there that I see Optimus still awake, his back facing me as he leans in the main doorway with his arms crossed. How come he's still up?

A part of me wants to turn around and head back to my hangar, but another part of me wants to talk to him.

Come on, Jacy. Step out of your comfort zone for a change.

Letting out a vent, I walk over towards the prime as he continues staring outside.

"Um, hey," I say to him.

He jumps a little, making me jump as well as he turns around to see me.

"Sorry!" I say, waving my servos, "I didn't mean to scare you."

Optimus lets out a vent of relief. "No worries. I was too busy thinking and didn't hear you." He looks at me curiously, "how come you're still up?"

"Can't sleep. Er, I mean recharge," I say, correcting myself.

"Well, that makes two of us," he says, looking like something is bothering him.

Wondering what's wrong, I ask, "is um... everything okay?"

He looks back outside. "I've been thinking about what's been going on lately. How we always seem to lose an AllSpark fragment to the decepticons. And with all these battles happening, its hard to keep up with repairs." He lets out a vent, "Fanzone was right. If this keeps up, there won't be anything left of the city."

I feel bad just from hearing that. Not to mention, Kylie and I took part in some of those fights. "You're doing the best you can," I tell him.

"It's not enough," Optimus says, a frown now on his face, "and it doesn't help with the fact Megatron is out there somewhere building a spacebridge."

"He won't get far with it," I tell him, "not without Professor Sumdac."

"That won't stop him from trying."

That is true. Megatron is not one to give up so easily. Heck, even after he lost the Great War, he went searching for the AllSpark for millions of years.

I look over at Prime, seeing how upset he looks. I feel like I should say something.

But what the heck do I say?! I'm no good with this kind of talk! Why did I even bother asking?!

Letting out a vent, I try speaking what comes to mind. "...You know what I like about you bots?"

Still frowning, he gives me a look of confusion.

I feel stupid for even saying it, but I keep going. "You never give up."

His frown disappears as I continue.

"I mean, no matter how bad the scenario is, you just go and do it. Even when you have doubts, you still try without worrying if you'll fail or not. You're willing to put your spark on the line for doing the right thing and..." Realizing I'm just blabbering away, I pinch my brow and vent, "well, you get it. Anyway, the point I'm trying to make is... you got this. If anyone can stop the cons and help this city, its you and your team."

There's a slight pause, making me wonder if what I just said was stupid. Finally, Optimus lets out a vent.

"Thanks," he says, giving me a small smile, "I needed to hear that."

Relieved, I smile back. "Glad I could help." My smile soon disappears as I start thinking about my own problems. Wanting some advice, I look back at him. "Can I ask you something?"

"Sure."

"How do you do it?"

He raises his optical ridge at me. "What do you mean?"

"I mean... how are you so willing to do what you do?"

He thinks for a moment before shrugging. "I just do it, I guess. For me, its a matter of doing the right thing."

"But, don't you sometimes fear something might go wrong? Like, what if you make a mistake?"

He lets out a vent. "a lot of times, things like that do happen. But that doesn't mean I can't make up for those mistakes."

I think on this before asking him a couple more questions. "So, what if someone is scared to try, but they want to help? What advice would you give them?"

He looks at me with a curious look before answering, "Well, I think I would say to them that they shouldn't let fear get in the way. But they have to be sure if they really are up for it."

Easier said then done, I think to myself. But at the same time, I ponder on the thought.

"Huh," I say, not really sure of what else to say to him. It's not long until I let out a yawn. Figuring it's a good time to close our conversation, I say, "I uh, think I'm going to try and get some slee- I mean recharge. I'll see you tomorrow." I turn around and start walking away.

"Hey, Jacy."

Stopping in my tracks, I turn around to look back at Prime.

He gives me a smirk. "As cliché as this sounds, I would also tell ''them'' to follow their spark."

I feel slightly embarrassed, knowing he's figured out who "them" really is. Still, I let out a vent before giving him a small smile. "Good night, Optimus."

"Good night," he says as I walk away.

Making my way down the hall, I let out another vent as Prime's words ring through my helm. He's not wrong. The only thing holding me back is me. But am I sure I can do this? Will I be able to handle it?

(Third POV)

(Decepticon Base)

After having to put up with Starscream's constant complaining for the last hour, Airstrike heads over to her quarters, relishing the peace and quiet while it still lasts. Once there, she lets out a vent and walks straight for her data pad sitting on the table. For about a week, she has had it rapidly go through many profiles of all cybertronians, hoping to find two individuals in particular.

She frowns at the screen, seeing it still going.

"Ugh, this is getting me nowhere," she grumbles, tossing the data pad off to the side, "Megatron has to complete his space bridge, and I have to get rid of the autobots before then," she rubs her temples in frustration, "and now I have to deal with those two neutrals. Where did they even come from? It's like they just popped out of thin air."

The flyer stops rubbing her temples as she pauses. Her mind starts recalling the day those two supposedly showed up. The same day that...

Her optics flare red. "The AllSpark surge."

(Jacy's POV)

(Autobot Base, the next morning- 8:16 am)

I lay on my berth wide awake with my arms folded over my chest, deep in thought as my finger taps on my arm repeatedly. I barely slept at all after talking to Optimus. All night I've been thinking about what we talked about. What he said to me.

After five more minutes of thinking, I finally get up and make my way over to Sari's room. She's probably still sleeping, but this can't wait. Soon as I get there, I immediately knock on her door. It takes a while, but the garage door finally opens, revealing a tired looking Sari still in her pajamas.

The girl lets out a yawn as she looks up at me. "why'd you wake me up?" she asks tiredly.

"Sorry," I told her as I kneel down in front of her, "but I couldn't wait."

She looks at me weird. "Wait for what?"

I vent. "I need you to tell me everything that has happened before Kylie and I arrived. Every detail."

"Why?" she asks.

"Because I want to know what the heck is going on around here."

Finally! LOL! Bit of a short chapter, I know. The next chapter should be longer than this. Will Jacy find out what's going on? If so, will she decide to try and stop it?

I am still open to suggestions for future chapters if you guys have any ideas. I love the ones you guys have given me so far, and would like to hear more from you.

Also, thanks for the reviews! I'm glad you are enjoying this story. Hopefully I will update again soon. Until next time! God bless!
