Chapter 11 Acquainted
It's the middle of the night at Huntington Manor. We see Ai sleeping in her room. Her maid, Shiro, took a peek inside she looks a bit worried and concerned she closed her door Shiro leans back at Ai's door and she begins to think in her thoughts.
'Why did something like this have to happen to Ai-chan and her friends tonight, why?!' Shiro exclaimed within her thoughts. She then begins to think back about what they talked about on the way home.
(Flashback)
We see Shiro standing by her car parked in front of Gus's gaming grub. Ai is exiting as she waved goodbye to her friend and enemy.
Ai hastily went to her maid, Shiro. Quickly open the back seat of the car, Ai immediately entered. Shiro notices grazes on the left and right arms of her dress. Shiro narrowed her eyes menacingly as she closes it. She heads for the driver seat, she starts the engine and starts driving.
"So how was your night at the dance? Did you show off any of your skills on the dance floor?" Shiro asked in a bubbly tone.
"I didn't I spend most of the time with my friend Clyde helping out Lincoln with his girl situation. If I need to be technical, he had four girls to deal with." Ai said in a worn-out tone this got Shiro a little bit confused concerned and worried.
"Lincoln had four girl problems what happen?" Shiro asked warringly.
"You don't want to know trust me." Ai said with a dead pan look this is raises Shiro's curiosity on that matter the way her lady worded it but she decided to drop it and focus on another thing that she saw was rather interesting.
"All right, I'll drop it. Speaking of girl troubles, I was surprised to see that you're hanging out with Ronnie Anne with Lincoln. I thought you despised her, given what you've told me about her from Lincoln so what the story behind that? Have you two found a common ground that you're friends?" Shiro asked excitingly curiously, being well aware of Ai's disdain towards her Ai glared at her maid annoyingly.
"I have no interest in being that girl's friend. I'm still going through on making her life miserable if she dares hurt Lincoln or any of my friends emotionally or physically!" Ai stated as her eyes and marks flared up, glowing a very menacing green color. But she merely calmed down and looked at the window of the car Shiro gazed at Ai's outburst with a slight of worry in fear.
'All right, Shiro. Time to address the elephant in the room.' Shiro says as she glances at Ai focuses on the tears on sleeves of her dress.
"Ai-chan I couldn't help but notice the tears on your dress when you enter the car mine telling me what happened to it?" Shiro asked Ai let out a sigh then looked at her maid with a serious look.
"I was wondering you're going to ask about that." Ai said as she begins to regale of the events that happened prior to Shiro's arrival.
"Right after we finished our conversation in the restroom, as I exited, I saw Lincoln and Ronnie Anne talking. I was surprised to see her at the dance, but as I was about to approach them, I found myself mysteriously transported to a forest that I had never seen before, along with Lincoln and Ronnie Anne. As we were talking and wondering what was going on, a mysterious armed figure made its way towards us." Ai said grimly, though a little unease was evident in her voice.
"A unknown figure armed?! Tell me more Ai-chan." Shiro says calmly really she is very nervous to know what's she's going to say next but she braced herself for what Ai is about to say.
"The mysterious figure that approached us was an insectoid type fangre form bee. I'm not sure why it was there in the forest, but I stepped forward and asked her what she wanted. She didn't say much, only to utter my title in Japanese I panicked and I took the hands of both Ronnie Anne and Lincoln and ran off to get away from her and that's when she started attacking us." Ai informed Shiro, which was quite shocking for her to hear.
"By the way before you start overly panicking first off Lincoln and Ronnie Anne don't know my true identity nor do they know I am a fangre. Honestly, I'd rather it stay that way. I don't want Lincoln or any of my other friends including Ronnie to know who or what I am." Ai stated as she continued.
"One more thing, the bee fangre grazed my dress to the point that I was bleeding." Ai said calmly Shiro let out the most loud and horrified gasp of her life upon hearing what Ai just said.
"YOU WERE BLEEDING?!" Shiro shout at the top of her lungs.
"I was but don't worry I got better in case you're wondering how I got better well, remember the armor man who was at the mall who saved you and me? Well, he arrived along with his Pokemon which by the way it's was Kaori and Meni along with a new Pokemon never seen before they were patching me up." Ai informed as she continued.
"Also while I was being treated, his Pokemon were giving some information about our kind to Lincoln and Ronnie Anne so now they know of our existence. They also brought up the name of their master, who by the way he goes by as Kamen Rider Decade." Ai added.
"Anyways, before Decade could fight the fangre, he asked her how many lives she has taken. Strangely enough, she answered his question, and the most surprising answer that came out of her was that she has never once consumed human life, which is pretty unusual." Ai informed Shiro of this surprising news.
"Anyways, Decade thanked her for her answer and he followed up saying that he will save her from her control, which confused me. Then, he transformed into a different set of armor with a double-bladed trident, which looked kind of cool." Ai complimented Decade's appearance.
"After he transformed, he flirted at her, then proceeded to fight her effortlessly. He struck her in the forehead with a headbutt, knocking her out and causing her to revert back to her human form." Ai says.
"Glad he put a stop to this individual and saved all of you. So, what did he do after he killed her?" Shiro asked.
"Actually, he didn't kill her; in fact, he spared her." Ai informed her, which really surprised Shiro.
"What didn't you kill her? That was a surprise. Did he give a reason why he didn't finish off this Fangire?" Shiro asked curiously.
"He mentioned that this particular fangre was being mind-controlled, and I did find something interesting about him. Apparently, he has a code when it comes to our kind; apparently, he only goes after the ones that devour humans maliciously without consent. He seems to know that not all of us are bad, and he also mentioned that he would leave us alone if we don't harm humans. This means that if he discovers what we are, he will leave us alone and just let us live our lives peacefully. I'm really glad to know about that." Ai says happily.
"Well that is wonderful to hear." Shiro said cheerfully happy to know and here that the armored Man they met at the mall known as Decade won't possibly a threat to them.
"so I have to last questions one after the fight how did you left the forest and how did you end up at Gus's game and grub and is there anything else should I know about?"
