Chapter 6
…
August – Age 764 – Earth
As the mountain-range around them shook, just a few miles away, several of the observing fighters watched from the safety of a canyon where they couldn't be seen.
"Does anyone else feel that intense power growing? His energy is getting close to the Goku look-a-like," the bald monk Krillin stated boldly as the spikey haired warrior scoffed in response.
He took a step back as he ground his teeth, "We need to get further away, that power is Freeza's Father…" Vegeta started his retreat by floating up and backwards, "And he's transforming…"
They all gasped a bit, following his lead in retreating as the green Namekian warrior Piccolo scowled, backing away as well while the ground beneath their feet started to shake. Bulma tripped over rock and nearly face-planted into the dirt but, caught herself on Vegeta's floating hand.
"T-Thank y-" just when she thought she was seeing a different side of the man, he pulled her up with an annoyed glance.
"If you can't keep up then you shouldn't have come, woman," he raised her to her feet and slowly floated away, refraining from blasting off less they be noticed by the conflict.
"How rude! Jerk!" She shouted as Yamcha just placed a hand on her back and guided her towards the path that led further away from the battlefield.
…
Gohan slipped his feet into a fighting stance as he watched King Cold's armor shatter much like Freeza's first did on Namek; he shrank down two feet and was now about as tall as Gohan but, he was identical to Freeza's final form, save for an altered color scheme, a bright flash of light exploded as he completed his transformation in an dome of pressured Ki.
Kara floated up a few feet and retreated until she stood on the high ground less than a quarter mile away, looking down from a large stone structure she stood atop, her arms crossed.
"In my timeline, you were never given the chance to transform, this ought to be fun to fight someone who might actually challenge me!" Gohan taunted him as the smoke cleared, paper-white reptilian skin with a long tail and with a turquoise color, his upper body was far buffer than Freeza's petite frame.
Cold dusted himself off, the dirt and dust brought up from the transformation settled and he stepped through to face Gohan, standing ten or twenty feet apart now, "I see, time travelers, so you've altered events by letting this happen, that will be a crucial mistake," his tail slapped the ground as his son's did only, his was thicker and cracked the stone he stood on with it, "Time travelers don't belong in my Galaxy; Do you think you are the first species to attempt this method of stopping my eternal reign over the cosmos?" He spoke as though he'd dealt with the phenomenon before but, his transformation didn't seem very impressive and didn't scare Gohan at all, this new form was still weaker than him by a large margin.
"By the way your wording it, I guess not…"
Cold nearly popped a blood vessel while Freeza was forced to stand on the sidelines and watch, flying upwards and equally distancing himself like Kara did; Cold flexed his power as a bright-purple aura shrouded him and sent shockwaves out around his body, pumping even more power through his veins.
Gohan held his mechanical his arm over his eyes to block the glare of his flashing Ki energy, reading the power level of his opponent with Bulma's new scanner, he smirked, "I guess I shouldn't let myself by out shinned, If he thinks he has a chance this'll drag out too long," he decided to flex his own muscles, pumping them with Ki as a golden energy surged around his body, a glowing hue lining his every feature and his hair flowed as sparks of golden lightning surrounded him.
King Cold gasped as his power dispersed as the winds from just his charging power overwhelmed his own aura completely, "No… NO, this isn't possible! Where is this incomprehensible power coming from?!" He dug his feet into the stone and held on against the hurricane force winds that formed around Gohan's body, a beam of golden light shot into the sky exploding outward in an omnidirectional shockwave.
Krillin, Gohan, Chiatzou, Tien, Bulma, and Yamcha watched from below cover as the winds and shockwaves hit and pushed them back a bit; Piccolo and Vegeta stood confidently watched the fight as the bursts of energy didn't affect them from that distance.
The King's magenta aura was entirely overwhelmed by Gohan's cyclone of golden power, nearly knocking Freeza off his feet but, Kara was absolutely fine to stand on her own. Being the closest to the battle, Cold was pushed back by the full might of Gohan's legendary Super Saiyan energy; his muscles were tighter and more defined, his aura shrouding him in even more energy than when Freeza last saw the form used by Goku. He'd spent the last three years perfecting combat with a mechanical arm and utilizing his Super Saiyan form to its fullest, he couldn't ascend on his own like he did against the Androids but, he clearly wouldn't need it now.
"It's impossible, even with my upgrades…" Freeza stammered as he was shocked by the readings his cybernetics were giving him, "He's nearly twice as strong as that golden monkey was on Namek!"
