I'm sorry for not posting for over a year, I had gotten bored of the story and had switched to trying to come up with original stories. Had some ideas, but wasn't able to turn them into full-on stories because I had only small parts of each story figured out. So I decided to practice with stories I had already fleshed out the plot of. So I'm back!

3:41 p.m

I was sitting on the bus. Leaning my head against the window, watching as the surroundings change dramatically. I wasn't paying much attention to it though. My mind was spinning, how could it not? I was 15 and had been drafted.

I didn't know how long I'd live. Maybe long, maybe not.

I wasn't paying attention, so I was surprised when I felt someone sit down on the seat next to mine. I turned around to see the man from earlier sitting next to me.

He gave me a lopsided grin when I turned around to face him.

"Hey there," he said.

"Hey," I replied briskly. I had already turned my attention back to the window.

"My name is William. But I think you already told me that since I told you back at your house huh?" He said rather cheerfully, scratching the back of his head with a small silly grin on his face.

"Yeah," was my only response. I had wished he would stop talking to me. I was trying to make it clear that I didn't want to talk to him. But he had other ideas.

5:43 a.m

Dawn had just arrived. I could see the outline of the sun rising over the horizon. A small sliver of orange, shortly followed by a gorgeous medium light blue hue as the sky brightened up.

It was a wonderful sight to behold.

It was still very early. Most of the townsfolk were in bed. I ran into a few people opening up their business to get ready for the day. I came across a baker hauling in ingredients for his products, and a man taking count of wood pieces for the furniture he was making. Neither of them paid me any attention. They were too busy with their own stuff anyways.

Also maybe because I wasn't wearing my Magma uniform. Yeah, maybe that was it. I was simply another person going about their day. Just some random person going on a walk in the early morning.

Except that last part was wrong. So very wrong.

I was May Sapphire Maple. Former Hoennic soldier, current Insurgency member who was infiltrating the town's Magma headquarters for information. And I was not going on a walk. I was going to give my new intel to the insurgency leaders. Information that may be important in the long run.

I walked at a steady pace so as not to gain attention from the very few people outside. I greeted people whenever they greeted me first. Otherwise I minded my own business. I walked for about 15 minutes to a small Antique shop in the middle of town. It was a small black building, paint falling off the walls. It was an old building for sure. But you could still make out the name if you looked hard enough.

Finch Antiques.

I entered and was greeted with a young, handsome, darker toned man at the counter. He looked up at me surprised, and then forward again. I followed his gaze to see my good friend browsing through the selections. Not far inside was an old lady and a small girl I suppose was her granddaughter. I paid no attention to Wally and he paid no attention to me. But he did notice my arrival and began to browse the items at the window.

It was his way of keeping watch without it seeming too obvious. He skimmed through the selections while he kept a lookout from the corner of his eye. He stood sideways so he could keep an eye on the outside and the two people inside. He picked out a book and began reading.

I walked right past him and made my way around all the shelves packed high with old merchandise. The store was an utter mess. No sense of organization at all. And it smelled like rotting corpses. I hated it there. But nevertheless, I persevered.

I walked up to the man and stopped in front of the counter. He gave me a charming smile. While he smiled at me I couldn't help but smile back in amusement. He seemed very confused as to why this random girl was standing in front of him. I then shuffled through my bag and pulled out my copy of "A Dark Night for Me." His eyes began to glimmer with realization.I flipped it to page 127 and looked back up at him.

Then, I began to whisper. "Mr. Finch, I very dearly must say that this line is truly fantastic. 'May the darkness be your veil child. May the darkness be your veil child.'"

I looked up at him expecting him to respond. He gave me yet another charming smile as he pulled out a piece of paper and put a pencil in his left hand. He then opened his palm up to me. My fingers reached out and brushed over his palm for a second, waiting for an answer

"That is a most atrocious line, Miss Grumpig," he answered. The codewords had just been spoken. I then continued talking to him. Just the usual gossip about town.

While doing that, I tapped my information in morse code into his right hand. In his left, he recorded everything I said. In morse's dots and lines. We talked for a few minutes, even after I finished giving him the information about the Oldale Ruins.