"After the fight, he asked if we had any questions. We gave him our questions, which he proceeded to answer. In case you're wondering what they are, I'll tell you about it tomorrow. Tonight is stressful, and I just want to get to bed. So, anyways, I want to forget about it. So, anyways, he had the power of teleportation, and he teleported us to Gus's game in the grub. That's how we got out of the forest. But there is another news I should tell you, and it's very bad news." Ai said in another grimly tone, which got Shiro a little nervous.
"What is the bad news Ai-chan?!" Shiro asked nervously Ai put away little nervously then steady herself and looked at her maid seriously
"Decade he knows the existence of the Orphnoch and... he also brought them up to my friend and my enemy as well!" Ai said in grim serious voice.
"What why on Earth would he share this secret with your friends doesn't he realize how dangerous for them to know about their existence it's just as bad knowing about our existence!?" Shiro question.
"I have no idea Meni was the one who dropped the bomb on that whole ordeal, like I said, I'll tell you the rest tomorrow. I just want to go to bed, also, please don't tell Bishop what happened tonight. I don't want him to know anything about this night, and I have a feeling he would try to eliminate Lincoln and Ronnie Anne. As much as I don't like her, I do not wish for her to die." Ai says, lowering her head down frightfully.
"I promise I won't say anything Ai." Shiro says as she continues to drive to Huntington Manor.
(End flashback.)
Back to the present
Shiro, steps away from Ai's door, proceeds to walk down the hallway. After taking a few steps, she stops by a door. She stares at the door for a few seconds, then opens it. Inside, on the other side of this room, is a large, spacious bedroom. Between two windows is a bed, complete with a nightstand and drawers. A couple of inches away from the window lies a couch, and next to the couch is a working desk, complete with a lamp. On the left side of the room is a dresser, along with a large dresser drawer with a mirror. On top of the drawer are a few beauty products, a brush, a comb, along with some nail polish and paint this is her personal bedroom.
Shiro let out a frustrated stressed sigh. She proceeded to walk to her couch, and as she took a seat, she relieved another sigh. Then she took out her phone, turned it on, and went through her contacts. It took her a couple of seconds to find the number she was looking for, which was none other than the contact number of Bishop. She stared at the number briefly.
"I know she said not to tell Bishop what happened tonight, but unfortunately, I swore obedience to all members of Checkmate Four, which includes Bishop." Shiro said in a reluctant and annoyed tone, squinting as she thought about their mere mention of said man.
"And before we left for America, he made it abundantly clear that he should be notified if there's anything that happens to Ai well where in America. Unfortunately." Shiro squinted, annoyingly again but upon mentioning that she couldn't help but think back on the incident at the mall she questions why she didn't tell Bishop about it when he called the first time but she really shrugged that idea and just went back to thinking and what she'll do right now.
"But then again, Her Majesty told me the not to say a thing, and I have sworn my undying obedience and loyalty to the Queen, as did Makoto-san." Shiro says as she briefly thinks about her queen and the rook but her thoughts quickly ended as she heard and felt her phone ring and vibrate return back to reality she sees the name Makoto on it.
"And speaking of the devil, wait... calling him that would be a great insult to him." Shiro said that she answers her phone.
"Oh it's no problem and speaking about problems what's wrong you don't usually call me or Ai-chan unless there's some trouble coming?" She questions these two are relatively close because of the queen there has never been an instance during their times together has he ever been worried about her this came to a surprise for her.
*If you want to know, Bishop has been a little bit angsty since you haven't called in a month. Normally, he would have called himself, though, but he had more important matters to attend to. he hasn't explained to me what they are, so he appointed me to ask you on his behalf, and I'm curious about how Ai is doing. since the two of you moved to Michigan.*
"Well, if you must know, she has been doing wonderfully, Makoto-san. In fact, she has made many friends at her school!" Shiro said with extreme excitement. On the other end of the call, she could hear Makoto gasping.
*Really, that's excellent! How many friends has she made?!*
"She has made five new friends and also fair warning all five of them are all boys friends and she has one female associate that she utterly despises." She responds in a worried and concerned voice.
*Five of her friends are boys, are they at least nice to her? Can you confirm that they have no other ulterior motives for being friends with her!*
"Well, I met two of her friends; one named Lincoln Loud and the other named Clyde McBride. They are very sweet boys, and here's an interesting fact about one of them, namely Lincoln. He is the only boy in his family and has 10 sisters." Shiro informed while having a cheeky smile on the other end of the phone. She could hear things falling and crashing.
*10 SISTERS! Wow, that is surprising. It must be really hard for both mother and father to both keep up and raise them, I hope they have a good job raising that many kids is not cheap.*
"So, besides everything I told you, is there anything interesting I should know about, or is that all you have for me?"
*Really?*
"Exactly, and to be honest, I've kind of been slowly missing our conversations. I'm sure Ai will be very happy to hear that you're coming. She'll be extremely excited to see you here. It'll be a wonderful surprise!" Shiro says with a excited smile but a smile quickly vanished in the switch to a more grim and serious one as she checks the time on her phone the time on a nearly reads midnight.
"Anyways, Makoto, it's almost getting late where I am, so I'm about to retire for tonight. But before we end this call, when you arrive in Michigan, I have a secret that I must tell you. I do not wish to share this with Bishop, and you're the only one I can trust with this. So don't bring this up to Bishop or anyone else, got it." Shiro says in a deep, serious voice.
*You got me a little bit worried there. You never use your serious voice very well. I won't say anything to Bishop. You know I don't like the guy anyways. Only I will tell him that you did call and everything is all right. But you promise me you will tell me everything when I arrive at the airport, got it!*
"I will and good night." Shiro says he hangs up her phone she got off from her couch and proceeded to head to her wardrobe closet to change out of her work uniform and into her sleeping clothes.
Elsewhere
We find ourselves in the Loud House. The house is virtually quiet, everyone is fast asleep in their rooms, but there is one place in particular in the house that still has its lights on. That place is the basement. In the basement, we find Lincoln and Rey talking.
