Summary: In the aftermath of the war, the New York Institute wants to strengthen its bonds to the local Downworlders by assigning permanent liaisons to each fraction. Jace becomes the liaison to the vampire clan and thus starts spending much more time with the mated Alpha clan-leader pair, Raphael and Simon. At the same time, he's come to the decision to start embracing his omega nature and get off the suppressants he'd been on his entire life.

How Jace Accidentally Got Two Sugar Daddies
Chapter 10: The Courting (2)
Simon hated meetings, they were the worst part of being a leader. Well, after paper-work, but he effectively handed all the paper-work off to his considerate and amazing mate, who could not deny Simon's puppy-dog-eyes. And okay, not all meetings were bad. Some were nice, with the clan. But when Simon knew that their Jace was just upstairs, in their suite, waiting for them?
"Slow down, amor," Raphael chuckled softly, tugging on Simon's hand.
"Can't! Jace is at our place, as our boyfriend," Simon argued, frowning at him. "Makes me feel… giddy. I get to have you all the time, we live together, I do not like that my other boyfriend is just… out there, away, not with us. So that he's here now makes me extra happy."
Raphael leaned in to kiss Simon's cheek gently, endeared by his mate. Though he had to admit that his thoughts had also drifted off to the Shadowhunter in their suite a couple times. When the two opened the door and entered their suite, there was no Jace. Not in the living room, not in the kitchen, they could see that on first glance due to the open space. The vampires exchanged a curious look before splitting up, Raphael checking the balcony and Simon knocking on the bathroom door. No answer. No Jace. Deflating, Simon went to grab Raphael's hand.
"You think he left because this took too long?"
"Perhaps he went downstairs to the bar," Raphael headed toward their bedroom. "You know that he has made surprisingly many friends among the clan. Let's get changed and then go and check."
Humming his agreement, Simon had to smile a little. Despite Jace claiming he wasn't fit to be the leaders' mate, he really had made many connections within the clan in the past months. There was a reason they had a betting pool going, because they did think Jace was a good fit for their leaders.
"Oh," Simon blinked a couple times. "Oh, that's adorable."
And they found their omega. Curled together on their bed, wearing Simon's sweatpants and one of Raphael's shirts, peacefully asleep. He looked so serene and Simon simply loved the way he looked on their bed like that, like he totally belonged there. Grinning, Simon tugged on Raphael's sleeve.
"You did tell him to feel right at home," Raphael chuckled softly. "And I suppose it makes sense. It's… quite late, for him, and he most likely worked all day."
"Sh," Jace groaned, curling together even tighter. "Stop talking."
"You're so cu—ute," Simon cooed.
With a glare, Jace sat up, his hair all messy. Hng. Simon was so gone on Jace. But in all fairness, hot and badass Jace was a view he was used to. Soft and domestic Jace was new and exciting.
"I see you made yourself comfortable," Raphael went to sit next to Jace.
Jace looked down himself and blushed faintly. "You… said I should… And the suit, it looks nice but it's not exactly comfortable for relaxing, so I figured I'd raid your closet. And after I got changed, I guess… I might have drifted off. I was hunting demons all day."
"I'm glad you feel that comfortable here," Raphael spoke sincerely. "I'm not teasing you, I mean it. We want you to feel comfortable in our home."
Jace relaxed and got more comfortable on the bed. "How did your meeting go?"
"Good, good," Simon waved a dismissive hand as he went to sit on Jace's other side. "Absolutely nothing compared to getting to cuddle you in our bed. That is where this is heading, yes?"
Jace huffed out a laugh at that. "Cuddling. Sure. Dork."
Despite his teasing words, Jace leaned against Simon. When Raphael scooted closer, close enough to be pressed against Jace's other side, it made Jace purr pleased too. Louder than before, much to Simon's delight. He looked over Jace's head at Raphael, grinning in excitement.
"There was something you wanted, angelito," Raphael spoke up after a few moments of silence.
"Ah, right," Jace cleared his throat looking somewhat embarrassed.
Huh. Simon frowned curiously. Not just embarrassed but also nervous. That was rare. The blonde reached over to where his discarded clothes laid and then got something out of his pocket.
"You spent… ridiculously much money on me."
"It's called courting, and like Raph keeps telling you, the money isn't an issue so why shouldn't we spent a lot on our omega?" Simon argued right away. "So stop worrying about that, okay?"
Jace rolled his eyes at Simon. "Yeah. Sure. Whatever. The point I was trying to get at was that it feels so one-sided that I keep getting stuff from you-"
"That's how courting works," Simon injected again, earning a glare. "Sorry, shutting up, just… That is how courting works, alphas get their chosen omegas gifts, it's supposed to be one-sided."
