A/N: Hello, guys! This will probably the first ever fic of this crossover. So let's see what happens.
Konoha Private Academy. The academy that was acknowledged to have the best baseball team in Junior League in Japan. Their strength attracted even the powerhouses schools from Koshien. The legend started when unofficial game were organized between Konoha Private Academy and Komadai Fujimaki, the school that had won many times at Koshien a true champion.
The match were pretty even and even after 9 innings, both teams can't manage to score. So the game went to extra inning. Spectators were totally amazed at the game. However the stalemate was broken at the top of the 10th inning. Naruto Uzumaki, the cleanup batter, broke the stalemate by hitting a perfect home run, scored the decisive point of the game. At the bottom of the 10th, Komadai Fujimaki tried the best to conquer Konoha's ace, Uchiha Sasuke, but the speed of Sasuke's didn't even drop after playing 10 innings. And thus Konoha created a new legend by defeating the previous champion.
Due to their ridiculous stamina, that astounded not only reporters, but the opponent as well, Naruto Uzumaki, Sasuke Uchiha, Neji Hyuga and Kiba Inuzuka were given a nicname, Beast 4. That nickname soon was spread out to the whole Japan and their name was engraved into the mind of all those who were interested in baseball.
However, a year later, for unknown reason, Konoha Private Academy were close permanently and thus ended the legend. Despite that the member of 'Beast 4' decided to gather one last time at their former school training grounds.
KPA training ground
It was the usual baseball training ground like in any other school. But there were 4 teenangers, that stood in a circle and discussed something.
"It's been a while since the four of us decided to meet like this, eh?" chuckled the blond haired teen with sky blue eyes and three whisker-like weird marks on his cheeks.
"Yeah. It was a good time back then. The last against the champion, Komadai Fujimaki" stated a wild boy with feral eyes and triangle red marks on his cheek.
"Our legend was ended when Konoha Private were suddenly closed" input the pupilless teen with long hair cooly.
"That just means that Komadai will take back their throne. Though there is still Inashiro there that stand in their way" retort a teen with dark eyes and duck-butt hairstyle.
"True, true! The game was kinda close, but with the relay of 4 pitchers, Komadai managed to take down Mei Narumiya! That guy is serious a monster!" exclaimed Naruto in excitement recalling the final of 89th Summer Koshien.
Suddenly Sasuke smirked, which caught the attention of the of three.
"I will dethrone Mei Narumiya and become number 1 pitcher of Japan!" proclaimed Sasuke and emanated an electric blue aura around him. "I am going to Inashiro, now that it's time to go to high school!"
Naruto also smirked at his proclamation and added. "If that's the case then I am going to Seido High School! They had been archrival of Inashiro for a long time, so I will take you down, Sasuke-bastard!"
An orange aura emanated from Naruto clashing with Sasuke's electric blue.
"I guess I will go to Ichidai then. I look forward to crush both of you" Neji proclaimed coldly and looked down at two former teammates.
Naruto and Sasuke narrowed their eyes at Neji's statement. 3 out of 4 members of Beast 4 has joined West Tokyo powerhouses.
"Hah go ahead and destroy each other, I am going to Teito. Without being said, I will crush any of you, if we happened to play each other" stated Kiba.
With that the battle of Beast 4 has began. The 4 key members of KPA departed on their own ways. And when they will meet again, it will be bloodbath.
Scene change
Soon the news of where each of Beast 4 has gone to spread like wildfire. Fans stated that this summer will be the most intense summer of all summers. Scouts and reporters payed lots of attentions to Seido, Inashiro, Ichidai and Teito. Little did they know, that Beast 4 were not the only ones that will attract their attentions.
Scene change
Seido's baseball training ground
Coach Kataoka, as usual, gathered all the players to the ground very early. He was a very strict coach and won't tolerate tardiness. The first years, that joined must stated their names, from which school they came from and what position they played.
Most of first years had finished their self introduction and it's Naruto's turn at last.
"Naruto Uzumaki. I am from Konoha Private Academy. The position I played is 2nd baseman!"
When he stepped up most players started to murmur to themselves.
"Hey, it's really him! Naruto Uzumaki, the one the scored the decisive point and won Konoha Private the game against Komadai!"
"I can't believe I am on the same team as one of Beast 4!"