Many of you are wondering what's going on. After Rey made an important call involving the Fangire, he gave her the temporary name Jane Doe. The one he called about her was none other than Soma. Rey began making small talk with him during the conversation; he discovered that he was still in America, which was surprising to him. He questioned why he decided to stay in Michigan but decided to save that question for another time. After giving a brief explanation about the events of tonight, Soma agreed to pick her up and take her back with him. After that, Rey went to pick up Lincoln. After he picked him up and said goodbye to Ronnie Anne, Lincoln mentioned that he had some important things to ask and tell him, although he already knew what he was going to talk about, so he mentally prepared himself to play blissfully ignorant.
After they arrive at the house, Rey convinces Lincoln to have their conversation when everyone goes to sleep. He agrees. Once everyone was asleep, Lincoln walked out of his room quietly to meet with Rey to have that talk. Then Rey directs him to the basement to talk privately, from there, Lincoln began to reveal the events that transpired at the dance with his friends in great details from the information he received from Decade. While he remain unaware that the rider is standing in front of him.
"Wow, that sounds like a harrowing experience you've gone through with your friends. Glad decade and his Pokemon were there to save you and your friends. Good to know the monster you fought is called a fangre."
"Yeah pretty stressful also Rey..." Lincoln looks down nervously Rey can probably take a guess that Lincoln's about to mention what he told him as Decade about him and his sisters.
"Decade told me that you and Leni were somehow involved in the monster incident at the mall, and he has brought up the incident that went on at the high school. He also mentioned... Lori being kidnapped. Are they true?" Lincoln asked nervously and friendly. Rey let out a tired sigh.
"I hate to admit this, but yeah, everything that decade said is true, and if we're being honest, there's a bit of information that you need to know. Lincoln, do you remember when I told the family how I met your sister?" Rey scratched his head nervously. He didn't want to bring us up, even in his civilian form, but then he spilled the beans as decade. He might as well spill one bean that he was keeping close to himself.
"Remember on April Fool's Day how I met your sister and I told everyone at dinner that she was almost mugged by some punk and I came in saving her." Lincoln responds with a single nod.
"Well, how I met your sister is completely true, except for one part of the story is a lie..." Rey trailed off slightly, looking away from Lincoln. He had a look of doubt about what he was about to tell Lincoln, but he ready himself, took a deep breath, and turned around to look at him firmly.
"You know what, I'll just come out and say it. Leni was actually attacked by a spider fangre, and the same spider fangre was also responsible for the incident at the mall." Rey informed that these secret he had Lincoln gasp at this Revelation that was bestowed upon him Lincoln is about to say something but he was halted by Rey.
"I know you're going to ask me some questions, so I'll just get straight to the point. The reason I didn't tell anyone about this or why Leni didn't bring it up sooner is simply because I made her swear to never bring up her encounter again because I don't want her family to worry about a monster on the loose also I don't think anyone would believes us, also the only ones that know about this incident are Lori, Luna, and Luan, and we told them this during the incident at high school." Rey informed there's got Lincoln curious about the constant mention of the high school incident.
"I keep hearing about the incident a the high school what happened there?" Lincoln as curiously this is being brought up a lot he kind of us feel curious about that incident that's being mentioned.
"Well, that's an interesting story, but I'll try to keep it short. It happened during my first day of high school. Everything went down during lunch. I was looking for a place to sit then I spotted Leni I asked her if I can stay with her she said yes. Then, Luna and Luan shut up it started talking. Suddenly, a student came in, screaming about monsters. Then, monsters up in the cafeteria. They looked like imps. Everyone panicked, and I immediately took charge and began to fight them off. Your sisters were impressed. More of them showed up, and I told them to look for Lori they protested but I remain firm be gradually took my orders and went to look for her. Then, Decade showed up with his Pokemon. We fought together for a brief moment, he gave me a weapon. His Pokemon followed me. ran into your sisters save them then we spend sometime cleaning some students to safety we talk for a moment about then we found ourselves in front of a really scary monster and Decade beat it." Rey explained there is a look of shock and bewilderment in Lincoln's eyes this is a lot for him to process.
"Is there any thing I left out that needs to be answered?" Rey politely ask.
"There is one Decade mentioned about Lori being kidnapped by a monster called an Orphnoch. Do you know something about it?" Lincoln asked warily.
"I do know about Lori being kidnapped. I was there, but I did not know the name of the monster that did the act, when she came back. I gave her a hug to show my relief then I prepared dinner then I handed over her new phone, she told me that she didn't want to talk about it." Rey answers in truth in the aftermath of that event when he found chance to handed her new phone. He asked a question, "What happened?" She said she didn't want to talk about it and just wanted to forget about it which shows that she did kept her word.
"I see thank you for telling me Rey I really appreciate it." Lincoln says the thankful manner.
"No problem, Lincoln, but you know we're going to talk to your sisters about this incident and how you met Decade during this incident in great detail, and also tell them about what he told you about our encounters with him." Rey stated.
"Yeah, I know it's not going to be easy." He said nervously.
"Some things are never easy, kid. Well, good night, Lincoln." Rey says in a comedic manner as he heads upstairs out of the basement, letting out an exhausted sigh as Lincoln follows him.
"Well, that went well. Tomorrow, I have to go see Soma in the city and talk about our mysterious Jane Doe. I hope you found something about her." Rey says in a exhausted tone.
The next morning.
We see Ai waking up. She let out a large yawn and begins to rub her eyes lazily. She blinked a couple of times and got off her bed. Then she stretches a little bit and heads downstairs for breakfast. As she's walking down the stairs, she sees Shiro talking on the phone.
"I appreciate you and your family taking a moment to look after Ai. Normally, I don't mind her staying home by herself, but the things I need to do today are really important, and I don't want her to stick around or catch wind of what I'm about to do today... Again, I appreciate it, Rita. Well, again, I thank you. She'll be over there soon. Talk to you later." Shiro end the calling it puts away her phone.
"Morning Shiro-chan." Ai says exhaustively Shiro turns around with a smile.
"Oh, good morning, Ai-chan. How are you this morning?" Shiro asked.
"I'm fine who are you talking to?" Ai questioned The times they have spent together in Royal woods she has never once seen her on her phone for the house phone not since after the call from Bishop.
"Oh I was talking to Rita nothing too special just asking her for a favor." Shiro informed.
