Chapter 22: Cavalry Battle

Kold's POV

"3… 2… 1… Begin!" the host said declared and it is officially the start of the cavalry battle, and just as expected most of the students are directing their attention towards Midoriya who has the 10 million points.

"Kold, what are we going to do. Most of the students have their sights on Midoriya should we set your 'plan´ into motion?" I could hear the sarcasm in Jiro's voice.

"I know you don't trust my words now, but I still need to get ready" I replied to the girl calmly.

"So, what are you suggesting that we stand on our toes and wait it all out?" she asked clearly annoyed by my lack of action in this event. "… if that is your biggest plan then, I'm so disappointed, all the others are trying to one-up the other and here we are waiting like sitting ducks!"

"Jiro… relax, everything will go according to plan if you keep your head calm" I advise the girl, grabbing both Psychic Bird and Victory Maker. "Okay… let's head to the center of the field," I said to Shoji who immediately led the way.

"Jiro… you have an impeccable hearing without using your quirk don't you?" I asked the girl, but clearly, she was still annoyed at me. "… please, I know you don't trust me yet, but you have to"

"…yeah" she replied shortly avoiding my gaze and scanning the field for any group to come our way.

"Shoji… for now I need you to focus on location, if you could prioritize defense and evade that would be great. The same for you guys too…" I said to them, while I notice that students from Class 1-B were approaching us quickly.

It was a horse-like girl and an insect-like boy, which was also fascinating. It was like a mutual relationship between an insect and an animal. "Horn cannon!" the girl's horns were aiming straight at us.

"Ojiro, deflect it!" I said to the guy, and with a brilliant twist of his tail he immediately prevented us from taking a hit. "Great Job!"

"Incoming, 3 o'clock!" Jiro said and it was a cream white goo stuff coming out from a tall unidentifiable man… not to be mean or anything, I don't know if he is still human with a face like his.

"Ojiro, Jiro prepare to jump and Shoji twist us around," I asked the front student with a nod of his head. "Now!" we three jumped just in time to dodge the white goo.

"We need to keep them off us; we can't keep dodging their attacks!" Shoji exclaimed and I have to agree, this thing is way harder to pull off than I imagine.

"Got it, everyone prepares to jump and Jiro creates the strongest tremor you can!" I said to the girl and I notice that she was wary of the idea. "You just have to do it for a few seconds, then it will be time for phase one"

"Now!" the whole stadium felt the tremor that Jiro made and lucky for us we dodged it. "Call! Dream Eater" I said tossing the card high up in the air and the child elephant appeared yet again. "Dream Mist!"

The child elephant using his trunk blew smoke to the entirety of the field. With his strength now, I doubt he could cover the entire field, but that is why I wanted to be in the middle of the field. "Call Flogal, use the stand trigger on Dream Eater!" I ordered and just when the pink dog appeared she immediately turned into an orb of blue power and flew straight to Dream Eater, making the said unit stronger.

"What does that going to achieve?" I heard one of the students say, and I smirked at that.

"Dream Eater… Mist Arena" I commanded the unit, and with a resounding sound of a high-pitched elephant she blew mist from her small trunk, but this time you can see that the pressure is too high for an elephant of his stature. "This is the plan… Stealth Operation: Mist Arena"

"So, this is your biggest plan… not bad at all," Jiro said and we landed on a thud, and the plan worked because the entire arena is covered in a thick mist. "All the students who don't have a recon capable quirk like I and Shoji will have a pretty tough time"

"That's right, now I want you to focus on hearing where our opponents are. Shoji you're in charge of being our eyes, and Ojiro will be our main defender" I said to my teammates, and that put a smile on their faces. "Call, Psychic Bird, and Victory Maker" I tossed another 2 cards into the air, and appeared a green parrot and a red bird. "You two are our omni-defense and field monitor, update us with the status regarding any students who come close to attack or capture us"

"WHAT'S THIS KOLD HAD JUST MANAGED TO COVER THE ENTIRE ARENA WITH MIST. HOW AM I GOING TO COMMENT ON THE FIGHT NOW!"

"Get a hold of yourself… you can always just shut up and try to figure out who they are based on their figure alone. You are a pro hero after all"

The mist got thicker and thicker, making it hard for me to see past Shoji, or from anyone in my group for that matter. "I hear something from little ways to the right…" Jiro said closing her eyes to focus on the sounds the other contestants were emitting.