After a while, I said my farewell to him and went to browse around the merchandise. The young girl kept staring at me which made me uneasy… but she was just a kid. The possibility of her being a spy was low… like very low.

After a few minutes of me browsing through the merchandise, I saw Wally walk to the man at the cash register.

"Thank you Finnick. How was your day?" He asked while passing over an antique clock he wanted to buy (why he bought it I have no clue. We weren't told to buy stuff… just to browse).

"Well it is still early morning Wally… I still have much of the day to go through," the man I had talked to just minutes prior said to Wally.

Wally gave a little laugh. "I suppose you're right. Well I must get going. Tell your father I said hello."

"I will. Have a good day Wally," Finnick said, giving my friend his clock. Wally gave him one last smile, and left without looking once in my direction. He took a left and that was the last I saw of him.

I smiled down at the little girl and her grandma. To my surprise the young girl smiled back. Her grandmother took no notice of me.

I kept going around the shop, just doing some real weird fake crap. Finnick kept looking at me as if he was trying not to laugh so I guess I must look ridiculous.

Shortly after the little girl and her grandmother left I left too. I gave Finnick a little hand wave and went outside.

3:15 pm

I hung out a bit around town before heading out to the Ruins. I did my job, watched the scientists as they did their own jobs and kept tabs on everything they recovered.

Boring work to say the least. I was glad when the one hour lunch break finally arrived.

"Alright, it's 3:00 pm everyone. Lunch hour ends at 4:00. Good work. Don't come back late!" I said as I clapped my hands to get their attention.

I heard most people sigh with relief. Even the guards. People got up, dusted themselves off, and left in groups with bags or boxes in their hands. I waited until the last of them left before I followed them out.

The groups in front of me chatted merrily as they walked. Every once in a while one of them let out a laugh. I followed them for about five minutes until they walked into a cafe.

I kept going because I had left my lunch at headquarters. I watched the surroundings around me.

The town was much different now when compared to early morning. For one, all the businesses were open. People were milling around doing their daily activities.

The town school children were running around playing tag as well. School must have ended for the day. People sat in restaurants eating the food, or just sitting outside.

But still… there was a certain uneasiness in the air.

People didn't look at ease. Their eyes bounded left to right as if someone might attack them. Their fingers fidgeting, feet tapping rapidly.

And whenever they saw a Magma member, their eyes fell to their shoes, they looked away… most got up and left. I looked down at my own feet.

I was used to this behavior by now. It happened so often. I understood where their fear came from. I truly did.

My hatred and fear of Magma was probably worse than theirs. I'd seen what they could first hand to their own soldiers during the war.

I would never forgive them for what they did to me during that final battle. The reason why they hate them so much… This battle against them was personal. Very personal.

I felt my feet unconsciously speed up. While I was used to this treatment from the townsfolk… it didn't mean I liked it. I hated being associated with such vile people. But… if this could bring them down then I'm willing to do it. Anything for Magma's downfall.

Thump!

I swore under my breath as my foot hit the concrete stair of the headquarters. I jumped on one foot as I gripped my injured one. A few people stared at me but that was the least of my worries.

After a minute the pain subsided, I continued up the stairs pretending I wasn't acting ridiculous a second ago.

"Hello there," I said, waving at the person at the front desk.

"Hello ma'am," the grunt said timidly. She was clearly remembering the first time we met and she was less than nice to me.

I walked past her and was heading to my office. But alas like all good stories there is a twist. And this twist is a major one.

As I rounded the corner I clashed head on head with some grunt. The multiple papers he was holding in his hands went flying everywhere.

"Oh my Arceus I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to crash into you like that. I apologize!" He said while bowing up and down again in remorse. He then got down and hastily began picking the papers up. I just sat on the ground, stunned. (He was much bigger and heavier than I was so of course I fell to the ground).

"No worries," I replied, massaging my lower back which took the impact of the fall. "I'm alright. What are you doing to be in such a hurry anyway?"