"Well, you have been spending a certain amount of time with Lincoln at his house, and when I pick you up, I have small talks with Rita-san. It wouldn't be possibly that the two of us form a small friendship, while Lynn, on the other hand, I see him as more of an acquaintance. But that's pretty much it, although well I think he's a good man though I think he has a room to improve." Shiro said
she leads Ai to the kitchen, then heads to one of the counters in the kitchen, she picks up a large tray that contains two plates and two beverages . She heads into the dining room and motions Ai to follow her.
The dining room they walked into is pretty spacious enough to seat and host 10 people. Shiro sets the tray down at the end of the table, pulls up a chair. She motions Ai to take a seat, which she did. Then, she takes one of the plates that was on the tray and hands it to Ai, along with her beverage. Next, it was her turn. She picks up a plate and her beverage, sets it on the opposite side of Ai, and takes her seat in front of her.
Ai's plate is a simple bacon and scrambled eggs with a side of toast and orange juice. For Shiro herself, she's having the same thing, but her drink is a simple coffee.
"Looks really great, Shiro-chan. Well, time to eat." Ai says eagerly as she immediately digs into her meal. Shiro chuckles nervously as she watches Ai eat her breakfast in an almost unladylike manner as she took a bite of her eggs and cutting a piece of her bacon and eating it with it.
'Well, at least she's in a better mood than she was last night,' Shiro thought happily. The way she saw her young lady eating her breakfast put her at ease. It's almost as if last night's incident didn't occur.' Shiro thought happily seeing her young lady acting on lady like brought her some Joy. But mere mention of that got her thinking about the talk she had with Makoto.
'Should I tell her that I had a conversation last night with Makoto and should I also bring up that he's coming over today... No, I'll keep that a surprise. She sometimes love surprises, and she'll love the idea of him staying. Well time, to bring up what I talked to Rita about.'
"Say Ai-chan how we feel if you hang out with Lincoln at his house again?" Shiro after she took a sip of her coffee.
"Well, I have no plans going on today. I was actually going to call him today if we can hang out for a little bit at his house. Why do you ask?" Ai asks as she eyes the maid suspiciously.
"I have some things to do today, and they are directly from Bishop, unfortunately," Shiro says in a manner that is true but false at the same time.
"Of course, it's been a while since we haven't received any calls from him, but you can't say no to him unfortunately." Ai scoffs as she drinks her juice.
"It's quite unfortunate what can you do." She says neutrally as you takes another sip of her coffee.
"By the way, once we're done eating breakfast, be sure to call Lincoln and I know you wanted to hang out with him today and I'll see if I can finish up my errands early today." Shiro says.
"That sounds like a good plan." Ai says eagerly as she resumes eating.
Back at the Loud house.
We see Rey in the kitchen helping Lynn Senior with everyone's breakfast. The breakfast he and Lynn Senior have made is simple: bacon eggs and sausage with a side of hash browns.
"There we go, all finished. I hope everyone in the house will find this breakfast you and I have made to acceptable, Mr. Loud." Rey says in a discomfort tone even though all the breakfast he had even though he has made throughout his time in his house have been well like by everyone.
"Oh come on, Ray, everyone likes the meals you help out to make, which reminds me." Lynn Senior picks up an item that is representative and hands it over to Rey.
"Here's your breakfast to go. Your usual bacon and beans tacos. The bacon is cooked very crispy, the way you like it, and the beans are sweet and spicy." when senior says proudly as Rey takes them.
"Thank you very much, Mr. Loud. I apologize I can't stick around for breakfast with everyone today, but I promise I'll be back before dinner starts." Rey said as he leaves the kitchen and heads for the front door.
"No problem have a nice day Rey!" Lynn senior hollered as Rey exited the house and heads for his bike.
"Are y'all six ready to go?" Rey questions as he puts on his helmet and gets on his bike.
'Ready as we'll ever be.' All six Pokemon stated as Rey sorry his bike and rode off.
'Excuse me, sir, you didn't mention this, but where are we exactly meeting Soma and the fangre you call Jane Doe?' Ryūsei asked curiously. Rey didn't mention where exactly he's beating these individuals.
"Well, to answer your question Ryūsei, he told me this morning in a message to meet him and our Jane Doe at new location in town he didn't say much on the name of this place but he has sent me directions where to go." Rey says as he made it into town.
'Hey, boss, I have a question. Are you going to introduce any of us to this Soma guy? I mean, Edgar and Kaori have met him before, or when those two were taken care of by Lily?' Onibi's question since their trainer is associated with one of the members of the Rosie Path, and because Rey kind of spilled the beans about himself and the secrets he knows even things relating to the Pokemon and his title as a Rider.
"Well, that could be a possibility, but we'll see how the day goes." Rey says nonchalantly as he arrives at his destination. He is in front of a decently sized white brick building with a cursive-written sign above that reads "The Lucky Pedal Cafe."
"Well, it looks like this is the place. I don't think I've seen this place before or remember it existing." Rey says under his breath as he types in his phone to let Soma know that he's at the location.
It didn't take long for Soma to reply. The message he sent reads.
=Great. I'll send my associate to escort you in.=
"I wonder what his associate is like?" Rey questions. Those questions are answered when someone steps out of the building. The individual standing in front of the door is an older man, relatively buff, in his early to mid-forties. The man in front of him is a couple of inches taller than Rey. He has mid-graying brown short hair, he is wearing a white shirt, jeans, and boots. One thing that's unusual is that he's wearing a floral apron.
"Hello there, young man. Are you perhaps Rey?" The old man in front of him asked in a strangely soft voice. Rey was a little bit taken aback by this man's demeanor. He quickly tried to extricate himself.
"Yeah, I am Rey, and who might you be, sir?" Rey ask politely the older man begins to chuckle a little bit.
"Oh dear, where are my manners? My name is Maxwell, but you can call me Max. Everyone I meet calls me that." The man now named Max introduced himself in a very cheery polite manner.
"It is nice to meet you Max." Rey spoke politely as he extends his hand to Max seeing this the man instantly reciprocated back by shaking his hand too.
"Well, aren't you a polite young man? It's a pleasure to meet you too, Rey. Please come inside my cafe. We have much to discuss." Max let's go of his hand and motions Rey to come inside his establishment Rey nod his head and heads inside Max quickly checks the outside comeonically then he quickly gets back inside.
