Chapter One Hundred and Eight

**Anakin's Point of View**

After telling Masters Yoda and Windu, who were a bit skeptical but thought this sub-space message was worth following up on, I got ready to leave. It was harder telling Padme and Ahsoka not only that I was leaving, but not sharing the details of why I was following this lead. Due to the more sensitive nature of this situation, it was better to leave my Padawan here for now.

"You know something." Ahsoka confronted me.

I gave a sigh, I wanted to tell her and Padme the truth that Obi-Wan's father rescued them, but I promised Jema I would tread carefully. "I do, but unfortunately I am not at liberty to explain."

They both looked troubled, both wanting to come with me. "I need you two to stay here, to look after Sasha and to keep following up on other leads."

"But what if you need help Master? I do not want to leave you alone." Ahsoka said, still protesting my decision.

I placed my hand on her shoulder. "This mission is not dangerous, I am just gathering information. Once I learn and know more, hopefully we will put a plan of action into effect in which you can join me."

They finally relented and I felt they would both stay put here. After saying goodbye to Sasha, with her hoping I would be bringing her parents back to her, I gathered my men and left.

The planet of Tanger was a good size one, a mix of humans with several other species calling this place home, but did not feel overrun. It was a peaceful planet that was a part of the Republic and generally supportive of the war and relief efforts. It was also beautiful, covered with mountains and vistas, lakes and rivers. There were some larger settlements but also looked to have smaller towns and farms. Like it was a good place to call home.

I managed to find my way around, realizing the Force felt strong here. As if it was protected from the horrors of the war which divided the rest of the galaxy. I made my way into one of the places the Kain's owned, hoping to find Rosabella Kain.

Thankfully she was there, hearing someone call her by name. But I think I might have realized who she was anyway, the way she handled herself and the customers, spoke of leadership and experience. The store was a bit crowded so I looked around, waiting for it to clear out a bit. And when it did, I approached her when she was standing by a work counter.

"Mrs. Kain, might I have a moment of your time?" I asked her quietly, not wanting anyone to overhear us.

She looked at me, looked into the hood I was wearing and obviously knew who I was and yet did not seem too surprised to see me. She smiled and nodded. "Of course, Master Skywalker, we can talk in my office."

She led me down a hallway and into a small office in a back room and once we were situated with cups of tea, she spoke.

"I must say, one of my grandsons will be so disappointed not to meet you. He is a tremendous fan of yours, follows all of your exploits."

I felt my face flame, hoping he wasn't doing anything too dangerous.

"You are quite famous." She laughed a little, sitting her cup down, obviously seeing my embarrassment. "Of course he argues with his cousin who thinks your partner is the better Jedi."

Despite why I was here, I could not help but laugh, hearing the games of Kenobi and Skywalker which played across the galaxy were alive in Obi-Wan's own family. But moving onto the seriousness of what sent me here, I set my own cup down and leaned forward. "Obi-Wan is why I am here. I am assuming you have heard what happened to him and his wife?"

"It's been all over the holonet these past weeks." Rosabella paused and gazed at me for long moments, as if sizing me up, before simply asking. "Why here? Why me?"

Remembering to tread carefully I began to explain. "Your husband, Dalton Kain, volunteered to help people recover from a battle, on a mercy mission lead by Meagan Kenobi some months ago. I believe she contacted him to help her and Obi-Wan escape from wherever they were."

"Yes I remember he mentioned meeting the Kenobi's and being pleased with what they were doing and said he became good friends with her." She confirmed what I was thinking was correct.

"Do you know where Dalton is now? Is he here?" I felt my heart rate rise with hoping I was about to hear good news.

"He is not here. He was in the Triliam sector, doing a delivery that we usually send some of our staff on but they were unable to go so Dalton went instead."

The sector was not that far from where Obi-Wan and Meagan could have gone! It certainly was close enough for him to come to their help, if my calculations were correct. "When was this?"

The time frame she told me even fit and then she finished with. "I have only heard from him once and it was a message written in such a code that I do not even fully understand it. All I could guess was that he was helping someone and he might not be home for some time."

"Might I see this message?" I somehow managed to keep my voice calm but I wanted to jump up and down with this confirmation that Obi-Wan and Meagan were on their way home.