"He is no joke man. He might even gave senpais a run for their money!"
Meanwhile Kataoka still kept his stern look at the blond first year. He noticed that Naruto's physics were more developed than that of other first years.
And surely Kataoka was not the only one that took interest in the blond.
"Heh, so this the infamous Naruto Uzumaki of Beast 4. He is certainly feels different then other first years" exclaimed Kuramochi Youchi with an amused smirked.
"He actually hits a home run in his last match. I can't help but want to compete with him" input Tetsuya Yuuki, the caotain of Seido's first string, releasing blue fire-up aura.
"Oi oi, take it easy Tetsu! Remember he is still first year. Don't give him that much credits!" grumbl Issashiki Jun.
But all Naruto's attention was suddenly shift a sudden voice.
"Oi, there is a guy that late and tried to sneak in!" that voice belonged to the sly catcher of Seido, Miyuki Kazuya.
A brown haired teen suddenly stopped in the middle of the sneak-in. He was paled as wax as everyone turned their gaze at him. Miyuki used that chance and sneaked in while giggling to himself.
"Agghhh! That guy used me as a decoy!" shouted out the teen in panic.
Kataoka turn his stern gaze at the teen and shouted.
"GO AND RUN UNTIL THE END OF MORNING PRACTICE!"
The teen was sweating like mad at the order, but complied.
Miyuki was still giggling in amusement. But that stopped when he heard Kataoka's next words.
"The others that were late follow that fool".
Miyuki, Kuramochi and Masuko joined Sawamura, the brown haired teen that was late, the former was still laughing in amusement while the first year shouted back at him that there is nothing funny here.
Naruto's eyes followed the retreating back of Sawamura. Something deep inside him told that this new first year will be one of the necessary force for Seido's baseball team.
Scene Change
Inashiro Industrial
It was a late evening after the practice. Like Naruto, Sasuke's presence in the team has gained a lot of attention from other players of the team. Everybody knew about his intense pitching duel against Hongo Masamune from Komadai Fujimaki. It was so intense that neither side managed to score and the game demanded extra inning.
Sasuke had a habit of running marathon both in the morning and at night. So he contiued his habit even after entering Inashiro. A certain presence made him stopped. It was Mei Narumiya, the ace of Inashiro team.
"You are still not sleeping, Narumiya. Or you want something to ask me?" blurt out Sasuke. The teen was still disrespectful to everyone else, like he had been in Konoha. That surely ticked most people off, but Sasuke could be careless.
That certainly didn't sit well with Mei, the indication was the tick marks at the temples and a twitching eye.
"Try to be respectful for your elders, first year! You don't if you are Beast 4 or Beast 5!"
"Hmm" That was Sasuke's only reply and that ticked Mei off even more, but he decided to let go to ask the question in mind.
"So is that true that you pitched toe-to-toe with Komadai's ace?"
Sasuke turned back to look at Mei his anyss orbs and replied. "Yes. It's true. That game was very intense. My team manage to win only because our key men didn't run out of stamina and could keep playing at our best. Komadai, on the other hand, don't have much of a choice. Other side ace was tired, but he is the only one that could keep me at bay. But I guess in the end the fatigue got to him and Naruto noticed that, finishing him off with a home run"
"Naruto Uzumaki" whispered Mei carefully.
"Naruto is not a smart type batter that can calculates the distance to make effective swing. But his 'sense' is so accurate that after get a feeling of each oitch trajectory, he could hit a homer no matter how difficult the pitch will be. In other words, the most dangerous batter of Koshien this year is him" stated Sasuke narrowing his eyes.
"Oh~ then how will I fare against him then?" wondered Mei curiously.
"You might manage to strike him out at the early part of the match, but Naruto's 'sense' will get used to your pitch in latter half and he will crush you" answered Sasuke truthfully, which not pleased Mei at all. But Sasuke's next proclamation displeased Mei even more.
"I will be the one stop him. I always want an opportunity to play against him in a serious game. You can keep your ace position. But even without becoming an ace, I will prove that I am the best pitcher in Japan" proclaimed Sasuke looking back at the ace of Inashiro from the corner of his eyes and then proceeded to continue his run.
Mei was incredibly pissed at that proclamation. He swore at his pride that he will be the one to crush Naruto Uzumaki, not Sasuke.
