Trixie
2 hours earlier: Brisbane Hospital
Shaun was in the break room with Luci the Shiba Inu. The break room had glowing light bulbs around, all connected to a line. There were also posters to most morals, some of kittens, others of smiling dogs giving a thumbs up. Shaun and the Shiba were in the middle of the room sitting around a round table. It was quiet; Shaun was going through a copy of the paper that he sent to headquarters, making sure everything was correct. Luci had her head on the table, waiting for the German Shepherd to say something.
"You really think this is a new type of cancer?" Luci asked the monochrome German shepherd, Shaun took one last look at the paperwork.
"There isn't any other explanation… but honestly I'm just as confused; I just want this case to open again. There really should be a more deep investigation on Chilli Heeler," Shaun said, closing the folder. "We need to perform as many tests as possible."
That was when the Shiba Inu's ears perked up as she was always interested in the Chilli Heeler case. She knew that Shaun was involved in it, but she never wanted to bother him about it, worried that she could strike a nerve. However… since he was talking about it right now, she might as well ask.
"So….. What happened on that day; I saw you on TV when it happened," she wagged her tail; Shaun looked up at her a bit surprised that she asked the question. He looked away for a second remembering that day before he looked back at the Shiba Inu, placing his hand on his chin.
"Well It was 3 years ago. I was working with the red heeler. At first, she showed symptoms of cancer, but it was the normal kind. The kind all of us had already discovered and expected. She had a brain tumor that caused mood swings. After an incident with a few family members, she started to…. act differently. Almost a little feral. She bit her own tongue off, and was abnormally pale. She tried to bite every dog around her. So we had to put a muzzle on her mouth. The next day, her husband came in to see her. Yet, for some reason, the police got involved in some weird murder incident involving him though he turned out innocent. They arrested me too and took us out of the room. Then she escaped from the handcuffs she was in and killed one of the guard dogs, ripping his organs out. The police officers started to shoot back at the red heeler, but no matter how many bullets they shot into her, she didn't go down. She was about to rip this mastiff's neck out, but… her husband shot her."
His expression was bare and unmoved.
The Shiba Inu was shocked when she heard how everything went down during that day. But she had never heard it in this much detail.
"You wanna know something crazy? I was testing the tumor's liquid from when I added sugar to it. Apparently, it was a natural steroid that the body grows within, which made the red heeler abnormally strong. It just doesn't make sense; none of this is normal. That's why we need to study this," Shaun said, slamming the paperwork down; even the German Shepherd was stressed out.
"Do you think it's contagious?" The Shiba Inu asked, causing the black and white dog to give her a confused look, which turned into concern. "No, cancer isn't contagious… I mean if that were the case, then any dog that was in contact with her should have shown symptom-"
BOOM
There was a loud thunder strike just outside near the building; Shaun and the Shiba Inu covered both of their ears. They opened their eyes surprised to see that the light was off, but the lightbulbs were still on. It was weird, but they both ignored it.
"The power is out, we should go check up on the patients on our floor," The Shiba Inu said as she walked up to another table and grabbed 2 pieces of paper with names of patients on the 4th floor. Shaun nodded and grabbed the other piece of paper. The hospital had backup power, but it was only for electronics that patients were using to keep them alive.
They both walked out of the break room and stood in the middle of 3 halls. Shaun looked down at the piece of paper; the rooms he had to check were down in the main hall. That meant Luci had to check the 2 other halls. They headed their separate ways. Shaun grabbed his phone from his pocket and turned on his light. He opened the first door and checked up on an old labrador who was sleeping during the whole thunderstorm. Shaun closed the door and walked up to the next room and saw a young bulldog on his phone. He waved at the German Shepherd and Shaun waved back. He closed the door and skipped a few rooms since they were empty. He looked down at the paperwork to see the next room he had to check, stopping when he stood beside the door. Shaun stood there for a minute reading the name of the patient in the room.
Trixie Heeler
Yet that wasn't what caught his eye. He flipped the paperwork and read her file case.
Trixie IceCream Heeler:
-Trixie Heeler was a blue heeler that was rushed to the hospital 2 days ago on account of coughing up blood and having horrible headaches.
Symptoms
-severe headaches
-husband had said she had been having anger issues
- random, violent outbursts
-The blue heeler has complained of being dehydrated.
