Chapter 13: Villain Attack
Kold's POV
The villains kept on moving from the dark gooey portal that happened to appear out of nowhere. It seems to me that there are a lot of them, and what I mean by a lot is really a lot. I can't even keep track of how many they are, but what I am sure though is that we are in for a real battle with villains. 'This is going to be annoying...' it irritated me just the thought of the aftermath of this ordeal.
"13, why aren't the alarms going off," The girl with swirly hair said which her name by the way is Momo Yaoyorozu, I got that because they announced her name during her win in the position of Deputy.
"Good question… I don't really know why" the hero said honestly and I kind of like his attitude towards this, no need to sugarcoat things when we already know that we are in huge trouble.
"Is this place their only target or the entire campus? Either way, if the alarms aren't triggered then it's safe to say that one of these villains may have a quirk that is masking their presence here" Todoroki said, scanning the villains for a chance to discover who the mystery person is.
"I've got to agree with that thought, and this will be the time for each of us to ready ourselves. If push comes to shove, we will be engaging into a fight without our consent on the matter" I said, deciding which cards to summon and prepared them in hand.
I mostly decided to choose both close combatants from the Paladins, long-range attackers from Kagero, and supporters from Oracle Think Tank. With a total of 6 cards in hand, this will be a fight I am not gladly to participate in. "I guess it is also safe to assume that they plan this out from the very beginning, they perfectly chose a time to attack where students are being taught making it a more vulnerable state for an invasion," I said putting the cards I didn't need back to my holster.
"They must have a concrete plan in mind, but what is it?" Todoroki said successfully alarming my other classmates into worry. 'Okay… I get that he is smart and all but he could have left that information for himself' It might worry and panic the others at the same time, making them unable to think clearly.
"13 get them out of here and alert the main campus… actually if they got the ability to block out our sensors then they might be jamming our regular communications too" with that said and done, maybe I have a unit that could help us in this situation. A unit that specializes in techs and communication or plain technology could really help us out… but I have no unit capable. The clan I know who specializes in technology are Aqua Force and maybe Nova Grapplers.
"Kaminari, try using your quirk to contact the school" Mr. Aizawa ordered and it immediately made the yellow-haired guy with a phone in his ears do something. 'I guess that was the use of the phone he has on his costume. I rather thought it was a stupid idea, but now I don't think that is the case'. However, I kept on thinking about what could I do, I should have gotten more cards from different clans but the downside is that I barely personally know the other units I couldn't ask for more. I can't bite off more than I can chew, that would be terrible of me.
As Midoriya had talked to Mr. Aizawa about not engaging in a fight, he was proven wrong by Mr. Aizawa. "Sir, maybe I could boost your speed and powers before you go fight multiple villains at once?" I asked trying to gauze my teacher to let me help him in this fight against the villains.
I know that they will figure that my mother has been kidnapped sooner or later but that doesn't mean that I am in a corner I shouldn't help the people around me. Might as well do good things if I can, so that, I have some sort of leverage when something bad happens.
"Thanks for the offer, but I couldn't let the slightest chance for the villains to find out about your quirk's capabilities," he said looking at me seriously, hearing him silently saying that I shouldn't flaunt my quirk whenever I can, especially towards villains such as them.
"Got it…" I said dejectedly, and I was only offering to help but I kind of get what he is saying my kind of quirk will definitely catch the eyes of the villains if they knew what's it capable of, heck I don't even know the extent of my powers yet. I guess following what Mr. Aizawa said will be the smartest move to make as of the moment.
He had jumped down the stairs and intercepted the other villains preventing them from getting to us. I can't help but feel a little helpless in this situation; we are heroes-in-training meaning we need to overcome this kind of hurdle when we graduate into being pros, and here we are now sitting like a bunch of newborn ducks.
"13, I can't just watch this and let Mr. Aizawa take action. He needs support as soon as he can, I remembered the first time we met he said that he has dry eyes, and during the quirk assessment I noticed that his eyes are what he uses to activate his quirk, and I'm just asking for a chance?" I tried to persuade the hero to accept my proposal of help, but I believe it fell on deaf ears.