The man looked as if he was gonna sprint off before answering my question, but then his eyes fell onto my indenture badge (I'm beginning to like this badge) and thought otherwise.

"Oh, the Lieutenant Admin asked me to deliver these documents for his meeting. So I rushed over to his office, grabbed them and am currently delivering them. I really must go ma'am, you seem like a really nice lady but the Lieutenant Admin really isn't. He is a scary man." The grunt seemed very panicked now.

First of all… me? A lady? I just entered adulthood like just over a year ago… a lady makes me seem old. I was rather affronted.

But the surprise of being called a "nice lady" was brief. It was his other words which caught my attention. Documents? Meeting?

What was Hunter doing?

I was curious… so I did something which surprised me even that day.

"Here let me take them for you," I said, reaching a hand out.

The grunt blinked. "Ma'am?"

"Let me take them for you. I feel bad that I bumped into you like that (to be clear I was not the one to bump into him, he bumped into me). Come on, I'm alright with doing this," I gently prodded him.

The man looked split for a second. I don't know what was going on in his head then, he didn't have to see Hunter again, and like he said… that man is scarier than the devil.

But now that I think about it, if he wasn't the one to bring back the papers to Hunter, it may have looked bad for him.

"Yes ma'am," he said, handing over the papers with a bit of hesitancy.

"Thank you," I said, grabbing the papers from him. "Where do I bring these?"

"To meeting room A6, you'll see Hunter in there with two men, one older man and another younger man who I presume is his son. You'll hand it to Hunter of course," the grunt said pointing down the hall.

"Ok… by any chance do you know what this meeting is about?" I asked looking up after I looked at the documents and understood absolutely nothing.

"We'll I think Lieutenant Admin is getting our research equipment updated. Getting new state of the art machines and everything for the Ruins project. You know, the one you're leading." He said matter of factly.

"Ah," I said. I could see where Hunter was coming from, I had complained to him for quite a while on the behalf of my scientists who were complaining that the current machinery was a hassle…. That is after I got the courage to do so.

"Wel be better off Brigadier, we've kept Lieutenant Admin waiting long enough," the grunt said.

"Yes you're right. Right; I better get going thanks," I told the grunt.

"Yes ma'am, oh and thank you!" He said, he then watched me as I walked off.

My feet guided me through the wicked maze that was headquarters. I've memorized where almost everywhere was (everywhere important at least) but still got lost like two times. I made it to the meeting room after like five minutes.

I was about to open the door and enter when the people inside caught my eye.

Through the door window I could see three men. One I immediately recognized as the devil known as Lieutenant Admin Hunter. There were two other men, and just like what the grunt said, they looked like a father and son duo.

The older man was looking at Hunter, using his hands to enunciate whatever he was saying. I was intrigued by him. The way he seemed to mouth his words and how graceful he looked doing it.

It took me a while before I realized the son also existed.

I nearly dropped the documents when I saw who it was… I recognized the young man.

My best friend from over 6 years ago.

Drew Hayden.

I quickly walked away from the door. I did not want to see him. Not like this. I was in shock.

Was he with Magma too? Did he support this vile organization? He must, owing to the fact that he was here supplying them with machines.

I didn't want to see him like this… so… vile.

But I had to go in and give the documents though, Hunter would scream at the poor grunt if I didn't.

Maybe I could hide my face somehow… or just put my arm in through the door… or I could…

"Hey there Sapphire, what's got you so stiffened up?" Asked a sweet voice as a hand fell to my shoulder.

Thank the great Arceus! It seems he hasn't given up on me. I gave a thank you to Lord Arceus as I turned around and shoved my documents onto the chest of a bewildered Wally Vancouver.

"What the? May what is this?" He said exasperatedly as he gripped the papers in his hands.

"Help me out this one time please Wally," I pleaded. "Just give these papers to Lieutenant Admin Hunter."

"Alright, alright, you don't need to beg with me, I'm always happy to help you out." Wally smiled warmly at me as he grabbed the papers from my hand.

He then walked straight into the room with a wild grin. I couldn't help but to smile.

"Hello sir, I'm here to deliver these…."