Test
-Last night the blue heeler was suspected to have a brain infection. She had taken an x-ray test shortly after.
The German shepherd slowly flipped the page, That was when he felt something he never felt in decades, Pure fear. It was an x-ray of the blue heeler's brain. There were 12 tumors in her brain, and they looked bigger than the ones Chilli had 3 years ago.
Shaun put his hand on the handle, turning it, and opening the door. The lights were off and the room was dark. He couldn't see anything but what he could see was the bed and it was unoccupied.
BOOM
Lighting stuck close to the hospital, It had brought light into the room. In the far left corner stood a white pale blue heeler, facing the corner. She was twitching and dripping blood and saliva from her mouth; she made unnatural noises. Shaun, horrified by the scene, slowly closed the door. He let the handle go and grabbed his key, locking the door. He moved back from the door and began to run as fast as he could down the hall.
BAM
The door was at least 3 inches thick, but that didn't matter as it shattered to pieces on the ground. It was in slow motion for the monochrome German Shepard. He turned his head around and saw the white heeler on all fours, hitting the edge of the wall. What caught his eye the most wasn't the blood coming out of her mouth or the shattered pieces of wood in the ground… No, it was the piercing glare from the glowing eyes that stared dead at the German Shepherd. There were no pupils, it was all white.
"RRRRAAAAHHHHHHHHHH"
The white heeler let out an eerie scream as she continued to run on all fours towards the scared dog. She was starting to get close to him; his adrenaline was kicking and he was going as fast as he could. Yet… she was getting closer and closer to him every second.
BAM
Shaun looked back to see that the white heeler was no longer running towards him; instead, there were 2 metal doors shut in front of him. Luci had locked out the blue heeler. The metal doors were there when they had to lock down the building.
THUMP
THUMP
THUMP
The metal doors now had bumps. The white heeler was trying to get in and she kept on trying for a few seconds. Finally, it stopped. Shaun got up from the floor trying his best to catch his breath.
"Dr Shaun, are you okay?!" Luci yelled getting back from the door; Shaun got up still looking scared, not taking his eyes off the door.
THUMP
The ceiling broke and Trixie fell to the ground, trying to attack the 2 dogs. She couldn't. She was trapped in wires from the ceiling, moving around and attempting to chew through them. Shaun looked to his side and saw a fire hose that would only be used if there was a fire. The German Shepherd had a new use for it. He ran up, grabbed the hose, and turned the wheel to start the water. He pointed the hose at the trapped white heeler, turning the lever that released a strong force of water. Trixie was slammed onto the wall and Shaun kept on spraying her. Luci ran up beside the German shepherd. The water then got weaker; it was running out. Shaun threw the hose on the ground and ran towards the breakroom, Luci on his tail. She turned her head towards the white heeler. Trixie was being electrocuted by the wires she bit down with all her force; she was grabbing her lower jaw and digging into her skin. It looked like she was having a seizure.
Shaun and Luci made it to the breakroom. The lights were still off, but he quickly ran to a medium-sized box on the wall. He opened it and grabbed an axe that was used just in case of a fire.
BAM
The door burst open and Shaun saw the white heeler jump in the darkness of the room. He thought he would be able to see her with her glowing eyes. This wasn't the case, as he found the room to be pitch black. Shaun kept his guard up, holding the axe in a striking position. Luci was behind him, holding his shoulder; she didn't have any weapon and was pretty much vulnerable. Shaun slowly turned around the room waiting, just in case the heeler would attack. He turned to the middle of the room where the glowing orbs were still at. He then looked at two particular orbs that were brighter than the others. Shaun squinted his eyes at it, and they started to move.
"RAAAHHHHHH"
Trixie ran up to the German Shepherd; Shaun was ready. He swung his axe down at the white heeler. There was a loud crunch and Shaun still had the axe handle in hand. The blade was deep in the white heeler's brain; Trixie was in a frozen position. Her head was split in half. Trixie walked back, losing a bit of control of her body. Luci, however, was frozen in fear; the sight was just too much for her. She had never seen anything like this… How could any dog be able to move with a whole piece of metal in her brain? But what horrified her the most was when she stared straight into Trixie's eyes; it was a pale bright yellow. But then her eye rotated upwards, revealing the white heeler's pupil. Her eye then rotated backwards and she began to run directly to the Shiba Inu. Trixie jumped using all her leg muscles, and landed on Luci.