"This is no time to argue with the direct orders of the teacher. We have to go" Iida said pulling me back towards the gates we came in.
However, before we could arrive at the gates a black wormhole had opened up in the middle of the road and came out a black mist. "It is a pleasure to meet you future heroes; we are the league of villains. I know it's impolite but we decided to visit this haven of Justice to say hello and besides, isn't this the fitting place for All Might to take his last breath" the mist said with his creepy yellow eyes staring at all of us.
Now that he mentioned All Might, I do wonder where the symbol of peace is. Mr. Aizawa said that he will be also facilitating today's training but why isn't he here yet. Mr. Aizawa badly needs his assistance at the moment.
"I believe he was supposed to be here, but yet no sign of him. There must have been some change in plans we could not have foreseen. In the end, it doesn't matter, I still have a role to play" he said that while I think he expanded himself to be much bigger.
I really have a bad feeling about this, I think I might have an idea as to what his role is… and that would be separating all of us from each other because if we try and do something together it will lead to bigger problems for them. 'Why shouldn't I have thought of that earlier, it's clear we are still rookies but we can use our quirks and that is quite troublesome to the villains if they don't know what to expect from us' however, there is an error to that idea. We are still students, and practically young... and I guess the teacher won't risk it.
A huge explosion occurred blurring our vision from our enemy, and that is going to be bad. 'Bakuguo sometimes you gotta use your head' I thought face-palming at what he did, did he not think that if he blinds the enemy he will also blind most of us.
"Foolish children, you really live up to your school's vision. However, I'll scatter you around this facility to meet my comrades and your death" The black misty guy said, scattering his black mist covering all of us.
'This is bad… I don't have a clear vision of what is happening' I gripped the 6 cards I let out tightly, afraid that I may drop them at a moment's notice while closing my eyes from the force of the mist. 'I don't have the luxury to pick another batch if I let them go now'
I started to fall from a height I didn't know how tall, but when I opened my eyes the ground welcomed me back to the land. 'Thanks so much, Earth…' I scanned the place and I think I can see that I have been dropped by the Landslide Zone. Not too shabby, but I don't really have a clear advantage in this place.
Before I could breathe I heard screams just ahead of me and I notice frost is also coming off from that place, and there is only one classmate I know that have that kind of quirk. 'Todoroki must also be here…' I thought running to see if he needed my help in this fight.
"For God's sake put up a real fight" I heard him say, and it made me shudder for some reason. His aura is screaming intimidation and I do not like it one bit.
"I guess you didn't need help," I said announcing my presence towards my comrade and enemy. I know it was reckless of me but I am quite certain that he has this under control and he doesn't need my help.
"… Kold," he said acknowledging my presence and I just also gave him a nod in response. 'He sure is powerful and well-trained if he has that kind of control with his quirk' I thought admiring his use of his power, he really must be a dedicated student if he has that much control.
"Move!" I heard him yell, and I ducked from what was supposed to be a rod that was aimed at my head and is then frozen by the touch of a hand from Todoroki, and it followed the aimers body freezing the attacker in his place.
"Thanks, for the save… I owe you" I said tapping my costume from the dust that has gathered from it.
"You should have been more alert, you could have gotten yourself killed" Icy guy warned and I waved it off.
"Yeah, yeah… but you saved me so nothing to it, but I appreciate the save" I replied dismissing his worried face. 'Okay… that was kind of new' but I just ignored it and looked towards the person who tried to kill me.
"So, the plan was to scatter us and kill us, but you're woefully unprepared. In fact, it looks to me you don't have the training, you haven't had the slightest idea how to use your quirks" Todoroki said to the villains, gaining their attention.
I know that much, but how are they going to kill All Might. They must have some sort of secret weapon to aid them in killing the symbol of peace. However, one thing that strikes me odd though… why are these thugs seem to be so low level? Are they underestimating us just because we're students or there is a hidden agenda to this?
"I heard them say about killing All Might, but how can they do that? We need now is information" he said turning to one of the villains that were frozen by his quirk and walked towards him with a menacing look in his eyes.