The interior of the establishment is completely made of wood. The way everything is set up inside this damaged space gives off a relaxing, cozy, homey vibe. There's a marble counter and an empty glass case, which is probably for pastries and other types of goodies for display.
"Nice establishment you have here Max." Rey complemented on the astonishmen.
"Thank you, Ray. Now, let's go meet Soma. He's in the break room talking to Harumi." Max said cheerfully.
"Harumi?" Rey said confused.
"Oh, that's right, you don't know. It's the name of the woman you've been calling Jane Doe. Her full name is Harumi Gonzalez." Max informed.
"Wow, that's interesting. On the bright side, I won't have to call her Jane Doe. So, how did you find out her real name? Did she tell y'all?" Rey asked.
"Of course, but we shouldn't keep Soma waiting. Let's head to the break room quickly. He gets really cranky when someone's not on time, but when he's late, he just shrugs it off." Max says he comedically rolls his eyes.
Max leads Rey to the direction of the break room. As both enter, they see Soma sitting in front of the woman named Harumi. Rey glances at the woman from last night. Seeing how she is sitting right now, she looks rather nervous to look at anyone. It's a little surreal. This is the woman who was giving Lincoln and his friends a horrible time. Yet, here she is, the enemy from last night, now looking a bit nervous. A little far from the confident woman she was last night.
"Oh, good, you're here, Rey. It's been a while since we last saw each other. Have you been well?" Soma asked, his laid-back tone an attempt to start a conversation and ease the tension.
"I've been doing great, dealing with a lot of nonsense, but things have been really peaceful, and you?" Rey asked.
"A lot of stuff has changed since we last met, but I'll tell that story another day. Right now, we have to get to a situation right here." Soma says, pointing to the woman in front of them, who swiftly looks away shyly next he pulls out a file and hands it over to Rey.
"This young woman's name is Harumi Gonzalez, but the Gonzalez name is from her adoptive family. Her real name is Harumi Haga. She lost her parents at an early age. Luckily, her parents were friends with Jose and Linda Gonzalez. After their passing, these two took it upon themselves to adopt and raise her. Her adopted parents own a restaurant named after her grandmother. The name of the restaurant is Lupe's Mesa, located in San Antonio, Texas. She works as a waitress there. And she has three sisters and one younger brother. About 3 weeks ago she was reported missing no one's have been able to find her that is until now thanks to you." Soma stated with a small grin Rey didn't seem as I just looked at her file he closed it and hands it back to him.
"For the record he didn't do all the work I done most of the work myself he came to me to find any information on this young woman once she woken up and given a name it was pretty easy define the information on her." Max said make himself known that he's still present in front of everyone Soma looked at him with annoyance.
"Way to ruin a guy's thunder there Max but whatever." Soma shrugs his shoulders Rey said nothing and took a seat next to Soma..
"Hello Miss Gonzalez my name is Ray Ochoa it's nice to meet." Rey introduces himself with a polite smile by his polite smile quickly changes to a neutral but concern look.
"Listen, I know you're scared, lost, and confused. Suddenly, you find yourself in front of strangers talking to you out of nowhere in the state of Michigan, and you have a lot of questions. I'll be happy to answer all of them, I promise. We'll do everything to get you back home to your family in Texas. Do we have a deal?" Rey asks, extending his hand to Harumi. She looks at his hand, confused. A lot of things are going through her head right now, but she knows that questioning herself will not get her anywhere. So, she bravely takes his hand and shakes it.
"Okay, but is it okay we can drop the formalities you can call me Harumi call me Miss makes me feel like an old lady." Harumi laughed nervously.
"That's fair, Harumi." Rey complies as he says her name.
"Here are my questions: What is going on, and what has happened to me and how did I get to Michigan?" Harumi says as she lets go of his hand.
"Before I answer any of your questions, Harumi, when is the last thing you remember?" Rey questions; he is curious about how Harumi got unintentionally involved with N.V.
"Well, the last thing I remember was that I was at my family's restaurant closing up. I was about to head home when two men came out of nowhere, pointing their weapons at me. One man had a gun, and the other had a knife. I quickly tried to pull out my pepper spray to blind them, but they were too quick and knocked me down. I tried to run away, but they had me pinned. Then, out of nowhere, someone in a black cloak showed up and immediately incapacitated them. The men in the black cloak helped me to my feet. He asked if I was all right, and I answered that I was fine. Then he suddenly lifted up his open hand, and in the palm of his hand, there was a strange powder. I looked at it confusingly, then he blew the powder off his hands into my face. That's when everything went black." As Harumi is recounting her story, there's a look of unease that Rey, Max, and Soma noticed. They can empathize with what she's going through, although Harumi felt a little uneasy, remembering the encounter with the man in the black cloak. Soma, on the other hand, wasn't lucky enough to remember anything about the man that Rey mentioned, which made him feel a little frustrated.
Rey is a little bit suspicious. He could tell she was telling the truth about her story, but one thing that stood out to him was that she was caught off guard by a bunch of punks that tried to hurt her. But that should be impossible, given the fact that she is a fangre. She could have easily taken down two punks with her strength and power, but why she didn't this raises suspicion. But he decided to say that wasn't for later and resumed to ask her another question.
"So what happened nex?" Rey asks.
"I can feel in the rest for you I was there when she woke up." Soma chimes in as he speaks. "I just woke up and I saw Harumi getting up from the couch I laid her on she looked a little bit confused now she looked around the living room my apartment who can blame her I do look around if I woke up in a place I wasn't familiar with I too will be set off by anyone so I made myself known scaring almost caused her to have a panic attack which again I'm sorry for Harumi." Soma bowed his head apologetically.
"It's okay, I forgive you. My mom and Sophia always commented how easily starlight I gets." Harumi says, I see laughs and scratches her cheek embarrassingly.
"Anyways after I managed to calm her down I quickly swooped her up later on my shoulder then walk down the apartment she has where we're going and I told her we're going to meet with a friend and now we're here."
"Well, you certainly know how to scare and surprise a young lady. By the way, when you brought her into my cafe. She looked frightened, scared, and confused." Max commented with a deadpan look. Soma just rolled his eyes and shrugged his shoulders in response.