"I see… vines? I think… someone might be doing the same thing as I do" Shoji said, and I could see the silhouette of thick strings floating around us. 'Okay this is bad…'

"No one moves…" I mumbled lowering my voice and making everyone shut their mouths with uneven breaths. "Shoji, see if vines are surrounding us… that would be a problem if it is…"

"I think… but it's pretty sloppy, it's not entirely covering our escape routes. I could also see an opening, but I albeit with my size I couldn't get through it" he replied while I was observing the situation we were in.

I never thought that this plan could backfire like this… and now I have to think of something to even the playing field…' GOT IT!'. "Call, Future Knight Llew!" I tossed another card just beside Ojiro. "Llew, I need you to cut these vines for us"

Victory Maker, locate the person doing this and alert Jiro as soon as you find the team" I said pointing at the girl who was supporting one of my legs.

"Got it Commander" With a salute from Llew and the red bird, they quickly played around with the vines while Victory Maker made a run for the person.

"Jiro keep an ear out for the signal, Shoji, try and see if others are trying to get to us, and Ojiro… be ready for anything you are our only close-ranged defense, if anyone gets close it's your job to prevent them from coming after us and if needed… you have to go on the offensive, then do so, without another thought." I ordered my teammates and they were excited for it to happen, as do I.

"Now you're finally giving us a decent plan, instead of keeping it to yourself…" Jiro said with a bit of irritation in her voice. Well, it is to be expected, I didn't have time to explain the plan in detail and I was never confident of it because I lack on follow-ups.

'Technically, breaking off with one of my 'horses' is allowed. The rule just stated that when other teams make another team fall on purpose, then they are disqualified. I have no recollection of any rule that said we cannot break formation ourselves.' I might be border lining in the edge of the rules here but, the mist is still there I doubt they could see what will happen.

"I heard a squeak from over to your right Kold… it seems to be about 20 meters away from us," she said concentrating with her eyes closed.

"Thanks, Jiro," I said looking over to where she was pointing at. "Shoji, do you have a visual on them," I asked while signaling for one of my bird units to fly back to me?

"It seems so… they have a complete team of 4 and looks to me that the green-haired girl is making all of these vines" he replied with most of his eyes looking at that said group. "What is your plan of attack?"

"Let's try a sneak attack first, and then maybe sent Ojiro if doesn't go to plan" I suggested and that made all of them question me.

"Are you insane, we might be breaking the rules" Jiro exclaimed.

"I know… but we aren't" With that statement the two of them are in the dark. I look towards Shoji and have him explain it to them. "I want you to sneak there undetected and use your telekinesis ability to take their headbands" I commanded the unit and with a small nod of his head he flew to the direction I pointed to where the vine girl's group is located.

"So, what you are saying is that Ms. Midnight didn't prohibit us from switching from rider to rider, meaning that it's okay as long as one of us is a rider," she said assuring herself that she understood my line of reasoning. "I may not like it, but I think you might just have found a loophole…"

"Yeah… I thought everyone was aware of it, but I guess not" I said shrugging my shoulders. "Any updates with the surrounding?" I asked the two recon hero students in my group.

"It seems to have multiple footsteps coming our way… and I don't like the sound of it at all," she said with a worried voice.

"I see multiple figures coming from everywhere" Shoji affirmed my thought. "They are closing in on us!"

I turned to our only close combatant member, "This is it Ojiro… you ready to make a storm?" I asked with a smirk on my face.

Our plan may not have been followed up to a T, but I know that we can still win against this adversary with Ojiro in our midst. "Not really sure, but I'll try my best"

"That's good enough for me… When I give the signal jump as high as you can Victory Maker will fly you up, and once you do avoid direct combat, hit and run… that's the plan and leave the headband snatching to Psychic Bird" I explained to the guy and that just made him much more determined not to fail. I don't even know why, but he got determined all of a sudden, and I am not complaining.

"FUCK THIS SHIT!" damn… I really thought he wouldn't be so unpredictable. Bakuguo had launched himself up above the smoke, albeit finding Dream Eater and making this mist disappear. "I KNOW YOU'RE BEHIND THIS, YOU FUCKING COWARD!"