"Okay… I know we are hero-in-training and we don't want bloodshed, but if you don't speak now your cell starts to freeze and die from hypothermia" I said walking slowly beside Todoroki, with a serious face trying to look intimidating and get the information out from his system.
"Those hands guy… said something about a secret weapon and when we met at the meeting place. I think that muscle guy is the secret weapon. I don't know what that thing is but I can assure you that it is not human anymore" The guy with a green pain over his eyes said with a trembling voice.
I recognize those two people he said, it was the first two people that came out from the portal guy's quirk. If I remember correctly, they seem to be the only strong ones, including the mist guy. If all three of them are there, then Mr. Aizawa is in pretty big trouble. He doesn't have a chance if they rush him.
"Todoroki, Mr. Aizawa is in big trouble if what he's talking about is the truth," I said worry in my voice. Mr. Aizawa may come off as a person who doesn't really care, but he does you just only need to look at his actions clearly and you'll know that he isn't a cold-hearted person.
"Figures… but I still need to ask some questions and tie them all up" he replied, and he does have a point if let them go like this, there is a chance that they will come after us when we are facing the boss.
"There's no time for further questions, and I've got the unit to handle them," I said, holding the one unit out of the 6 I let out in my hand with a smirk on his face. He is going to be a big help when it comes to these kinds of things. "Come on out… Calling Dream Eater" I said, with the card glowing in my hand, and appeared a brown small elephant wearing necklaces and charms.
"That's… interesting" Todoroki said at the sidelines.
"I know he isn't that powerful when it comes to raw strength, but when we talk about dreams… then you'll have another thing coming for you," I said looking at the villains with bored eyes. "Dream Eater… I want you to make them fall asleep and haunt their minds, but don't go overboard and destroy their heads, just a little scare and that would be enough" I asked the dream elephant and it just made a cute noise in agreement, then turned into a mist going to each villain's ear to another one by one until all of them were fast asleep.
I turned to the Icy guy "This is the perfect time for you to melt the ice, they'll be asleep for the entire day, and when they wake up count on Dream Eater to make them fall asleep again. Besides, he has authority over dreams, they don't have much of a choice but to succumb to his powers" I explained to the guy and started running back to the central plaza.
"You really have a good handle with your quirk. I'm impressed" he complimented me while running beside me at the same pace.
"Thanks but it all boils down to getting to know each of them personally. I didn't even know Dream Eater has that kind of power until I told him to let loose and it was not a pleasant experience" I said shuddering at the memory when Dream eater made me his victim number one.
"Glad that you overcame it then…" he replied and that is where our conversation ended, and we both focused on speeding to the central plaza and hope that our adviser is not in any serious danger just yet.
I don't know what lies ahead of us, and I need all the stamina I can get. So, I'll just hope that Mr. Aizawa can just hold on for a little while. We might just be students, but we have a chance to make a difference in this fight and we also have a good grasp of what our quirks are, unlike these low-level thugs.
I didn't expect that the Landslide Zone is pretty far from the central Plaza. So, I better get a move on, and not think about stamina or energy for that matter. This is life and death, so I better get my priority straight. I know it's hypocritical of me, but there is no way I am letting one of my teachers die, it's like what I said. If I can do something, why not do it? There's no harm in trying.
"Sorry Todoroki, I only have room to summon a unit that can fly one person at a time. You have to make do with what you can, and I expect that you better be fast or else" I said to the Icy guy, and he nodded his head that he got what I meant.
"Call, Wyvern Strike Jarran" I chanted while jumping off a cliff and tossing the card below me to summon a mechanic wyvern dragon with a knight riding it.
With a thud, I landed on my butt and held on to Jarran for safety, "Jarran I need you to get me to Central Plaza, the place where the fountain is, and be quick. We don't have time to waste!" I commanded pointing in direction of where the Plaza was.
"Got it!" With a howl from the dragon, we zoomed into the place at a speed that I couldn't keep my eyes open. 'I just hope that I get there in time to help' I thought worried if the villains got to my teachers or not and worst-case scenario they had gotten to my fellow classmates.
