Ch 22: Knot A Bad Idea
Spadix's birthday was on a Sunday. That Saturday, Indi and Sterling turned to Spadix. They wanted to do something with Spadix early so that they could head out and give the couple space. "So, do you want to do the cupcake today? I know it's early but I think Sterling is going do some cool stuff in town tomorrow with Ruby and Weiss and it might be fun to go."
The owl looked at her friends, confused and a bit hurt, "You… don't want to go with me on my actual birthday?"
Sterling looked over at the bathroom with Jin in the shower, trying to save them, "It's not that we just… thought maybe…"
Spadix frowned and looked at her book before putting it away, "Don't worry about it. We don't have to go."
Indi's face saddened, "Spadix no. We'll go. I didn't mean it like that, I swear. I just wanted to be sure that you were able to have a good time without worrying about if we are here."
They watched the owl pull her knees to herself. Sterling rubbed the back of his head and knelt down, "How about this, we will be back bright and early before the dumb lizard wakes up? I'll bring you something and keep her company while you spend time with your best friend and then we will head out after so you can have the rest of the day with your girlfriend? The Xiao Long and Rose families are big on midnight traditions so we just want to be out of the way in case you two decide to be close, that way you don't have to choose between her or your modesty."
Spadix stared at them. The two smiled back. Indi swooped in for a big hug, feeling the faunus hug her back. It meant a lot to her that her friends wanted to be able to give her the space to feel unburdened by her own restraints that could hinder the things she wanted from time to time with her lover.
Indi ruffled her hair and smiled playfully, "Just don't make too much of a mess yea? We live here too ya know!"
Spadix frowned, cheeks red as she shoved Indi off. A knock came at the door and Sterling and Indi grabbed their small bags to get through the weekend, leaving with Weiss as Jin came out of the bathroom. The dragon looked over at her owl curiously. Spadix just smiled, grabbing her hood and putting it back on, "Let's go get dinner."
The blonde smiled, scrubbing as much water from her hair as possible before sliding her jeans up over her shorts. They headed down for food, hands intertwined the whole way. Spadix's eyes stared up at the tall beauty holding her by the hand with soft pink across her partially hidden cheeks.
It was wild to believe that this December it would be a year ago, Jin had kissed her for the first time. While they had not officially been a couple yet, they had been in the eb and flow of each other's hearts for all that time, figuring out each other and how to be together. Still they were learning and growing together. Things were still exciting and sometimes new and scary but felt safer to explore the more time together passed. That knowledge had been what had given her the courage for things she wanted to explore with the dragon together tonight.
Jin glanced over, a sweet but coy smile showing, "Now who's staring?"
Spadix grew flustered and looked away, pulling at her hood to hide her face. She heard the playful laughter of her girlfriend and felt a loving squeeze to her hand and relaxed some. "I'm just messing. Come on, let's get some food."
They grabbed their plates and found an empty table, sitting next to each other and enjoying their meal. Spadix always opted for the chicken plate which was grilled teriyaki over rice today. Jin went with a burger and fries, having more of a taste for red meat and craving something more greasy.
She couldn't help but smile watching Spadix's joy at the delicious meal, hiding her own excitement for the date planned for her birthday. She had kept it a secret from everyone, wanting to surprise the bird faunus. She wanted to spoil and treat her, make her feel special and loved and didn't want anyone to ruin any of it. Jin didn't even care if they got physical or not. She just wanted to see her smile and know she was filled with love and felt cherished.
"Jin… you're staring…" Spaidx voiced, frowning.
Jin just chuckled and finished her food. When they returned to the dorm, the owl grabbed her change of clothes and headed for the shower. Jin relaxed on her bed, eyes drifting closed even while wide awake, foot swaying to and fro off the edge of her bed with her other pulled up and her knee raised. She tucked her arm under her head and set the other over her stomach, letting the peaceful quiet of only the muffled running shower sounds and the fading evening around her calm her senses.
She never really was one to put too much stock into thinking far into the future, more of an in the moment or a near future sort of person herself. At the moment though, she found herself wondering if Spadix ever thought far into her future. Did she plan to be a huntress like her brother or was she forging her own path? Why didn't she ever talk about him? Why had she never asked before? Was it even ok to ask? Did she see Jin as part of that future?
The dragon hadn't noticed the silence. She hadn't even noticed a door open or the sound of someone coming close. It wasn't until Spadix gently laid over her, sliding close and resting her damp head gently against her chest that she was even drawn out of her thoughts. Her body flinched in surprise then quickly settled, hearing a soft giggle, the owl leaning up to look down into her amber pools, "You ok? It isn't like you to spook easily."
A grin and gentle caress to the supple skin of the owl's cheek were received as a response, amber eyes glimmering in the fading sunset from the window, "I was just thinking about you."
Spadix felt her confidence quickly wane, her cheeks pink, "O-oh…"
Jin lifted herself on an elbow, pressing her forehead softly into the owl's, "If you lay over me like this you know, you are only going to get my thoughts going."
