From Earth to Star Wars, Part Two

Disclaimer: All characters but Meagan, Sasha and some other minor ones, belong to George Lucas and Disney. We are not receiving any profit off this work of fiction.

AN: Well here is another chapter except the war is coming back after a couple more peaceful ones. We are putting in a sequence from the Clone Wars show with the plot to kill/kidnap Palpatine and Obi-Wan going undercover as Harden. There should be a couple chapters on this sequence. This chapter is mostly told from Meagan's point of view to get a different side to it and we have changed it a little to fit our story. Hope you enjoy it! Thanks again to all our readers, any new favorites, we always appreciate it!

On another note, the Alamo drafthouse will be hosting a marathon of the Originals (1997 release) this August in different cities across the country! They are playing where we are, so we have tickets. We are so excited, even buying new Star Wars t-shirts for the occasion!

Chapter Ninety Three,

**Meagan's Point of View**

The month or so after the wedding was busy and I felt so much for Anakin and Padme having to adjust to being married and dealing with the effects of a war. Both Obi-Wan and I were busy with relief efforts and Ventress, Grievous, and Dooku causing much ruckus across many star systems, sending Obi-Wan, Anakin, and Ahsoka everywhere. Soon, the entire Temple was talking about the pirate Hondo who captured Dooku. Everyone held their breath as Obi-Wan and Anakin confirmed that the Count had been captured, but it was then reported Dooku escaped before the Republic could redeem the ransom. We had been so close at ending the war and extremely disappointed that one of the leaders got away.

Through all of this, unfortunately Obi-Wan and I were not spending much time together, making our time on Naboo feel like it was a dream somehow. However, there came a time when both of us were at the Temple and able to catch up.

"Hello honey." I kissed Obi-Wan as he came in late one night from a Council meeting. Sasha was asleep but I wanted to wait up for him. "Are you hungry?"

He shook his head. "Not really but a cup of tea would not go amiss."

I could tell something was bothering him, more so than whatever was going on with the war but knew forcing it out of him never worked. He would tell me in his own time. Sure enough, after he drank the tea and ate a few pieces of fruit I gave him, did he finally explain.

"Cad Bane allowed himself to be captured." Obi-Wan stated without preamble.

"Why?" Was the first question I thought to ask.

"We don't know. Master Yoda says his capture by our troops was too easy, there is something being planned, though we don't know what." Obi-Wan paused for long moments before continuing. "Now that he is in prison, we do have the right to press charges for Sasha's attempted kidnapping."

I held my breath for long moments before speaking. "You don't think it is a good idea?"

He shook his head. "It will bring unnecessary attention to her and Master Windu thinks she will have to testify in court or at least in a judge's chambers." I certainly didn't like the sound of that. "Bane has plenty of other charges that will put him away for a long time, so adding one more won't change his sentence."

I considered this for a moment before agreeing. Putting Sasha through it all again when she had nearly forgotten about it didn't seem right and justice would be done either way. "As long as the other charges will convict him, we can leave Sasha out of it."

"Oh, they will." Obi-Wan assured me and the subject never came up again, but then my husband was sent away from the Temple a few days later so there really wasn't the time.

Meanwhile, I stayed on planet helping coordinate relief plans and sending aid with troops. Though a part of me felt I should be out there helping, it was easier on Sasha for me to be home and we frequently visited Padme in the evenings when she wasn't working late. She didn't say so, but I knew it helped her adjust and it eased the loneliness in all three of us.

One morning, I heard bounty hunter Moralo Eval was captured and sent to the Republic's Central Detention Center. I was glad another bad guy was off the streets, but didn't pay too much attention to it, though when Obi-Wan came home late one night I wished I did.

"You heard about Eval being captured?" He asked as I fed him a very late supper or at least a light snack.

I nodded. "Though I don't know much about it."

"His arrest is not bothering us, it is his claim that he is planning to kidnap and maybe even assassinate the Chancellor."