I'm almost halfway to the Plaza and what I noticed made my eyes widen in fright. It was the hands' guy closing in on Asui's face and with Midoriya and the purple guy was only staring at the scene in front of them not noticing the hands' guy's hands closing in on one of them. 'He is going to get her...' I thought in horror.
"Jarran attack the guy covered in hands!" I quickly commanded the Kagero unit and notice that the wyvern is readying a fire-powered beam.
As that was happening I look towards the blood that was splattered everywhere and another surprise had welcomed me. It was Mr. Aizawa covered in injury and the big muscle guy with his brains out was holding him down, and twisting the arms of the pro hero.
The beam was fired and closing in towards the hands' guy, and a huge explosion had occurred at the vicinity knocking the low leveled thugs away by the sheer force of it. 'I hope it didn't injure anyone of my classmates because of that'
When the smoke cleared, I notice that the hands' guy was covered by the muscle man. It made me rejoice at seeing the damage done to the man, 'All right… I bet that's gonna leave a mark that he can't recover' but I was proven wrong because in a sudden rush of regeneration the burned dark skin of his regrew in a matter of seconds.
'Damn that thing has a regeneration quirk, and it's quite powerful too' I said clicking my tongue in annoyance. How can someone be able to withstand the wyvern's fire beam like that?
I notice that the hands' guy pointed his finger at me. 'Crap!' and the muscle man had launched itself towards me in a matter of moments. I couldn't even see him coming.
However, before the thing could collide with us Jarren had moved fast enough to throw me towards the pavement of the Plaza in quick reaction. "Jarren… No!" I yelled worried for the unit that it could badly get hurt, he was still a grade 1 unit and he prioritizes support over the defense and attack thanks to his partner and crime Tejas.
With a single punch with a powerful force that knocked the wind back and making me fall faster than it was intended, the unit that I had summoned slammed to the roof of the building and was slowly vanishing back to Cray.
While I was falling with my back first collided heavily with the cemented floor, and hearing a small crack. 'Urgh… that was a pretty bad fall, I just hope it doesn't affect me too much'
I lied still on the floor unmoved by what was happening around me, two units were summoned and an injury to boot. It is not looking good for me, if I don't move now I will be a sitting duck.
"Nomu… kill that kid" I heard the hand's guy said while his attention was on my three classmates.
The muscle guy was aiming towards me from up above, and if I don't do something soon I'll be dead meat. "Call Issault" I braced myself for impact because there was nothing I could do at this moment but wait for the shield girl to come, and my body couldn't react fast enough because slight movement sends jolts of pain towards my entire body and silently begging for me to not move because it hurts… a lot.
I closed my eyes expecting the punch to be painful and then hurt, but nothing happened. I opened my eyes to witness a shield right in front of my face and Issault lying next to me with a smile on her face.
With a grunt, Issault pushed her shield away from her with the Muscle man thrown off away from us. "That was great timing Issault…" I said slowly standing up while ignoring the pain from my body. "Better summon some reinforcements… right?" I asked the shield unit and she nodded reluctantly.
I know she is worried about me, but she knows that this fight isn't going to end anytime soon and me summoning other units might be a risk but she knows we can't win this fight without any help.
"Don't worry I'll call the unit who specializes in reinforcements" I said offering the shield unit with a smile. She knows what I meant so she wasn't worried anymore. "Calling Barcgal" a mechanical dog with a short sword in its mouth appeared from the card that I just held, and when he appeared he sounded concerned for my well-being.
It's great to see that my units care for me, but this isn't the time for that. "Barcgal… call for friends to aid us in this fight" I commanded the dog unit, and with a howl, two units appeared in a blue portal.
"Arf!" It was a pink dog with pigtails that came out from one of the gates, and another was a scrawny knight that has a dog for a partner that came out of the other. "It's good to be summoned back," the knight said.
"I need you guys to get Mr. Aizawa back to the 13. He needs medical attention immediately and 13 is a rescue hero he might know any basic first aid. Issault will handle the Muscle guy" I commanded and the 2 dogs and knight who all understood what I said.