Spadix kissed her forehead, flicking her nose before pulling away, "Maybe I should move for now then."
She reached and grabbed her book, opening the window and lighting her candle before sitting back into Jin's bed against the wall. She patted her lap, teasing sweetly, "Do you need a better place to rest for your weary thoughts?"
Her girlfriend smiled and leaned her head on her thigh, curling over to face her, eyes glancing up at the owl's face for a bit before closing. She could feel Spadix lift her other leg to rest her book on her knee and her spare hand petting through her blonde locks, the sensation so soothing she had to resist falling asleep. 'Forever… I could have nights like this throughout my life forever… I want them to sprinkle my life forever…'
Spadix glanced down after a while. It was clear by her breathing that Jin had dozed off. She smiled softly, going back to her book. While she had come to enjoy closer moments from time to time, these were her favorite nights. Simple and sweet moments between them that felt warm and gentle. No intentions or overthinking, just each other.
She'd be lying if she were to say she didn't have other things she wanted from the night but for now, she was more than content with this moment exactly as it was while she indulged in her favorite hobby and book series. Unlike her lover, she was very capable of pacing herself and enjoying slower, gentler moments like these, never bothered if something sexual didn't occur even if she was in the mood for it so long as Jin was at least there beside her.
After hours had passed and she reached the end of the book, she closed it with a sad smile. She was going to have to wait for the library to stock the next edition now for the next bit of story but she was happy to get to the end. She rarely got to get much reading done anymore, most nights only getting through a chapter or two between studying or wanting sleep for classes or time with Jin. She glanced over and was surprised at the time. It was already ten.
She gently leaned to set the book on the floor by the shelf and out of the way of being a trip hazard. Leaning her arm onto her raised knee and watching Jin sleep, she rested her head in her arm and contemplated if she should wake her. Sure, she had plans on her mind for her birthday alone with her strong brawler without the presence of her teammates killing her arousal but seeing Jin in such peace was its own kind of heart warming bliss.
Before Jin knew it, she felt the gentle stroking of the back of Spadix's cold fingers against her cheek and heard her soft lulling voice, "Jin, it's late. We should probably lay down for bed."
The dragon opened her eyes slowly, amber orbs glancing sleepily up at the two swirling pools in the moonlight looking down at her. The look in the owl's eyes was so kind and sweet that Jin felt her cheeks tint softly, "Did I fall asleep?"
Spadix chuckled softly, the sound light and blissful to Jin's ears, "You did but it's ok. It was really cute. I didn't mind."
She slowly sat up, staring at Spadix, who watched her the whole time, head still resting on her arm hugged around her knee. The dragon rubbed her tired eyes and gently leaned in, going to kiss her love's cheek except Spadix turned her head, lips pressing to Jin's softly.
The owl saw her chance, not wanting to lose her small wave of confidence in her desire for the one she loved and the plans she had for the night. Jin was always the most attractive to Spadix when she wasn't trying too hard to be or trying to strike sparks up. When Jin was just earnestly in love with her was when Spadix was most drawn to her, not that the rest was bad. That was all part of Jin too. It just didn't tug at Spadix's sense of physical desire nearly as much as when Jin was gentle and simply loving with no other intentions or ideas or jokes or games in mind, just a bared heart and soul that only Spadix really ever got to see.
Jin let out a gentle sigh, feeling Spadix reach for her, her body being laid back sweetly. She could feel Spadix's hands travel up her arms to hers, lacing her fingers into her own. When their lips parted, Jin caught her breath, Spadix's smooth lips setting gentle kisses along her neck. The blonde leaned her head back to expose her neck more, the kisses pulling light gasps from her lips as she closed her eyes.
Spadix still had her hands. She was pressed into her and wasn't letting go. Jin knew better than to try to take any control from her when the owl was trying to be forward and she didn't want to. While the dragon was a bit more of an energetic, dominant lover, there was nothing that filled her heart with warmth during play with her faunus more than when Spadix was leading with her tenderness. It might not give her that masochistic rush that the talons brought her but it did give her a different, more intimate, loving race to her heart. Jin couldn't describe it really. It was just different but just as good in its own pure, special way that lit her heart on fire and awakened every nerve in her body like electricity.
She felt the owl's thighs slide to either side of her and her lips trailing down her chest, her heart pounding against her ribs. "Spadix…" she moaned lightly, eyes opening and gleaming with desire.
The owl nuzzled her hot skin, hands releasing Jin's as she slid them down her arms and chest to her top. The taloned fingers gripped the fabric, pulling up gently over Jin's head, sliding it off her arms.
Jin left her hands above her head, knowing that's where her lover wanted them as her eyes watched Spadix. The owl took a breast into one hand, massaging it as she kissed the other, taking a hardening bud into her lips. The owl flushed but quickly gathered herself again, not wanting to lose her will. She hadn't really expected quite that answer. She was more expecting some sort of playful quip or joke but hearing Jin admit that this was something only she could bring made her heart swell and her courage grow a bit. She moved to kiss Jin passionately, the dragon responding in kind eagerly.