Punching the palm of his hand, his aura exploded around him like an ethereal vortex, with a burst of flaming energy, "Are you ready to get started?" Gohan smirked as Cold took a step back with hesitation.
"I-I'm not afraid of you!" He shouted as he fired a purple beam of Ki from his right palm missing and hitting the ground behind him in a sizable explosion whilst Gohan vanished from sight, too fast for even his senses to pick up, appearing suddenly behind Cold and sending a turning kick into his left side. The alien warlord powered up as he was sent back on his feet, digging through the stone plateau they fought on and stopping his momentum with raw strength. Gohan appeared above preparing a kicking motion as Cold put all of his power into a defensive stance, his arms in a perfect guard protecting his face; the Saiyan used an immense burst of speed to appear below Cold's reach in the blink of an eye, upper cutting his solar-plexus with a powerful shockwave that ruptured and leveled the entire plateau. In an impressive display that truly showed just how much stronger and faster Gohan was than either of them, father or son.
Massive ruptures in the ground sent cracks through the stone outward around them, Freeza's ship was knocked off balance as Cold himself toppled backwards; a few seconds later, he fell to one knee and spat up a trickle of blood, trying to keep his balance.
"That was a warning shot," Gohan huffed as the ground settled and he appeared before Cold not even ten feet away, in a confident stance, "Leave Earth and never return or die here and now, your call," spite his rage, he still wanted to keep the timeline somewhat intact, and seeing now how weak they both were in person, if they ever did return his father could handle him.
"Not a chance!" Cold powered up a thick aura of Ki energy as it wrapped around his body, his muscles bulked up and his shoulders broadened. Spite this, his speed still increased enough to dash at his opponent without being stopped immediately; he slammed his fist into Gohan's chest, keeling him over for a double-palmed spike to his back that slammed him face first into the ground, shattering the plateau completely uprooting thousands of tons in rock and sand.
Freeza and Kara flew in opposite directions to avoid the debris as Cold flew upwards and out of the smoke, he aimed downwards with his palms open for a rapid-fire Ki barrage which sent dozens of purple beams down at Gohan who was still in the center of the explosions. Kara never lost visual on him though, even through the shrouding debris and Ki explosions, she saw that she had nothing to worry about.
Cold couldn't sense power levels so, he wasn't nearly as worried as his son who had the ability to read levels with his cybernetics and noticed how the confidence of the spectator he arrived with never wavered, she didn't seem distressed at all.
"I will wipe you off the face of the planet!" Cold gathered all his energy into the space between his palms and allowed the power to grow substantially by the second; he widened his palms expanding the size of the energy, "No! I'll shred this entire retched planet into dust myself!" the chaotic energy he wielded struck the ground around him, clearing the sand settling below him.
Gohan stood with his golden aura protecting him, he was scuffed but, otherwise unharmed as he glared upwards at Cold, "I forgot what it was like to win a fight, this is refreshing; even after you transformed you're nothing compared to real threats," Gohan shouted with a quick grin.
"Stop running your mouth!" Cold launched the orb of energy at hundreds of times the speed of light, heading straight for Gohan where it would vaporize the entire planet and its surrounding moon, however; Gohan's organic arm stopped the orb before it made contact with anything, holding it out in front of him with a smile.
Gohan slowly shouted as his aura thickened and his power grew even higher; he formed another orb of Ki in his mechanical hand and pulled both orbs into one at his side leaving both Freeza and Cold flabbergasted, "Ka, Me, Ha, Me…" within seconds, the energy launched at him was now his own weapon added to the collection of his own Ki now forming a powerful dense energy core between his palms.
Freeza formed an energy shield around himself and his father with the technology in his cybernetics but, even as both tyrants powered up to their maximum; Gohan opened his palms upwards at them, "HA!" Unleashing a beam of unfathomable energy, capable of wiping away multiple planets and completely vaporizing both invaders at once, the Super Saiyan energy ate through Freeza's shield like acid leaving them to be consumed by the wave.
Gohan huffed as his aura dispersed leaving him in his base Super Saiyan state, taking a breath, he looked over and launched an ordinary beam into Freeza's toppled ship causing an explosion that set it ablaze from within. With business taken care of, the half-Saiyan exhaled letting his hair return to normal and his muscles contracted back to a skinner state.
Kara floated up and landed next to him, "Well, you certainly didn't draw any attention to yourself, it was like we were never here…" she jabbed her thumb over her shoulder as, about a mile away, the group of warriors watched intently on the only two left on the battlefield.
