Tangled in a Spicy Dancing Spiderweb
"This is so weird, am I the only one who thinks this is weird?" Pinkie asked as they're driving in Jessica's car.
"No, we feel the same way. All the places we visited so far said almost the same story about one guy buying every hot sauce, leaving the stores to out of them almost immediately." Sunset said.
"Not only that, but they all mention the spiderwebs on the buy who either said that his house has gotten "dusty" and forgot to clean up or knock down some spiders and there was one excuse about getting ready for Halloween." Rarity added.
"He better hopes it's not the second now." Fluttershy said looking a bit angry.
"There were also some other things the witnesses said like how they asked the buyer if he can handle all that spicy stuff, and they heard him said "it's what I live for" in those words." Flash mentioned.
"Hmm, there's definitely something off going on and this hot buyer is at the center of this whole case." Jessica stated.
"I think we should try finding a place with a lot of spiderwebs." Flash suggested.
"You think so?" Pinkie asked.
"Think about it, wherever this guy lives must have a place with lots of spiderwebs to have some stuck on his clothes and were we can find all the hot spicy product too." Flash pointed out.
"Great way of thinking, Flash." Rarity complimented.
"But where can we even find a place like that? It could be anywhere in the city." Rainbow Dash asked.
"Hmm, that is a good question." Applejack agreed with Rainbow Dash on that.
"Actually, it might not be that hard if we use the right bait." Twilight said.
"I see, we go to one of the shops that still have some hot sauce product and use leave it in the open for the spicy buyer to come and take it, then we follow him to his lair." Sunset grinned, understanding the plan.
"And just in case we happen to lose him, we can follow him with this tracking device I made for such an occasion." Twilight showed the tracking device in her hand.
"She made the same one for me in case I ran off too far and gotten lost." Spike admitted.
"Now all we need to do is find anything spicy, hot enough to burn your tongue, kind of sauce in order to capture the culprit." Twilight said.
Just as Twilight said that, Rainbow Dash notice something odd when they past an alleyway and her eyes widen shock on what she just saw.
"Stop the car!" Rainbow Dash shouted.
Jessica immediately hit the brakes causing the wheels to push with sliding the car forward a few feet and the backside flip up a bit, and that causes Rainbow Dash to be launched out of the car though she made an epic landing.
"I just saw something you're gonna have to see for yourself!" Rainbow Dash pointed at the alleyway.
Everyone exit the car and follow Rainbow Dash into the alleyway, and what they saw was certainly not what they were expecting to find.
"What in tarnation am I looking at?" Applejack asked.
"Fluttershy?" Sunset said.
"Yes." Fluttershy responded.
"Exactly how many spiders does it take to make something this BIG!" Sunset gestured at the alleyway.
The alleyway is filled with spiderwebs and there are a lot of them around within the alleyway and they are also bigger too, big as a large bed size bedsheet or other large things that are tangled in the same area.
"Huh, I'd believe it would hundreds of thousands of spiders to make all of that… or more." Fluttershy said, feeling very nervous of the sight.
"Please don't tell me we have to walk through all of that?" Rarity scared, not wanting a single web in her hair.
"I don't think so, but it is something to look into. Surprise this involves spider creatures again." Jessica said.
"You tangled with spider monsters that can make big webs like these?" Pinkie asked.
"Yep, it was a nasty situation with those guys, and they would make use of their webs to force people into becoming their puppets for fun." Jessica explained.
"Did they also like spicy things?" Fluttershy asked.
"No, not the ones I know of, but now that you mention it. I do remember one of them mentioned about another spider guy who likes to think of himself as hot." Jessica recalled that little talk from them.
"Well, I hope those guys weren't in a hot place because it's starting to feel warm in here." Pinkie fanned herself with a fan from her hair.
"Come now, Pinkie Pie, the weather is perfectly fine today." Rarity said.
"Actually, I do feel a little bit warn, and it gets warmer too." Sunset noticed how her body feels right now.
"Woo-wee, I'm starting to feel like a sudden rising in heat just came down on us." Applejack gasped and fans herself with her hat.
"Do you think it has something to do with these webs?" Spike walked closer to one of the webs holding out one paw at the web, but then suddenly jump in pain and moves away.
"Ouchy, that's hot!" Spike yelled.
"Spike! Are you okay?" Twilight asked worry.
"Yeah, those webs were really hot that it's making my paw feel extra sizzing." Spike answered, looking at his paw looking red for a moment until it gone back to normal.
"And the weird part is that I haven't even touch it." Spike added.
Flash decided to try testing this out himself and held out his hand toward the webs then started to feel some heat increasing the more he gets closer to one, hotter still until he pulls his hand back.
"He's right, these webs are really hot." Flash said.