Scene Change
Back to Seido. 3 days later
In those 3 days, Naruto got to practice a bit with his fellow first years. Sawamura was an exception though, as a punishment he was forced to run for 3 days straight. He also managed to meet another interesting individual, that will become a great asset for Seido team. Furuya Satoru, he was a first year like Naruto and Sawamura, but his pitch was definitely unlikely that of first years. The first time, Naruto got to see him pitch was when Sawamura decided to play catch ball with Furuya. Both of their pitch got Naruto's interest immediately. Sawamura's pitch was weird as it suddenly change direction at the end. While Furuya's pitch roared like a wild beast. It's like Sasuke's pitch when he went all out.
While the first string had a game against Ichidai, Naruto, Furuya and Sawamura decided to stay back in Seido to get to know the other two better.
"Whoa, I can't believe I am talking to one of the infamous Beast 4 of Konoha Private!" exclaimed Sawamura in excitement.
"It's not such a big deal, dattebayo!" Naruto retort in embarrassment while rubbing his nape.
"Of course, it is a big deal! You even manage to score the decisive point that decided the outcome of the match" input Furuya.
"Why did you decide to come to Seido, Whiskers?" asked Sawamura curiously, while giving the blond a nickname in accident.
"Who are you calling whiskers?" Naruto bopped the loud-mouth, which cause the later to whine and apologize.
"I come to Seido, because my rival chose Inashiro. I want to play seriously against him and the other two" replied Naruto with his eyes blazing in anticipation.
"So Sasuke Uchiha is in Inashiro. I want to pitch against him" blurt out Furuya in anticipation and released a pillar of blue aura and his eyes shining like mad.
"Seido already has a very strong batting order. So normally my presence shouldn't be that necessary. Right now Seido is craving for a true ace" said Naruto while looking from Sawamura to Furuya. That certainly caught the two by surprise at his proclamation.
"Tanba-san is too inconsistent and Kawakami-san is not very reliable. Hence why I think you two could become the asset that Seido needs to win the Summer Tournament and go to Koshien"
Furuya noticed something weird in Naruto's statement.
"Wait, you said 'normally'"
"That's right. If the members of Beast 4 were not presented in this tournament then I could very well should sit on the bench and allowed someone else to enjoy playing. But there are two more members of Beast 4 in West Tokyo, so my presence is need to hold them down. Especially Sasuke Uchiha" explained Naruto, thinking about the members of Beast 4, except Kiba.
"Just how good are the other 3?" wondered Furuya curiously.
"All of 4 of us has gone through a training far beyond that of high school. And the level is far above the standard high school level" answered Naruto, making both Sawamura and Furuya shocked.
Scene Change
After the game against Ichidai, both Kataoka and Takashima Rei realised how desperately they need a reliable pitcher. The game only won because their batters managed out score the opponent's batters. 13-9. That was a close call. Hence why Kataoka decided to make a match of 1st years vs 2nd and 3rd years, minus 1st string. Tanba Koichi was removed from string because he couldn't perform in the last game, so was Kawakami.
The game was absolutely one-sided, because despite playing against first years, the upperclassmen didn't hold anything back. The first years was full of despair since the innings passed so fast that they can't even get a proper rest to recover. Sawamura was allowed to play, but not the position he wanted. And finally Kataoka called out Furuya's to change pitcher.
"Change of pitcher. Take the mound. Furuya Satoru!"
The upperclassmen were still furious of what the cheeky first year said in the canteen. He said that he won't let anyone hit his pitch. The upperclassmen thought that he looked down at them, but in truth Furuya were merely saying the truth, since his pitch was far from being normal. Naruto knew that everybody will be into a total shock, once Furuya unleashed his pitch.
The catcher gave a fastball sign, Furuya changed into a throwing form and unleashed his pitch. The pitch was so powerful that it slightly rising, and the catcher couldn't catch that. As a result, the pitch blew away Kataoka's protection mask, making the others concern about his well-being. Kataoka just smirked in satisfaction and replied.
"You passed, Furuya Satoru! From tomorrow you can practice together with the first string"
His words shocked the upperclassmen and they insisted on giving them another chance. But Kataoka refused, because no first year could actually catch Furuya's pitch, so it's pointless.