"WHERE THE HELL HAVE YOU BEEN? IVE BEEN SITTING HERE WAITING FOR TEN ENTIRE MINUTES! WHERE'S THE OTHER GUY? DIDN'T I ASK HIM TO DELIVER THE PAPERS!" yelled an enraged voice from inside.

Oops, sorry Wally. I forgot that man was always in a mood.

"I'm sorry sir. My apologies sir," Wally said, panic rising in his voice as he bowed up and down hoping to appease the damned lunatic.

After Hunter's yelling ceased after a good minute or so, I couldn't help but grin as I watched Wally nearly knock down the door in an attempt to get out of there. We began walking down the hall.

"Ok, spill… now!" He panted out at me as he regained his posture.

So I spilled.

I told him how I knew Drew. Everything about him.

Wally frowned. "So why was it so bad that you needed him not to see you?"

I winced. I hadn't thought of that. How was I going to explain to him that I didn't want to see one of my very dear friends like that? Profiting by working with such evil people. So I did what no person should do in my situation.

I lied to my best friend.

"If he recognized me I figured it would be bad. Too many questions would arise," I replied, hoping to Arceus he didn't see through my lie.

"That would be bad," Wally replied, hesitantly. I sighed a mental sigh of relief. He did not see through my lie. Now that I think back on to this incident, I am glad he didn't bring Harley up. Who was another person I knew who knew I was in Magma.

"Well I hope he doesn't stay here long. It could get risky," Wally added, as he peered back down the hall.

"Yeah, well I gotta get going. My lunch break is almost over," I said looking down at Wally's watch.

I looked back up at Wally to see him looking at me with a faraway expression in his eyes.

"Uh Wally?" I asked, fidgeting nervously.

He then leaned into my ear and whispered.

"I left you something in your office, check it out ok?" he said hastily and quickly walked away. I frowned, wondering what it could be.

February 22nd, 2143

3:58 pm

I walked outside and ate my lunch there, savoring the tasty rice balls I had packed for myself. Grinning as I watched the civilians walk around doing their everyday business. I didn't want to go straight back to my office just yet. Even if there was a message for me. It was a good day outside and well… sometimes you just have to enjoy the weather even if you shouldn't be. Every girl has a rebellious side to her. But the other reason was that I knew the building would be emptier in a minute or two since 4 oclock was the end of break for everyone in the building. It would be easier to do suspicious acts of revolution against your nation when there were less people to see your actions.

I watched as a large group of people slowly trekked out of the building, chattering happily to each other as they went back to work.

I sat there for another five minutes before turning around and walking back into the building.

The receptionist looks up in surprise when she sees me pass.

"Brigadier? Is something wr…" she hastily shut her mouth and went back to doing whatever she was doing when I gave her a death glare.

I kept walking to my office. When I arrived I made sure to lock the door behind me so no one could enter the room. I then walked quickly over to my desk and began to shuffle around for Wally's "present".

"What did you leave me you hunk of chunk," I remember affectionately mumbling under my breath.

Took me a while but a slit of paper caught my attention. It was a letter addressed to me. I opened it to see a small poem. I read it over a few times in confusion. Not quite sure what Wally was trying to tell me. On my third reread of the poem, I recognized a four digit number that seemed very out of place for the poem, which had been about bird pokemon and their beauty.

The number was 5048.

5048…5048…. Did that number hold a significance that I should know?

I began to rack my brain for the number. I fell onto my desk chair deep in thought. 5048 in a poem about the beauty of bird pokemon was very unnecessary. The entire sentence it stood in was unnecessary.

5048 bird pokemon flew over my head, a gorgeous sight to see, the birds had beaks of red.

I mean that sentence was a bunch of jibber jabber…. So 5048 must have some sort of re…

I stood up quickly as it hit me straight in the face. 5048 was the address of a building that I passed by everyday. I quickly got up out of my seat and went outside. I walked for a good 10 minutes until I stood in front of a small real estate building. I walked up to it and smiled when I saw its address.

5048 w. Oldale Main.