She nodded and within a few minutes had pulled it up and let me read it. At first looking at it, it made no sense. Though as she explained the shorthand he sometimes used, I began making some sense out of it.

"You think your friends are with Dalton somewhere?" She asked after a long silence as I continued to study the message.

I nodded before asking her such questions about what type of ship does he have, do you know what kind of routes he takes, who might he also contact, does he leave an active tracker on his ships, does he normally start off a trip with fuel reserves full, did he go straight there or make stops along the way and things of that nature.

Once she answered the questions I still wasn't quite sure where they were at or exactly where they were headed but knowing Obi-Wan and by knowing where some Separatist outposts and armies had been seen lately, we might be able to trace him. I still needed more, but one thing I did understand was that Dalton didn't want her to call him, that he felt it would put them into danger, which meant the Separatist were still looking for them.

After saving the notes I put onto a data pad, I slipped it into a pocket and turned my attention back to Rosabella. "Thank you so much, this will really help find them. If you hear from Dalton again, especially if you think he has important information, please contact the Jedi." I gave her the number that would put her through to the desk of a couple knights and Padawans that assisted the Council. "Tell them I talked to you and you have important information for me concerning the Kenobi's."

She nodded. "I will, though I am not sure he will."

"I know but just in case." I leaned over and picked up my tea and sipped it again. It had grown nearly cold but felt good to drink it nonetheless. I nodded to the picture I saw on her desk. "Is that your family?"

"Yes." She smiled rather fondly and I could sense how close knit they were. "There are four children between Dalton and I and each of them are married with children of their own." I could clearly see, besides Dalton and Rosabella who were also in the picture, only six other adults, which meant she knew about Obi-Wan. At least in some form.

"So how much trouble does those grandchildren get into?"

"Entirely too much sometimes, but they are good kids."

I could not help but smile at seeing the heads of red hair. Rosabella herself had some and it seemed Obi-Wan's attraction to red hair came rather naturally whether he knew it or not. "My niece would fit right in. She's a sweet little girl but sometimes finds herself in way over her head."

Rosabella laughed before turning a bit more serious again. "I hope she is doing alright with her parents missing."

"As well as she can." I gave a little sigh and as much as I would have liked to stay and chat with her, knew that I needed to get going. "Thank you for your time but I need to use this to find them quickly."

She nodded and rose. "You're quite welcome." After she walked me to the door, she placed a hand on my arm. "Please find them."

I could see she was trying not to be worried not only for her husband but for Obi-Wan and Meagan as well. "I will. And hopefully next time I stop by I can meet those grandboys of yours."

She laughed softly. "I hope so too."

With that I left and headed back towards my ship, hoping that we could come back here, maybe next time when not so much was at stake. I flew my fighter to where I left Rex with the rest of my fleet at a rondeaux point far enough away from the planet that it wouldn't concern them but close enough that if something happened they could get to me quickly.

Once on board, I had the men head back to the Temple. While in hyperspace, Rex and I met in my small office off the bridge.

"You trust this source?" Rex asked as I plugged in some of the information into the terminal, adding to the information I had already put together.

"Yes, I believe Obi-Wan and Meagan are on this ship and we need to find it, help them somehow."

He studied the maps as it showed possible routes into Republic space based on where we thought they had been. "Are you sure this is what happened to them? After all, we do not know for sure where Ventress took them."

"I know but I have a good hunch I am really onto something here." I was not about to ignore my gut instincts now.

When I didn't continue Rex asked. "So do you have a plan?"

I gave a small sigh. "Not yet. While I have a good idea of where they are heading, I can't be completely sure. I do not want to hinder their progress either if I am wrong. It could cost them their lives. We need a solid plan."

Rex nodded, agreeing with me.

"Any other leads?" I asked when he didn't speak.

"None, Cody and his men have been working hard to find them but nothing they have been working on has turned up anything. I think he feels bad that he wasn't there to help the General from the start."

"I think we all do Rex." I gave a long sigh. "I think I have the type of ship they are in, anyway we can track it would be great."

"I will have the men start with that and maybe combine it with the sub-space message. We haven't found anything yet, but maybe with this new information, together it might help."

"Yes, please do."

"Yes sir. Anything else?"

I thought for a moment before shaking my head. "That will be all Rex, thank you."

