From Earth to Star Wars, Part Two

Disclaimer: All characters but Meagan, Sasha and some other minor ones, belong to George Lucas and Disney. We are not receiving any profit off this work of fiction.

AN: Hello again everyone. This chapter moves away from the last ones with Meagan meeting Obi-Wan's dad though it's not too far from her mind to the wedding with Anakin and Padme. This is a lighter chapter with wedding plans and such. The wedding will be next chapter and then things will go darker again with maybe Obi-Wan taking on a rather dangerous mission. Thanks again to all our readers. Enjoy. (We should warn you a little of Disney leaks into this chapter but it's not too bad. LOL!)

Chapter Ninety One,

The trip back to the Temple was quiet and non eventful, giving me plenty of time to think. Meeting Dalton Kain, my father in law, was completely unexpected but I felt glad I met him. He was a good man who obviously loved his son and I didn't want to dishonor him by not following his wishes. Maybe someday I would be able to tell Obi-Wan, though I wondered what the chances of meeting him again were, especially during a war.

We arrived back on Coruscant and while Obi-Wan saw to the disembarkment, he sent me onto the Temple. I reported to Jema about the recovery efforts before she changed the subject.

"Did you tell Obi-Wan?" She asked me quietly.

I shook my head and briefly explained what happened. "I was debating whether to tell him or not but then Dalton asked me not to and felt I needed to honor his wishes."

Jema stared at me for moment or two before speaking. "Well, maybe it's for the best as I doubt you will see him again."

I agreed and shortly I headed to our quarters to get unpacked and settled in before getting Sasha.

"Uncle Anakin said I am in his wedding." Sasha was telling me about everything as we made our way through the temple corridors. "I'm getting a new dress."

Before I could wonder about this, she was already onto the next subject and chattered all the way to our quarters.

"Is Daddy back too?" Sasha asked as we entered our home.

"Yes, but I'm not sure when he'll be here." In order to distract her, she "helped" me with dinner. Obi-Wan arrived home just as we were about to start eating.

"Daddy." Sasha went running as we heard the door slid open, nearly knocking over her glass of milk in the process.

"Hello Sasha." I heard Obi-Wan as I got my husband his dinner.

We had a very enjoyable dinner and afterwards Sasha delighted in showing us what she been learning. It was so wonderful for the three of us to spend such time together.

"Goodnight sweetheart." I tucked her into bed after a couple stories. "I love you."

"Love you too." Sasha mumbled as she was already drifting off to sleep as both Obi-Wan and I kissed her goodnight.

I sighed as Obi-Wan and I left the room, thinking that even if Sasha had a family with the Jedi, it was sad she would never know her real family.

The next few days were busy helping with on planet relief efforts. Though I was finally able to stop by Padme's office to see how wedding plans were proceeding. She updated me on a few items and what her mother and sister were doing on Naboo. She confirmed Sasha and her nieces were flower girls, showing me the pictures of the dresses they ordered which looked like they could be worn again.

"My family is coming in two weeks to finalize plans and we will be going to the dress shop to work on everyone's dresses." She paused before continuing. "Are you going to be here? I can always get Sasha if not."

"I should be here." I told her, hoping my plans wouldn't be changing. "If not, we can make arrangements. Sasha is really looking forward to this."

"Good." Padme suddenly looked nervous and twisted her hands together. "I have wanted to say something and please don't tell Anakin, I want this to be a surprise."

My curiosity immediately spiked upward. "Padme what is it?"

"Shmi will be coming to the wedding, it's my present to Anakin."

My mouth dropped open. Out of everything she could have said, that was not what I expected to hear. Padme looked anxious and I felt I needed to speak. "How?"

"I hired someone to see if she could be freed and or at least be allowed to come to the wedding. However, I learned she was freed and married and we are working on getting transportation for her and her husband but it should come together."

"Anakin hasn't a clue?"

Padme shook his head. "I hope it will be okay. I mean he would be alright with it wouldn't he?"

I nodded. "I know he will be pleased to see her and very grateful she has been freed."

"She and Cliegg, her husband, are looking forward to it." Padme paused, looking nervous. "I've met her before, but I wasn't marrying her son."

I gave her a small smile, suddenly feeling nervous myself. "At least you're not the other women." We laughed at how awful that sounded. "I mean, I helped raise her son."

