AU Series: Dragon Ball Z / Super. Chapter: Future Trunks, Part 1: The Wish.

Trunks... had lost... everyone. All his friends... His entire family... all he had left was his mother... but she died this morning. Most of the world had been destroyed, thanks to the Androids.

Trunks was desperate, and used his mother's time machine. Not to save Goku... but to meet the Dragon. Not even the one on Earth, but the Namekian one.

He travelled back to the height of the Namekian Empire, 10s of thousands of years ago. Before the storm that devastated their world... and when the Dragon Balls were simply waiting for others to find them.

The clouds trembled into a black mass of thunder and lightning, as a massive dragon, the size of a small town, manifested in the Sky.

"Speak your wish." The Eternal Dragon demanded.

Trunks gulped, but steeled his nerves. "I wish my mother's time machine could travel through history, without creating pocket dimensions. With a complete database of all reality."

The Dragon's eyes glowed red. The Time Capsule was engulfed by light, but soon returned to normal. "It is done. 6 wishes left."

Trunks gaped in shock. This dragon could grant SEVEN wishes!!! He blanched for a moment. Then his mind screamed, "What the hell!"

"I wish I was immortal!!!" Trunks practically cheered.

The dragon rolled his eyes. "That is beyond my power. I can enchant existing objects, or bestow knowledge, but giving super powers is outside my reach."

So this dragon might grant more wishes... but he was also far more limited.

"Can you bring out latent potential?" Trunks asked.

The Dragon nodded. "I can create a one time use scroll, which can break your limiter. That will let you reach your full potential, and let you continue to grow infinitely. It will also make you immortal."

Trunks smiled. "I wish for that."

The dragons eyes glowed, and trunks took the magic scroll that was floating in front of him. Opening it... there were thousands of seemingly random symbols... and trunks had no idea how to use the thing.

"Errrrrr mind teaching me how scrolls work?" Trunks blushed.

The Dragon actually snickered. But his eyes glowed.

Trunks gasped as he suddenly knew not only how to use scrolls, but how to make them at Grand Master levels... all spells in the universe, he knew how to make them all as scrolls... even make more advanced scrolls, in the form of cards with spells on them...

And Trunks, saw a chance to do so much good. "I wish everyone in the universe had this knowledge!!!"

The Dragon blinked in surprise. Not used to unselfish wishes. Then... he smiled, "Unfortunately that, too, is beyond my power. But I can give the knowledge to all Scroll crafters, and those even vaguely interested in learning the trade."

Trunks sighed, he supposed that was better then nothing. He thought on it a bit "Could you also teach as many people as possible, on all inhabited worlds. Even if their world is unaware of scrolls."

The Dragon smiled, "I can bestow the knowledge to a million individuals, On every world. just can't push it to more then that."

"Then that's my wish."

The Dragon's eyes glowed red... and nothing appeared to happen. Trunks would just have to trust the dragon did as promised.

"Three wishes left," The Dragon informed. Trunks would have to start thinking more specifically about what he wanted.

Thinking on it a moment, Trunks decided to help everyone even more... and maybe make himself a bit less lonely.

"I wish for a gem, that when broken," knowing about those due to his knowledge of scrolls. Actually making this would count as a 'Legendary' artifact, and was beyond the teen to make himself. "Will unleash a spell to alter all sapient races. Giving them a Saiyan's ability to go super, manipulate ki, train anywhere, have power boost if they survive injuries, along with aging like we do.

"So like, they start small, then go through a massive growth spurt at 15. At which point they start aging by Galactic Standard Years, staying in their prime longer, and not degrading until their last 7% of their life. But still have different lifespans... they just age by Galactic Standard now, even if they mature at different rates."

The Dragon chuckled, "The Fates are going to hate you. but I can do that." His eyes glowed again, and a gem appeared in front of Trunks.

Taking it, Trunks quickly smashed it on the ground, unleashing the spell. He felt no different, but he wouldn't would he... Then, embarrassingly, he remember the scroll that would make him more powerful. Pulsing his ki into the scroll, he gasped as he finally felt himself change. The scroll burned away, and golden light enveloped the boy.

His power multiplied by billions. He could destroy the whole universe if he wanted, yet had perfect control of this strength. He knew he could even amplify this further. Transforming all the way to Super Saiyan 4. Divine ki coursed through him, which is what made him immortal.

Trunks stood tall, feeling amazing.

"I'm waiting," the Dragon curled his tail, clearly looking bored.

"S-sorry," Trunks blushed. "I wish... my Sword was unbreakable, while vastly increasing the wielder's power, along with doubling as a magical focus."

The dragons eyes glowed, as did Trunks sword. Until the light dimmed. Trunks thought hard on his last wish. "I wish to be an even greater inventor then my mother."

The Dragon smiled widely, "Now THAT I can do." and as his eyes grew red, one final time... the boy's mind filled with scientific, mechanical, and even magical casts.

Once Trunks' wishes were granted. The Dragon turned into light, and split off into 7 different directions. With the Sky, soon there after, turning back to a pleasant blue.

From there, Trunks got to work... until he realized all the changes he made were to this universe... and not his own. At which point he started screaming obscenities.