With a growl from Barcgal, the three units charged headfirst and prying the thugs that were starting to gather around Mr. Aizawa. I focused all my attention on the big boss, the literal Muscle Brain Man.
"Nomu… finish off that kid fast!" I heard the supposed leader ordered and I quickly diverted my attention to the 'Nomu' that has sped his fist towards my direction, but a shield got in his way, while a series of shockwaves were resounding because of the impact. "He has a cheat code of a quirk, he is going to be a thorn in our plans if we don't stop him immediately"
"Arg…" I heard Issault yelp, the force of the punch is getting to her. 'This is bad… if this keeps up then our last line of defense from these people will be toast' I thought worriedly and the horrifying thought of witnessing my classmates bite the dust because of what the hands guy is going to do.
"I've got to compliment you kid… you have a pretty powerful quirk, I wonder what other things you could achieve…" the supposed leader of the group said, and it made me quite worried that I had gotten the attention of these people. Mr. Aizawa warned me about this...
An all-powerful punch made Issault stumble back crash landing into me. 'There goes our defense…' I grunted from the pain of both the weight of Issault and the earlier injury I obtained.
"Barcgal, Flogal distract this thing and be sure to be annoying about it too. Let Llew handle Aizawa for now. Froggy, Purple ball, and Midoriya I need you three to assist Llew" I asked the three of my classmates who gladly obeyed my instruction, but I seem to notice that Midoriya was reluctant to follow. I hardened my stare and that made him obediently follow what I said.
"Issault I know you're hurting but you have got to fight this battle. Please!" I asked the girl who struggled to stand on her feet, but with pure determination, she had stood up her feet and activated her powers.
"Shield Stance!" she chanted and this little power of hers grants protection to allies, it has little shields surrounding each of them, preventing physical attacks from getting them.
"Issault had enchanted a defense spell; physical attacks won't work on them now. Especially you're decaying quirk" I said to the leader of the villains, and making Midoriya and the others move faster to get Mr. Aizawa.
Both of the dog units kept on doing howl attacks and poking the Nomu, and it was quite hard to see because they often dodge the attacks but most of it created a small crater. 'That Nomu's power really is something; I can even compare it to All Might'
With both of the dog units doing a howl, the Nomu had finally gotten a good punch at them making them both disappear in an instant. "Barcgal, Flogal. NO!" I yelled and the exhaustion finally is getting to me. First summoning Dream Eater, then Jarran and these 2 dog units… they are all eating my stamina away. If Barcgal is gone then the units he summoned will follow too.
I landed on one of my feet at the pavement in ragged breathing. 'This is not going well if this keeps up and no help arrives. I'll be dead meat… Todoroki, I told you to be quick where are you now?' I thought wincing in pain and my breath started to accelerate because exhaustion is biting me now.
"Looks like the kid is tired… and your shield girl is running on empty. I guess this is goodbye to the both of you" the hands guy said, and with a nod, the Nomu had started to punch Issault's shield relentlessly without Mercy.
With one final punch, we were both blasted off towards the cliff of the pavement where the water started. However, before the Nomu could finish us off, a resounding sound of a door breaking because of a force so strong rang throughout the place we were in, making every person's attention towards the main entrance.
Out of the smoke that the force had created is All Might in his teacher uniform. 'Thank goodness we are saved in the nick of time' and upon witnessing that All Might had arrived I could finally breathe easy and let down some of my guards.
In a matter of moments, we were saved because of All Might's speed, 'That was fast… glad that he was here to save both me and Issault'
"Stay back here young Kold, I got this. If you can move try and get to safety if you can, I promise I won't let them get to you" The symbol of peace assured us and it finally gets me to relax a bit.
The fight had continued and is now between All Might and the Nomu. All Might tried a cross chop towards the leader, but the Nomu had stood against him tanking the attack like it was nothing. 'Looks like I underestimated that creature… he is both physically strong and his quirk is also regeneration' I thought thinking back to the time that he took a fire beam from Jarran and came out scathed but quickly healed like it was a prick of a needle.