I began scouring around, looking for… at that point I really didn't know… maybe something out of place. People stared at me weirdly as I walked around. I just smiled at them awkwardly with a hand wave.

I was walking around when I tripped to the ground. I squeaked as I fell face first into the ground. I grunted as a wiped mud from my face.

"Oh come on!" I growled and turned to see what I had tripped over. My anger disappeared as soon as I realized what I had tripped over.

It was a red swan lawn ornament. The poem had mentioned a bird with a red here stood a bird lawn ornament fitting that same description (ok, maybe the whole bird was red, but hey).

I got up quickly and looked around to make sure no one was looking at me. There were people milling around so I discreetly put my hand into the small opened beak, and pulled out something that looked suspiciously like a tampon.

I got up, stuffing it into my pocket. I then walked away from the scene, trying not to look so suspicious.

February 22nd, 2143

9:22

After collecting the "tampon" note from the red bird, I immediately made my way back to the Ruins to finish off the day. From what I can recall, it was a boring day, nothing found. Each and every person in the ruins looked haggard.

As soon as the work day was over, I headed to the headquarters to finish up some paper work I had been assigned to complete. I decided that I might as well take a quick look as to what the note said.

I opened the note to see a weird collection of words strung together as if they formed a sentence. I quickly grabbed out my book "A Dark Day for Me" and used it to decode the note. After around 10 minutes of that I realized what the note was trying to say.

At 10 o'clock, you and I raid Hunter's files. Meet me in front of your house.

Well… that can't be fun. If we're caught we'll have the most torturous death that has ever been heard of.

But a job is a job.

I simply tore the decoded paper into pieces, along with the now torn up note itself. I gently dropped it into the dust pin as I slowly watched it fall down.

I looked at the clock and saw that it was around a quarter to 10, so I decided to pack my things up and start my walk back home.

February 22nd, 2143

10:00 pm

I waited at my front door for a short while, until I finally saw a light green haired man make his way towards me.

I gave him a small smile, and a quick one armed hug. He gave me a hug back and then looped his arm through mine as we walked down the sidewalk as if we were a couple of friends catching up on the latest. Or maybe even a couple.

Of course in reality the truth was very different. We were indeed two very close friends, they would have gotten that much correct. But we were helping in a revolution, a coup d'etat. Something most friends didn't do together.

Wally smiled at me as he brought his lips closer to my ear, I cringed slightly at the close encounter, but leaned towards him nevertheless.

"Can you hear me?" He whispered silently.

I reached for his arm with the one that wasn't looped in his left and gave his left a squeeze in affirmation.

"Good, so here's the plan I've been told. Hunter should have gone home by now, so the headquarters is just about empty. Only a few grunts are there guarding the place. But since you are a much higher ranking officer than them, you can easily slip past them and order them to leave."

We stopped and entered a park. Green trees surrounded the path they trodden down. We smiled at each other as we held onto each other. Keeping up the act of either a romantic couple or a couple of really close friends

We came across a park bench, and sat down. Around us couples hung around, hugging and kissing. Parents stood around watching their young children play with each other. A couple of people were also training and playing with their pokemon. It was a relatively small park.

Wally put his arm around me and leaned towards my ear once more to continue speaking. A few people turned away in disgust from us, thinking we were getting intimate I guess. I remember silently laughing to myself.

"I will go to the security room to disable the cameras for ten minutes. I will play a repeat for ten minutes straight of empty hallways leading to Hunter's office. You will then rummage around looking for something important. Anything that seems unusual. All I heard from HQ was that someone leaked to them that something was being hidden in his office, they don't know what. That's what we're to find out. Is that all understood?" He ended as he withdrew from my ear.

"Yes I understand. But… When did you learn to mess with security cameras?" I asked with a raised eyebrow. This was brand new information. As long as I had known Wally, he never struck me as the techy kind of guy.

He laughed out loud, people were grimacing even harder and giving us even darker looks. I guessed that they thought I had said something dirty to him or something. I don't really remember. All I remember is their sharp gaze.