CRASH
However, what the white heeler didn't know was that Luci was behind a window. And when she landed on Luci, she pushed her on the window causing it to crash. The 2 dogs screamed as they headed down on the hard concrete, making a loud crunching sound. Shaun ran to the broken window as rain poured into the room. He saw the two female dogs on the floor lying dead… Luci had her eyes wide open, in a permanently shocked face.
"No… no," Shaun said, feeling grief for the young Shiba Inu. She was barely in her 20s; she just started her career as a doctor. Now, she laid dead beside the dog that killed her.
"RRRRRRRRRRR"
It was not possible, the white heeler with a split face stood up on all fours and shook her head. She slowly went up to the dead dog beside her, opened her mouth, and began to eat the organs of the dead dog, ripping the skin off her stomach and then eating her intestines. What shocked the German Shepherd was when the head of the white heeler regenerated. Soon she was back to normal, but she had a large, noticeable scar on the top of her head. Trixie then grabbed the Shiba Inu by her foot and dragged her down a storm drain. Shaun couldn't do anything, he was just left to ponder on what to do, horrified.
PRESENT
Dougie was in his mother's car and Miranda was driving in the rain, heading to the Heeler house. Dougie told her that Bingo had just recently returned home. He begged his mother to go to the heeler house, even though it was late. It has been a full week since he last saw the little heeler. He was on his tablet texting Bingo, and Miranda looked in the mirror to see her young son. The way he smiled at just texting her made her happy. She was joyful that he had a friend, even though she was a biter. Miranda was driving up to the hill where she and her family lived. She was slowing down her car when she saw Bandit holding back a chow-chow who looked like she was trying to beat another blue heeler in front of her. It weirded out the brown cavapoo, but she parked her car to the side and put her rain jacket on. Dougie looked up from his tablet and did the same as her mother; she got out of the car and walked in the rain. Dougie followed her; she was slowly walking up to the whole situation.
Wendy then kicked the blue heeler in the shin and kicked him in the face. Miranda covered her mouth, shocked by what she saw. The female cavapoo ran up to the blue heeler with her son following her.
"Bandit, are you okay?" She said this to the blue heeler as she picked him up. "I'm alright; it's just some friendly discussion." Bandit joked as he felt his bruised jaw. Miranda looked up at the blue heeler and the chow-chow. They stared at each other, feeling something that the brown cavapoo probably wouldn't understand.
Inside the Heeler house, Brandy was in Bandit's bedroom, throwing her blue niece in the air and catching her. She was, however, tired. Bluey was no longer 7; she weighed a lot more.
"Alright, kid, I think I'm tired," Brandy said as she laid Bluey by her side. Bluey was giggling as she hugged her aunt. "Aunty Brandy, what do I call you now since you're with my dad? Maybe I should call you...aunty...mum?" Bluey said, looking up at her aunt. Brandy smiled and played with the blue heeler's hair. But then a realization hit her. Even though she and Bandit were together, that didn't mean it could last forever. They could start fighting and getting into arguments. Arguments could turn into fights, and fights could lead them to break apart from each other.
"Well, I mean, it's too early to call me mum... I mean, I like it if I'm honest, but maybe give it a few years when me and your dad are ready to get married, and that's only if it happens." The red heeler said this as she gave Bluey an awkward smile. Making the blue heeler a bit sad as she dropped her ears.
"Well, I think it will happen. Aunt Brandy, you and Dad have been friends for a very long time, and you practically live here with us." Bluey said as she regained hope. Brandy then looked up to the ceiling, feeling a bit of the same hope Bluey had. Her niece was right; she was practically with Bandit for 3 years, always helping him when he needed it. And he always visited her on the weekends with the kids; maybe there was a chance they could be together. "Maybe you're right, Bluey." Brandy said, smiling and hugging the blue heeler. They both wagged their tails happily together.
But what they didn't know was that a small red heeler was looking at them from the corner of the room's door. Seeing how happy her sister and aunt were in bed, normally Bingo would be mad, but she wasn't. She didn't want to be mad anymore; she had gone through so much stuff, and all she wanted was peace. She still didn't like the idea of her aunt dating her dad; it just felt wrong. Bingo looked down at her Australian bandana that the gray dog gave her. She has never taken it off since she was given it. It was a horrible reminder of what Maria's daughter was wearing when Bingo caused her death. She could have thrown it away and never seen it again, but she didn't; she wanted to keep it with her. She never wanted to forget that day. Bingo twitched as she thought of the scene of the dead pit bull. Bingo took a deep breath and let it all out. She walked away from the door and walked to the stairs, going to the first floor. Bingo got on the couch and laid her head on the soft fabric, scratching the muzzle on her face.