"We talked a little and she is looking forward to meeting Anakin's Jedi family." Padme smiled at me. "I don't think you have much to worry about."

"Thank you." I hoped she was right but knew Anakin would be very touched. "I don't think you could do anything more for Anakin."

Padme relaxed, changing the subject. "My family and I are thinking of going to our lake house a couple days before so we could all spend some time together." She explained they would rent a few around them as well. "I thought it would be fun to go swimming or onto the boat."

"I think that is a great idea." I agreed with her. "It will give everyone a chance to get to know each other better. Goodness knows Obi-Wan could use a few days off, though I'm not sure the man knows the meaning of a vacation."

Padme and I laughed before we concluded our conversation as she had to attend a Senate meeting and I headed back to the Temple.

The next week passed by as I helped with relief efforts on planet while Obi-Wan did leave for shorter periods of time but thankfully wasn't in any major battles. One day Padme contacted me and we confirmed our plans for a dress fitting and family dinner.

So, Sasha and I went to Padme's home and met her parents, Ruwee and Jobal, her sister Sola and her husband Darred. Her nieces Ryoo and Pooja were older than Sasha but that didn't seem to bother them. After a few minutes of conversation, we took a transport over to the dress shop. Pooja and Sasha liked getting dressed up, but I could tell Ryoo didn't, but they all looked nice together.

"Is there any hope of getting Ahsoka in a dress?" Padme asked as the seamstress took the final lengths on the girls' dresses. "Or Anakin in a suit?"

I laughed a little. "Probably not. The Jedi in attendance will wear dress robes." I caught the slight disappointment on her face and set about to reassure her. "Anakin will look handsome, at least Obi-Wan did at our wedding." She looked a little relieved and we turned our attention back to the girls. "The light periwinkle color is a good choice for them." I said, pleased Sasha wasn't wearing a pink color that would have clashed with her hair.

Padme nodded as Jobal and Sola came up, carrying their dresses. I'd seen a few pictures of the near matching ones they picked out, but this was the first time I'd seen them.

"Those are really pretty." They matched the girls' dresses and they too were nice but not overly formal.

"Good." Padme said with a smile that made my hair nearly stand up on the ends. "Because one of them is yours."

"Padme." I gasped. "You don't have to buy me a dress."

"I thought it would be nice if the ladies of the family are matching somewhat and I'm sending one to Shmi. I want to do this, you took in Anakin when you didn't have to and he might not say it, but he appreciates it very much. Consider the dress my thank you to your family."

I stared at Padme for a few minutes, knowing I couldn't argue and she already sacrificed much for her wedding because of the war, I thought I could give her at least this much. "Thank you."

"Your welcome." She grinned. "Go try it on."

The dress was very pretty and fit overall well. The color was the same as the other dresses but this style was different as they were each made to fit us. As the seamstress marked the length and on one side, Sasha, now in her own clothes, sat beside me.

"Are you getting a dress too?" She asked looking up at me.

"Apparently I am." I smiled down at her. "Did you like your dress?"

"It's pretty and I can twirl in it." She paused before asking. "Are we done yet? I'm hungry."

"There are some snacks in my bag." I told her and she got up to get them. We were taking the girls to a children's play at the opera house for an early afternoon show and eat there. A part of the proceeds were going to aid in relief efforts but I knew Sasha would probably enjoy it.

Once we finished with the dresses, we headed out, making our way across the city. The girls were distracted at seeing the sites and didn't notice where we were going. Though once Ryoo and Pooja saw the signs they were beyond energized.

"You haven't heard of Frozen?" They seemed stunned Sasha hadn't heard of it.

The two were about to tell her when Sola interrupted. "Girls, why don't we let Sasha see for herself?"

The girls reluctantly agreed but none of them would sit still. Once we arrived, I tugged Sasha's cloak around her, hiding her features. The last thing I wanted was a reporter to see her but the place was filled with exciting children and exasperated parents, so I felt safer, but still kept her close to my side, not letting go of her hand till we reached our seats.

"Wow, it's so pretty." Sasha looked at the stage below which resembled a winter wonderland. She was entranced as she had never seen snow before and watched it all with awe as she had not spent much time outside the walls of the Jedi Temple.

