I found this AU fic languishing on my computer and thought I'd dust it off, spruce it up a bit, and share it. I began it a while ago, when I wrote those other fics (Earth, Sea & Sky, and Oxford) about a younger Ruth and Harry. As always, Kudos owns what's theirs and the rest is my own work. Starting from where Ruth returns from Cyprus and keeping Jo alive, a whole new path opens up for Harry and Ruth, not without some bumps along the way.

Henry Parks is an old spook. Born before world war two had started the man has seen everything the Intelligence World could throw at him. As Harry's former mentor and boss can he get Harry and the team to help or is it time for one last mission to save not only his grandson but the country?

Starting on the day of Ros's funeral and with what is a short opening chapter, what follows will veer off in an altogether different direction.

A shock phone call. An old friend in danger and an enemy within? Is it really an accident or is it a case of friendly fire?

Second chances are rare. The first time around, Harry ignored all his rules and let Ruth Evershed into his life, only to lose her to outside forces. When she returns, Harry vows that things will be different but only if can learn from the past.

Angst set between S6 and S7.

A man hell bent on vengeance causes problems for the Section. Can Harry look after his team? Is there more going on than meets the eye?

An epilogue to Not Just any life and at a time when two years later, Harry and Ruth's quiet existence is about to change.

Set just a few weeks after Ruth has said no to a second date with Harry, the chance to work together away from the grid is handed on a plate. What happens after that will be make or break.

S9-10 rewrite with one major difference: Ruth says yes.

London Bridge is Falling Down, falling down, falling down. London Bridge is falling down, my Fair Lady. How I think the Section D team would cope with this week's events. I hope its respectful.

Given the events at Balmoral in the past day or so, and also given the role that MI-5 has (or is meant to have) in guarding the monarch, I found myself wondering about what kind of conversation H & R might have about this, were both of them to have made it to present day. One shot only (written in a hurry)

It isn't until after Adam's death, that Ros appreciates the impact of losing Ruth has had on Harry. More so now when Harry finds himself looking after Wes. It's time for her to make amends by bringing her home.

The whole of the UK are ready to celebrate the Queen's landmark Jubilee. How are our favourite spooks dealing with it all? Will they all get through the four day bonanza with their team and sanity intact?

This story has been written for the express purpose of writing one of my favourite Spooks characters. This is the first chapter, (most likely) of two. I have not yet written the next chapter, but the story feels incomplete as a one shot. Second and last chapter now up.