"Looks like a problem has just gone up, I really did think that he wouldn't be so persistent to move in blindly" I grumbled and it made everyone sweatdrop at my comment. "Okay, let's do this Ojiro… let's be quiet and quick we don't need to get his attention. That would spell trouble for us, and that goes to Todoroki's team too, please keep an eye out for them"

Ojiro and I switched places, while I also made sure he was wearing the headband, and Victory Maker swooped in and grabbed him in his collar and into the mist, where I don't see him anymore. "Guys keep an eye out for them too… I know I am asking too much from you two, but I do need your help to get through this"

"No problem… I can just make more eyes to cover them" Shoji replied creating another set of limbs with eyes attached to it. 'I didn't know he could do that… but it helps us, so I am not complaining

"I can hear explosions from above… I guess Bakuguo has already discovered Dream Eater and had already engaged in combat" Jiro said in frustration, maybe because of the loud noises she keeps hearing. "Others are all starting to make their move; footsteps are making it hard to pinpoint their location"

Damn, I really thought that they wouldn't adjust this quickly. Yaoyorozu must have already created something to counter this, and Bakuguo has the advantage on the sky, and others from Class 1-B are still unknown to me which makes them hard to deal with.

"Kold we've got to move. If we risk standing here and doing nothing we could end up with multiple opponents" Shoji suggested, and I was biting my bottom lip in frustration. 'I really thought that this plan will work to our advantage… I underestimated my peers and now I'm paying the price for it…'

"No… I think it's safe to not move around, with that we can't risk exposing our position, and if anyone does discover our position Jiro could cover us with trembles, while you could go in for offensive" I replied with my head down ashamed for putting this all upon us.

"Kold's plan is a decent one. He has teamed up with recon quirks and worked around that to his advantage, but he miscalculated that every student can adapt or also have recon quirks at their disposal. Which makes this fog both advantageous for them and also a disadvantage" I can hear Mr. Aizawa not pulling any punches with his criticism of my method of attack.

"As you all heard looks like our brilliant Kold is now suffering from his mistake, how will he recover from this?!" Present Mic, really outdid himself and especially Mr. Aizawa, he hit the nail right on the head. "What's this, the scoreboard has suddenly shifted! Looks like team Kold definitely has something planned out"

"Quick Psychic Bird!" I yelled at the fog, hoping that the green parrot had heard me loud and clear.

"SWITCH!" I heard one familiar sound from Ojiro, and that only mean one thing.

I jumped high enough to grab both Ojiro and his headband that he stole from him and put our score on my head and the other one around my neck. "Brace yourselves, everyone, they are coming for us. I couldn't shake them off in time!" Ojiro exclaimed immediately placing himself as the left horse.

"No problem… Jiro!" I yelled and she immediately plugged her earphone jack to the ground while all of us crouched down.

She blasted a loud enough sound to make the entire arena tremble a bit, making everyone start to panic. She only created a small tremor but it was enough of a cover to make others think that there is something big coming. "Everyone hold your breath! Dream Eater… Nightmare Syndrome!" I screamed commanding my elephant unit to secret his ability.

Dream Eater secreted pink misty smoke from his trunk with a small smile in his eyes. I know I can't see the little guy, but I know that he was expecting this thing from me… He can only make a certain number of people see their biggest nightmare but that's beside the point, all I need from him now is to make the riders succumb to his control over their dreams.

"AHHHH!" screams were heard left and right, and it was the perfect time for us to move.

"Psychic Bird, collect as many headbands as you can" I directed my attention towards the flying bird, while Victory Maker surveyed our surrounding and directed us to some students who have their riders in a deep sleep. "This is our chance to counter-attack!" I said to my entire group and I could feel that they were beaming with joy.

"WHAT IS HAPPENING IN THERE! I HEAR SCREAMING AND NOTHING ELSE"

"It says right here that the unit Kold summoned the very first time is called Dream Eater, and basing it on what we witness I guess it's safe to say that this unit has the ability to visit people's dreams or much worse force them to witness their horrible nightmare. My bet is on the latter one."

This was my biggest move yet, Dream Eater's normal power is to make people fall asleep and visit their dreams, but now that he is powered up by Flogal's trigger effect. He can make people hallucinate to witness their biggest fear or dare I say their biggest nightmare. "What the hell is happening to them?" Jiro asked in worry.

"There's no need to worry, in about a minute or so it will be finished and Dream Eater will disappear as well as the mist. So, let's get as many headbands as we can" I smirked at them.