…
"I-Impossible!" Vegeta shouted, "He destroyed Freeza and his Father like it was nothing," he tightened his fist and brought it down on a boulder they observed from behind, splitting it in two.
"Would you calm down?" Tien shouted, "They just saved our lives, let's face it a combined assault of us all on even one of them would have been a disaster…" his three eyes focused in on the mystery saviors, too far to see distinct features, "Whoever they are, they just pulled us out of the casket."
Gohan narrowed his eyes, still in deep thought, "He isn't my father but, something feels incredibly familiar. Like I'm sensing myself but, that can't be right, can it?"
Piccolo scoffed, "It isn't impossible, just improbable; we need to question them to ensure they aren't a threat before anything else."
Gohan scratched the back of his neck, "I'm not sure about you guys but, I saw what my father looked like back on Namek, whoever this person is, he's a Saiyan."
Vegeta turned around and shouted unnecessarily, "Not just a Saiyan but, a Super Saiyan! I encountered him briefly on Namek as well while he fought with Freeza and I know well what it looks like," he turned back and scowled enviously at the man in orange standing in the crater he'd made.
Piccolo scowled as he watched them intently, hearing every word they were saying, through out the entire battle, he just didn't believe it was possible.
…
Gohan stretched his arm and looked around, "We didn't do any significant damage to the planet or area and I could be anyone in an orange jumpsuit…"
"With Super Saiyan powers?" Kara questioned as Gohan huffed, folding his arms, she grabbed his arm and wrapped it with hers, leaning in close to lower her voice, "Listen, we don't have to answer any of their questions, right? We can even lie; all we have to do is tell Goku what he needs to know."
"Right," Gohan said as he looked into her eyes, "They shouldn't see me up close, you go tell them where he's going to land and I'll meet you there."
"You got it," She said as Gohan tried pulling away but, she pulled him back and whispered again, "Don't go off script like that again, and be careful," she placed a hand on his chest as they quickly intertwined lips for a two second kiss.
Gohan charged a white aura, blasting off in the opposite direction leaving Kara behind; she floated up a foot or two and levitated towards them, flying at cruising speeds as she gently landed in front of them with the gleaming 'S' on her chest being the first thing they noticed followed by her gender and the cape. She kicked Freeza in his final form hard enough to send him off the ground, without even trying?
"If any of you want to see Son Goku arrive, he should be here soon enough," She announced as her crimson cape billowed in the wind, "That's where we'll be."
Piccolo and Vegeta appeared behind her, "Wait a minute, we have questions…"
Bulma held Yamcha's shoulders and shouted from behind him, "Yea, like how do you know Goku!?"
She scoffed and flipped her hair over her shoulder, "Well, I mean, I don't know him… I know him by reputation though; and I can tell you he's going to be here in just half an hour."
Kara floated upwards as the sun gleamed off her golden head brace over her forehead that clearly matched her suit as the light silhouetted her, Gohan felt like he was looking at an armored angel with a crimson cape draped by her ankles.
Krillin took a few steps forwards, "Wait!" he shouted, "How do you know if Goku is going to come back if you've never met?"
"Just trust me!" Kara giggled as she floated up into the bright blue sky; knowing how powerful she was, neither Vegeta nor Piccolo wanted to make an attempt to stop her.
"Should we follow her?" Piccolo noted as he folded his arms.
Tien scoffed and walked by them, floating into the air with Chiatzou by his side, "What choice do we have? She obviously knows Goku somehow, so we wait twenty or thirty minutes and head home if it turns out she's full of it."
Krillin levitated into the air with Gohan following suit, "Can't argue with that logic."
…
Eighty-Miles Away – Age 764 – 20 Minutes Later
Kara landed first, followed by Piccolo, Vegeta, Tien, Chiatzou, Krillin, Gohan, and Yamcha carrying Bulma by the arms; several hundred feet away, the man who defeated Freeza and his Father stood passively observing the otherwise unremarkable landscape that went on for miles.
"Is he going to say something or am I going to have to go beat some answers out of him myself?" Vegeta shouted aggressively but, didn't receive an answer from anyone as Kara turned around and approached him.
Piccolo put a hand on the prideful Saiyan's shoulder but, he swatted it away out of spite; the young seven-year-old half-breed was in awe at the suited and caped woman coming to their rescue with her mysterious warrior friend, watching as she approached him from behind.
Gohan looked out and all he could see was the last place he officially trained Trunks, where he took his final test, one he never should have let him take in the first place; brought rapidly out of deep thought, he was slightly startled as Kara put a hand on his shoulder.
