It had been eight years since The Battle for Seattle and Luz Noceda one of the few people the fight that battle. Now Luz has to find a place to stay for the summer thankfully she has an old friend to do that. Though that old friend should have told that she's from another dimension with a boiling ocean and rain. Oh well at least she won't be without powers.

4. Chapter 4

Chapter 3

A New Friend

It had been two days since she had beaten Adegasht and learned Magic from the Glyphs. When she showed Eda the Light Glyph she and her Mama were amazed by it.

Eda stated that it was some ancient form of Magic from the first Witches before they got their Bile Sacks. It was also that moment that Luz decided to stay in the Boiling Isles for the summer. She also told her older friends about and they told her to be careful and to not forget about the Pilgrimage.

Luz told them that she wouldn't miss it for the world.

Victoria wished Luz luck and reminded her to use both the Blast Shards and Blast Core.

She did and she got her Bubble Bomb back. So that was a plus.

Right now she was walking in the woods with a slime ball on her person. Eda and King were working to get the human junk from creatures called Trash Slugs.

Well at least she now knew where all of the socks and Tupperware lids of the world were at.

Luz looks at the slime ball and wondering what to do with it.

"Huh a Wild Witch has to be resourceful huh?" Luz said as she puts away the slime ball.

That was another thing Eda decided to do she had promised Luz that she would make her into her apprentice which was nice of her. Especially since she doesn't have a Bile Sack to do magic.

Would that have stopped her or her younger self? No it wouldn't. Despite being in that hellhole and fighting in Seattle she still loved Magic.

Luz walked around the woods a bit more until she heard a voice.

"You can do it!" The Voice said.

Luz then followed the source of the voice. Which was a young Witch girl.

The Witch Girl is a shorter-than-average, plus-sized, stocky fair-skinned girl who has pointed ears, olive-green eyes, and short, neat navy-blue hair with a few loose strands.

She wears a pair of round gold-framed glasses and what looked a typical school uniform, consisting of a gray tunic, a dark gray cowl and belt with a gold pin, and gray-black short-heeled shoes. Her sleeves and tights were orchid and she wore a pair of boots.

Luz ever curious listened in.

"You can do it! Even if you get a bad grade, it's not a reflection of who you are as a Witch! And my dads are right! There are more opportunities on this track! Now, get to school!" The girl said, taking a confident step forwards.

Luz smiled at her confidence.

All that confidence left when she realized she'd stepped on a flower.

"Oh no! I'm sorry little guy!" she said, taking a knee to cradle the plant. She traced a spell circle, and the plant flickered back to life.

Ok Luz could recognize this from miles away.

This was a classic case of doing what her dads want against what she wants and judging by the mention of bad grades she was not good at what her dads want to do.

She knew what to do. But just before she could speak when a wagon came into view, powered by magic. A top of said wagon was a pretty Witch girl.

The Witch is thin and pale-skinned with bright golden eyes and pointed ears. Her hair started out as chin-length, with a ponytail pulling the front hair out of her face, and a mostly covered undercut visible at the temples. Her hair is also a two-toned, dyed aquamarine-green with brown hair, her natural hair color visible at the roots.

She wears the same gray tunic with the same colored sleeves and leggings as the other Witch girl, a dark gray belt, cowl, and dark-gray heeled boots with a light gray top, and red and white socks underneath. The rest of her attire includes wearing triangle-shaped black earrings and black nail polish. She also has a star pin on her cowl, which showed that she was the top student.

Did Luz also mention that she was pretty?

Anyway she goes on about being the Top Student and being the stereotypical Mean Girl. She knew that it was an act. Luz had sharper senses and knew she was acting. Most likely by orders from her parents. She also knows that their names are Willow and Amity.

After Amity left Willow got pissed.

"I can't take it anymore! I'm sick of making Abominations! I'm sick of getting bad grades!" Willow shouted as her eyes shined a bright green.

The plants around Willow seemed to react to her anger, grass and bushes and tree branches writhing in a non-existent breeze. With a final yell, Willow threw her arms out and thick, thorny vines erupted from the ground around her feet.

One vine wrapped around Luz's ankle and ripped her out of her hiding place before she could react. She yelped as she was dumped unceremoniously at the young Witch's feet.