"Okay, so we got some super-heated webs in an alleyway that could burn us if we touch them, I'm starting to see this might be connected to the hot sauce buyer." Sunset said.
"If only there was a way to take a sample of this to see what we're dealing with." Twilight looked at the webs around.
"Hmm, I might have something in the car that can help us." Jessica went back to the car and open the trunk.
Jessica looks through some stuff inside hoping that it's inside here otherwise they would have to go back to the office and get it there, but luckily for Jessica, they don't have to make the trip like that because she found what she was looking for.
"Okay, these should do the trick." Jessica revealed a pair of oven mitts.
"Oven mitts? I thought it was gonna be something else like a crystal and that freeze things into ice or a magic item that can suck in all those webs." Rainbow Dash complained.
"I don't have any of those crystals on me at the moment, and I kind of had a bad experience with a sucking magic item that I do not want to use one again." Jessica shivered from the memories of the sucking magic item.
"But these oven mitts will work perfect for this situation because they are made with some metal that are resistant to heat with magic enhancement for them to withstand the heat of over 9,000-degree Fahrenheit." Jessica explained about the gloves.
"What? Over 9,000?!" Pinkie gasped.
"I always wanted to do that Dragon Ball Z refence." Pinkie giggled.
"Now, I just need to gently snap the sample without making it wiggle." Jessica said as she approached the web.
"Hey gentle?" Applejack asked.
"Because shaking the web can alert the spider who makes the web like this one." Fluttershy answered on the spider knowledge she knows.
"Exactly, and if we're right about this then our culprit might be that very spider." Jessica nodded.
Jessica carefully touches the web twisting her fingers on the thread making it slowly snap off in two for a moment and then took out the bottom part of the webbing.
"Okay, we got our sample now to test out what we're dealing with." Jessica said as she held the web sample.
"Pinkie, the book please." Jessica requested.
"You got it!" Pinkie pulled out a book from her hair.
"What's that?" Rarity asked.
"Oh, Jessica showed us this one day when we all had our day off. It's a magical encyclopedia that can tell us anything about magic and monsters, any knowledge you seek in the magical world of the supernatural will be in this book." Sunset explained.
"Any knowledge, you say." Twilight interested in that book.
Jessica opens the book and place the web on the page, the book glows for three seconds to know about this web and the pages flips on their own until it stops at one page showing a picture of a humanoid spider creature with flaming hairstyle and the spider butt having fire design.
"Aw, so that's what we're dealing with." Jessica said.
"Spicy Spider, spider Demihumans that are known for always enjoying the heated environments and weather, they like to see things that are very spicy even for human to handle with enough heating building up inside their bodies that can make their webs hot to barely being touch." Jessica read the information about this spider creature.
"Now we know our spider guy." Flash said.
"Then it's time we lay out our bait." Pinkie smiled and pulls out a bottle.
"This is my very own special hot sauce I always use whenever I feel in the mood for eating and feeling hot." Pinkie explained.
"Perfect." Jessica smiled.
(20 Minutes Later)
After placing the bottle of hot sauce on the hot webs and pull it like a guitar string hoping to alert the Spicy Spider to come here, they are hiding in the car with an invisibility feature so they can't be seen.
"He better gets here or else I'm going to tear down all that web for making me wait for so long." Rainbow Dash whispered.
"I might actually let you because those kinds of webs would NOT be a good home for any spiders." Fluttershy nodded.
"Hold on, I think I see something." Rarity pointed at the right and up.
They see a hooded figure on top of a building looking down at the heated webs seeing the hot sauce bottle, he smiles and starts walking vertical on the wall and on the webs as he grabs the bottle.
"Oh yeah, another hot item for my collection." The hooded figure smiled and moved away from the alleyway.
"Now we tail him!" Twilight said as she looks at her phone seeing the tracking device is working.
Jessica changes the shift of the gear and drove the car to follow the direction of the tracking device that will help them crack this case wide open, though it was a little hard with the guy moving from rooftop to rooftop.
But minutes later, they were able to follow the hooded man at one old looking big house that's almost like a mansion seeing him jump through one open window like a very skilled acrobat.
"He went into that house." Sunset said.
"Be careful, we don't know if that spicy fiend has any trap inside for any intruders." Jessica advised as they exit the car.
"Twilight can clear the webs away with her magic, but I'm worried about how hot it's going to be once we get inside." Spike concerned of the heat.
"That is going to be a problem, if only we can keep ourselves cool until we arrested the mean spider man." Fluttershy tried to think of something, but nothing came into mind.
"Maybe these little cooldown patch can help." Jessica showed some patches.
"These babies can cool down our body temperatures down by 25-30 degrees, but we have to be careful because the heat might still be hot in there." Jessica warned as she hands each one a patch including Spike.