"They taught me. I have to be able to do something instead of just telling you what to do and making you do all the work." He answered in a slight whisper.

I immediately recognized "they" as the insurgents. Huh, I didn't think they were going around teaching people things, even if it was for the insurgency. Go figure.

"So when do we start?" I asked Wally looking straight at his eyes.

"At around 11 pm. Why don't we hang out until then? Want to eat something?" Asked Wally.

I smiled immediately, my love for food was enormous. Seeing my face light up, and knowing about my abnormally big appetite, he smiled at me.

"It's on me, I won't take no for an answer." He said as he helped me up.

"Ok, just this once." I answered to my dear friend.

February 22nd, 2143

11:02 pm

"Ok May, I'm working on the cameras, it should be done in a minute or two. Get ready for entry." Said Wally through my earpiece. I brought my bandana lower to cover it, so no one would see it.

"Ok, tell me when you give me the clear." I said. I looked at Wally behind me inside a crowded coffee shop not far from the headquarters as he hacked into the security system from there. How he learned it that quickly (he is looking over my shoulder and says he spent a long while training just for security hacking) I will never know. I don't really think you can learn such a difficult skill in a few mere months.

Anyways, I was standing a bit from the entrance of the HQ, out of reach of their cameras until I got the go from Wally.

"Ok May, tech infiltration complete. It's your turn now. You know the route you're supposed to take? From this point on you're on your own. Good luck. I'll be able to hear you if you talk, but I won't be able to see you."

"Ok thank you Wally. I'm going in." I said as I pushed myself off the wall I was leaning against and made my way inside. I used my keys to open the front door and made my way in. I looked around, making sure to see if there was anyone else in the room I was in. There would definitely be a few people in the building, but so far I saw no one. I slowly made my way inside and to Hunter's office. I held a lock opener in one pocket to open the office door as we didn't have a copy of the man's key.

Somehow for the first few turns I didn't run into anyone. I just kept walking, just the sound of my footsteps keeping me company.

"Hey Brigadier Ma'am? What are you doing here?" Said a grunt walking towards me. I can't quite remember what his name was… the years have done wonders to my memory.

"I have to grab something from my office." I answered. "Go back to doing your job grunt, I don't have time for this."

I remember the poor man's face falling. I felt like a jerk. Those words may have been too harsh. But I simply kept walking. I had a job to do after all.

The grunt gave a small little grunt and walked away, to continue on his job.

I made my way to Hunter's office and opened the door. I jingled the lock opener in the key hole for a minute or two until it finally opened. I walked inside to see a surprisingly tidy room. I wasted no time and immediately got to work rummaging around for files.

"I made it inside the office, currently rummaging through Hunter's desk." I told Wally through my earpiece.

"Ok, good to hear. Make it quick." He answered.

I continued my rummaging and found nothing of interest in his desk. Then I moved on to his file draws and whisked through the files, until finally something caught my eyes. I found a blue page with pictures and many words on it. I suspected it was a blueprint for something, but what it was, I could not say at that point. It was a spherical shape. Underneath it was a map, it was a map of Hoenn.

And a single city was circled on the map. The city was Petalburg.

I sat there in absolute horror and vomited in my mouth as I was flooded by terrible memories. Memories of my home, family, friends, and William. Memories I had been trying to forget for a long time.

"Hey are you alright over there?" Asked Wally from the otherside of the earpiece with a concerned voice. "Hey May?!" He sounded very panicked.

I swallowed my vomit and steadied my breathing. Took me a while, but I managed to do it.

"Yeah I'm fine, I found some interesting papers and am right now taking photos of my discoveries. Don't worry about me." I said gently to calm my friend down.

"Ok, but wrap things up quickly. I need you out of there really soon, before Hunter comes back." He answered. I don't think he was convinced but we both let it go."

I snapped a few photos and made sure I could read and see everything clearly. I then pocketed my camera and slowly made my way outside Hunter's room after putting everything back and getting rid of all evidence of my break-in.

"I've left the office and am currently making my way out." I said to him, I jogged through the hallways. Double checking I didn't run into anyone.

"Ok, be careful." He answered.