"You okay? I know this is where…" She trailed off as Gohan cleared his throat and smiled.
Waving her off, he chuckled, "Don't be silly, I'm fine! You can tell them that he'll be here any minute now."
"Okay," she slid her hand down his shoulder to his own hand, wrapping it with her palm, "You sure you're okay?"
"Positive!" he smiled, he's learned long ago how to fake a smile and get away with it, in a world where everything you love is taken from you, one learns to adapt emotionally.
She nodded and floated back up into the air, crossing back towards the group as Gohan refocused his attention on the landscape and the sky; almost as an envoy, she landed in front of them with a smile, "He says Goku will be here any minute; he just needs to have a word with him before you all go on with your lives."
Tien chuckled, "So, that if that isn't Goku, who is he?"
Kara rubbed the back of her neck, picking up the habit from her lover obviously, "Can't really say… I assure you Goku should be here very soon though."
Piccolo scowled at her, he knew she was lying about something obviously but, said nothing regardless; Vegeta however, scoffed at her proposal, "I think I'll go have a word with this so called 'Super Saiyan' myself then!"
He charged his bright clear aura and flew upwards towards the stationary Saiyan who didn't even register his presence, still staring up at the sky; he didn't make it very far as, even faster than any of them could see, she intercepted Vegeta appearing in front of him instantly.
"He's…" she rolled her eyes, "Otherwise occupied, he needs to speak with Goku and not any of you," she raised her voice for the last half of the sentence to project her voice out at the crowd still on the ground, "I'm afraid you need to wait here."
"Stand aside, woman!" Vegeta shouted as he charged his aura to its maximum capacity, his muscles bulking up a bit, this intimidation tactic was fruitless as he decided to throw a haymaker punch instead, "Fine, take this!"
Gohan only turned his head over his shoulder to look back at the scene after a shockwave erupted from the area the group was standing around; they were all shocked in awe as his fist connected with her face and did absolutely nothing to her.
She reached out and grabbed his wrist, forcing him back as his aura dispersed, it was effortless for her, "I said, he won't be talking to any of you," she chopped him in the chest with her free hand simultaneously letting her grip loosen on his arm as Vegeta was sent down into the ground. Controlling her strength enough to knock him back but, still allowing him to land on his feet, toppling back onto his hands.
She landed in front of them as the seven-year-old Gohan stepped out in front, watching her turn around to leave them again, "Wow, she's like some sort of Supergirl!" Kara glanced back at this smiling, she sauntered back to the group, and knelt in front of the child.
"Supergirl, huh? Interesting name, I like it, what's yours?" Her sweetness did not go unnoticed as the entire squad watched her talk with the only one there that wasn't supposed to be fighting; and noticing how she went from threateningly stronger than the combined efforts of their entire group to conversing happily with a child as though it was nothing.
"I'm Gohan!" he responded enthusiastically.
Kara grinned, looking into the onyx eyes of a boy she knew would grow to become a great warrior, she was a bit ecstatic as if she was seeing her boyfriend's baby pictures in 3D, "I like that name too," she giggled as she turned back around, patting him on the head and floating off her feet, towards the warrior who wouldn't address them.
Kara landed next to her own Gohan, "I feel like I've got vertigo, seeing two yous? Makes my brain hurt…"
He didn't turn to face them but, looked at the ground, "How are they?" he asked nervously, trying not to feel too emotional over seeing his long-gone friends again.
"Other than the one with spikey hair, they're all nice people, I think…" she trailed off, "I only spoke to them briefly but, I have to say, you were awfully cute as a kid."
Gohan chuckled in response, "Vegeta always likes to talk a big game but, right now he's as harmless as a house fly;" Gohan turned around to face her for the first time, "And so, what, I'm not cute anymore? I grew out of it?" he asked coyly as his girlfriend threw herself into his arms dramatically.
"I'm afraid so, I'm leaving you for your seven-year-old counterpart!" she shouted in a whisper as Gohan chuckled in response, holding her by the waist as she let her hair drop and pretended to fawn, "He called me a 'super girl' by the way, how cute!"
Kara giggled as he dropped her but instead of hitting the ground she simply floated into a standing position, giggling as the group stared at them from afar. Piccolo nearly choked on his own saliva at what he was hearing, glancing over at the toddler with them but, none-the-less, keeping the information to himself.