Nomu tried to grab All Might by both of his hands but was proved to be slow to react because All Might duck down from his assault. The pro attempted a punch to the face, hoping that it could discombobulate the gigantic villain, and then again it was proved to have no effect on him.
"It doesn't matter where I punch the thing…" All Might commented while giving blow after blow to the Nomu, while also trying to dodge every slow attack of the thing, compared to All Might that is.
"That is because Nomu has Shock Absorption…" the supposed leader said, and that made my body run cold. 'I thought he had regeneration or recovery quirk, but Shock Absorption. Does it mean that this has multiple quirks?' that has got to be the explanation. There is no way shock absorption could handle a concentrated fire attack, there is just no way.
"The only way you could defeat him is to slowly gauge out his flesh, but of course he can't let you do that. In other words, you have met your match"
"Thank you for letting me know how to beat him" All Might reply, quickly dodging an oncoming punch and made himself to the backside of the huge villain. Wrapping All Might's arms at the waist of the villain and doing a Supplex while also creating a huge smoke that covered both of them.
"All Might be careful, that thing does not only have Shock Absorption!" I screamed warning the pro hero while wheezing the exhaustion out of me.
"Kold! We better get you up there; who knows what will happen if you keep pushing yourself like this?" Midoriya arrived trying to coax me into leaving this fight to All Might. However, I doubtfully headed his worry, 'I know I shouldn't be stubborn at the moment but I want to witness this fight with my own two eyes'
"I agree summoner Kold, there is a need for you to rest easy. We've all did what we can and it is better to let the pro hero handle this. We don't want to be a burden to him much longer" Issault joined in with Midoriya in convincing me to go up and rest easy.
"If you really think is for the better…" I started to stand up, but as the smokes were clearing we three made a huge stop and see the position All Might was in. 'This is bad… so bad…' I thought, horrified at what I had witnessed.
It was All Might doing a Supplex pose, but rather with the Nomu's head on the concrete floor, a portal opened up beneath it and directed towards All Might's back with the Nomu holding on his sides. It also looks to be squeezing the heck out of him; I can see the outline of bloodstain in his white polo that All Might had worn.
All Might had let his hold go from the Nomu and focused all his strength on trying to force the Nomu to let go of his bloodied side. 'Crap… if this keeps up and that Nomu will drag him into the portal, he will die during the process. The misty guy could just close the portal halfway of All Might's body and it will be the end of him'
"Midoriya, Issault we have to save him or else it will all be too late…" I said to both of the people present here.
They had nothing to say and they both just stared at the pro with horrified eyes. Without much of a thought, Midoriya rushed in to save his idol hero. "Issault!" I said to the unit, and she immediately knew what I want her to do.
"Defense Stance" she chanted, and a little floating shield surrounded the green boy and me. 'This is kind of a handy ability of Issault, it protects a wide range of people but it leaves her open to be attacked'
Midoriya lunged forward without another thought; he just wanted to save his idol in his predicament. However, as he took a giant leap a portal found itself in front of the green-haired boy, but an explosion had disrupted the flow of energy from the misty guy.
"Get out of my way Deku!" it was Bakuguo intercepting the Mist guy's quirk and then holding him down hostage. I think Bakuguo found the guy's weakness; good for him he finally showed that he could use his head.
At a moment's notice the guy that I had finally waited to arrive finally came, and blasted a frozen ice attack towards the Nomu's right side, preventing the thing from furthering the damage he had done at All Might's right bleeding side.
"Nice of you to show up late… Todoroki" I said to the icy guy that had just arrived in the nick of time. 'They say the hero arrives at the last minute, and I guess it is kind of true'
"Yeah… glad that I made it just in time" he nodded at my way and carefully notice that I was injured and exhausted. "And you look like you need the time to rest," he said eyeing my form and the unit that was beside me panting.
"I sure do… but now is not the time for that" I replied with a smirk on my face.
