A day after Sonic's amnesia fiasco, Sonic is seen jumping down into the Freedom Fighter HQ with Rotor enjoying a nice beverage for early in the morning.

Rotor: "Heya, Sonic. Are you feeling okay?"

Sonic: "Outside of a rough night sleep? Yeah. Just fine. Where is everyone?"

Rotor: "Bunnie's taking the day off for her arm to fully readjust after… uh… you know… Sally went to go see Tails at the pier, and Antoine is doing solo patrol duty."

Sonic: "And what are you up to?"

Rotor: "Drinking coffee. Got to start your day off right."

Sonic isn't much of a coffee drinker, but she could use one right now. She sits down next to Rotor, still feeling bad about attacking everyone, which the walrus notices.

Rotor: "Aw, come on, Sonic. You didn't mean anything by it. You're still one of us. Bunnie hasn't been around you quite as long as the rest of us. And you know how Tails gets."

Sonic: "Still sucks though. Kind of shows that while I can be everyone's biggest protector, I can just as easily be everyone's worst nightmare…"

Rotor: "Hey, I know what'll cheer you up."

Sonic perks up, joining Rotor as they stood up and walked over to the security monitor.

Rotor: "Earlier today, our surveillance caught something going on in the skies a ways away from Knothole. I dunno what it was, but the Swatbots have been pretty active doing whatever it is they are doing."

Sonic: "Sounds like trouble with a capital 'T'. Alright, I'm off to investigate. If anyone asks, tell 'em I went out to smash some bots!"

Sonic then speeds out of the hideout, heading out in the direction Rotor pointed out. Rotor is left smiling to himself.

Rotor: "Sonic just needed an easy mission to clear her head. She's got this."

Out in the Great Forest, a ways from Knothole Village, Sonic rushes through the forest, dodging trees until she came upon a Swatbot Air Carrier pursuing something in the sky. Sonic focused on the 'something' in question, only to end up surprised.

Sonic: "A… A dragon!? I thought they were a fairy tale…"

Sonic looked around before finding a thin tree to use as a slingshot to send her at the Air Carrier.

Sonic: "Fairy tale or not, that dragon's in danger…"

In the skies above, the dragon is seen dodging laser fire from the Air Carrier, trying her best to try and not get shot.

Dragon: "Go away! I don't want any trouble!"

The Air Carrier continued to fire away at the dragon. When the dragon attempted to breath fire on the ship, a barrier blocked the attack. Sonic pulls the thin tree as far back as she could without breaking it as she aimed herself exactly where she thinks the ship would go.

Sonic: "Time to make an impromptu landing!"

She flings herself from the tree and into the air. With a Spin Attack, she crashes right through the door of the ship, being greeted by several Swatbots.

Swatbots: "Priority One: Sonic the Hedgehog. Destroy!"

Sonic: "Come and get me boys!"

Sonic began to jump around, avoiding laser fire as she began to destroy the robots. Once they were beaten, the pilot turned to see he was the only one left.

Sonic: "Do yourself a favor, Swatty, and land this ship. I'll make this quick and painless afterwards."

Swatbot Pilot: "Not so, hedgehog. If I go down, you are coming with me."

Sonic raises an eyebrow before she sees the robot turn on his self destruction. Sonic immediately turns around to leave, but she was only barely too late. The explosion pushes Sonic out of the ship, burning the back of her quills as a smoke trail follows her out. The dragon sees this and immediately dives down to catch Sonic, the hedgehog landing on the dragon's back as the ship crashes and explodes. The dragon soon lands, letting Sonic off gently.

Dragon: "Oh gosh… Are you okay, ma'am? Thank you for helping me… I really appreciate it…"

Sonic: "Ow… Don't worry… The only thing hurt are my quills…"

Sonic says, standing back up, looking up at the large dragon. A blue-green dragon with a pink belly with matching pink hair. She had a notable black ring in her nose.

Sonic: "Wow. You do look like the kind of dragon I've read stories about."

Dragon: "Stories? Y-You mean our history… Oh gosh…"

Sonic: "Heh. More like just some stories my Uncle Chuck would tell me before tucking me in when I was a much smaller hedgehog. I'm Sonic. What's your name?"

Dragon: "Dulcy. I can't say where I'm from, but… There is a lot I want to say… You see… I was born in a huge colony of dragons, living a solitary life away from other mobians. We lived that way peaceful… until an army of strange machines led by a flabby overlord invaded our home… All of my friends and family, including my mom, were turned into those machines, leaving me the only one left in that colony… Another colony took me in and helped raise me…"

Sonic: "Did this other colony end up getting invaded too?"

Dulcy: "No. I just… left that colony in order to explore the world. I just didn't want to stay in hiding forever. I wanted to explore the world. And I have been for a while… And I just so happen to fly too close to a big city near this forest…"

Sonic: "Yeah, Robotropolis is a no-go, Dulcy. That's where that flabby overlord you mentioned lives. Me and my Freedom Fighter friends have been fighting his tyranny for years now. We could use the extra fire power though…"

Dulcy just shakes her head.

Dulcy: "I'm sorry, Sonic. But we dragons are a peaceful race; and I don't want to really fight either… But I don't mind returning the favor of you helping me today. I owe you that at least."

Sonic: "Good enough for me. Come on - let's go meet my friends in the hidden village of Knothole."

Sonic hops onto Dulcy's back when offered to fly back there. It is there that Dulcy is quickly accepted by the mobians there as a welcomed guest, with Sally herself welcoming her. It would not be long before Dulcy was called in to return that favor, much sooner than expected, when the Freedom Fighters devised a risky plan involving one of them becoming fully roboticized , which backfired when Robotnik saw through their stunt. With Dulcy's debt repaid, she left Knothole Village soon after, continuing her journey to explore the world. Though their time together was brief, Sonic does wonder if she and Dulcy will ever meet again… Perhaps one day…