Gohan's prosthetic beeped insipidly, alarming them to the atmospheric disturbance; a sonic boom echoed through the entire hemisphere as a ship moving massively faster than light slowed to safe landing speeds. The pod was built clearly for only one person and was round and spherical in design just like the one Vegeta landed in.
It cut through the sky and clouds as it hit the ground at mach twenty, cutting a massive crater in the ground that broke apart the ground all the way up to Gohan's feet; a blast of sand and wind hit them briefly but, the crater was only inches from where he'd planted himself. He clearly knew exactly where his Father would arrive, more accurately than anyone else could; "That could be anyone but, do you guys feel that?" Krillin nearly shouted.
"It feels exactly like-"
"Dad!" the young boy jumped into the air in a burst of speed, approaching the crater from the opposite side, Goku having landed between himself and the group of former z-fighters. The pod slowly let pressurized steam out of it, slowly opening the hatch as it revealed the pilot in bright red pants, a long sleeved white collared shirt with blue armor, and the same boots he wore on Namek.
He took a step out of the pod and glanced around, noticing his friends and family were all lined up waiting for him around the crater he'd made; his son flew into his arms which, couldn't have made him happier but, something still perplexed him, "Hey buddy! Sorry I couldn't come home sooner!"
The younger half-Saiyan embraced his father tightly, "It's alright," he muttered, "You're here now, that's all that matters!"
"Speaking of which," Goku announced as he and Gohan floated back up to meet the group, "How the heck did all of you know I would land way out here, I sure didn't plan for it…"
Bulma scoffed, "Hello to you too!"
Piccolo approached him silently as he pointed across the crater bounds, pointing at the man in his own orange turtle Gi as well as the tall, almost Amazonian, woman with flowing shoulder length blonde hair standing next to him, "They not only destroyed Freeza and his Father but, knew exactly when and where you would land."
Goku turned around and narrowed his eyes at them, "I mean, the outfit looks familiar but, they don't. If they're the ones that defeated both of them, I should be on my guard."
"No, Dad, they just want to talk," Gohan spoke up, tugging on his father's fancy alien threads, "The blonde one is really nice."
Vegeta tightened his fist, taking a few steps forwards, "They may be strong but, it doesn't matter. What matters is the one wearing your uniform, he turned into a Super Saiyan to beat Freeza's father, Kakarot."
Goku rubbed his chin, "Well, if they protected Earth by beating out enemies for us and just want to talk, why didn't you just talk to them?"
Tien rolled all three of his eyes, folding his arms across his chest again, "They'll only talk to you, the blonde woman won't even let us near the other one."
"Hmmm," Goku thought for a moment or two before exhaling, "Well, I guess my only option is to talk to them!"
Kara could see and hear everything they were saying so, it was coincidentally good that Piccolo kept his mouth shut about what he'd heard thus far; he needed more information before coming to any solid conclusions.
Goku patted Gohan's shoulder and sighed, "Alright, I'll go see what's up, you guys stay here; watch Gohan for me," he said as he floated slowly off the ground.
"So, basically what we've been doing this entire time?"
"Exactly," Goku shouted as he flew over the crater and landed next to the orange Gi wearing fighter sporting a mechanical left arm which is the first thing he noticed as he landed behind them, "I hear someone needs to talk to me…"
Gohan took a deep breath in before exhaling and turning around; Goku was never the sharpest tool in the shed but, he recognized the features of his face and coupled with the uniform couldn't mistake it.
"Are you… me?"
Gohan chuckled light heartedly, "I forgot how crazy you could be," he approached and held his hand out, "I don't have a lot of time but, you need to believe what I'm about to tell you."
"You're totally me, aren't you?"
Gohan rolled his eyes, "Listen, I'm not you from the future, I'm your son from the future…"
Goku nearly shouted, "From the future?!" Before he could register it, Kara was behind him, gently covering his mouth in a feat of speed.
She loosened her grip and smiled, "I'm going to let you go now, this is sensitive information, so you need to stay quiet until we leave, got it?"
Goku nodded as she uncovered his mouth and walked casually back by Gohan's side, "I'm the boy that's standing over there only I'm from Age 783; almost twenty years from now."
He was never one to understand the science behind things like this but, he knew what he was hearing and he could feel the intentions of the people talking to him as pure; so, he put on a serious face and begun a less casual conversation, "You look like you've seen better days, and I'm guessing you wouldn't come back here just to visit…"
"You're right," Kara answered, "In two years and six months you are going to suffer from a heart virus that takes your life; six months after that… they appear."