Luz instinctively readied her sword and a Water Blast as she was confronted by Willow's eyes.

Those eyes abruptly returned to normal and the vine released Luz as Willow gasped.

"Oh, I'm so sorry! Are you alright?" She dropped to the ground in front of Luz, eyes no longer glowing and wide with concern.

"Yeah I'm alright not the first someone with plant powers caught me by surprise." Luz said as she dusted herself off.

She wasn't even lying about that. Though Luz remembers Conrad from her days in Curdun Cay.

She wonders what he's doing now.

Willow then notices her ears and mentions that she's a Human.

"Yeah I am and a bit more. So what's going between you and the mean girl?" Luz asked.

Despite only having just met her Willow feels like she can trust her.

"Ugh Amity Blight, she always does this since she's the Top Student of the Abomination Track." Willow said.

"And the reason that you're working with mud monsters and not flowers is because the latter has better "opportunities"?" Luz said as she makes air quotes while Willow nods.

"Yeah I just want at least one good grade to show my Dad's but I hate Abominations." Willow said as she tears up.

Luz's POV

Man poor Willow I know that she doesn't want to disappoint her dads but does it have to come at the cost of her happiness.

Maybe I could help Willow Cheat and rub it in Amity girls face then Willow would owe me one

Or

I can Convince Willow to change Classes to the one that she wants and needs

What should I do?

Normal POV

Making her choice Luz spoke.

"Hey maybe you should talk to your Principal about switching Classes and between the both of you. Maybe you could convince your dads that this is what you want and need." Luz said as she places her hand on Willow's shoulder.

Willow dried her tears and thought for a minute before sighing.

"You're right miss human I hate Abominations and I love Plants the choice should have obvious. I need to speak to Principal Bump." Willow said.

"Oh by the way I'm Luz Noceda." Luz said as she holds out her hand.

"I'm Willow Park and thank you Luz." Willow said as she shakes Luz's hand.

Then a scream was heard. Luz got ready to fight but Willow got worried before shaking her head.

"Hey Luz it's just the warning screams meaning it's time for class." Willow said.

"Alright then let's go see the principal um Bump right?" Luz said as Willow nods.

Principal's office

Principal Hieronymus Bump was having a good but boring day on Hexside. No new blood feuds were made, the Grudgby field was ready for the new season, no interesting magic was being made, and the Detention pit was full. All in all a very boring day. Oh and his Palisman Frewin received a new coat of lacquer.

Principal Bump is presumably an older man, judging from the wrinkles surrounding his upper lip, with light-beige skin. He has long black hair, brown eyes but with his left eye sewn shut, and a scar runs down from his upper right scalp. Most of the time, his upper face is obscured by his Palisman, an imp named Frewin. He also has the Abomination Coven sigil on his right forearm.

Bump wears a traditional academic dress consisting of a long black gown with a gold yoke, a black cape, gold trim at the sleeves and cape hem, plus a blue stole draped over his shoulders and black pointed shoes. He also has an orchid abomination coven sigil on the inside of his right wrist. Frewin, the Palisman on his head, covers half of his face, giving him the appearance of being consumed by said Palisman. With Frewin on him, Bump has Frewin's eyes, which appear teal with bright yellow sclera.

All was quiet until there was a knock on his door. That usually meant that someone was in trouble.

"Come in." Bump said.

The door opened to reveal Miss Park and a visitor.

He wondered what Miss Park needed. He then noticed the ears of the other person.

They were round signifying that she is a human.

"Ah Miss Park may I help you?" Bump asked.

"Yes I'd like to transfer to the Plant Track. I know that Abominations has more opportunities but I fee- no I Need to go to the Plant Track." Willow said.

"I see well I can say that… it's about Titan Damned Time!" Bump said.

This perplexes both Willow and Luz.

"What did you think I wouldn't know about the few times you used Plant Magic along with how good you are in that particular branch of Magic. Hel I've had to hold back Professor Leifstrum from mauling your fathers for putting you into a Track that was ill suited for you." Bump said.

"Oh thank you Principal Bump." Willow said with Joy in her voice.

"Now, now before anything else we need to test and yes this is obligatory." Bump said.

"Um what can I use?" Willow said.

It was then that Luz Spoke.

"Um I have this thing. I think there's a seed in there." Luz said as she shows them the slime ball.