"I hope Dougie gets here soon," she said to herself.
BAM
Bingo heard a loud, slamming noise. She turned her head to the right and saw Bandit, Stripe, Wendy, Muffin, Socks, and Dougie running inside the house. They all looked scared and out of breath. Bingo then saw Dougie's mom about to enter the house, but she fell to the ground. At first, the red heeler thought that she had tripped, but she then saw her hanging on to the door, as if something from the outside was trying to pull the brown cavapoo outside.
"AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!"
The brown cavapoo screamed in pain. Bandit and Stripe ran up to the screaming dog, each of them grabbing her arms and pulling on her. The brown cavapoo was gripping the two heelers with all her strength. Socks and Muffin were hiding behind Wendy. Dougie was trying to run to his mother, but Wendy held on to the younger brown cavapoo as he cried in silence, trying to reach for her mother. Even though the Heeler brothers were using all their strength to pull Miranda away, they fell to the ground, defeated. She gripped her nails to the bottom part of the door until she was pulled completely outside, still screaming.
Bandit got up and was about to run outside, but Stripe beat him to the door and slammed it shut, locking it. "WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING?" Brandit yelled as he pushed his younger brother to the door. "WE CAN'T HELP HER BANDIT; WE COULDN'T EVEN PULL HER AWAY." Stripe shouted. They stopped arguing as soon as they heard the cavapoo scream even louder. They didn't know what Trixie was doing to the brown dog, but they could hear loud thuds. They could hear her getting dragged around the ground. And then, in silence, Dougie was still crying, grieving for her mother.
CRASH
Miranda was thrown through the front window like a rag doll, hitting the wall and falling to the ground. Her eyes were gouged out, her jaw was missing, and her arms were broken into dozens of pieces. Her ears were torn off, and her skull was cracked, leaking brain and spinal fluid on the ground. Dougie just stared at her mother; he didn't cry, but he couldn't move, and he couldn't hear anything. He couldn't hear the screaming white heeler as she climbed through the window and began to chase the group of dogs. Wendy picked up the small cavapoo as the rest of the kids followed her. Bingo saw the white heeler; she couldn't believe her eyes, but she moved quickly and ran into the kitchen, hiding from the white heeler with a torn bottom lip, chasing and constantly bleeding from her mouth. The red heeler looked straight at the knives on the kitchen counter. She walked up and stood on a chair that was near the knife holder. Taking out a large and sharp blade, she ran back to the kitchen and into a corner.
Bandit, Stripe, Wendy, and the rest of the kids were running upstairs with the white heeler right behind them. Socks and Muffin were screaming for their lives. They reached the hallway, running towards Bandit's room. The blue heeler was upfront; he looked down at the ground, looking at a dumbbell he had accidentally left on the floor before he left. The blue heeler picked it up, and while running, he quickly turned around and threw the dumbbell right at the white heeler.
CRACK
It managed to hit the white heeler between its glowing eyeballs and crack its skull internally, causing her to trip and roll on the ground. It gave the dogs an advantage as they made it into Bandit's room. Brandy and Bluey were just about to head out of the room to see what was going on downstairs. But they were both almost pushed out of the way as bandit-striped Wendy and the other kids made it into the room. Bandit shut the door, and Stripe pushed a cabinet beside the door on the ground, cracking the antique wood. Wendy was pushing another piece of wooden furniture towards the door. The bandit then pulled it on top of the broken wooden antique, making it more secure. "Bandit, what's going on?" Brandy said, scared, as she hugged the young blue heeler. "I-I- I don't know... Something is wrong with Trixie; she's acting like...
THUMP
THUMP
THUMP
Trixie was trying to push on the door, and the furniture was starting to move. Bandit, Stripe, and Wendy ran up to the furniture, pushing it closer to the door, giving it more support. Eventually, she stopped, but the dogs stood their ground just in case anything would happen. They were all quiet, waiting for something to happen. Trixie was trying to catch her breath, looking around the room. Bandit and Stripe were standing their ground. Brandy had her mouth covered, trying not to scream. The kids were around the red heeler, scared for their lives, all four of them. 4. Why were there only 4 kids in the room? "Where's Bingo?"