"Remind me not to be on his bad side…."

True to my words a minute had passed and the Nightmare Syndrome started to vanish together with the smoke that Dream Eater had created. With it being gone, I could see the result of my work had done. I know it was underhanded for me to let them see their biggest fear, but it was necessary enough to save my mom.

"The students have about 8 minutes left before time runs out, better get your buts moving if you still feel the need to continue," Present Mic said, and it made everyone that was still daydreaming snap to their senses and was looking everywhere until their eyes fell on me with fire in their eyes.

Psychic Bird handed down the headbands he got which were two, and added it to the one headband we retrieved from a team from Class 1-B. I can safely say that we are in the top 2 and it was good enough of a standing for me. "Now what is your plan of action?" Shoji asked noticing that mostly the Class 1-B students were aiming their attention at me.

"Simple… defend and evade, with Jiro's tremors, your replication of limbs, and Ojiro's pure strength for defense. They can't retrieve their headbands that easily" I said in pure confidence.

"Don't forget to mention that you still have units that are capable of doing it for us" Ojiro pointed out, but I just shrugged off his claim and focused my attention to the group that was aiming their attacks at us.

"I retire Victory Maker, and call Issault! Shield Wall!" I ordered and as she appeared two sets of shields appeared in both her hands and used them to defend the entire onslaught of attack towards us.

"Nice going Kold," Ojiro said in glee. "But is there any way you could spare a shield? I think my tail could handle blocking from the back?" he suggested and I was completely on board with that plan. I nodded Issault's way and she handed me one of her shields.

"How about you get two small shields to use for attacking Jiro?" I asked the female in our team and she was questioning me.

"How is that going to happen?" she asked clearly confused by my offer.

"Isn't it obvious, you can make things tremble right? And just making the shield vibrate will make it stronger and hard to catch, it could prove really useful when you are in a pinch" I said stating a fact that was plainly there, she hasn't even considered.

"I'll try" she answered, and that made Issault make two petite shields from her arm, and Jiro picked each one with her Earphone Jacks while making it vibrate by the sound of her heart. "I guess you are right… but I don't think I could vibrate them long enough to be able to make it an offensive attack"

"Don't worry, now that you know that it is possible you could train to do it with other materials and have an arsenal of deadly weapons at your disposal" I said and once again noticed the other team ganging up on our team.

"What is this?!" Jiro screamed and looking at the ground it looks to be soft, like it was some kind of mud. "Is this somebody's quirk?"

I scanned the whole people coming after us, and it was the guy with a skull-like smile always present on his face. "It must be the skull face guy's quirk; his team is with the vine girl"

"We're stuck! I can't move my feet in this" Ojiro said trying his hardest to be able to move away from this quicksand of a floor. "What do you think we should do?!"

"This is going to be far more tiring than I originally thought…retire Psychic Bird and Call, Iron Tail Dragon" With a shine from one of the cards I am holding and throwing it up into the sky the wyvern dragon once again made an appearance.

"WOW! WE'VE SEEN THIS UNIT BEFORE AND IT IS IRON TAIL DRAGON. Things are heating up now, literally!"

"Iron Tail get us out of here and while you're at it fire a 5% fireball in their way that would be enough to stop most of them on their tracks" I commanded the dragon and he complied without much of a grunt of dissatisfaction.

"Move it!" some of the students dodged the attack while I notice one student, in particular, made a deep breath and blew a breath-stopping the fireball from hitting his team.

"This will be good, no one could handle being airborne for quite a long time" I reassured my team while we all were being grabbed by the claw of the wyverns feet.

"You know… you could have done this the first time" Jiro said looking at me with a dumbfounded expression on her face, and I notice the others were also giving me similar looks.

"Iron Tail is a pretty hard unit to control, it takes a lot out of me just summoning multiple units at once, and him being a grade 1 is a huge difference of stamina drain. Besides, I wanted to try one of Dream Eaters' special moves, Nightmare Syndrome, and I must say it was a perfect move already" I replied pouting a little because they aren't still letting up with their dumbfounded expression, and it often times screams that I was quite dumb and smart at the same time.

"You can't get away from us that easily!" I heard an obviously loud voice from the ground and I notice the girl with vines for a hair had once again clamped one of the wyvern's feet making us unable to move.