"I'll be fine, I'm feeling pretty lucky right now," I said with a mock happiness.

"Don't say things like that, you may jinx it!" He said with anger.

"Oh come on I won't don't do anything, calm down." I chided.

Should've listened to him, I should've listened to him.

As soon as I exited the building I saw two familiar faces that made me stop in my tracks. A man with long wavy purple hair seemed to be harassing a man with green hair, the confident way the green-haired man stood made me immediately know it wasn't Wally, who stood with a more unstable stance, due to his illness.

There was only one other man who that could be.

Drew Hayden.

I tried to slip away unnoticed as I took off my earpiece. But to no avail.

"Oh my gods, is that SUGARCOOKIE!" said a loud feminine voice. "HONEY COME OVER HERE, GUESS WHO THIS IS!" Harley said.

I silently cursed my luck as I looked up, hoping that there was a god up there, any god. Rayquaza, Arceus, just anyone to get me out of this situation.

If they were out there, neither listened to my plea as I slowly forced myself to make my way towards the duo.

"May? Is that you?" asked Drew in surprise.

"Hey Drew, it's been a while hasn't it." I said waving at him with a smile. I held my hand out in a handshake, not really thinking. He frowned as he shook it.

"Look at this, the whole gang's back together!... Oh wait, Solidad isn't here so not fully. Where is that girl, I haven't seen her in a while" He pouted.

"Well I really have to go, it's pretty late, it's past 11:30 at night, I need to go to sleep. My job isn't easy as you know," I lightly laughed as I said that. Drew looked at me weirdly, Harley laughed at my remark.

"What's your job?" Drew asked, darkly looking at her Magma uniform.

"I'm a Brigadier Admin," I answered with mock pride, I hope he didn't see through my guise.

"I see," he said, his eyes never leaving my uniform.

"Oh no you aren't going anywhere, this is the first time you've seen each other in years. We need to catch up. It's ok that it's late." Said Harley, grabbing the Drew's and my hands.

"I really should go-" I tried, as I pulled my hand easily from his grip, with a quick twist. He seethed in the sudden hand moment, but quickly regained his smile.

"Oh come on sweetie, plea-" he began.

"Hey May, what are you doing here?" asked a familiar voice a bit behind me.

I turned around to face my savior. Wally huffed as he jogged towards me. He then placed his arm around my waist and pulled me to him.

"I was talking to some old friends, shouldn't' you be in bed." I asked him, thankful for his arrival.

"I was heading home when I saw you here. As a man, I found it my duty to make sure my dear May wasn't in any trouble. " he answered swiftly.

"Who's this?" Asked Drew suddenly. Wally and I turned to look at him.

"Oh this is May's boyfriend," said Harley in a devilishly sweet voice.

"Boyfriend?" Asked Drew, eyes widening.

"Oh no no no. I'm afraid there's been a misunderstanding here. May here is my closest friend, and I hers," said Wally.

I frowned at Wally, wondering if he was trying to start a fight.

"Closest friends? No, that would be us sweetheart. I'm sorry to disappoint you," said Harley.

I scoffed internally. Harley was in no way my friend, and I haven't seen Drew in years.

"I'm not gonna start a fight right now. Come May, you need to go to bed." Wally said as he led me away.

He grabbed my hand and walked, dragging me behind as Harley let out some curses behind him. Drew said nothing.

After we were a good distance away, he turned to me with an annoyed face, tightening his grip on my hand.

"I told you not to jinx it," he said.

"I know, I'm sorry for jinxing it Wally. I truly am." I said, turning away from his face. His grip loosened.

"I know you are, I'm not that mad. Just be careful next time, ok?" he asked me.

"I'll be careful next time I promise." I said. He smiled at me, and we kept walking.

At that point, I wondered what these old characters reentering the new chapter of my life could mean for me.

I hope you enjoyed this chapter as much as I enjoyed writing it (which was a lot)

Reviews are much appreciated.

I don't any of the characters (except for certain characters which any genius can guess) and locations, those belong to the Pokemon Company. I only really own the plot.