"Well, I appreciate everyone filling in the blanks, all right Harumi. Now, it's my turn to answer your questions. Get yourself comfortable; we're going to be here for a while, and I'm about to tell you something that will blow your mind." Rey says as he began to talk.
Back at the Loud house.
"Hey, Ai, are both your arms okay? Do they still hurt?" Lincoln asked warily. The image of her getting shot in both arms was still fresh in his memory, despite claiming they were all healed. He just asked out of courtesy and just to be sure.
"How are you holding up since the sudden revelation that your sister's and Rey knowing Decade?" Ai ask.
"I've been doing okay and it's still a little nerve-wracking that they are acquainted with him." Lincoln says in a astonished tone.
"So have you confirmed what he was telling to be true?" Ai questions.
"I talked to Rey about it and he's confirmed that what he said was true, even about Lori's kidnapping incident. But he claims he doesn't know much about it."
"Did you talk to any of your sister about it last night?"
"I haven't yet Rey and I are planning to bring this up to my sister's together." Lincoln informed.
"I see." Ai says as she resumes reading one of his comic books.
"And what about you did you tell Shiro any about what happened last night too?" Lincoln question.
"I haven't. There are some things I'd rather keep to myself. I don't want to worry her." Ai said she came up with this little lie just in case Lincoln brought up something about last night.
"Speaking about that, have you talked to Ronnie yet? Has she told this incident to anyone she's close to?" Ai asked, since Ronnie Anne was part of that incident from last night, she has been slightly worried if she spilled anything about last night.
"S-she ask you how I was doing?" Ai question as she puts down the comic book she's reading and looks at Lincoln with a slight emotional look he responds with a single nod.
"I-I see well y-you can tell her I'm all right she doesn't need to worry." Ai said bashfully as she picked up the comic and resumed where she was at it.
"I will also do this mean that you're no longer going to be hostile towards Ronnie Anne?" Lincoln asks with a hopeful smile. He hopes that this incident is enough to at least defuse the hostility Ai has with Ronnie Anne and start being friends.
"Don't get your hopes up. I'm not quite there yet with her, Lincoln Albert Loud." Ai said his full name coldly as she glared menacingly as she looked at the comic book.
Back at The Lucky Pedal Cafe.
We see Harumi instead of shock, while Soma Max and Rey had looks of concern.
"Oh yes, I am completely fine. I mean, why wouldn't I be fine? Heck, I was a simple woman minding her own business, helping her parents run a restaurant. The next thing I know, I was almost assaulted, and out of nowhere a mysterious hooded guy showed up, offered his hand to help me, but it turned out he's a crazy madman with crazy powers that brainwashed me and sent me to the state of Michigan. To almost kill three kids for God knows what reason. And next, I recently discovered that I'm a life-sucking vampire. To answer your question, I am perfectly fine!" Harumi stated as she begins to laugh hysterically, she puts her head down.
Rey gave Harumi the gist of what's going on in this world, for example, he brought up that he's from another world. He was sent by a woman named Claire to stop a chaos bringer that goes by the name N.V. She thought he was crazy, but he immediately showed evidence that he wasn't lying. And believed him immediately after that. He briefly touched on N.V. and what he has done mentioned by Claire and summoning the Orphnochs and Fangres, like herself into this world for a sick thrill. This got Harumi confused. When Rey said "fangres like herself," she scoffing at that notion believing to be a bad joke from Rey.
But Ray bluntly stated that he wasn't. He even showed evidence by calling his Pokémon out—the ones that were there last night. She and Max were immediately surprised to see strange-looking animals standing in their presence. Except for Soma, he has already met Edgar and Kaori. He waved at her, and she greeted him back. However, this is the first time he's meeting Meni and Onibi. All three of them confirmed what happened last night, and they ensured that he wasn't lying. with that done. He called them back into their Poké Balls.
But she was still a little bit in denial, but what finally made her believe them was when Ray, Max, and Soma saw her marks flaring up and immediately took a picture of it to show her. She was stunned by what she saw. Then she asked, "what does it mean?" He bluntly stated that she is a life-sucking vampire?" From there, he explained what type of vampire she was. Then, he decided not to sidetrack anymore and just give her the blunt truth of this whole meeting. He told her that the reason she's here is because she was being controlled and being used to hunt down three kids for what reason he doesn't know, and to see if she was friendly or a threat luckily she's a friendly who is lost and confused at the moment.
Which brings us back to now there is a brief silence in the atmosphere and a slight awkwardness from Harumi's outburst who can her her world was just blown away in many ways.
"So young lady now that you know everything went to the lots and very crazy the process what are you going to do?" Max asked worryingly and concernely.
"If it's all right with all of you, I would like to call my parents and my siblings. I have to let them know that I'm all right and where I am. I would like to go home as soon as possible. This whole thing is a lot to process, and I think spending time with my family will help me return to some normalcy." Harumi says in a neutral tone.
"Already on it, so what's your number?" Soma asked as he pulled out his phone.
"Well, I will let you guys do that. I think I'm ready to head home. One more thing before I leave. Harumi, do you want me to tell a little bit about the Orphnochs?" Rey asked. He noticed he forgot to bring them up during this whole talk. Harumi looked at Rey conflictedly.
"You know, I think I've had enough explanations for today, Rey. I don't think I can take any more secrets or reveals right now, so I'm good for now. But can you do me one favor?" Harumi asked as she looked at Ray with a guilt-written remorseful expression.
"If you ever come across those kids that I tried to hurt, I would like to meet them and give them my sincere apologies for scaring them or hurting them. I know I didn't do anything wrong because I was being controlled, it still doesn't change the fact that I almost did something horrible to them. I won't be able to sleep comfortably with the knowledge of the actions I almost did." She says this in a determined and apologetic tone. Rey can tell the sincerity in her voice as she tries to make things right with Lincoln, Ronnie Anne, and Ai.
"I'll be sure to let them know I did one last question for you, though, are you going to bring this up before we talk about it to your parents, including that your recent discovery about you being a Fangre?" Rey asked curiously. Harumi lowered her head down a little bit, as her hair covers her face and begins to speak.