"We will find them sir." With that he left the room, leaving me to my thoughts.

**Obi-Wan's Point of View**

Dalton and I continued to study the star maps, trying to find any way out of this situation, anyway for us to survive. Unfortunately, my thoughts and feelings kept bringing me back to my original idea. I would have to cause some sort of distraction, to draw away Grievous and Dooku's droid armies.

Studying the map, there was a planet a little on the smaller side, close to where the opening of the hyperspace drop was, to where we could hit the lane that would take us to the nearest Republic base. Dooku I was sure would take the bait, if we could make enough noise.

"Are you sure about this?" Dalton asked, looking worried. "I am not sure if I completely agree with this plan. As your father, I don't think I can let you do this. I should be the one staying behind, you have another child on the way."

Though I appreciated his willingness to sacrifice himself for us, I was not sure if it was the right answer either. Thinking about my response, it took several minutes to form it. "Dalton, while I appreciate your offer, I am not sure it would be enough to draw Dooku. It is us he is looking for. I should be able to hold Dooku off long enough for you and Meagan to escape."

Dalton sighed, obviously not happy about it, but seemed to understand. "And the rest of the plan?"

I gazed at the topography of the planet before slowly coming up with a plan that would ensure Dalton and Meagan's freedom.

Now the issue that gnawed at my mind was not only how to tell Meagan of this plan but how to say goodbye. With a feeling of dread, I pulled my wife aside to explain the battle plan to her.

**Meagan's Point of View**

I stared at my husband, not believing what I was hearing as he explained that he would cause a distraction so Dalton and I could get safely back home. "We will then come back for you?"

Obi-Wan's eyes held such sorrow that I knew he was telling the truth.

"No, Obi-Wan, please, there must be another way." I swiped at the tears that suddenly surfaced.

He held back a sigh. "Come here love."

I hesitated for a brief moment before climbing into his lap.

He wrapped his arms around me, holding me for long moments before further explaining. "Dooku is after us, I do not believe all of us will make it out alive if we continue on this course. We looked at other options but this plan at least gives you and Dalton a much better chance."

I saw his reasons of course but knew he more than likely would not survive, that I would never see him again. I started shaking my head in disbelief, tears still forming in my eyes. "I will not leave you."

"But you must my dear. If there was another way which would get all of us out alive, I would take it." He gently wiped my tears. "Meagan, if this works and you return home, at least Sasha will not lose both of her parents." He paused before placing a hand on my middle. "Meagan, if nothing else, please think of the baby."

I clung to him, not wanting to lose him, but yet knew he was right, knew I needed to put our children first. But could I do this? Could I leave him?
"I know my love, I know. You must do this and you must be strong." Obi-Wan spoke long moments later, his fingers gently winding, soothingly through my hair.

"Aren't we close enough to reach Anakin?" I tried to come up with something, anything to find another way.

He sighed, slowly shaking his head. "Dooku will at least know which direction we are headed. It's too risky because he's liable to intercept it."

Tears were now running down my cheeks. I wanted to continue, to protest, but I knew deep in my heart, he was right, this was our only solution. I didn't like it, but I did have the baby I was carrying to think of. It tore me up inside to lose my husband but could I really leave my daughter an orphan or take the chance the sith could get a hold of the child I carried? There really was no good choice in this situation.

I gave a soft sigh, still clinging to Obi-Wan, not sure how I was going to say goodbye.

Dalton made himself scare, giving Obi-Wan and I time alone. We were currently laying in each other's arms, my head pillowed against his chest as his fingers tangled in my hair. His other hand rested on the slight swell of my middle. I was almost afraid to speak, as if shattering the silence between us would make this real, where I could no longer pretend I wasn't about to lose my husband for good. I felt Obi-Wan place a kiss upon my temple and I could not help but cuddle closer to him, trying to remember every touch, every moment, as this was more than likely our last night together.

We both drifted in and out of a sleep as we held each other except for an occasional trip to the refresher or to find a snack. I often felt Obi-Wan's gaze on me, as if he was also memorizing everything.

**Anakin's Point of View**

"So, how are we going to do this?" Ahsoka asked as we were trying to come up with a game plan to finding Meagan and Obi-Wan as soon as I returned home from my trip to Tanger.