"Are you really sure you want to grab her talons again? Last time I check that was a bad idea" I suggested to the vine girl, but she wasn't doing anything to let my dragon go.

"I've got you now you coward!" I heard an explosive yell coming for me at the rear, which was a weakness of all dragon, who does not have the ability to look behind their back.

"This is bad…" Ojiro said in worry, and I know that this isn't an ideal situation, but this is the only way to avoid most of our opponents in one go.

"Jiro, fling one of our shields at Bakuguo and make this vine vibrate!" I said quickly to the girl who had similar thoughts as I did. "Shoji, make multiple limbs and make us climb up to the back of Iron Tail, that way we have much stability and control over our actions"

"Got it," both of my teammates said in agreement, Jiro's earphone jack had thrown the shield towards Bakuguo who didn't notice the little gizmo aiming at his body. While also plunging both her jacks into the vines and I could notice the vines vibrate and the vine girl reacts in agony.

"AHHHH what a dreadful attack, you must be ashamed of yourself for doing such trickery," she said in anger while retrieving her vines back to her side.

"Take this, you coward!" I sudden huge explosion made its way towards us, but in just the nick of time, Iron Tail's wing had blocked the attack. "What the hell!"

"Iron Tail is a fire dragon… your explosion has no effect on him!" I replied looking at him with a smirk plastered on my face. 'Sucks to be you Bakuguo… any type of fire attack doesn't affect my unit. Now who are you calling a weakling of a unit?'

Shoji had finally made enough limbs for us to climb up, and we settled on our breaths and the rush of adrenaline that is currently washing over us. "Team Kold had just managed to get away from Bakuguo's assault and Shiozaki's vines. Is this his new plan in action?!" Present Mic really did want to make this battle interesting, when in fact we can't do anything anymore.

I look at the scoreboard and noticed that we are currently placed third, and I'm hoping we stay in that place. "Let's wait here until the time runs out, I know it's a coward's way out but at least now we can guarantee that we place just enough to be in the finals and that's good enough for me" I explained to my team and they had a similar though as to me, and it made me quite relieved too, because if they were dissatisfied… I don't even want to think about it.

"You damn coward, hiding behind someone like you used to do to me?! Why did you finally get tired of me that's why you started to avoid me like a plague?!" Bakuguo screamed again, coming after me with smokes following after him, while he aimed his palms at my team's way from up above.

"Issault! Absolute Defense" I screamed wide-eyed at what the bomb boy was about to do to us. Iron Tail had been covered with a gigantic blue shield that covered the dragon's entire body.

"Look alive folks, Kold has unleashed one of his ultimate defensive moves! And I must say it doesn't shield away from danger!" okay… that pun was terrible. He should be sued for that comment of his.

"See I was right! You shy away from me, but now that you found something much better than me. I will annihilate every single one of your units and prove that I'm the best among the best" he exclaimed while being grabbed by Sero's tape and landed safely on their arms.

'How did Bakugo arrive at that conclusion…? I didn't cower behind him like a shield when we were young, and I explicitly remember that he was the one who approached me first and made it his priority to include me in his and Izuku's expeditions' I was terribly confused by his display in behavior. I get that he is angry that I could easily forget our friendship like it didn't exist, but damn he changed into someone like this, and I was not about to be part of his plan on being one of the greatest heroes that the world has ever witnessed.

Well… it doesn't really reflect now that I entered UA, but the point is that when we were young I didn't have a choice to be with them because… it just felt right to be with them. When Bakugo would go out of his way to include me in every activity that he and Izuku would often do, it just felt natural to be also with them… I didn't think that he thought it was his duty or something to include. I thought he wanted me to be there too…

"…Kold is everything alright?" my teammates might have noticed my sudden change of mood, of what Bakugo had said about our childhood relationship.

"…" I couldn't think of anything to reassure or to answer that question. If I replied with I'm fine, when clearly wasn't, it may lead to ideas here and there that I don't want to entertain at all. "It's nothing… let's just focus on relaxing because once this is over, we have another fight coming right for us"

I could feel my teammate's stare that I could have sworn it was saying that I-don't-believe-you, but they just let it slide for now, which I was grateful for. I didn't really need to face this now, because I have my priorities and Bakugo isn't one of them at the moment.