"I think I'd like to keep this a secret for a while from them. I don't think they'd be able to handle it, and if I do tell them, how will they react? Will they still see me as family?" As she speaks, she begins to tremble and sob, and then she looks up with a fearful, worried expression, tears begin to fall from her eyes.
"Just thinking about it scares me. I don't want to lose my mom and dad, my brother, or my sisters. I don't want them to think I'm a monster. I'm scared!" Harumi puts both her hands on her face as she begins to sob loudly. Everyone in the room couldn't help but empathize with how she feels right now.
Rey was about to reach out and comfort her, but Soma fed into the punch as he placed his hands on her shoulders. She fell for this touch and looked at him confusingly. She saw the expression he was giving her; it was an expression that said things would be all right.
"Hey, lose the waterworks; it's too soon to doubt what could happen. You never know; maybe your parents and your siblings will still see you as the same person they've always known. So, it's too soon to start doubting what could happen. You'll never know what the future has in store. So, my advice for you is to take your time with this. When you are ready, me and my pals here will be there for you for moral support as you tell him. I don't think any of you. I have a gut feeling your parents will still love you, and your siblings." Soma says positively. Harumi couldn't help but smile; she felt hopeful about what he said.
"Well I don't want to ruin the moment so I'll see you guys later." Rey says as he leaves the break room falling behind him is Max once they were out of the break room all them couldn't help but let out a tire exhausted sigh
"Well that was interesting." Max said with an exhausted tone.
"You're telling me, so you think she's going to be all right after everything I told her? I can't imagine that she will be the same once you reveal a secret to someone that's been blissfully unaware of the world's darkness. It could change you both positively and negatively." He stated, feeling a little bad for telling her most of the stuff, but he had to do it because this girl was used by his enemy. She has a right to know the things that went on, even if it could negatively change things for her life.
"I'm sure the young girl will be all right, but I'm pretty sure she'll be just right." Max said optimistically.
"Well Max has been fun getting to know you and seen so much again but I think I should be heading back with a family I'm staying at." Rey says but is he about to leave Max stops him.
"Well, hold it right there, Rey. Before you go, I have something to give you. Just wait for a moment, okay." Max says. He heads to the kitchen of the cafe. It didn't take long for him to return with two items. The items he's holding are a large box and, on top of it, a letter.
"what's this?" Rey ask as Max hands the items to him.
"Open it." He says, his emotions brimming with anticipation. Rey decides to open the box first. On opening it, it's revealed to be a large, circular cake coated in chocolate icing. Along the side of the cake is white frosting, and on top are five roses: a red rose, yellow rose, white rose, and purple rose, with a blue rose in the center.
"Wow, this is a large cake. It hurts me to eat it." Rey stated as he looked at the cake.
"Thank you, I baked it and decorated it myself, and it's large enough to feed 14 people." Max informed, surprising Rey.
"Well, that's interesting and convenient, but what did I do to receive these gifts?" Rey questions.
Well, if you must know, Taka asked me to deliver the letter and the cake as a thank-you gift," Max informed.
"Taka?" Rey raised an eyebrow, confused, since it's the first time he's heard of a person named Taka.
"He is one of the original founders of the Rosie Path. He's in charge of the Yellow Rose that Soma's a part of. Soma make contact with them and explain what happened the last time you met. He wanted to show you his gratitude for saving one of his subordinates. That letter has a written thank you from him and contains $1,000 and has a one-time favor from him." Max explained this really caught Rey extremely off guard and he feels conflicted about receiving these gifts.
"I'm flattered with all these gifts, Max, but I can't accept them. I mean, I can accept the cake and a one-time favor from a member of the Rosie Path, but I'm not too comfortable receiving money for saving someone's life. So, please, I insist on giving back the money." Rey protested as he handed the letter back to Max, but Max showed the letter back to him.
"You really are a decent kid, Rey. Not many are willing to hand back money for saving lives. I respect that, but I think you should take the money, Taka, and continue assisting us. Even though you may protest and say no." Max informed with a reluctant look, he handed Rey the envelope and put it in his jacket. Rey let out an annoyed sigh.
"All right, I'll take the offer, but I'm not going to spend it on myself. I'll make sure to use it for emergencies when the time is right." Rey says as he heads towards his bike. He presses a button on his bike, and instantly, it transforms into its lock form and places it on his belt. Max is impressed by the sight he just saw.
"Your bike has an impressive gimmick, but why do you transform it into a lock?" Max questioned.
"Simple answer, I have no way of transporting the cake safely on my bike, so walking is the better solution." Rey explained.
"Well, anyways, I'll be heading back to the house now, and if you don't mind, I'll be stopping by your cafe every now and then just to relax and hang out. Is that all right with you, Max?" Rey asked. Max responded with a simple smile and nodded.
"If that's the case then I'll be waiting for your return for your patronage. Have a nice day, Rey." Max says excitingly.
Rey nodded and began to walk back to the loud house.
Back of the Loud House.
We see Rey at the Loud House as he enters through the front door. He sees Lincoln and Ai playing video games in the living room.
"Hey y'all, I'm home." Rey politely said as he walked towards the kids.
"Hey Rey." Both Lincoln and Ai greeted him.
"It's good to see you, Ai. So, what brings you by the Loud house?" Rey asked, he was a little surprised to see her there today.
"Shiro had some personal things to do today. She called Mrs. Loud to see if I could come by for a visit until she's done with her personal business." Ai informed.
"That is a big cake where did you get it?" Lincoln ask.
"I helped someone and they gave me the cake as a thank you." Rey answered truthfully as he closed the box. Suddenly, all three of them heard a knocking at the door.
"I got it." Rey set the cake down and immediately headed for the door. As he opened it, behind the door was none other than Shiro.
"Hello Rey." Shiro greeted politely with a smile.
"Hello Shiro are you here to pick up Ai." Rey rhetorically said.
"Well, that's partly why I'm here, though. But there's another reason. Before that, is either Rita or Lynn home? I want to notify that I'm here to pick up Ai." Shiro says.
"Hold on a moment, hey, Lincoln, do you know where your folks are?" Rey asked.