I glanced over the star maps. "I am not sure yet. Rex sent out some scouts to try to locate that ship but haven't come up with anything."

"You are not thinking of going out there without a plan?" Ahsoka asked quietly, looking a little bit apprehensive.

I didn't answer her for a long moment. "Hopefully not but at some point we are going to have to act or they may die."

Ahsoka sighed. "I know Master."

Thankfully intelligence soon reported a gathering of Separatist troops and the two bases I had put on alert also reported more ships coming into the area through their long range scanners. Then some of the council with Ahsoka and I met to discuss this recent information and what our plan of action would be.

"But what are they doing heading there?" Master Plo asked, studying the maps. "There is really no strategic advantage of gathering at that location."

I studied the hyperspace lanes. "That's where Obi-Wan is, or at least heading. Dooku or Grievous are more than likely guarding the lane where Obi-Wan would be looking to make the jump to safer safe."

Master Windu studied the map for long moments before looking up towards me. "You really think that's where they are."

Remembering to tread carefully, I only said. "Yes, Master. I believe Obi-Wan and Meagan escaped and were rescued here." I pointed out the spot on the map. "And are headed this direction."

"You trust your source? This is not a lot to go on."

"I know it is not much but I feel this is the right path to take." I said, addressing those in the room. "I am not a liberty to say more but I trust my source."

Master Yoda nodded. "Trust you we do."

"Take your squadron as well as Obi-Wan's, you may need them."

"Thank you Masters." I turned to Ahsoka. "Let's go Padawan." We turned to leave but Master Yoda stopped us a moment later.

"Take Master Jessie with you. Need her Meagan might." Master Yoda gave me a knowing look. If something had happened to either Meagan or the baby, Master Yoda just might be right.

"I will." With that Ahsoka and I left the room. We soon began gathering the troops and getting ready to leave. Rex, Cody, Ahsoka and I met together to come up with a battle plan. We were going to bring Meagan and Obi-Wan home.

**Meagan's Point of View**

Coming up to the planet, we all stood in the cockpit, Dalton's hand over the dashboard of the ship, to pull us out of hyperspace.

"Are we ready?" Dalton asked a moment or so later.

I watched as my husband stood confidante and ready, every inch the Jedi Master. "Yes, bring us down."

"Here we go." Dalton gave a sigh as I held onto the seat, gripping it tightly, not liking this at all.

I felt my stomach turn as we dropped out of hyperspace and the planet was looming before us.

Obi-Wan squeezed my hand as Dalton expertly flew us down. "It will be alright Meagan."

I managed a slight smile, not liking this plan but knew it was the only option at this point. I could only hope it would be alright.

Dalton let the ship down in a docking bay in the major city complex. Clinging tightly to my husband's hand, we headed through some of the main streets.

"I do not think it will take too long for someone to report seeing us." Obi-Wan said quietly, making sure I was aware of what to do. "Once the Seps arrive, you two need to head back to the ship."

I clung to his hand, not wanting to say goodbye, if I even could. I turned slightly to see Dalton looking rather resolved but he also looked determined to make this successful.

It took a little longer than we thought but eventually ships started appearing above us. I gripped his hand even tighter.

"Meagan." Obi-Wan's voice was low and soft, as he turned slightly pulling me into his arms.

I knew we were out of time, that I now had to let go. "I will always love you."

"Be safe, be happy." His kiss was gentle and sweet. "Raise our children well."

I suddenly couldn't let go, clinging desperately to him. "Obi-Wan…."

"This is the only way." His accent was thick with emotion. "I love you." He held me tight for a long moment before leaning down kissing me deep and hard before letting go.

His eyes held such sorrow as I felt Dalton take my elbow, pulling me slightly back. Obi-Wan gave me a smile before he turned around and began to run. I felt my knees grow weak and would have sunk to the floor except for Dalton holding me up. Tears streamed down my face and I felt the urge to run after him.

"Come Meagan." Dalton tried to pull me toward his ship but I just stood there, watching where Obi-Wan had disappeared. "We have to get ready. We can't let his sacrifice be in vain."

Finally coming out of my stupor, I stumbled after Dalton as we ran back to the ship. I noticed others too were running around everywhere as the droid ships began to descend down. Once we were on the ship, through a film of tears, I managed to strap myself in. Meanwhile Dalton remained collected and calm as he began to fire up the ship and get us ready to leave.