"Ooo a Briar seed pod this is perfect." Willow said.

Now Miss why don't show… um. Bump said as he realized he never got Luz's name.

"Luz Noceda, She/Her." Luz said as she gave her pronouns.

"Right, thank you. Why don't you show Miss Noceda Around our lovely school Miss Park. I'll make your Abomination's Professor know that you're excused for the day." Bump said as Willow nods.

"Yes of course, Principal Bump." Willow said.

"Thank you Principal Bump." Luz said.

"Of course and Welcome to Hexside School of Witchcraft and Demonics." Bump said with a smile as he gives Luz a Visitors pass.

After Miss Noceda said her thanks and left with Miss Park he let out a breath he didn't even know he was holding.

He frowned as he thought about the human. The Human herself wasn't bad. But Frewin could sense something from her.

According to him it was as if two sides were currently fighting for control of her.

What caught Bump's eye however were the human's eyes. Rather than the bright eyed Witchling that were awaiting their first Magic lessons he saw a harden warrior and a charismatic rebel with a healthy amount of suspicion.

This Luz Noceda didn't trust the Coven System. Perhaps she was failed by the Humans and either Rebelled herself, led one or joined a Rebellion.

Well he didn't care if Luz wanted to tell him. She would in her own time. For now he needed to find a way to get rid of that blasted Crystal.

Bump opened a drawer to reveal a Blast Core.

With Luz and Willow

Luz was looking around school along with her new friend. Willow was telling about the school itself as she decides to show Luz the nine main classes along with the baby class.

"Ok first things first Luz we should go see the baby class." Willow said.

"What for?" Luz asked.

"If you want to know how the classes work we need to start at the beginning." Willow said.

"Fair enough, lead the way Willow." Luz said.

Baby Class

"This is the baby class led by Mx. Canri. They lead the Witchlets into learning the most basic of spells along with the most basic education." Willow said.

Mx. Canri is a Witch with Black hair and four red eyes. She wears a red dress with white stripes and a pair of loafers.

"Indeed Miss Park. May I ask who this is?" Canri said.

"I'm Luz Noceda it's nice to meet you." Luz said.

"Likewise and you're just in time Miss Noceda I was just to teach them the Light Spell." Canri said.

They soon began corralling the Witchlets as They Demonstrate how to do the Light spell.

Soon the Witchlets were trying to do the spell. This brought Willow back at her time in the baby class.

Luz on the other hand wanted to try something.

"Excuse me Mx. Canri would you mind if I used some of your chalk?" Luz asked.

Thankfully they nodded. With permission gained Luz drew the Light Glyph on the board.

"Ok let's see if this works?" Luz said as she touched the board where several balls of light appeared.

The Witchlets were amazed. Willow and Mx. Canri on the other hand were shocked.

"But how you're a human?" Canri said shocked at what she just witnessed.

"I know I don't have a Bile sack like other Witches and I can only do magic via these Glyphs. Although granted I only have the one Glyph." Luz said.

"Still that's amazing Luz." Willow said.

"Well that was still an amazing show of magic Miss Noceda. Oh I hope it won't be too much but could you draw the Glyph once more." Canri said.

Luz does so and after the Witchlets say thank you to Luz both she and Willow left for the next class. The Construction Class.

Construction Class

The Construction Class is filled with many muscle bound students with tool belts around their waists. All of them ready for the rigors of Construction Magic.

"This is the Construction Class this where everyone who choses this class learns Construction magic. They are led by Professor Strongarm." Willow said.

"We're also one of the stronger Covens in the isles. I'm Sandome Strongarm." Prof. Strongarm said.

Sandome is a tall Demon with red skin, purple eyes and a tail he is seen wearing typical Blacksmith attire with a Construction helmet on his head.

"Willow since you're here and not in that Hack's class I assume that you got your head screwed on straight." Sandome said.

"Yes I did Uncle." Willow said with a chuckle.

"Good you're good for Plants and not mud monsters or buildings." Sandome said.

He then took a look at Luz.

"Ah I see that the Magic Human is here. Got any more of those Glyph things?" Sandome said.

"Nah I only got the one." Luz said.

"Fair enough kiddo I suggest you two clear out today we're learning about demolition." Sandome said as Willow and Luz hightailed out of there.

As they left the class an explosion was heard.