"Doesn't stop it from feeling weird to me though," Jace huffed and then held the box out. "Here."
"You… got us a courting gift?" Raphael looked from the box at Jace in surprise.
Omegas didn't get their alphas courting gifts. But then Jace had been raised against his nature, so why should he accept these traditions, after all he wasn't a traditional omega. There was a sense of warmth in Raphael's chest at that though. It made him feel… cherished. Hm.
"Y… You got us rings?" Simon sounded startled.
Raphael leaned in to look at the content of the box too. Two rings, each on a silver chain. He took one out, looking at the ring more closely. It was heavy, with an insignia on it. An H with herons on each side. His eyes widened in realization. Jace looked anxious about their reaction.
"Simon, those aren't just rings," Raphael's voice was soft. "That's the Herondale symbol."
Raphael reached out for Jace's neck, gently grasping the chain around it and pulling Jace's ring out from beneath his shirt. He knew about those from Isabelle, the old Shadowhunter families had these family rings, handed down from parents to children. Exclusive to family members.
"Oh," Simon's voice dropped, his mouth a little o. "I know those, Izzy has one, and Luke gave Clary one from Jocelyn, from the Fairchild family. These are like… a big deal in your society, for… members of your families, status and stuff."
"You didn't have to say that second part out loud, Simon," Jace sighed embarrassed. "I just… You got me the brooch, as a first courting gift, and it… It's like a claim. You wanted others to know that I'm protected by the clan, that I belong to you. So… I just… I want people to know that you are protected by me and that you belong to me."
"That… is very thoughtful of you," Raphael smiled as he put on the necklace. "Also possessive."
"What?" Jace huffed and grasped Raphael by the shirt to pull him close. "You think only alphas can be possessive? Oh, no. You are mine. And I want people to know that too."
Raphael smiled as he bridged the last bit for a real kiss. It was nice, seeing that their omega was as invested as them. Jace leaned against Raphael's chest, until he was practically laying on top of Raphael, with Raphael's arms around his waist, holding him close.
"That's so cute of you, you're so cute," Simon cooed.
He wrapped his arms around Jace from behind, snuggling up to him. Jace relaxed between the two of them, looking quite content. Raphael started running his fingers through Jace's hair. The three of them in bed together like this seemed like as good a time for this conversation as any, particularly after Jace had just made his own intentions quite clear.
"Thank you, for the gift," Raphael pressed a kiss to Jace's temple. "There is something we… something I want to talk to you about though, since we're all equally invested in this relationship."
"Sounds serious," Jace frowned at him. "What's up?"
"I'm asexual, Jace," Raphael sat up a little against the headboard, though Jace made no attempts to get off him, looking far too comfortable. "That means I don't experience sexual attraction."
Jace narrowed his eyes confused. "What does that mean?"
"Like, when you and I look at someone we're attracted to and get all horny for that specific person?" Simon motioned around between them. "I look at you and I really want to, uhm…"
"Yeah?" Jace raised his eyebrows, teasing smirk on his lips, resting a hand on Simon's chest. "Elaborate. What do you want to do with me, alpha?"
"That," Raphael cleared his throat. "That would be sexual attraction and I don't experience that. I… look at you two and I think you're gorgeous, but I don't feel that urge to have sex with you. With nobody, not just you. Some people who are asexual still have sex, for other reasons than being attracted to people. But I don't… I'm not interested in having sex."
"Huh," Jace blinked repeatedly, looking between the two alphas. "So you guys… never…"
"Nope," Simon shook his head. "I respect my mate's boundaries."
"Right, I mean, yeah," Jace frowned. "I don't know how to ask this without it sounding weird or wrong, I just… Sex is a really big part of… everything, for me. I've never had a romantic relationship, I only ever had one-night-stands. I don't really know… how that works without sex."
"That's okay," Raphael reassured him. "We knew you're new to romantic relationships, nothing changed on that front. And… the two of you can still have sex with each other."
Jace looked at him curiously. "But you don't want sex? At all?"
"It's… unappealing to me," Raphael was still playing with Jace's hair. "Though Simon and I have found our own way around it, since Simon does have these desires."
"Tell me more?" Jace tilted his head curiously.
"Well, I, uh, I usually jerk off and Raph tells me what to do?" Simon looked incredibly flustered, rubbing his neck. "You know, tell me where to touch, when to do something, when to come."
"So Raph's your dom," Jace nodded. "Okay. Interesting. Didn't think you were into that."