It was soon obvious the distraction my husband used was working, no one was paying attention to us as our ship began to lift upwards. Dooku's total attention was drawn to him. I felt our bond slide closed, as if Obi-Wan was wanting to lessen the blow. Tears were clouding my vision as I saw Dalton maneuver slightly around and was plugging in the coordinates that would take us to safety.

"Wait Meagan." A voice or thought echoed through my mind, maybe it was me, maybe it was the baby or maybe someone else but it made me pay attention. "Anakin."

Not wanting to leave my husband, I listened to whatever it was, hoping I was not wrong. "Dalton wait."

"What?" He turned, shock on his features. "Meagan, we are only going to have a few more seconds to get out of here. The sooner we get to safer space, the sooner we can send for the Republic fleet to go back and get Obi-Wan."

"I know." Taking a deep breath, I turned slightly, reaching for the communications panel and began entering Anakin's com number, praying I was making the right decision.

"Meagan, what are you doing?" Dalton asked, his voice calm but I could tell he was shook up.

Just then several large ships came out of hyperspace. My husband's and Anakin's fleet.

I punched the correct button, heard it connect and immediately started speaking. "Anakin."

"Meagan." It wasn't the best connection but I could see him looking rather worried. "Are you alright?"

"I'm fine." I swiped at the tears, knowing this nightmare was nearly finally over. "Obi-Wan is doing something rather heroically stupid. Please go rescue him."

"So that explains why the Seps attention is drawn." He smiled. "We are on it. We will open the cargo bay doors for you."

The ships were drawing some fire power, so Dalton managed to steer us clear as other Republic ships starting to draw some of it away. Once they had cleared some space, Dalton expertly maneuvered us inside Anakin's flag ship.

After Dalton brought the ship down and began powering off, I headed out of the cockpit and then off the gangplank.

"Anakin." I laughed throwing myself into him, never had I been so glad to see him. Over his shoulder I could see Ahsoka grinning wildly.

"Meagan." He pulled me close and I felt tears rush my eyes at the sound of his voice. "I'm so glad you are safe. Are you sure you are okay?"

I knew what he was really asking and simply said. "We are fine, just go rescue that husband of mine."

He gave me a grin as Ahsoka and I shared a big hug. "That's why I am here."

Dalton had come up from behind me. "Obi-Wan was headed toward the east end of town in an attempt to divert the Seps. I am not sure if he has been captured or not."

"So we will create even more of a diversion while a squad heads down to the planet." Anakin looked over at him. "Would you care to join us? We may need a ship Obi-Wan can jump into."

Dalton grinned. "I'd love too."

"Very well, then, let's load them up." Anakin then turned towards me. "Master Jessie is on board, so she will come looking for you and I've also given the men strict instructions to take you out of the line of fire."

"I'm not leaving my husband." I told him in no uncertain terms.

"Only out of the danger zone." Anakin assured me as they hurried off.

I watched as the ships left the hanger bay. Within moments of them clearing the bay, the ship turned and began moving away from the planet. With a sigh, I turned and started towards the exit.

**Obi-Wan's Point of View**

As I ran away from Meagan and Dalton, I resisted the urge to glance over my shoulder at my wife once more but felt if I did I would not be able to do what I needed to do. Bringing out my saber, I headed towards where the droid ships were landing. I thought the rumors I was on planet would be enough to draw Dooku down. I was not completely sure of how this would go but as long as it was enough to see Meagan and Dalton to safety.

As I was working my way through the droids I certainly noticed the Seps coming my direction and felt relieved the plan was beginning to work. With a quick glance upwards I was able to see Dalton's ship heading off to safety and no one was paying attention to it. Several minutes later I also noticed large ships coming out of hyperspace but unfortunately could not take much more notice of them. I thought they were Republic warships but could not tell for sure and could not turn any attention to it.

A buzzing sound above told me there were fighters coming towards me and I quickly dove down, finding cover from the fire. This was really beginning to work as I thought it would. This should buy Dalton and Meagan the time they needed and I could feel pleased my sacrifice would not be in vain that my wife and children would still have each other.