The score was 14-0 and the first year had lost all their hope. They can't even imagine scoring a single point in this scrimmage match. That was until Naruto's name was called as a clean-up hitter.
That immediately caught the attention of everybody else on the ground.
"There he is. We will finally witness the one that brought down the champion in action" stated Miyuki Kazuya with an excite smirk.
"So he is one of the infamous Beast 4 that has overthrown the champion, Komadai Fujimaki. Naruto Uzumaki-kun" wondered Oota, the club president of Seido, looking impressed at Naruto's back.
"Indeed. I didn't plan to scout for him, since what we desperately want is a reliable pitcher. But I guess, with him being that's a good bonus. Considering that we might encounter the other members of Beast 4" replied Rei Takashima adjusting her glasses.
Furuya was about to leave since he already finished his test. But Naruto's presence made him curious.
"Look, Uzumaki is about to bat" murmured Kanemaru Shinji.
"At this rate, I doubt he could score though. High school level was a a complete different level them junior high"
"That's true. But Uzumaki's former team managed to win against Komadai Fujimaki and he was the one who clinch the match" added Tojo Hideaki. " If there is anyone that can gain a momentum for us. It's him!"
Some were still in doubt, but the atmosphere surrounding the first year were no longer as heavy as before.
"Let's see how good you are. Elite" wondered Sawamura with a wide smirk.
Kataoka looked at Naruto's back silently for a moment. Just his presence managed to relieve the heavy atmosphere surrounding first year. Once again, Seido's coach saw clearly that this teen is already beyond the high school level.
The one that facing him was none other than Kawakami Norifumi. He often got overwhelmed by dangerous batter. And the fact of sudden confrontation against Naruto made him nervous.
Naruto stood at in the batter box, piercing his gaze at Kawakami, making the pitcher uncomfortable. The catcher noticed that and called for time out to calm Kawakami down. It's kinda funny that the upperclassmen had an overwhelming lead, but Naruto's mere presence made them nervous. The infielders and outfielders also called out to Kawakami and somehow he managed to calm down.
The catcher first called for an outside, to test how Kawakami is doing and how Naruto will reacted. The later could saw that as 'ball' clearly, so he let it go confidently. But that one pitch gave Naruto, enough information about the quality of Kawakami's pitch. His 'sense' adjusted instantly.
The count was 1 Ball no Strike. The battery tried catch Naruto off guard, but the later just hit foul. Though the distance that foul flew at, causing the battery to get nervous.
The first years gained their hope and started to cheer for the blond batter. The momentum created by Naruto, making them think that they could finally catch up to the upperclassmen.
'He easily let go of the outside pitch. And reacted instantly to the inside fastball. He could hit the RBI here and goes to the base, but it seems that was not his plan' deducted Kataoka looking and batter in front of him.
'Whoa! That foul surely went deep! And this kid is actually a first year? Where the heck did he get that power from? There is no way Nori will want to pitch another fastball to him after that. We didn't even got any strike! So this is Naruto Uzumaki of Beast 4' thought the catcher sweating profoundly while glancing at the batter in front of him.
The first years started to cheer loudly, which eered the upperclassmen even more. Both Sawamura and Furuya were amazed at Naruto's reaction speed. Because so far, no one from first year managed to make decent hit on any of the upperclassmen pitchers.
"Whoa! He totally nailed that pitch. If that was not foul, we could get a runner this inning" exclaimed Sawamura in awe.
"True. But it seems to me that Uzumaki has other plans rather than going to the base" deducted Furuya cooly.
"You mean he hits that foul on purpose? Why did he do that?" wondered Sawamura in confusion.
"If I remember right, then in his last game, his aim was the winning pitch of Komadai's ace. Uzumaki's aim is to destroy a pitcher by hitting the pitch that the pitcher has most confident in with home run" analyzed Furuya.
Sawamura eyes widened in surprise at the exclamation and the same time he felt shivers down his spine and realised why Naruto was so dangerous.
The first string members looked at the game with different emotions. Miyuki glanced to the dugout of the first years and that the despair has completely left their eyes, actually they fired up even more. The genius catcher then glance at Kawakami and saw that he was quite nervous.
"That foul surely as heck made Nori nervous. But if he chickened out here the first year will gain momentum to overthrow the upperclassmen. So the most important thing right now is to shut out Uzumaki" deduced Kuramochi, looking seriously at Naruto from the distance.