"Huh I guess he meant it… so your uncle is a teacher." Luz said.

"Titanfather and Uncle but yeah he was actually the one who introduced Dad to Papa." Willow Said.

"Cool are you adopted or a Magic Potion Baby?" Luz asked.

Willow at first was confused but then remembered what her dads told her about the Human Realm.

"It's the latter Luz and is it true that some people in the Human Realm wouldn't approve of my Dad's relationship." Willow asked.

"Yeah sadly it's the case. Hell sometimes people give me hell for it for being Bisexual." Luz said.

"Bisexual wait you have words for that? We just say what we like and don't like and then move on." Willow said.

"Damn this place is getting more and more awesome by the minute. Oh if you don't mind me asking who do you like?" Luz said with smile.

"As in general or as in Like Like?" Willow asked.

"The latter." Luz said.

"Well to be honest Luz I like everyone. If they like girls, I'll like it. If they like boys, I'll like it. Those in between, I like it. Those who were of one gender to another. Well you get the idea." Willow said.

"Well to use my human words I would put you as Pansexual." Luz said.

"Wouldn't Potsexual make more sense?" Willow said.

Luz chuckled for a bit only to see that Willow wasn't chuckling.

"Oh you were serious." Luz said.

"Anyway on to the… oh Titan Damnit Potion Class." Willow said as she groans.

Potion Class

Soon the both of them arrived at the Potions Class. Willow explained that this class was taught by Professor Selena Bloodworth.

She was a Witch with Avian Demon ancestry and she was wearing some clothes but what caught her was the Lab coat she had on. Since it resembles a professional grade lab coat from the human realm.

Selena was nice and a good teacher but then she saw her.

The Witchling has a slender figure with light skin, grayish-blue eyes, and mid-back length red-violet hair tied back in a bun. Like most witches on the Boiling Isles, she has pointy ears. She also has an extra third eye on her forehead.

She wears a dark gray tunic with a dark gray cowl. She wears dark gray, heeled boots with a light gray top. As part of the potions track, her sleeves and leggings are yellow.

She can now see why Willow hates her she had a classic popular bitch look on her. It would a suckers bet that she insults Willow.

"Huh I guess Half-a-Witch Willow managed to get a human for nerd friend." Bosha said as she mocked Willow.

Willow tightens her hand into a fist while Luz placed a hand on her shoulder which calmed her down.

"I'm just here showing Luz around and your Class was the next in line Boscha." Willow said.

"Whatever Half-a-Witch." Boscha said.

Willow's eyes started to glow only for Luz to grasp her shoulder once more.

"Willow its ok she isn't worth it." Luz said.

Willow takes a deep breath and thanks Selena for showing them their class.

Once they left the headed towards the next Class.

Which was the Abominations Class.

"Oh Titan damn it. This is not my day." Willow said.

"Don't worry Willow by the end of the day this will only be a thing of the past." Luz said reassuring her new friend.

"You're right Luz." Willow said with a small smile.

Willow takes a deep breath.

"Ok let's get this over with." Willow said.

Abominations Class

The two of them entered the room as Amity was just about to demonstrate her Abomination.

"Oh Miss Park you're late." Professor Hermonculus said.

Professor Hermonculus is a short, stubby humanoid creature with pointed ears, a round beak-like mouth, with two fangs on the top row of his teeth, and two claws on each foot. He has green, chin-length hair with a large bald spot on the top of his head. He has small slanted eyes, inward-facing green eyebrows, and a small green beard, along with defined cheekbones.

"Actually sir I'll be tested to change to the Plant Track in the afternoon. I thought Principal Bump had told you already." Willow said.

Hermonculus growled a bit.

"I see." Hermonculus said as he checked his scroll.

He then looks at Luz.

"Who is this?" Hermonculus said pointing at Luz.

"Luz Noceda Professor she's showing me around by Principal Bump's Orders." Luz said.

"I see very well and just in time too you're about to see our star student in action. Miss Blight if you will." Hermonculus said.

"Of course Professor, Abomination Rise!" Amity said as a Purple mud monster rose from her cauldron.

Luz whistles as she was impressed by her control.

"That's some impressive control. You got there." Luz said.

Amity had some pink dust her face.

"Thank you Human." Amity said.