The food and drinks we ordered arrived and the show soon started. I was not sure if Sasha would be able to sit for the length of the show, that her attention wouldn't hold, however from the moment it started, every child above two was engaged.

"Look, mummy." Sasha pointed toward the stage as a snowman waddled on and she laughed with delight when he said. "My name is Olaf and I like warm hugs."

By the middle of the show all three children were at the railing, leaning against it, watching with rapt attention, reaching their hands out as fake snow was blown across the house. I enjoyed the show, but had just as much fun watching Sasha laugh and smile. By the end of the show, the children were singing, at least partially, along with the songs, obviously having a great time. This was something Sasha and I would remember for a long time.

Later, as we entered Padme's apartment, we found Ruwee, Darred and Anakin talking over a cup of coffee. "How was the show?"

"Grandpa, it was great." All three girls took delight in telling them about it, while dancing and singing around the room.

Laughing at how the men were going to handle the girls, we went and started dinner. It wasn't much later Obi-Wan and Ahsoka joined us.

"So, Sasha what did you learn today?" Obi-Wan asked as I headed toward the dining room and began to set the table.

Sasha looked up to him, saying seriously. "Love is putting someone else's needs before yours."

Obi-Wan raised an eyebrow, wondering what she was taking about. "Who taught you that?"

"Master Olaf. He says that some people are worth melting for."

"Meagan….." Obi-Wan glanced to me but Sasha answered his unspoken question.

"Olaf is a singing snowman Daddy. He was my favorite." Before my husband could say another word, all three girls were talking to him about the play. I never seen my husband look so clueless as they barely stopped for breath and I began to laugh. Oh if the galaxy could see how the famed Negotiator was brought down by three girls under the age of 8.

Padme came up from behind me, holding a tray in her hands and whispered. "We better not let this get out or his reputation will be ruined."

I couldn't help but laugh even more. Dinner was soon ready. It was a bit loud but enjoyable as it was nice for our families to spend some time together since Anakin and Padme would soon be getting married. I was more than pleased Padme's family was not only taking in Anakin but including us as well. Though as the evening progressed, I couldn't help but wonder if by not telling Obi-Wan about his father, that I was denying my daughter a part of her family.

"If I have to hear Senator Aritha one more time." Padme let the threat go unspoken. We'd been sitting in a committee meeting on relief efforts for the last couple hours and I am still not sure how I managed to reign in my temper with him.

We continued to quietly discuss the Senator's ridiculous objections to supplying aid as we made our way to her office. We finished our notes from the meeting before I looked up to find her looking rather tired.

"Why don't we go back to your apartment and have some drinks?" I asked her, knowing I had time before picking up Sasha.

She thought about it for a moment before agreeing. "Alright."

Padme quickly finished her work and called for her driver. Once we settled onto comfortable couches with a light snack and drinks I brought up the wedding.

"I think everything is under control." She said, taking a long sip. "It's just so surreal sometimes."

"It can seem that way." I agreed before taking a small bite of food. "I'm sorry you are not getting much of a honeymoon."

She sighed softly. "We will have a little time on Naboo. It would be nice to have longer but I understand with the war."

The first of many sacrifices she would make. "Even without the war, there are always missions, their duty to the order. It hasn't been easy but I know I would not be complete without Obi-Wan."

She gazed at me for long moments. "Have you ever regretted it?"

How to answer that question, but yet, even with everything we had gone through, I never once regretted my love for Obi-Wan. "Regretting my love, absolutely not. But I can't deny wishing he was home more or that he could tell me where he was going."

"How do you deal with it?"

"At first I threw myself into work, having something to always occupy my mind. After Sasha was born, caring for a child took up a great deal of time." I took a long sip, gathering my thoughts. "He has promised, once this is over, to take me to a distant deserted beach somewhere."

"Sounds romantic." Padme laughed a little before growing a bit more serious. "Can I ask you something personal?"

"Sure." I had a feeling to what she was about to bring up.

Padme lowered her glass. "I've heard things and wondered if the Force enhances things?"

Padme wasn't naïve but didn't think Obi-Wan would appreciate my sharing too much. Though a giggle escaped before I answered. "I think it does, at least in parts, but I don't have anything to compare it to."

Padme paused as she sipped her drink. "Sola told me they try to be creative so it doesn't become a chore."

I couldn't help but laugh. "We haven't had that particular issue. Even before the war missions would separate us for weeks or more at a time."