I stared at my husband in shock for a moment before asking. "How can he plan to kidnap or kill Palpatine from prison?"

"That is what we need to find out and we cannot let this go without trying to stop it."

Of course the Council could not stand by and allow this to happen but I wasn't sure why Obi-Wan was telling me this…..unless he was directly involved. My heart began to beat widely in my chest as I managed to ask. "How are you going to do this?"

Obi-Wan stared back at me, calm and quiet, making me even more nervous as he took my hand, caressing it gently. "We will hire Rako Hardeen, another bounty hunter to 'kill me.' I will assume his identity, be arrested, and sent to prison. Hopefully I can get on Eval's good side to somehow stop or disrupt the plot to take Palpatine."

My mouth opened and closed without words leaving, thousands of thoughts crossing my mind but I could not seem to put any into a tangent thought.

"Meagan?" Obi-Wan squeezed my hand, finally bringing my attention back to focus long moments later.

"What if your cover is blown?" I practically whispered, suddenly fearing for his life. "A bounty hunter would kill you on sight."

"I know." He sighed before continuing on. "I have been under cover before and managed well, this time will be no different."

"How many know about this?" My voice was quiet as I tried to process this new mission.

"The entire Council knows about Eval's plot but Masters Windu and Yoda told no one else of this plan. "

He was about to continue but I interrupted him, knowing where he was going. "But you are telling me, which means I have to pretend you are dead?"

"Yes." He nodded, still holding my hands. "The Masters and I thought it would be best if I informed you and Sasha I didn't die. I couldn't allow you to go through that again." I felt relief, but butterflies turned in my stomach at realizing what that actually meant. "But you can't tell anyone I am really alive. If it got out, it would blow my cover."

"Isn't there some other way to do this?" I couldn't help but ask, still trying to grasp this new mission.

Obi-Wan slowly shook his head. "We think this is the only way that would work. The Chancellor's life is at stake, we cannot do nothing."

I knew it was his duty to do so, but I still didn't like my husband going undercover in a prison because he'd been killed. "I am thankful you told me. You would not have appreciated my reaction if you did not."

Obi-Wan chuckled a little. "We knew you would not accept my death and my cover would be blown before I even had a chance to start."

"Thank you." I leaned over the table to kiss him before asking. "This will be soon then?"

"It should be. We still have to hire Harden and work out some details, but yes, Anakin, Ahsoka, and I will be following a report of a bounty hunter on Coruscant and we are assigned to capture him. I will take a vital suppressor to make sure it appears that I died when Hardeen kills me."

"What a minute? Anakin doesn't know?"

Obi-Wan shook his head. "We need this to be believable. The criminals in prison absolutely have to believe Hardeen killed me to make this work. Anakin needs to believe I am really dead. You can't tell him, at least not until my funeral is over."

"What?" I exclaimed, not believing this. "I can't do this. The other Jedi will give me space, but not Anakin."

"Meagan, you have to, but it will only be for a few days. My life depends upon it."

I did not want to think about the pressure, the stress, the danger he would be under. "Hopefully we can handle it." Suddenly restless, I stood and started to pace around. "It doesn't seem like I have much of a choice, but I still do not like this Obi-Wan."

"Neither do I." He watched me before reaching for me. "Come here love."

I allowed him to pull me down onto his lap. "Promise me you will be safe as you can be."

"I promise. I always try to come home to you." He gently kissed me, his promise at least made me feel a little better.

To say I was a nervous wreck when Obi-Wan left to go "capture the bounty hunter" was no lie. We both closed our bonds as well as Sasha's, thinking that might keep him a little safer, but not being able to feel my husband was enough to set me on edge. I had not realized how dependent I had come to feeling his emotions, relying on his strength, even in everyday things. Thankfully it would be only short term and I knew it was important to Obi-Wan surviving this mission.