"Mh," Raphael looked at him intrigued. "And how would you feel about that? I enjoy the control, I've been a dom for years before I met Simon. And Simon likes that I'm involved, to an extend."
"I've subbed before," Jace shrugged. "I like it. I… wouldn't mind being told what to do by you, Raph. But it's good to know you don't… do sex. I'm impulsive, I wouldn't want to have you pinned against a wall while you don't like that."
"That's why I wanted to talk about it before we got too deep into… this."
When Jace frowned, Simon pecked his cheek. "Raph was kind of afraid that this may be a… deal-breaker for you, since sex seems to be important to you."
"I mean yeah it is," Jace shrugged. "Because I never did more than that. But… I like just spending time with you, I'm not used to that either. But you guys are offering me… something I never had and I want that. If Raph doesn't like sex, we're not having sex. I wouldn't want to have sex with someone who doesn't want sex either. But… you… would still be up for sex, right Si?"
"I mean, yeah," Simon ruffled his hair. "I… would like to have sex with you. Uhm. At one point. We were only on one date and we also want to show you that we want you as our mate and I feel like, especially with you, it's important to show you that we want you for you, not for your body."
"Ri—ight," Jace laid down between the two of them. "Can I stay the night? Your night and my night? Because I like this, right here. And I have tomorrow off, so I could just sleep then."
"You are always welcome here," Raphael wrapped an arm around Jace. "We like having you here too. You should have seen how giddy Simon was when we got out of that meeting."
"Hey," Simon glared, deeply flustered. "Don't rat me out to our boyfriend like that."
"But it was so endearing," Raphael laughed and pressed a kiss to the top of Simon's head.
Jace between them smiled softly as he watched them until he drifted off to sleep.

Jace woke up feeling very, very well-rested. He was also a little cold though, because both his boyfriends were vampires. Cold skin, no body-heat. Shuddering softly, Jace sat up and stretched. He looked over at the clock, noticing that it was around three PM, which meant his boyfriends deserved another couple hours of sleep, but also that Jace had slept long enough.
Leaning down, he kissed Simon and Raphael on the temple, before he got out of bed. Since he was feeling cold, he figured he could waste some time in a nice, hot bath with a good book. That sounded like heaven right now. So he went to first plunder the book-shelf and then head to the bathroom. After putting the book down on the little table next to the bathtub, he paused.
There were candles in the bathroom that hadn't been there when he'd taken a shower here last time. Taking one, he sniffed it. Cherry scented. He took another candle and realized that was chocolate scented. Going over to the shelves, he checked to find a brand-new, unopened bottle of bubble bath and… a glass-jar with dried rose petals. Jace felt himself blushing. Had those two dorks seriously bought everything he had jokingly listed last time, when Raph had asked him if he wanted a shower or a bath? Everything he did love during a bath. And they hadn't known he'd stay over tonight, so they hadn't specifically bought it for today. They just… bought it and kept it for the occasion when Jace would want to take a bath at their place.
Shaking his head fondly, Jace went ahead and drew himself a bath. He lit the candles, undressed himself and folded his clothes – well, Raph and Si's clothes – neatly, before climbing into the large tub. A content sigh left his lips as he slipped into the hot water. This was perfect.
He had a lot to think about. Giving them the Herondale rings, he had hoped they didn't fully know what it meant. It was supposed to be subtle. Izzy had made them for Jace, because he wanted that claim too, he loved the brooch, loved feeling like he was theirs, and he wanted them to be his too. Even if he was still doubtful about being courted, about becoming someone's mate, he knew that he wanted them to be his. He was glad they had accepted the rings though.
Another thing that occupied his mind was Raphael's asexuality. Jace had never heard about that before. And he was still a bit unsure about it. Not about Raphael's boundaries, those he fully accepted, but what it meant. This whole concept of sexual attraction that Simon had tried to explain didn't make a lot of sense to Jace, but neither did not wanting to have sex. This was so confusing.

Simon couldn't sleep anymore. It was hours before sundown, but he was also a Daylighter so his schedule was a bit more wonky than a usual vampire's. He knew Jace was with them though and he should be awake, so Simon didn't want to waste their potential time together by being asleep.
"He—ey," Simon whispered softly, smiling as he entered the living room. "You look cozy."
Jace was curled up on the couch, wearing Simon's comfort hoodie, a fluffy blanket wrapped around his shoulders while reading a book. When hearing Simon's voice, Jace turned to look at him. Simon could really get used to this. To Jace in their home, especially after just having woken up. Being greeted by his boyfriend looking so cute. His smile grew as he headed over to Jace to sit next to him and pull the blonde close enough to kiss him. Jace made a pleased little noise and snuggled up to him. Mh. Jace was very cuddly these days. Was it because they were now officially dating?