"We should get going Luz." Willow said not wanting to be here.

"Oh sure Willow. Thank your time Professor Hermonculus." Luz said as the both of them left.

"Huh a polite one." Hermonculus said.

"Yeah…" Amity said as goes back to her seat where opens her scroll and looks at a picture.

Said picture was of Luz's graffiti.

With the girls

"Ok then, we're going to one more class for now since Lunch is coming up." Willow said.

"Which Class is that?" Luz asked.

"Oracle Class." Willow said.

"Huh neat maybe I'll get my future told." Luz said.

"Maybe, though I'd take with a grain of Dark Salt if I were you." Willow said.

"Isn't that the default stance with Oracles?" Luz said.

"Fair enough." Willow said as they entered the Classroom.

Oracle Class

When the both of them entered they found the classroom empty.

"Huh where is everyone?" Willow said.

"We sent them home early." A voice that sounded like two voices said.

The girls then saw the source of the Voices. It was a two headed bird demon with Black feathers on their heads. They wear dark navy blue robes, they hold a staff with a book on it and they also have eyepatch in one of their eyes while their blue eye weren't covered. The left head had an eyepatch on the left eye. While the right head had a patch on the right eye.

"Oh Mr. and Mr. Fateweaver." Willow said.

"We knew that you were coming here Luz." The left head said.

"We are here to tell you your future." The right head said.

"So that you may help the Isles in its hour of need." The two heads said at the same time.

"Whoa is that why you sent them home early?" Luz asked as the two heads nod.

"For our Oracle magic to work we must see your past." The left head said as it lifts the eyepatch to reveal a golden eye.

"In order to show your future." The right head asked.

"Do we have your permission?" Both heads said at the same time.

Luz nods.

"Alright, go on brother." The right head said.

The left head made a spell circle as his golden eye shines and in a monotone voice he spoke.

"I see a peaceful life, a loving mother, a proud father." The left head said.

"I knew that to be true." Luz said.

"I see a bright flash, the fall of both you and your father, your awakening and your father's passing." The left head said.

"That was the RFI and My Papi's death." Luz said in a sad tone.

Willow placed a hand on her shoulder.

"I see you controlling water, being bound to stone and lead away to your doom." The Left head said.

"That was the pool incident, Curdun Cay and the Convoy." Luz said.

"I see your Savior, an Owl and the end of a Tyrant." The Left head said.

"Delsin, Eda and the Fall of Augustine." Luz said.

"I see your prison reduced to rubble, a Heroes triumph and a reunion." The left head said.

"That was Curdun Cay's destruction, the presidential apology and coming back to Mami." Luz said.

Then the left head stood silent.

The right head placed the eyepatch to its original position.

Upon doing that the left head woke up.

"Ok with that done are you ready brother?" The Left head said.

"I am brother." The right head said.

Like with the left head the right one made a spell circle moved the eye patch to reveal a green eye.

He then spoke in the same monotone voice.

"I see you wearing our uniform with multiple colors on you selves and pants." The right head said.

"Huh that can't be real." Willow said as she shakes her head.

"I see a fight between you and a coven head's apprentice." The right head said.

"Whoa." Luz said.

"I see you and your mother coming to an understanding and the coming of a birth." The right head said.

"A birth?" Luz said worried about the future.

Oh don't get her wrong she wants kids but not as she is now.

Maybe in her late 20's or early 30's.

"I fight of good vs evil during the fear bringer's night." The right head said.

"A fight besides Grom?" Willow said getting scared.

"The hell's Grom?" Luz asked.

"I see the evil corrupting the usurper. The right head said.

"A Usurper in the Isles?" Willow said.

"I see a rebuilt Empire and within it the seconding coming of the Lighting Saint." The right head said.

"The Lighting Saint, does he mean Saint McGrath?" Luz said.

The right head went silent as the left side does the same.

"This all I see I am sorry we are old very old." The right head said.

"It's alright and thank you for telling me." Luz said.

"Here take this." The left said as she was given a book.

With that they left the class at the sound of the lunch scream.

Hallway

Luz and Willow walked out of the class and towards the cafeteria.

They didn't talk but they knew they needed to talk about the prophecy.

However Luz decides to take her mind off of it by looking at the Book she was given.

Only for her mind to go right back to the prophecy as she sees the title of the book.