After saying goodbye to Sasha, Obi-Wan kissed me one last time, one last long sweet kiss before he left. I watched the door slid shut behind him, knowing I had nothing to do but wait. After Anakin or Ahsoka informed the Masters, I would be next, if not the first.

During the next hour or so, I tried to keep myself busy, even cleaning the refresher, but it was never far from my mind. I had the holonet on and my husband's death was all over it. A hero killed by an enemy, the Negotiator was dead. It made me absolutely sick to my stomach to watch as not being able to feel Obi-Wan was like he really was dead.

By the time Anakin arrived, I was trembling and shaking. "Meagan, I am so sorry, I should…."

"It's alright." I managed as I felt his tears, not sure what to say, how to go forward. I suddenly felt weak.

"Come, sit down." Anakin led me to the couch. "Would you like some tea?"

I shook my head, nearly unable to speak, but squeaked out. "Where is he?"

Anakin stared at me for a moment or two, as if contemplating what to tell me. "I brought him back to the Temple. Masters Yoda and Windu took him." That didn't surprise me as the two masters said they would place my husband in a secure location. Meanwhile, Anakin paused, gazing at me before speaking again. "Where is Sasha?"

Absently I thought of my daughter, who was taking this better than I was, who was taking her part seriously in Daddy's new mission, to not say a word, or at least a lot. "Asleep."

It was quiet for long moments as I stared numbingly at the floor.

"Meagan?" The concern in Anakin's voice brought my attention back to the moment.

"It's just….." I found I couldn't speak past the sudden tears.

He squeezed my hands as tears formed in his eyes. "I know, I can't believe it either. He has survived so much worse for a fall and one blaster shot to kill him."

My body was shaking. I couldn't stop the tears, knowing how much pain Anakin was in, how much pain he was pushing aside for my sake and Obi-Wan wasn't even dead in the first place. But he was still in great danger. This war could still cost my husband his life.

"You need to rest." Anakin said, his attention focused on me. "I can help you sleep."

I shook my head as I stood up. "I will be fine. I guess we will be in touch about a funeral in the next day or so."

He shook his head. "I'm staying here tonight."

I nearly protested but knew I would never be able to talk him out of it. I made my way to bed, not wanting to wake up till next year.

The next couple days passed by slowly and I could only hope my husband was okay. One of the few comforts I could draw from was that Master Windu and Yoda would have told me if something had happened to him. Anakin was around a lot and somehow I managed not to tell him my husband was alive. Thankfully I would tell him after the funeral. Master Yoda spent several hours a day with Sasha so she wouldn't get too far behind in her lessons as taking her to her clan would look odd considering her father was killed just days ago.

So, I stood in front of the prier, knowing my husband was not there but he might as well have been as awful as I felt and how stressful this was. Sasha stood next to me, her small arms wrapped around me and her face, what little showed with her hood, was buried in my clothes. I wrapped an arm around her, hoping to help her through this as I think the seriousness of the situation was finally sinking in.

Anakin was soon at our side, bending down to pick up Sasha, whispering something to her. She nodded before laying her head on his shoulder. Ahsoka stood nearby with some of the other Jedi. Once the service was completed, I was soon greeted by the other guests. Duchess Satine shared her condolences, that we were meeting under such awful circumstances. Mon Mothma and Bail Organa, along with his wife Breha, also expressed their grief. Padme hugged me for a long time and I clung to her, needing it desperately. As Padme went to talk to some others, I glanced around to see Ahsoka kneeling next to Sasha as the two talked quietly.

Just then Bant, Siri, Garen, and Reeft came up. We talked for long moments, Bant obviously upset and I hated to have lied to my husband's oldest friends. But yet, I had to, Obi-Wan's life hanging in the balance if it got out he didn't die.

"Meagan, please let us know if you need anything." Bant hugged me as we made our goodbyes. "You don't have to go through this alone." The others agreed.