"Yes. But Uzumaki can be so easily taken out. He had a valuable experience against the game with Komadai, so a normal pitch won't be able to take him out" retort Miyuki while adjusting his glasses.
"I wonder what will be the battery's decision?" Kuramochi wondered curiously. He never expected for the game of 1st against upperclassmen would be so intense and all because the presence of one player.
After lots of thoughts, the battery decided with a slider into strike zone to get the first strike from Naruto. However that was Naruto's exact intention. Kawakami unleashed his slider and had seemingly caught Naruto off guard. But the later reacted at the last second when the ball was about to reach catcher's glove and unleashed a powerful hit that flew over the fence.
The first home run caused the entire ground engulfed in silence. But the first one to break the silence was none other then Sawamura.
"Whoa! That 'elite' really have done it! He hits a homer from the upperclassmen! We still have a chance to turn around this game!"
"Yes! I don't feel like giving up anymore!" exclaimed Tojo Hideaki with hopeful eyes.
"I might really need to take back my statement about 1 player can't change the outcome of the match" added Shinji Kanemaru.
Oota and Rei finally managed to overcome their shock.
"That was really shocking. To think a first year could hit a homer from the upperclassmen. From Kawakami no less" input Oota in awe.
"Yeah, Kawakami-kun maybe a bit inconsistent, but he is still Seido's pitcher. That just proved that the homer he hits from Komadai was no fluke either"
The first string members looked at Kawakami in concern, as the later has a totally shocked and devastated look.
"It takes 1 hit to shatter a pitcher's heart totally. This guy is far more dangerous than I expected" Miyuki couldn't help, but grinned nervously after what he had seen.
"So I guess the best way to deal with him is to walk him?" wondered Kuramochi.
"I don't know, but it might be better than getting him hits home run every once in a while" added Kominato Ryosuke objectively.
Kataoka finally decided to speak after the long pause.
"You are done for today too, Uzumaki. From tomorrow you can practice together with first string like Furuya"
Naruto however had different plan in his mind.
"Due to all respect trainer. I want to continue play with my peers. I am glad that I can show them it's not over until the last second. If you don't give up and have faith in your comrades, the chance to turn around will come eventually"
Kataoka widened his eyes at the blond's words. The gap in score was so big and the upperclassmen all played seriously. Yet this kid had a confidence that he could turn the game around?
"I also have one request, trainer. To turn around a game with such a big gap, I need a truly capable and reliable comrades". Naruto suddenly turned his gaze to Sawamura, which shocked everyone in the ground. "Can you, please, allow Sawamura to take the mound from this inning?"
Sawamura was shocked, but was also incredibly glad that someone wanted for him to take the mound. Also when he heard that Naruto wanted to turn this game around he couldn't help but fire up more than ever. But Naruto's words also affect his peers, there were even those that thought they could win the game.
"That's ok. Though I don't see any other meanings to continue this scrimmage game. But since you hit a home run, I guess I can grant you permission to continue this game" replied Kataoka with an amused smirk.
"Thank you very much, coach, for going along with my selfish request" Naruto bowed his head in gratitude. But suddenly a voice in dugout interrupted their conversation.
"Coach! I want to grant a permission to take the mound. I want to face off against Uzumaki!"
That voice belonged to none other then Tanba Koichiro, the most likely new ace of Seido. The tall upperclassman stared at Naruto with such an intense look that the air in the ground became more thicker.
Naruto glanced back at the upperclassman and could see that he was very eager to avenge Kawakami. The feeling the third years put in the baseball were truly intense. If he was a normal first year that could certainly intimidated him. But he was a member of Beast 4. None of them should be considered as normal.
"I don't have a problem, coach. Taking me down here, is the best way to show off Tanba-senpai's skill to return to the first string after all" replied Naruto with a smirked and looked back at the Seido's pitcher.
"Tanba-san…" muttered Kawakami in gratitude, the pitcher had finally was out of his shock condition. To think he couldn't even get 1 out and was totally destroyed in 1 hit, the damage was immense.
More audiences has gathered after Naruto hit home run. And with Tanba's declaration of showdown suddenly the game became much more intriguing. Most also wondered wether the first year team could turn the game around with Naruto in the lead.