3rd Person's POV

A few minutes earlier…

Kold had just managed to cover the entire with mist, and it made most of the students stop in their tracks. "What the hell is going on? Is this one of Class 1-A's quirks?!" one of the students from Class 1-B yelled in frustration.

"Don't worry I've got this handled, with my vines I can uncover this deceitfulness" a girl with vines for hair said in determination, while she made her vine hair longer and it somewhat scouted the entire arena for victims.

"Yaoyorozu, produce gas masks immediately, I know this technique Kold once did it during the USJ but at a smaller scale," Todoroki commanded making the deputy of the class comply and made 4 gas masks for her teammates.

"What does this gas supposed to do other than hide everything and anyone from each other?" Iida asked prying his surroundings like an owl searching for its prey during the night.

"I believe he said that this elephant's ability is to make people fall asleep, visit their dreams, and have control over what they see and feel during that process. Basically, it's like he forces people to sleep and take over their dreams" Todoroki replied while he put one of the gas masks in his head, and assisted the others on putting theirs.

"Man… that seriously is OP. He basically has anything for every situation; all he needs is just the right unit and then bam! All's well and ends well" Kaminari exclaimed while pouting his lips like a jealous teenager starving for his crush to notice him.

"Yaoyorozu can you create anything that can help us through this smog?" Todoroki asked.

"I believe so, but I need some time to create it" she replied and their teammates gave that time to her. They had enough time to make it because of the smoke, and it proved to have been an asset rather than a setback for them.

"Deku… do you know what this mist is, it feels kind of creepy," Uraraka said her discomfort with their situation regarding the mist tactic.

"Just as she said… this aura is sinister, to say the least," Tokoyami agreed while he made dark shadow float around their entire team to look out for possible enemies coming their way. Although it was highly unlikely for anyone to move in this situation, those who have recon quirks have the advantage, while those who have strength-based abilities are at a disadvantage.

"Ohhh… I think my quirk could help, it's called Zoom and I can basically see things from afar" their weird support course teammate suggested and it made Midoriya try to think of another plan of action but before he could formulate anything, the support student quickly moved without any warning.

"Hey! No-"

"Move it! The ice guy is coming after us, and he looks to have some sort of binoculars on his person" she said in a hurry while also looking back and forth to where the ice attack came from. "Bad news… it might be a thermal goggle because they are following us almost immediately… OH! I have another idea for a gadget that will surely work for this situation"

"Now is not the time for that! Where are they coming from?" Uraraka asked in hysteria, with all this fog she is practically fighting blind and in hard mode no doubt.

"Now, they are aiming at you for some reason, but I think it's because of the boots. They might be trying to lessen our mobility, and that friends of yours with the glasses are moving pretty quickly that sometimes my eyes can't keep up!" she explained while she was contrasting her eyes to adjust her sight to better suit her needs the moment.

"Great… we're going to be sitting ducks if they manage to immobilize Uraraka," Tokoyami said in worry while his quirk dark shadow was confused and agitated about participating in a fight. "We need a plan of action!"

"Will just have to fight in a place where they can't reach us!" Midoriya exclaimed firing his jetpack and flying above the sky where most of them can't fight them. "Hatsume, you're on lookout duty," he said, breathing a relieved sigh.

That damn coward really is getting on my nerves, first, he lied to me about not knowing what his quirk is, second he could talk to Deku like they were friends again, third, he talks back at me, and now he has the audacity to outshine me! I never really understood myself, as to why I was so into the idea of him by my side when we were still kids, but now I clearly understand that it will never happen again. I am going to make him submit to me, and I will show him that I am better than everyone else; especially to those units of his… they really need to know their place when it comes to power.

"Bakugo, the fog is getting thicker by the minute, and we don't have any recon quirk on our team. What do we do?" Kirishima asked worriedly his supposed leader of their temporary team.

"Who the hell needs a recon quirk? Tape guy keep a hold on me!" Bakuguo launched himself up into the sky searching for Kold.

Bakuguo exploded his way up into the sky and notice the elephant unit spouting mist after mist like there was no tomorrow. "Found your little unit coward…" he mumbled while diving straight down towards the unit at high speed using his quirk.

When he was close enough he made a giant explosion toward the unit, making it cry in pain while Bakuguo quickly pulled on the tape around his waist signaling for his teammates to pull him back to them. 'Finally got rid of that pesky unit of his… it's just a matter of time before the mist will subside'.