All Might had finally gotten the chance to relieve himself from the grip of the Nomu, he did a flip towards Todoroki's side, while also putting pressure on his wounds. Then the red-haired, Kirishima had jumped out of nowhere to get a hit in on the boss of the villains, but had terribly failed and had retreated back to our side of the field.
"Issault…" I turned my attention towards my defense unit and with great exhaustion, she understood what I meant. Another slam of her shield and her enchantment had reached towards the people at our side, except for the villain that was held captive by Bakuguo.
"What the heck is this?!" I heard the explosion boy asked and had tried to make an explosion towards the little shield that has been floating around him.
"Don't you even dare!" I yelled to the blonde boy, preventing him from undergoing his test plan. "That little shield you have is an enchantment made by my unit to protect you guys from physical attacks and you better be grateful for it because it can save your assess from one impact from that Nomu and negates the quirk of that hand's guy"
'It's not entirely true that it could handle an impact from the Nomu, but it could withstand it to some extent, but a full-powered punch from the guy then that's another story. I just hope that villains don't catch on to that little information'
"Nomu…" the Nomu thing started to move, forcibly I might add, the guy forced his body to move out of the portal making its frozen right part shatter into pieces and showing the muscles of the body.
It was a gory and nice thick piece of meat, and this in turn made the people at my side shudder in fright. 'It's to be expected, I mean who in their right might would move when they are frozen in place' but I know that any seconds now the detached body parts will grow back.
"So, this is what you meant by it having multiple quirks…" All Might said directing his attention towards my person who is now at my knees and growing intensely tired from all of this. "That thing also as super regeneration"
"Nomu has been modified to defeat you even at your 100 capacity. Think of it as something to a punching bag that hits back. A perfect counter for the symbol of peace" A wave of nausea hit me and I fell on the floor while still trying my hardest to keep my eyes open.
"Kold!" Midoriya said in worry also coming down at me trying to see if I were okay or not. "I think you should sit this one out…" he asked and I just disregarded his suggestion. If I throw in the towel now, then the villains will have a chance to attack me, or better yet keep me as a hostage.
"Looks like your first defense is starting to wane down… It would be terrible if he dies here, right?" the leader said as it looks to be that he is directing his attention towards my fallen body.
That made the people at my side look rather disturbed, it was like the leader was suggesting something… and it was directed towards me and I do not like the sound of it.
"Nomu…" and just what I had initially thought the thing is heading straight for me.
"Issault, perfect defense!" I commanded risking everything I have in this defense because if I don't then, I don't think I have long to live if that thing gets to punch the daylights out of me or anyone for that matter.
Perfect Defense is the pinnacle of all defensive units, in the game, it is their ability to defend any attack the opponent makes. In other words, they have the power to nullify an attack but the drawback is that they can only use it once and they're gone and that they can only be used once per day. 'I don't know how that works but I guess you could say that the units themselves are limiting their powers in the real world'
In a blink of an eye, smoke covered the entire park, with both the speed and impact of the attack. I didn't even have the time to register the attack but what I do know is that Issault defended the attack for all of us and that she is in front of us with a gigantic shield twice the size of All Might standing against us and the Nomu.
"You have a pretty interesting quirk their young man… I do hope that I could witness it more" the leader said in a whisper that made it all unsettling, to say the least. 'Looks like I have finally caught the attention of the villains… Mr. Aizawa warned me about this, but there is nothing I can do about it now' I thought slowly grunting in pain and kneeling all the way down in my knees.
Issault disintegrated into nothing and it left me quite drain to stay awake and notice everything around me. "That's enough from you young Kold… I am glad by your assist in defending your fellow students but I can take it from here… You, students, can rest easy now" All Might assure us with his smiling face, but with a small drop of blood on his mouth side, I know he is just putting up a show.
I started to feel light-headed and my vision started to fade, but there is one thing I can do to stay conscious, and I am kind of dreading it because I need to summon a unit once again. However, this time it will be a healing unit it could greatly assist All Might's wound and mine if she can do healing at this time already.
With that in mind, I grabbed the card that I needed and chanted the words "Calling… Ygdrasil Maiden, Elaine"
