Chapter 33: Success or Fail
We're under way. Zeno thought as he felt the waves hit against the broad side of the ship. "Pu-kyu!" Zeno's ears twitched at the sounds Ao made and smirked, knowing the tiny animal was beginning her part in this.
"Here Ao." Yun's voice echoed in the darkness of the cargo hold. Sounds of chewing could be heard. "Ready Yona?"
Outside the room a guard stood when suddenly a banging sound was heard from inside the room. It continued several times more when he suddenly opened the door. Yun appeared at his side and blew a blow dart at the guard, hitting him in the neck. "Wha-" Suddenly the rope that once tied Yona was used to trip the man. "You little-" The man stood quickly and grasped for his dagger when suddenly Zeno jumped from his hiding spot in the corner behind the man and hit him in the neck from behind as Yun hit the man in the gut at the same moment. The man fell unconscious.
Upon hearing the commotion the other girls whom Ao had freed pulled their blindfolds off in time to see their saviors close the door and tie the guard up. "Is he dead?" One whispered in fear.
"No. Just unconscious. The dart had a sedative rubbed on it." He pulled the dart off the man. I only wished it worked faster. "He'll be out for twelve or so hours." I'm taking this blade. He thought thinking he might need it.
Zeno cracked the door open and saw that it was clear in the hallway when he heard a voice. "Hey, are you alright?" Zeno turned and saw Yona was shaking. "Does your ankle hurt?"
"Why did you do all of this?" another frightened girl asked.
"We came to save all of you." Yona spoke, her voice never wavering. "We have to signal our friends, so they know which ship to come to." Yona looked at the girls. "Please be patient. I promise we will get you out. I'm going to change things in this town."
One girl stood up from the others. "I'll come. I want to help." Yona looked at the girl. "I want to change things."
Yun looked at the think girl. "Can we really rely on you? We don't even know your name."
"I'm Yuri." She sighed. "I can't just let a bunch of kids take on the officials without helping a little."
"I'm Yun."
"Um..I'm Rina."
"Zeno." Zeno waved at her with a friendly smile plastered on his face. "Oh and this one is Ao." Zeno said holding Ao who had a little bit of rope left in her mouth and paws.
Where's Gi-gan? Yun wondered as he pushed the door open completely and began tiptoeing down the halls of the ship. He paused when he heard the sounds of metal hitting metal. "The fighting has started."
Kija's head was on swivel as he looked around himself. "Where's Kum-ji's ship!? I'll take him down!"
Hak spied Kija's frantic look. "Don't faint while you're at it, White Snake."
"Where's the Prin-" Kija asked obviously not hearing Hak's tease over the sounds of fighting.
"Shinah!" Hak yelled.
"Not here." was the other man's quick response as he slashed at the oncoming enemy.
Jae-ha stomped onto a merc's head as he was about to hit Hak. "Look at them all." He quipped. "A party just for us. Looks like Kum-ji hired a lot of mercenaries."
Yun, Princess… Hak thought as he swung his guandao striking a man in the stomach. "He really wants to kill us." Show us where you are! Hurry!
Zeno quickly took the lead from Yun as they ran down the hall. Two guards appeared near the exit to the cargo hold. Taking the knife he'd borrowed from Yun without the other knowing, Zeno cut his right arm from wrist to elbow in one quick slash.
"A girl! One of the girls got out!" One guard stated as Zeno ran at him, his arm no longer bleeding but now had the golden scales on it. He slammed his fist into the man's face. Quickly spun on his heal and kicked then punched the second man in his stomach.
A third man appeared only for Yun to punch him in his face. Yuri suddenly tripped, only to be grabbed by the semi-conscious man. Yun blew his dart at the man's neck. The second man grabbed at Yona blindly just as Yun was grabbed at. Yun threw the firework at Yona just as Zeno punched the man grabbing at her.
"Catch her!" One guard yelled.
"She's got something!" Another yelled.
Coming up top of the stairs leading to freedom, Yona saw a lamp burning. As someone grasped her hair from behind she pleaded. Please! Light! The firework went off. The light lit the night sky and trail-blazed a line right to them. "It lit!" She yelled as she was pulled from behind and hit in the face. Pain explode around her face. She felt herself thrown like a rag doll across the deck. She saw Yun and Zeno both of whom looked beaten. The man went to hit her again.
"NOOOO!" Yun's cries echoed. "Take my head! Take my arms! Just don't hurt her!"
Just then a strong wind was felt and a man appeared on the deck who hadn't been there before. The guards turned and paled at the sight of the man in the blue and gold tunic with the green hair and eyes that promised pain. "Ryokuryuu."
M-Angel: Gah, don't kill me for ending it there! I hope everyone enjoyed their holidays and if you were one of those who got stuck in the airport nightmare, sorry your holiday ended up like that.