CRASH
Before Wendy could even bother to finish her sentence, she was pushed back by a giant force of strength. She lay on the ground, groaning in pain. She looked up to see the bandit and stripe groaning in pain. She then heard a scream. She turned her head to see that Trixie was on top of Brandy, trying to bite her face as Brandy continued to scream in fear, using all her strength to keep the white heeler's mouth away from her. Bluey got on top of her father's bed and used a heavy book to throw it at the glowing-eyed heeler. It hit her right in the head. Trixie turned her attention to Bluey and jumped on top of the heeler on the bed, surprising her. Bluey was on her stomach, and Trixie used her hand to push down on her back. Bluey was screaming in fear.
"SSSSCCCCRSSSHHHHHH"
But she screamed even harder as the white heeler bit the nap of her back and pulled back, tearing the back of her skin. The blue heeler continued to scream in pain. Trixie dropped the skin and began to chew on the blue heeler's exposed back. She began to bleed intensely as she continued to shake her head, bluely crying in the process. Brandy saw adrenaline kicking in her body. She grabbed one of the sharp wooden pieces and ran up towards Trixie, stabbing the white heeler in the eye.
"RAAAHHHHHHHHHHH"
The white heeler screamed in pain as she let go of the blue heeler's exposed back. Trixie fell off the bed and started to shake uncontrollably. It looked like she was having a seizure. Bandit and Wendy saw this as an opportunity. They both grabbed large pieces of broken wood and began to physically beat the white heeler. She screamed, trying to get up from the ground. But they both beat her back to the ground, both of the dogs grunting from the amount of force they were using. But Trixie managed to get the upper hand and get them off her. Something looked different about her; she was actually scared.
Dougie did not want to be in the same room as the white heeler. He ran out of the room and down the main hallway. Trixie rolled her not-stabbed eye; she could now see the brown cavapoo run away down the stairs. She took this opportunity to chase the deaf dog. Dougie was downstairs trying to find a place to hide, and Bingo was peeking out from the kitchen. She then looked upstairs and saw the white heeler looking down at the scared cavapoo. She ran down the stairs right behind him. Trixie rolled her non-injured eye back; the pupil was not visible anymore. She then used all her strength to run and jump at Dougie.
It was all in slow motion for the young cavapoo; how could it all have ended this way? He just wanted to visit her friend now that her mother was mangled up just a few feet away from him. It was all his fault. Why couldn't he just wait for tomorrow? Why couldn't he be patient? Now a horrible, mangled white heeler was jumping at him, about to chomp down on him with its bloody teeth. He could see that its tongue was bitten off, and its glowing eye was staring right at him. What he didn't expect was a little red heeler without her muzzle jumping beside the white heeler and stabbing her right in the eye.
It was not in slow motion anymore, and Trixie let out a horrifying scream. Bingo grabbed her by the ear, putting the knife deeper in her eye. Trixie fell to the side, and she was shaking her head, trying to get Bingo off her. The red heeler was about to lose her grip, but Bingo did something a bit unexpected.
CHOMP
She bit down on the white heeler's neck, shaking her head as she held the white heeler with her claws. Bingo's pupils began to shrink as her primal instincts turned on as she tasted her aunt's blood in her mouth. Trixie was still shaking her head, trying to get a grip on the red heeler. The white heeler then did a roll on the ground until Bingo lost her grip. Bingo regained her balance, standing on all fours. and looked at her aunt straight in her white eye. It wasn't her aunt anymore, just a monstrous husk of hers. Trixie tried to bite down on the red heeler, but Bingo jumped on her head, biting down on her head as she began to shake uncontrollably. Bingo looked down at her head and saw the piece of wood stuck in her eye. She grabbed a grip on it and used all of her young strength to hold on to it. She unhinged her jaw, letting go of Trixie's head. As she fell off the white heeler, she still held a grip on the wooden shiv. The weight of her body caused the wood to come out of the white heeler, including her glowing eyeball.
"RRRRAAAHHHHHHHH!"