In the corner of Bakuguo's eyes, he noticed that his ex-friend was in a dragon similar to what he had summoned in the previous competition. 'I'll be aiming for you this time coward, better watch your back

Kold's POV

I didn't realize that Dream Eater was already gone, and now the fog started to get less thick. 'Damn Bakuguo for ruining that perfect place for a hit-and-run….' I clicked my tongue, but really I can't really think of anything new for the plan to still work. In my mind, we only needed to get points to stay in third place or so, but not below that… I looked at the scoreboard and I notice that we were still standing in 3rd place, and Bakugo was left at 0 points.

"Looks like Bakugo's team lost all their points…" Jiro exhaled a breath she was holding and it somehow made my other group mates lessen their guards a bit, but I know that one can't say is done, until it's done.

'This is bad… I am starting to get tired, everything I had summoned had finally caught up to me'. I started to breathe endlessly and my body started to sweat hard like I just finished a marathon.

"Kold are you okay? You're awfully sweating bullets" Ojiro said peeking at my side to see that my face is covered in sweat, and I couldn't deny his accusation.

"Ahhh! Dude stop sweating so much, it's dripping on me" Jiro exclaimed sounding disgusted by the profuse excess sweat.

"Sorry, I can't really stop it. I have unusually high body temperature; it often blows out of proportion depending on what I am doing, and the atmosphere"

"Is that because of your quirk?" she asked looking at me with a disgusted face in display. 'Yeah… I know I don't like it either but that's why I was close to Bakugo before, his sweaty cold hands were enough to keep me from overheating'

"No… it doesn't involve my quirk, this is just how my body is… can't help it" Tirelessly I wiped my sweat with my shirt while heaving for breath. I can't ask for my unit to fly us any higher, the teachers might disqualify us.

The mist has slowly disintegrated and to my knowledge another wave of exhaustion welcomed me. 'This is bad… Dream Eater had been defeated, and this time Bakugo will definitely find me

"Found you, coward?!" I heard a scream not far from where we were flying, and it was definitely Bakugo coming in full speed.

"Guys, defend our bands no matter what. Any minute now this round will be over" I encouraged the team despite me being overly overwhelmed by exhaustion. I really need to make myself train for endurance, this cannot happen again.

"TIME'S UP!" the bell rang before any of us could make a move. Bakugo had fell face first on the ground because of it. It was a pleasant treat to witness.

I retired all my units that have been summoned and it somehow made me feel less tired because of it. Thank God because if that weren't the case I would already be on the ground on my back trying to get some shut-eye and sleep the rest of the sports fest.

"How did we do?" Ojiro asked, and I looked up noticing that we were in 5th place. Some team named Shinsou had scored 100 points ahead of ours. Then 3rd was claimed by Bakugo, the second was from Midoriya's team, and 1st place was claimed by Todoroki, an amazing achievement of having to retrieve the 10 million points from Midoriya's group.

I look for the other groups and they unfortunately have zero points. However, the news was not over yet, because they are announcing who goes to the next round, and here I am hoping that we could have made it in.

"After careful analysis of the events that unfolded, we deem all 5 teams moving on for the next round!" that announcement just made my day. "However, because there are an uneven number of students the judges have deemed it necessary for an elimination round!" I hate it when that happens… it was only supposed to be good news. "Will all team leaders kindly step forward and claim a number base on their standing on the board" Midnight ordered and I, together with Todoroki, Midoriya, Bakuguo, and a person with messy lavender hair, with eye bags that rival Aizawa also claimed one of the badges.

"You 5 will have to participate in a battle royal, and whoever gets one person eliminated will then be eliminated from the next round, as well as their group mates" With wide eyes I stared at midnight as she told me the biggest secret of all time.

The sports festival only has 3 known stages, according to past events, but why are they changing it now. This is going to be a pain, not only do I have to survive this, but also need to win, in order for my mother to be saved, and not to mention I'm already quite exhausted from the last two rounds.

"We will begin in 5 minutes, be ready before the time. And always remember… fair battle, and especially no flying for the rest of the battle. The judges need to evaluate how you are able to handle fighting multiple opponents at once" Midnight said before dismissing us all.

We all made our way toward our team's spot, and they were definitely looking at me expecting me to win in this round so that they could move up to the next event. 'No pressure… really, no pressure indeed'