"Well, Dad went to the store to pick up some stuff for dinner, and Mom's in the basement working on something." Lincoln answers.
"All right, can you get your mother here, please, and let her know that Shiro is here to pick up Ai? Which reminds me, Ai, Shiro is here to pick you up. Please get your stuff." Rey says politely. Lincoln complies and goes to get his mother, and Ai heads upstairs, probably to get her stuff. He looks back at Shiro.
"It might be a moment. How was your day?" Rey asks as a way to have a conversation.
"A little stressful and you?" Shrio questions.
"Same." Rey answers right in there Rita along with Lincoln showed up at the door to greet her.
"Oh, Hi, Shiro here to pick up Ai." Rita rhetorically said. Shiro couldn't help but chuckle a little bit at what she said.
"Sorry about that, Rey. Just said the exact same thing you said. Anyways, that's part of it, though. I am also here, too. Surprise, Ai." Shiro informed.
"Surprise?" Rey question as he raising eyebrow.
"You know, it might be better if I just show you. I'll bring them out so you all can meet him." She said as she headed to her car.
"Him?" Rey Lincoln and Rita question.
Back inside the house, we see Ai coming down the stairs with a single bag. As she came to a stop, she noticed Lincoln, Rita, and Rey gathered at the door, curious. She decided to approach them, wondering why everyone was gathered at the door.
"Hey, everyone, why are all of you gathered at the door?" Ai questioned, knowing she had everyone's attention. Rita Lincoln and Rey gave her a small smile and moved away. Ai let out a small gasp, a gap that wasn't terrifying or horrified; it was one of sheer shock and surprise.
Right in front of her is a person she recognizes and is familiar with. The individual is none other than Makoto. He is wearing casual clothing: a long white-sleeved shirt with a tiger image on it, black pants with a sewed rook patch on the side, and simple sneakers.
"Makoto!" Ai shouted his name with pure excitement as she dashes forward to hug him everyone that's present couldn't help but smile at her sheer excitement.
"I can't believe you're here I've missed you Makoto!" Ai shouted in pure jubilation to see him.
"Same here Ai." Makoto says as he strokes her hair.
"Anyway, what brings you to America? Why didn't you call me? And how long will you be staying?" Ai bombards him with many questions.
"Easy on the questions, Ai-chan. Makoto-san informed me that he's coming to America and will be staying with us indefinitely. Also, I wanted to keep his arrival a surprise. I hope you're not too mad at me for keeping his arrival a secret." Shiro, with a slight apologetic tone.
"Why would I be mad? This is the best surprise I've had in a long time!" Ai said excitedly as she hugged Makoto tightly.
"All right, Ai, you can let go of me. It's getting hard for me to breathe." Makoto says. Ai Amy let him go. Makoto looks at Rita, Lincoln, and Rey, showing a smile filled with gratitude.
"I think it's time for the three of us to get going, but despite our moments being short, it was a pleasure meeting you, Mrs. Loud, as well as you, Lincoln. You have my gratitude for being friends with Ai, as well as your other friends, Shiro, who have mentioned many things about you and your family. I hope to meet more of your family members when the timing is better, and that's for you, Rey, thanks for being friendly and kind to Ai and Shiro." Makoto at least bowed his head humbly and headed to the car.
"Well I guess that's our cue to leave. We'll see all of you soon. Take care now, and have a lovely evening." Shiro bows her head and heads for the car.
"Well I guess we'll be seeing each other at school on Monday Lincoln I had a fun day." Ai smiled happily at Lincoln then she focus her attention to Rita and gave her a humble and thankful bow.
"And as always, I am truly grateful for you allowing me to visit your home and spend time with your son."
"Not at all Ai." Rita said then Ai since her attention too Rey.
"Well, I should be heading home as well. It was a shame that you weren't home today, but I understand you have something to do. I did enjoy your brief company with me and Lincoln, so thank you, Rey. Also, please send my regards to Leni and Lucy." She said, giving a polite bow to him as well.
"Not at all I'll be sure to tell them." Rey says.
With nothing else to say, Ai heads towards the car. Makoto sees Ai approaching the car. He immediately exits the car and opens the door for her, allowing her to enter. When she takes her seat in the car, he closes the door and takes a seat, too. With that done, Shiro starts the car and drives to their home.
"Well, that was nice. Well, I'm going to head inside. I have Brock, and I wanted to keep it nice and cool."
"You brought cake?"
"He did Mom Rey mention that he helped someone and they awarded him a cake as a thank you." Lincoln informed.
"Well that was nice of you. Are you planning on sharing it with everyone?" Rita asked.
"Yeah, I am. I plan to share it after everyone finishes their dinner, and the good news is that the cake is big enough to be sure with everyone at the table." Rey informed.
"Well, that's convenient." Rita said positively.
"Change the subject real quick. Ai told me to send Leni and Lucy her regards, which got me thinking: excluding Mr. Loud, are all the girls out of the house? If you don't mind telling me what they're doing or where they are, I'd appreciate it." Rey questions both Rita and Lincoln, but Lincoln answers his question immediately.
"Well, Lori is hanging out with Bobby. Leni is with the twins at the park, and Luna is checking out new instruments. Luan is doing another one of her birthday gigs, and Lynn is hanging out with her teammates. Lucy's with Haiku, and Lisa is doing her usual scientific experiments. Lily's asleep." Lincoln explained.
"Thanks for telling me, Lincoln. Now, if you excuse me, I have to put away the cake and make sure Lily is all right. Please inform me when Lori, Leni, Luna, and Luan arrive home. I have something important that I must discuss with them." Rey stayed as he bolted back into the house.
There we go, all finished. I wish I could have gotten this chapter done and finished during the first week of June, and personally I think I could have done better with this chapter but better late than never.
All right, here's an important note that I must share with everyone. After I'm done with this chapter, I plan to do a continuation of this one, which takes place in episode one of the boys. After that bonus chapter is completed and published, I'll be working on a one-shot crossover fanfiction story that I've been working on for some time. Once the side project is done, I'll move on to the summer chapters, but don't expect them to be out soon. I have something important that I must attend to in my personal life. There's nothing too bad; it's just a special family event that is happening. That's all I'm saying.