As the sounds of the fighters died away, I cautiously came out from my hiding place to see the enemy fighters being drawn away by our fighters. So the fleet had arrived. Whether they could get to me or not was irrelevant but I could continue on this course with no fear. My wife and father would survive.

I continued to slice through droids as they were once again paying attention to me and I clearly heard them saying they couldn't kill me as they were instructed to bring me in alive. Interesting I thought, wondering if I should surrender to them or not. Even if I did not make it out of this alive, at least I had a chance of taking either Grievous or Dooku down with me, which would be a tremendous achievement for the Republic's goal in this war.

Seeing a ship I felt for sure contained some higher up commander, more than likely Dooku, landing a little ways away, I began to work my way there. Keeping my back against buildings kept me safe but was taking longer to get where I needed to go. I couldn't quite tell if the other two had jumped into hyperspace or not.

Then suddenly, a two-person fighter chasing off some of the droid fighters, crashed or somewhat crashed not that far from me. Somehow I was not that surprised to see both Anakin and Ahsoka jumping out of the fighter and started working their way through the droids towards me.

"Where are you going?" Anakin called across and above the noise.

"I think Dooku is over there." I indicated where the ship landed and felt a darkness coming from that direction that indicated a Sith's Lord presence.

"Let's go then." Anakin called back as we continued forwards fighting through the droids.

We noticed our troops above soon had the Seps on the run, the droids around us retreating to their ships. Unfortunately, the ships we were heading towards soon took off and I soon felt we had lost the chance to get Dooku.

"Anakin." I gave him a look as we neared each other. "That was not your finest moment, crashing a ship like that. What did you think you were doing?"

He just laughed. "Your wife scares me. She made me come and get you."

It felt good to laugh as we embraced like long lost brothers. "I have never been more glad to see you."

"Well I should hope so." Anakin chided me as Ahsoka and I greeted each other. "Let's get rid of these droids."

I couldn't agree more as the battle continued.

"Do you have a plan of getting us back to the ship?" I asked at some point.

"Dalton has been circling around and will come down to get us." At seeing the look on my face he quickly went on. "Don't worry I made sure they took her out of the line of fire."

Once the battle was over, Anakin radioed Dalton and he came to pick us up. I was so relieved that this was almost over.

Once onboard, Dalton quickly took us up as the remainder of the fighters routed out the droid fighters. We immediately noticed the ship I believed to be Dooku's was gone but several of their larger destroyers and smaller ships were still exchanging fire with ours. It took some doing and coordinating but we finally sent them on the run.

"Rex, Cody, let's get everyone and get out of here." I told them once it was clear it was over.

"Will do General." They both said at nearly the same time. "It's good to have you back."

"It's good to be back." I admitted with a smile before turning to the others. "Now where is Meagan?"

"On board one of my ships but I had the men take her to the nearest star base." Anakin said before telling the men to regroup there.

Once the coordinates were set, we, along with the others, jumped into hyperspace.

As we headed from the cockpit into the gallery to relax, Anakin and Ahsoka began to update me on what was going on. "I told her it was only out of the line of fire but they really took her a short flight a way."

"She probably would have raised a fuss if you told her." I could not but admit, well knowing my strong determined wife.

Anakin laughed. "Well, I don't think you want to hear what she called you."

I could not help but smile. "I can imagine."

As we settled down for at least a little while, I asked them how they managed to find us, Anakin responded saying Sasha figured out our sub-space message, the one we sent weeks ago.

"How is she?" My heart suddenly ached at thinking of what Sasha had just gone through, something I had tried not to think about this past weeks.

"Holding up as best as she can, she's had some difficult times but overall handling things as well as she could." Anakin said. "Once we get to base, we should be able to get a signal out so you and Meagan can see her."

Relief flooded through me that she was safe and cared for but I really did not expect anything less. I looked up and found Anakin grinning.

"You're welcome."

I couldn't help but shake my head at that, smiling slightly, once again, relieved that this was finally over and I could take my wife home.

**Meagan's Point of View**

I was nearly to the door when it slid open and the healer stepped through. I put up a protest, really wanting to go to the bridge to hear when my husband was rescued.

"It might be a bit before we hear anything and it would be a good distraction." Master Jessie said as she took me through the ship to the healers wing. She gave me a long accessing look before speaking again. "Do not worry there are no men there, just us."