"Thank you. I think Sasha and I just need some time right now but maybe later." We shared our grief again before they went to greet the other Jedi.

I glanced around the room, catching Master Windu's eye. I was more than ready to see my husband again, if only for a few minutes before he transformed into Hardeen. Just then, Anakin came up, putting a hand on my arm.

"Do you and Sasha want to come to my place? Padme and I would love to have you and maybe it would be better for you." Anakin asked quietly.

Though I was pleased by his offer, I didn't think it was such a good idea, but I only said. "Anakin can you come with me, alone?"

Anakin looked puzzled but only nodded. "Alright, but give me a moment."

I gathered Sasha and we headed out of the room and into the hall, gazing out into the growing dusk of the Coruscant night sky. Once Anakin joined us, I turned and started down the walkway. After a few moments, he spoke.

"Meagan, where are we going? What is going on?"

I sighed, still following the directions Master Windu given me earlier. "In a moment." I didn't want to take the chance someone would overhear us.

We finally entered the room, I immediately heard voices, one with a very familiar accent. Sasha broke out into a large smile and letting go of my hand, ran into the room. I had never been more relieved in my life to see Obi-Wan alive and well. Brushing away a few tears, I came over to his side. He reached over, pulled me close before we shared a quick kiss. Meanwhile, Anakin looked shocked, like he couldn't believe it.

"How? You knew?" His gaze went from me to Obi-Wan back to me.

"I would have known otherwise." I pointed out quietly.

For the next several minutes they explained to Anakin what was going on, that before Eval was taken to prison he bragged he mastered a plot to kidnap the Chancellor and Masters Yoda and Windu came up with a plan to help save him.

Anakin looked from one of us to the other before speaking quietly to Obi-Wan. "Why didn't you tell me?"

Obi-Wan sighed. "I needed you to sell my death. If it was questionable, I would not have the credibility to complete this mission and my life would be in even more danger." My husband placed his hands onto Anakin's shoulders. "Anakin for everything you are, you are a terrible actor and I absolutely needed you to play a part that night."

Anakin nodded, looking to start to understand the mission. "What's next?" He asked, gazing from the two masters to my husband.

"Obi-Wan will transform into Hardeen." Master Windu added.

Obi-Wan actually grinned at him. "And then you Anakin can arrest me."

"I think I can handle that." They discussed details for a moment or two before Master Windu changed the subject.

"Now for the moment, no one outside this room can know Obi-Wan is really alive. It would put everything at even a greater risk." He gazed to Anakin then to me. "Can you handle it?"

I nodded. "Sasha and I can stay in our quarters most of the time. We should be okay, especially since the ceremony on Naboo is only in a couple weeks."

Anakin agreed. "If you are concerned about this getting out, Meagan and I can create some sort of scene."

Obi-Wan raised an eyebrow but I had a feeling on where Anakin was going. "Cause a scene?"

"Oh, we can have a fight or something where I ask you to go find my husband's killer." I added, catching onto his idea.

"Good idea that is." Master Yoda finally spoke. "Let your grief show through it would."

Since the plan was made more sound, Obi-Wan gave a slight grin. "I guess it's time for a shave."

We all watched as a droid shaved his head and face. I barely recognized him when he was clean shaven and bald. Obi-Wan ran a hand over his head as Sasha who was still sitting on his lap, stared at him in wonder. He glanced down at her, smiling.

"Should this be my new look?"

Sasha shook her head, giggling. "You look better with hair."

Obi-Wan laughed before looking at me, raising an eyebrow.

"Absolutely not." But I leaned over to kiss him anyway. "Please, be safe."

"You know I will."

Not wanting to see the actual transformation, after another hug and kiss, Sasha and I left and we waited outside for Anakin. It wasn't that much later he joined us along with Master Yoda who took Sasha, saying he would bring her home later.

"We best be off then." Anakin led us back through the quiet halls as we discussed where we were going to have a fight, finally settling with an area where our voices would carry, causing a lot of Jedi to hear it.

