Disclaimer: wall of text

So, we reach the end of the line, in a way.

Cutting it short, I do intend on writing a sequel to this story, however not in the traditional sense. Instead, I would want it to be a collection of one-shots retelling the five years without a fixed storyline, since that would make things more interesting and flexible. But either way, that won't be the focus of my work from now on, instead I want to focus on Painting the Streets Red and Shadow Lady, both of it are kinda left to rot and I really need to sort them out. You can easily find these stories by clicking on my profile.

However, that doesn't mean that Butcher is also gonna be abandoned, I will publish numerous one-shorts throughout the next months, just don't expect them to have the same priority that I was giving it now. And yes, it is gonna be published in a different story, because it will be a different tone and objective. But either way it won't be hard to find it.

And now, I'd like to write a short open latter regarding everything involving this story. I already read some fanfictions in like 2018 in Wattpad, really shitty ones like Percabeth in high school (not that the genre itself is bad, just the ones I read) but from then to 2022 fanfics weren't in my head, until I got out of high school abruptly and had a lot of free time. I'm probably the only person to read Trials of Apollo in its entirety, which is why I included it here. But anyway, I first dived into the world of PJO fanfics, exploring old stories and eventually finding the wonder that is Pertemis.

I'm not the most diehard Pertemis fan, I will admit that. But I like to write it a lot, and it has been incredibly fun to do so. My writing was atrocious early on, only now I really consider it good – mostly because other people have complimented it for me, just don't mention chapter 23. At this day and age, I barely read PJO fanfics, but I still want to write them. I had plans for a sequel to Butcher since February, but the original plan was for Percy to become a god, and I actually wrote the entire epilogue of him being late to a council meeting because he hasn't learned how to teleport/flash to places yet. But I preferred the mortal approach for a variety of reasons.

When I first started writing, I had just read "As the Ichor Flows" which is a magnificent fic that makes me sad that it was abandoned. In it, it has a lot of bloodbending and a dark tone, which I tried to do early on. But honestly, I kinda dropped it, you probably noticed it too. I'm not necessarily unhappy with it, I don't think making a story edgy is necessary, in the sequel I want to explore Percy's dives into darkness better than just him being angry at everything and borderline psychopath. The name of the story was taken from the song "My Demons" from Tears for Fears, if you read the lyrics, you will know why.

And now, now I can only thank all of you guys for enduring the pain that was reading the first chapters, I don't know exactly what I'll focus on now, because my uni term is ending soon and I have to get the necessary grades. A lot has happened since I started writing this story, I cut my hair (which was very long), visited my girlfriend, got into university, broke up, and now I'm here, writing this at 2:30 in the morning (although this will be published much later after I have a night of sleep). Again, I can only thank all of you, especially the Pertemis Discord, love you guys, and to some extent the Emerald Library as well. AND YES, I HAVE A DISCORD SERVER NOW IF YOU WANT TO JOIN, but be warned, it's still very unfinished, so if you do join have that in mind before you immediately leave. I think this is all, thank you so much to everyone who has left a review, fav, kudos or comment depending on where you're reading this, to everyone who has complimented me, who has criticized me, who has talked about my poor grammar, I can only thank you for being here for so much time and now getting to read this.

As of now, I believe I will focus on both Shadowl Lady and Painting the Streets Red as I have previously mentioned, but I also want to write a Harry Potter fanfiction in the future. Thoughts always will be welcome.

And to InsaneMakaioshin: I don't know about that one, especially because I'm Brazilian and I genuinely do not see the Celtic inheritance in folklore here and either way I don't know if that would be the case

To the other guy who wrote an essay about how Brighton is shit: you're overthinking it bro