"You dorks didn't seriously buy bubble bath and scented candles just for me, right?"
"Of course we did," Simon huffed, puffing his chest out just a little bit. "Because you listed that stuff way too quickly so we assumed, hopefully we were right with that too, that you actually like it. And, again, we do want you to feel at home here too, that includes providing stuff you like."
Heaving a sigh, Jace shook his head, but he did give Simon a gentle kiss. "Thank you. And yes. I… do like these things. I've really developed a weakness for a good, relaxing bath while living with Magnus. You guys… are really trying to show me you're invested in this, huh."
All Simon did was grin proudly and kiss Jace's temple. "Ye—ep. We are courting you. Because we love you and want you as our omega, as our mate."
His fingers wandered to the chain around his own neck, to play with the ring. The very important ring that Jace had given him and Raph. The very important ring that Simon was going to treasure.
"So—o, you said you have today off. Do you have any plans?"
"Mh," Jace tilted his head, leaning against Simon's shoulders. "Grace has been asking me to go out with her and her omega friends and I kept having to bail due to work."
The smile on Simon's lips grew at that. The fact that Jace didn't even seem to realize what he was doing, that he was bonding with the omegas of the clan, like the clan Omega would do. But Simon thought they shouldn't tell him just yet. Let him bond some more, so Jace would feel comfortable and safe in the bonds he'd formed, before making him aware of this.
"You seem very affectionate today," Simon laughed when Jace nuzzled his neck. "And you smell so good, like, how do you smell even more yummy?"
Simon in return buried his own face in Jace's neck, inhaling deeply. And his fangs didn't pop! He had mastered control over his fangs even when faced with the most delicious omega. Jace huffed softly, but he just snuggled closer against the alpha, purring once again. That sound, Simon was very quickly coming to love that sound, especially knowing that it meant Jace was happy.
"You two paint a beautiful picture together."
They turned toward the bedroom door, watching a smiling Raphael join them. He first went to the kitchen to get coffee going before he came to join them, sitting down next to Simon – on whose lap Jace was sitting at this point – and kissed both his boyfriends gently.
"Hey, why are you already awake? You still have some hours before sunset."
Raphael smiled at Jace at that. "I noticed I was all alone in bed, and I thought I shouldn't miss out on our precious time of having you here, with us, angelito."
Ducking his head, Jace stretched out to rest his feet in Raphael's lap, also claiming the other alpha as his seat. The vampires exchanged a small smile at how affectionate their omega was.
"I like when you call me that," Jace admitted ever so softly.
"Yeah?" Raphael looked pleased by that. "I like calling you that. You are our angel."
Tilting his head, Jace unglamoured his wings at that and wrapped them around both of his alphas. Wrapping them up in his wings, in a possessive manner. That was felt by both vampires, though Raphael simply relished in the warmth and softness and scent of those beautiful wings.
"You smell wonderfully," Raphael noted with a curious look.
Simon motioned around a little. "That's what I said too!"
"It's just because I took a shower," Jace huffed and rolled his eyes. "You guys aren't used to smelling me all clean and not sweaty and covered in demon grime. Or smelling me this close."
"Mh, not wrong," Raphael tilted his head, burying his nose in soft wings. "We haven't had the privilege of holding you this close before. Though I think I can safely speak for the both of us when I say that we would happily get used to this."
Jace hummed at that, which seemed like confirmation. Raphael reached out to take Simon's hand. This was real. He had not one but two people he loved who loved him back, who accepted him, accepted his asexuality. He'd had bad experiences in the past, lovers who didn't understand – didn't want to understand – and thought they could 'fix' him, or who felt like a romantic relationship with him wasn't worth it if they couldn't also have sex with him. These things, they had made him shut himself off, had made him consider that maybe, he would stay alone forever.
And then this loud, rambling, excitable fledgling vampire had stumbled into his life and had challenged everything that Raphael had thought so far. For the first time in too many years, Raphael felt loved and happy. The only obstacle to him was that his mate had feelings for another. Truly, he could not even have begun to imagine that that 'obstacle' would become someone he would love too, someone who would love him too.
A soft, warm smile spread over Raphael's lips as he leaned into his mate and his chosen mate, pulling them both closer. His, the both of them. His happiness.
Author's note: Look at Jace, being cute and thoughtful! Also, I am currently considering having Jace come out as ace in this fic, prompted by a comment on the last chapter. Thoughts?
Neeext chapter, Jace gets to bond with the omegas and have a good time! Nothing could possibly go wrong there! :3