"Absence makes the heart grow fonder?" Padme asked a bit slyly.

"Something like that. After being separated for a time, it can be hard not to throw myself at him." I laughed. "Maybe being bonded by the Force helps too."

"Can you actually communicate telepathically?" Padme set down her plate, looking intrigued.

"As long as we aren't separated by too great of a distance. Though we can pick up each other's emotions from a longer distance, I know Obi-Wan has a greater range than I do."

"Is this something I can learn?"

I regarded her for long moments. "You might, you are slightly force sensitive are you not?"

She nodded. "Certainly not enough to become a Jedi but enough where I was able to fool two Jedi that Padme was merely a handmaiden."

"Qui-Gon didn't miss much, so I think that might have annoyed him." I laughed. "Anakin may be able to teach you once you've married or it may grow over time, I know ours has."

Padme leaned forward. "A force bond allows you to read each other's minds?"

"Sort of." I answered honestly. "We do have our private thoughts but I can usually feel his moods." I paused for a moment, wondering how much I should tell her, what she should learn with Anakin, how much she may not be able to. "I can feel his presence, his essence when we are close. It's like we are two halves of a whole, but we still are two distinct individuals. Does this make any sense?"

She nodded. "Since I'm only a little Force sensitive, will I even be able to feel him like that?"

"I don't know." I shrugged slightly, taking a sip of my drink, contemplating it. "I was already learning about the force when we married, so that made it easier. I don't think you could have a complete bond since you're only slightly Force sensitive, but maybe on a lesser level."

She looked thoughtful before asking. "Are you able to use it like foreplay?"

I couldn't help but grin. "Yes, it's fun actually, especially if I know he's in a crowded room."

Padme laughed. "Now that I hope I can learn."

After our laughter died a bit, I spoke. "If you thought hard enough about him, he should be able to sense where your thoughts are."

We spent the next several minutes giggling and talking before the conversation turned serious. "Hang onto those moments when they happen, they have kept me company on nights when I gave up trying to sleep."

"You've never sleep when he's gone?"

"It took time to adjust his being away. After that, if the mission was routine, usually I slept fine but there were some dangerous missions where I didn't sleep much at all. Now, with the war, I rarely sleep more than a few hours when he is in battle."

"Is that why you throw yourself some much into the relief efforts?"

"Partially. If I exhaust myself, I won't be able to think about the danger he is in and sometimes it is because efforts are needed too." I sighed, looking out the window before turning back to her. "I do not mean to scare you but there is a lot of sacrifice in being the wife of a Jedi even without a war. There have been times when I could have picked up my baby and walked away, but when it came down to it, I love my husband and choose to stand by his side."

Padme took a sip of her drink, her gaze thoughtful. "Isn't that what true love is, sacrificing yourself, to be there for them? I knew when we started seeing each other seriously it would require sacrifices on both our parts but I love Anakin and want to be with him."

I set down my glass and reached across to squeeze her hand. "That is a choice you will make every day, but I think we will survive."

She squeezed my hand back before I pulled away. Padme and I had been friends for a while now but knew our friendship would become stronger. After such serious conversation, we talked about lighter things before I left for the Jedi Temple. As I was holding Sasha, reading her a bedtime story, I thought about what I shared with Padme, if I ever regretted my marriage. Gazing down at my nearly sleeping daughter, I knew I never would, even when there were times I wanted to walk away.

AN:

Dee: We are glad you found our story and enjoyed it. We didn't think there were enough of Obi-wan actually enjoying having a family so we decided to create our own. You'll have to wait and see what happens to their family through the rest of the Clone Wars. Thanks again.

MissFlynnie: It's good to hear from you again! We'd been working on this story for a while and there been times when life interfered but we really didn't want to abandon it and felt our readers deserved to read the entire story. It's been quite a ride and there is much more to come. Thanks again. As for TFA, there were a lot of funny quotable lines but that one was the best. We loved the Han/Chewie banter!

Still in a Star Wars mood, so thought to have a Star Wars themed quote from one of our favorite tv shows Reba.

Cheyene: do you really think you are going to scare someone off with a lightsaber?

Van: I will if I use the Force. Hiss, hum, hum

We've also started a Star Wars puzzle, check out our profile page for the picture and updates!