"Cool!" Rainbow Dash impressed.
Soon, the Equestrian Detectives went inside the old house carefully opening the door where there are a lot more webs inside than the ones in the alleyway, Twilight leads the way using her magic to careful move the webs way for them to walk through and saw something glowing at the end of the living room which might be the kitchen.
They arrived at the kitchen area where they started to feel the heat radiating that is making them feel like it's the hottest day of the summer even though it's not even close to summer yet.
"Oh man, do these Spicy spiders really like the heat this much?" Rainbow Dash asked, feeling sweaty.
"I don't know, but I think the warmth itself is giving us all the answers for that." Applejack panted a little and fanning herself with her hat.
"All this heat is really going to mess up my hair." Rarity complained.
"Quiet, I think I hear someone." Jessica said whispering.
They peak over the corner looking into the kitchen to see there's a giant hole in the middle of the kitchen with one spider man matching the appearance in the magic book, laughing loud and dumping all the spicy stuff it had brought down into the glowing hole with steam coming out as well.
"Oh yeah, it's all coming together so well. I can feel the heat, and that heat is going to make me the hottest spider in the whole world, both as handsome and literally hot!" The Spicy Spider smirked.
"Buying off all this spicy stuff from this town sure was worth the shopping day as I am very close to the ideal spicy level, and I
"And it's gonna be me who will always be the hottest once I've taken all the spicy stuff from this town just like how I did with the other towns, nobody is gonna get in my way with my heat!" Spicy Spider bragged on.
"So, does that mean you'll let me go?" Pipsqueak asked, being tied up in webs.
"Pipsqueak?!" The magic detectives gasped.
"No way, you hogged the hot sauce from that taco place I was at and kept it from me. Now you must pay the price." Spicy Spider glared angrily at the boy.
"P-Please, I didn't even order any hot sauce for the tacos. Let me go!" Pipsqueak begged, crying with his sweats.
"You're lucky that I didn't make my webs hot to melt you whole because now I have an audience to witness my hot ascension!" Spicy Spider excitedly looking over at the pit.
"We got to save Pipsqueak and fast!" Flash said.
"Obviously, but I'm not sure if we can handle all that heat as we're already sweating like crazy from here." Rainbow Dash pointed out.
"Hmm, Jessica, do these cool patches have any downside?" Sunset asked.
"If you put on too much of the patch on your body when you'll feel colder than 50 below zero and your body would freeze like ice." Jessica explained.
"Then it's time we gave that spider a cooling time." Sunset grinned.
"Now I'll drink all that spicy goodness, and all will be hot for me!" Spicy Spider smirked.
"Not our watch!" Sunset shouted as the Equestrian Detectives came out of hiding.
"What the… Who the fuck are you guys?" Spicy Spider gasped of the sudden intruders.
"Guys!" Pipsqueak smiled.
"It's time that someone taught you to be cool with everyone." Rarity glared at the fiery spider.
"Oh, you think you can walk in and ruin my spicy time? I don't think so!" The Spicy Spider turned around firing his webs at the detectives.
Everyone dodges the webs and avoids the spicy pit hole as they charge in and each throwing some punches and strikes, but each touch is very hot that they burn themselves from the heat though they wouldn't give up that easy. Rainbow Dash uses her superfast to blitz strike the guy from every direction until he smacks her away with his spider legs.
"You fools can't handle my heat!" Spicy Spider pointed out.
"No, but we can cool you down." Fluttershy said pointing at her butt, gesturing for the Spicy Spider to look at his.
Spicy Spider was confused as he turns around and his eyes widen after seeing dozens and dozens of cool patches on his spider butt, and he also notices there are more of them on his face and arms too.
"No! My heat rising glory!" Spicy Spider shouted and tries to go to the heated pit, but then his body starts to slow down and turning ice with frost fog coming out of his body then he fell into the spicy pit which causes a burst of steam coming out.
Everyone looks down seeing the Spicy Spider groaning in pain and the pit completely empty of all the hot sauce and such, and the dude is out cold.
"Thanks for saving me, guys. I thought I was be burned alive." Pipsqueak thanked as they leave the house.
"No problem, we'll be sure to have this fella locked up where he can do some cooling time." Applejack smiled.
"Better get home before your parents worried." Rarity advised, Pipsqueak nodded and ran for home.
"Man, I didn't think this case would be too hot to handle." Rainbow Dash commented.
"But we were able to save the day and saved a life too." Flash nodded, but he gasps upon seeing all the girls including his wives are so sweaty that their clothes became a little transparent.
KO a new chapter is done and hope you all enjoy it!
The group were able to find out who the hot sauce taking culprit is and taken him down using some patches to cool him down literally, but now everyone will finally be able to cool off from this heated case and those who love spicy things can enjoy them again.