On purpose, we had separated. I made my way through the Temple, noticing the Jedi watching silently, the halls still filled with quiet grief. At the meeting place, Anakin hurried around from another corner and met me.

"Oh, there you are Meagan." He wasted no time. "I've been looking everywhere for you." He glanced around. "Where's Sasha? Is she alright?"

"As well as she can be." I spoke quietly, wanting to pretend to keep the conversation private. "She's with Master Yoda, he thought he could help her."

Anakin nodded, pretending that made sense, when actually it really did. "Let me take you home."

I slowly shook my head, making it look like I was thinking about it. "I think I might go to the gardens to think before getting Sasha, I need some time alone." He looked hurt, very hurt. "Besides you have a wife Anakin. You can't spend the night on our couch indefinitely."

"Padme and I already discussed it, she's fine with it, at least for a few more days." He glanced around as if checking to see how many were trying not to watch us. "You and Sasha need me right now."

I shook my head. "Anakin, I just can't handle much more."

He put a hand on my shoulder, as if he was trying to comfort me. "I know, Meagan, let me help you through this. It's what Obi-Wan would have wanted. I promised him if anything happened to him, I would look after you and Sasha."

I took some steps back, trying to bring myself to do this. "Anakin, I'm sorry, I just can't." With that I turned to go and even took a few steps away before he caught my arm.

"Meagan, please, you need me right now."

"What I need," as I slightly turned, I was trembling with what I had to do, pointing to the world outside. "is for you to find the bounty hunter that took Obi-Wan from me. I want to see my husband's killer behind bars."

A ghost of a smile crossed his lips as this time he let me go. "Ahsoka and I can handle that."

I quickly made my way back to our quarters, my hood pulled up over my face to hide me from others. Once the door slid shut behind me, I collapsed onto the floor, so thankful it was over but let the tears fall, knowing it was still only the beginning.

AN: Are we the only ones that are disappointed by the lack of news that came out of Star Wars Celebration? Granted we are ultra-excited about Thrawn becoming canon with Rebels season 3 looking great and the behind the scenes on Rogue One was cool, maybe a Jimmy Smits cameo! However, we were hoping for episode 8 title or maybe a little concept art or plot ideas on the Solo movie or the next stand-alone film. However all they announced were things we were already told. A little disappointed but from the videos we saw it looks like everyone had a great time. Still wish we could go to one sometime!

And our quote for the day from Sense and Sensibility, we adore Jane Austen!

Elinor Dashwood: You have no confidence in me.

Marianne: This reproach from you. You who confide in no-one.

Elinor Dashwood: I have nothing to tell.

Marianne: Nor I. Neither of us have anything to tell. I because I conceal nothing and you because you communicate nothing.

MissFlynnie: We are so glad you have enjoyed the latest chapter with the wedding and all! We have always thought Obi-Wan would make a great father and have enjoyed showing it when we can! Sasha is definitely a Daddy's little girl. There should be some more with them coming, but maybe not for a couple more chapters. Thanks again, we always appreciate hearing from you!

ColdOnePaul: We are glad you have been enjoying our story! As the timeline, we are about a year and half or so into the Clone Wars. In canon, the Clone Wars I think was about three or so years, though our version may end up being a bit longer. Yes, while on Naboo, Ahsoka was helping with Sasha's training some, now that Sasha is getting along with her! Thanks again and we hope you enjoyed this chapter.

Sharnorasian Empire: Yes the rest of the story is a wait and see as we don't want to give anything away! But we think our readers will enjoy the ride. As for the Star Wars galaxy, it is a rather fun one to dive into isn't? We have had a lot of fun, coming up with ideas and characters we can bring in and talking about different scenes or cliffhangers that may drive our readers crazy! We wish you the best of luck with your story! Thanks again, we hope you enjoyed our version of the start of the Harden episodes.