Jin stared at her confused, unsure why this had to come up right now, propping herself up on her elbows, "Um.. yes? Spadix, is this really the time? I mean… You are on top of me right now and you know how hard it is for me to focus when you are sitting there… Can we maybe talk about this later?"
Spaddix's cheeks flushed brightly and Jin's brow furrowed. She gently touched her hand, "Little bird… what's going on?"
Spadix fidgeted with Jin's shorts hem, staring down at them nibbling her own lip nervously, her courage leaving rapidly. Jin could feel the moment sinking and she almost whined but stopped herself. While she was going to die inside if this moment ended without coming to full completion, Spadix was so much more important than getting off. Spadix whispered, "I… if the moment was right I wanted to try something for my birthday with you… I know this is your favorite place for me to be… it's… mine too even if we are just cuddling. Jin watched her carefully, her own cheeks growing hot. 'Did she go to a sex shop? No damn way… her?! Wait a minute… this is her favorite too?!' Spadix reached for a box she had hidden behind some of her books. It was black, unlabelled. It wasn't very long but it was narrow and not very tall wrapped in a black ribbon. It was a deep golden color and had an interesting shade and texture to it that took Jin a moment to recognize. On the back end of the toy, it curved with a nubbed end and Jin recognized it to be a strapless strap-on toy.
In no time at all, it all clicked in her mind. She had seen the faunus focused shop herself a few times in town. They catered specifically to faunus patrons. Most of their toys were stylized to look like parts that the animal based traits might match as some faunus did actually carry those parts to match their traits. They carried things like tails and ears to match if you had the other appendages as well to complete a look if it tickled your fancy. They did also carry the basics of course but somehow, Jin did feel a bit special that Spadix thought that deeply into such an idea.
Knowing Spadix, she wasn't hunting after a kink of any kind. This was an intention to feel some sort of closeness with Jin in the most realistic manner she could. While dragon dick wasn't a thing, she did make an attempt at something reptilian though Jin did notice the slight knot shaping to it at the base of the penetrable end. Spadix felt Jin's touch over her hand, pulling it off her face before she felt the bed shift as Jin sat up to kiss her cheek. "Relax, Little bird, please. It's ok. You're ok," soothing words tickled against her cheek, Jin gently kissing her skin again.
Spadix breathed, trying to relax her nerves, "It's not…weird?"
Jin laughed sweetly, continuing to gingerly kiss her face, softly taking the toy from her and sliding the box to the floor, "No. No, I think it's sweet and I mean… so fucking hot but… I can see the thought you put into it. Now, give me this."
Spadix let go and Jin gently slid her back, about to wiggle out of her shorts before Spadix grabbed her hand, "W-wait… if you understand then… can you put it on… under those?"
Jin raised a brow at her nervous faunus but then smirked and nodded, "Ok but please don't push yourself. It's not like it's going anywhere."
She sat back, shifting her legs wide and sliding her shorts enough to maneuver beneath them, biting her lip with a gasp as she slipped the bulbed end into herself, easily sliding in with how wet she was from Spadix's earlier advances, and felt her own body hold the item in place, catching Spadix watching her.
She could see her owl regaining her courage and feeling her own slipping again and the excitement filling the air rapidly between them with such new, uncharted territory for both of them. For Spadix, finally being in a position with Jin where neither of them had ever been before felt comforting and reassuring, safer than anything else and she felt her confidence swell back into herself.
Gentle hands grabbed at Jin's ankles and she smiled, "You sure you are ok Spadix?"
When her legs were lightly but intently pulled towards the owl and making her lay back down, eliciting a soft moan as the toy shifted in its constraints at the motion, Jin got her answer. The owl placed herself back over Jin's lap, grinding softly down into the bulge, causing them to both let out a moan.
Jin caught sight of Spadix glancing down at her with a look in her eyes that Jin wasn't used to seeing from her timid lover. A hungry desire in those swirled orbs shone brightly in the moonlight like polished crystal catching sunlight that made Jin's spine tingle with anticipation.

She was glad it was the fall season and the window was still open because the fiery heat coming off Jin's body would be literally burning her, it was so hot otherwise. Spadix opened her eyes and looked at Jin, nuzzling her face, "I love you too."
Jin gently pulled away, Spadix squinting at the odd sensation as the knot and length left her body empty. Jin pulled the toy out of herself and got up on weak legs, stumbling to the bathroom. She cleaned it off before returning. She helped Spadix get dressed before pulling on her own clothes and putting the toy away, climbing into bed with the exhausted bird.
Spadix felt warm arms pull her close and smiled as gentle kisses painted the back of her neck and over the bites on her skin, pleasant cooing rumbling up from her throat from her soothed inner beast at the gesture and careful aftercare, "so… did you like it?"
Jin grinned, letting out a pleased breath, "Fuck yes. More than I ever thought I would but not an every time thing. I prefer the feel of your skin against mine more."
Spadix blushed and nodded, rolling to snuggle into Jin, her face tucking up into Jin's neck and breathing in her scent deeply. Jin held her close, both falling asleep easily.