"We never saw it coming," Gohan cleared his throat as Goku politely listened to his tale, "It was Piccolo who reached out to us first, he was alone and cornered, he didn't make it out alive; Vegeta refused to cooperate and then it was just us five: Tien, Yamcha, Krillin, Chiatzou and I," He looked away, staring at the ground almost seeing the bodies of his friends lit ablaze by uncontrollable explosions, "I was the only one left alive."
"W-Who does this? Who's responsible?" Goku responded calmly, getting visibly angrier.
"Does the name Dr. Gero ring any bells, for you?" His son folded his arm over his mechanical one as Goku tapped his chin and looked up at the sky.
"Hmmm," he mumbled, "Sounds familiar..."
Shaking his head, Gohan took a step closer, "He was the weapons expert and head scientist of the Red Ribbon Army... the one you destroyed by yourself?"
Goku slapped his palm, "Oh, now I remember, so he's the one who creates these monsters?"
"Yes, I've trained twenty-years and I'm still no match for them, even as a Super Saiyan..." Gohan rubbed the back of his neck sheepishly.
Goku snapped his fingers and chuckled, "Well, since I must've died before telling you, there's a secret training sanctuary on Kami's Lookout; it's dangerous but, if you do it right, you'll get a whole year of training done in just one day!"
"What?!" Gohan shouted, "Why didn't we use it against the Saiyan's... or before Namek! Or after Namek!"
Goku chuckled and shrugged his shoulders, slowly growing a slightly more serious expression, "Like you said, I guess none of us saw it coming."
Gohan exhaled in disappointment, noting his father to be exactly how he remembered; he finally pulled from his belt a small bottle, holding two dozen round blue pills, "On May the twelfth, at exactly ten in the morning, two unstoppable forces will emerge on an island nine miles off the coast of South City; they have infinite stamina and are trained fighters with data on the fighting styles of everyone you know on Earth," he tossed the bottle over to his Father who caught it in one hand, "They're cyborgs designed to be the perfect fighters, hand to hand combat is their specialty; those pills wont exist for another ten years but, I'm giving them to you now."
Goku looked down at the bottle, and back up at his son from the future, "And these will cure this heart virus I'm supposed to get?"
"Correct," Kara responded as Goku raised a brow, looking between them two, his expression shifting to a coy one as he noticed their close proximity to one another, "Who are you, though?"
She brushed her golden blonde hair behind her ear and lifted an arm to shake his hand, "Oh, I'm, uhm, you can call me Supergirl…" she looked up at Gohan and winked once for good measure.
"She's a part of the z-fighters in the future, although, it's just us two now," Gohan noted, rubbing his arm nervously, "This isn't the ideal way I wanted to see you again but, I'm glad I did."
"Gohan…" he gained a solemn expression, taking a few steps forwards and looking directly into his son's eyes even though he was just holding him in his arms moments ago, "I'm so sorry that this future you live through is so horrible, and I'm sorry that I'm not there to help you through it…" he put a hand on his son's shoulder, holding the pill bottle in his free hand, "I promise that when you return to your future, it'll be different and I'll be there to take your hand," Goku didn't quite understand how time travel worked, thinking the same thing Bulma did before they started this mission but, he didn't want to make things seem to bleak so, Gohan allowed his Father to believe that he could change his son's future.
"Yea, make sure you follow the instructions on the bottle and train like your lives depend on it," Gohan turned around, facing away from them all as Kara followed, "Because it does…" he muttered as he took off into the atmosphere, hitting the speed of sound and blasting off before anything else could be said.
Kara floated into the air slowly, waving down at them, "Sorry, bye! Stay healthy!" she shouted as she too matched his speed, rocketing off to catch up with him.
Goku waved halfheartedly, still stunned by what he'd just been told, now he needed to tell everyone else somehow, hopefully they'd believe him.
…
Gohan and Kara landed fifty-miles away from the crater where Goku landed, the latter looked around as the former pulled out a capsule and tossed it into the dirt as it exploded revealing their time-machine.
"You rushed out of there pretty quickly," Kara noted as Gohan looked down at his feet, kicking a small rock as he listened to her, "This is your last chance to say anything to him…"
"I told you I don't know him that well, I hardly remember him for the most part; I just know his life will change this timelines history drastically," he tightened his fist at his side, "It was nice to see him again though, even if it was only for a few minutes."
Kara smiled, "See? Feelings aren't scary," she mocked as Gohan chuckled.
"Oh, yea? Supergirl?"
"What?! It has a nice ring to it!"