That relieved me, especially as I knew she wanted to check on the baby as well as other things. So once I was changed into a medical gown she came back in and we got started.

"Put pressure on this." She said as she placed a wade of material against my arm where she drew a couple vials of blood once the exam was over. "Your blood pressure is a little too high for my liking, but considering the situation, I think everything else is okay. The lab results might tell us if anything else is going on."

I gave a sigh of relief even though I felt the baby was fine.

She placed the vials on the counter before wheeling over a machine. "I wasn't able to bring exactly what I wanted, there wasn't time, but this was already on board for other injuries. It won't be exact but should be able to see enough for our purposes today. We'll get a better look once we have you home."

Seeing what she meant, I laid back down on the examine table and watched as she finished setting up the equipment before coming over to pull away the gown from around my middle. I gave a yelp of surprise as she rubbed on the gel.

She gave a slight laugh as I grumbled at her that she should have reminded me of how cold it was.

"Here we go." She said as she moved the device around, trying to get the best view of the baby. "This is extremely blurry." She turned the monitor towards me where I could see it. "However, I think you can just make it out."

It took a moment of staring at it but soon could see it. I blinked away the tears, wishing Obi-Wan was here as the healer confirmed everything was fine.

"This obviously is not clear enough to tell what sex the baby is, but the better equipment back home should. You are just far enough along to tell." She paused for a moment before asking. "Or do you already know?"

I shook my head. "Sasha told me directly she was a she but this one hasn't." I brushed the tears away as I sorted through my thoughts.

The Master Healer smiled. "There have been cases where the mother was never completely able to sense the sex of the child, as if the child wanted it to be a surprise."

I stared at her, thinking being surprised might be nice, but had no idea of what Obi-Wan would think of it.

"The next time we do this, you can tell us if you want to know or not." She said before turning back to the equipment. "I can put this onto a datapad so you would have your first baby picture."

I nodded, glad I could show my husband our baby.

After getting dressed, we headed to the bridge to await word of the team rescuing Obi-Wan. The men stationed there said it was reported the battle was going well and we would rendezvous with them once it was over. Apparently Anakin told them to take me further away than he indicated. So, since it looked to be a little longer, Master Jessie made me lie down on the couch in Anakin's office to get some rest. I would have preferred waiting on the bridge but at least I wasn't confided to quarters or the med floor. I must have been more tired than I thought as I must have fallen asleep because the next I knew, I heard a familiar voice calling my name.

"Meagan," The roughened fingers touching my face awakened me to see my husband sitting on the edge of the couch.

I blinked several times but every time I opened them, he was still sitting right there. I promptly burst into tears and with a teary but glad cry, I sat up, throwing myself into his arms. We held each other close for a long time before he finally spoke.

"It's over, Meagan, we are going home. We are safe."

Once I had managed to get my emotions under control, Obi-Wan and I went to join the others for a meal and to complete our plans for returning home.

An: Well there you have it, Meagan and Obi-Wan are finally rescued and on their way home. The rather tearful reunion with Sasha will be during the next chapter as we wrap the rest of this up. We hope you have enjoyed reading this as we have writing it. Thanks again, we would love to hear your thoughts.

PrettyRecklessLaura: It's always good to hear from you. We appreciate your loyal readership. Thanks again and we hope you have enjoyed this sequence.

Tauriel Skywalker: We have always enjoyed reading your thoughts on the story. Rex is one of our faves too, he's been a good addition to the story. Obi-Wan certainly wasn't happy about that situation with Ventress and there is certainly much more to come with her from that point in the story. As for the quote, we highly recommend any Cary Grant movies, they are great and Operation Petticoat is one our favorites! Thanks again and we hope you continued to like our story.

Quote: We can't believe we have never quoted Anne from Green Gables before (the 1985 version). It was one of our ultimate favorite movies. So from the meeting of Anne Shirley and Marilla Cuthbert. It is cut down but it's the best part of it.

Anne: "So if you only call me Anne with a E, I'll try to reconcile myself to not being called Cordelia."

Marilla: "Very well then, Anne with an E, how is it that you were happened to be brought and not a boy?"

Anne: "If I were very beautiful and had nut brown hair would you keep me?"

Marilla: "No, we have absolutely no use for a girl."

Well, if you have never seen it, Anne stays.