Trixie screamed in pain, blood spewing from her eye. Including a bluish-green liquid. Trixie rolled down her remaining eye to get a better look; she could now see the red heeler. Bingo looked up at her, regaining her balance, but Trixie moved quicker than her and bit down on the red heeler's neck, getting a good hold of her bandana and gripping her as tight as she could. She then lifted her up with the red heeler. She used all her strength and slammed the red heeler on a wooden table beside her. Bingo couldn't scream; she was out of the air and was losing consciousness. She looked down at her stomach and saw a new piece of sharp wood sticking out from the side of her stomach. The wood penetrated her skin from the back. Trixie walked up in front of the red heeler, staring down at her right in Bingo's eyes. The white heeler was about to walk up to the red heeler. Trixie was growling, bleeding heavily from her eye socket.
THUMP
The white heeler looked down to see a small turtle boy looking straight up at her. She lifted her head up on the staircase to see a small purple-blue heeler looking at her with scared eyes. Trixie rolled up her remaining eye, now fully blind. And she ran as fast as she could on all fours. Down the main hall, Stripe could see his decaying wife running towards his youngest daughter. They made eye contact one last time as Trixie jumped on top of her and bit down on her head. She continued running and jumped out of the window just in front of her. Escaping into the dark with her daughter in her mouth. Stripe ran down the hallway, trying to catch up, even though he was already too late. He had tears in his eyes. He turned his head downstairs and saw Bingo bleeding on the floor, and Dougie was trying to pull the piece of wood out of her stomach. He looked down again at the broken window. Why would he even try? She was already gone.
He ran downstairs, focusing on the red heeler. "BANDIT, GET DOWN HERE!" The blue heeler yelled at his older brother. He walked up to the brown cavapoo and gently pushed him away. "Stop it; you're just going to open the wound." He said this as he picked up the injured heeler and placed her on the couch. Bingo was beyond tired, exhausted, and in pain, but she didn't have the energy to yell. "It's so cold," the little heeler said as she hugged herself, trying to get warmth. The loss of blood had caused her to lose body heat. Stripe looked around and saw a blanket on the chair. He grabbed it and wrapped Bingo around it. Bandit was up on the top of the stairs and saw his daughter's bleeding stomach. He ran back into his room, passing by Brandy, who was crying, and Wendy as they covered Blueys back with bed sheets to stop the bleeding. Bandit went into his closet and grabbed a belt, the same one he used when he slapped Bingo in the eye. He stopped and stared at it, but shook his head as he ran out of the closet. Bandit ran out and made it downstairs. He ran into the kitchen, grabbed another knife, and ran back to his bleeding daughter. Bandit put the belt down and got a good look at the wooden shiv in her stomach.
He began to use the knife to cut off the majority of the wood, leaving the other part inside of her alone. "Stripe, get me a small blanket!" He quickly said to his brother, Stripe looked around the room and found a small blue blanket. Dougie watched from the side of the couch, feeling bad for the red heeler. Bandit used the blanket and wrapped it around the red heeler's stomach. He tightened it as best as he could, Bingo groaning from the pain. "I-I-Its okay, baby, it's okay, y-y-you're going to be alright." Bandit said, trying to comfort his now-pale daughter. "It hurts, Daddy... It hurts." Bingo said it with a small whisper. Stripe got his head around Bingo, trying to comfort her and keep her from looking at her wound. tears still rolling down his eyes from the loss of his daughter. "Don't look down there, kid; it's not a pretty sight. Please stay with me; bingo, I'm here for you." Stripe said, rubbing her head, "Uncle Stripe, am I going to be okay?" She whispered, and Stripe looked down as Bandit used his belt to tighten the blanket to try and stop the majority of the bleeding.
"Uncle Stripe, I feel sleepy." Bingo said as her eyes began to feel heavy. "NO BINGO, STAY WITH ME; YOU WILL NOT DIE ON ME; STAY AWAKE." Bandit yelled at the top of his lungs, looking straight into Bingo's eyes, as tears were now rolling down his eyes. Even though Bandit yelled as hard as he could, Bingo could barely hear him. Her vision became blurry, and there was a ringing in her ear. She looked down at her wound, Bandit and Stripe still screaming at her. She looked down the couch to see the brown cavapoo looking right into her eyes. He looked terrified at her. Bingo, however, smiled; she knew what death was like. To her, it was the brain shutting down and never working again; it meant she would never be able to see her only friend anymore. It meant that he would be the last dog she would ever see in her small life, but yet she was happy.
"Dougie.."
