Good afternoon, everyone! It took me a longer than a few weeks to figured out the next chapter, but I decided to skip to the part where Anne had first met Sprig that I based off from the very first episode, but she's not alone. Yes, I know. I wanted to make it fair, but I also revert to the old ways when most teens went separate after being transported to Amphibia. Thank you for your patience and enjoy reading!

Amphibia: Adventure in Wartwood

Chapter 2: Anne or Beast

It was nighttime, and for the past few days, deep in the forest where frogs like townsfolks are having their dinner at a diner made out of log with windows and roofs on top with the sign says "Stumpy's", float atop a huge Lilypad on water. Just then, a one-eyed frog named Wally, walks out of Stumpy's Diner just to greets some frogs sitting nearby.

He's a turquoise frog with a pale lilac tongue, a dark turquoise bang, long dark turquoise hair, and a small turquoise beard. He wearing a flat broad-brimmed dark blue-violet hat with a low top, decorated with a red reed (cattail) sticking out of it with two narrow green leaves. His right eye was always wide open, resembling an egg yolk with its yellow color and round convex shape.

Oddly, the frog was wearing black denim shorts with an always-open width, an open indigo vest, and an old, darned scarf, one half of which was red and the other orange. Shod in soft rag boots of two opposite brown shades. The nose of the right boot is torn off.

"Goodnight, you frogs! See you in the morrow."

Wally bumps into something like trips over some barrels before making his way down the road making a barrel roll as the frogs are laughing at him. Wally got back up on his feet as he hops over the rock, as he ignores the laughs. Wally is walking in the forest with fog all around him and playing his accordion while humming as he sings.

The frog, One-Eyed Wally was walking down the dark and beaten path within the woods, still humming away while playing his accordion. It was the same path that he'd taken when traveling to Wartwood, so he felt safe when going down it at night. He was minding his own business, until there was a sudden loud snap of a branch, and rustling caused by Frank and Anne.

He turned in the direction of the noise, his heart having a little jump when he heard the snap.

"Hello?" he asked in fear.

Nothing was there. Just the winds blowing around him ominously. Rustling the leaves and skittering noises all around him.

"What's that?"

As he looked off in that particular direction, two dark and threaten figures with glowing appeared from the bushes behind him. Until they were standing twice as tall as Wally. That's when Wally felt their presence behind him and slowly turned around as the figures approached him.

"AAAH!" He screamed, walking backwards until tripping over as the figures continued to approach him with eyes glowing white and one of them reached down towards him.

"No no no no! NOOO!"

The next day, there was a village called Wartwood, home to all anthropomorphic frogs are doing their typical work and regular business. A butcher toad cuts a centipede looking creature which screeches. Two frog couples are about to share their kiss by the fountain, but the huge dragonfly just flew right in to snatch the male frog away from the female frog as he yells. Nobody is paying attention.

A female yellow frog, Felicia Sundew with long, braided red hair and a crown of green flowers sitting atop her head. She wears a dark green dress and lipstick. Felicia is heading to the Grub & Go for groceries.

Then a baker, Aldor Flour who is a blue, short frog, with deep eyebrows and purple eyes. He has purple stripes and dots along his back and a light-sky-blue underbelly. He often wears an apron, with several stains, and a baker's hat. He's baking some breads, but with some insects.

A light blue axolotl, Leopold Loggle who has two small white tufts of hair on the side of his head and a large white mustache. He wears a pair of goggles that wrap around his head. The left lens is clear while the right lens is green with three small settings on it, similar to a microscope. He wears a beige shirt, a brown work apron, red bandana around his neck, and grey boots. Loggle is doing some woodcraft for his shop.

An elder lady, Sadie Croaker is a dull purple frog with a light-dull-purple underside, with a padding of white hair on her head. She has a cataract in her left eye. She wears ragged, patched clothing, with a white scarf and black slippers. Along with her pet, Archie who is a small, black furry spider. He has six red eyes of different sizes, and a purple tongue that acts like a dog.

Then finally, a snail named Bessie, appears to have carrying a cart with a family known as the Plantars. Hopadiah Plantar, or Hop Pop for short, an eldest anthropomorphic frog and grandfather of the family. He has mostly reddish-orange skin with a light orange chin and chest. He wears a grayish-green waistcoat with a buttoned yellow shirt and a light blue ascot and grayish-brown trousers with light brown socks that slightly cover his feet.

Sprig Plantar, an anthropomorphic pink frog who is 10 yeas old of a small height. He has hot pink skin, with a paler pink shaded underbelly. He has short orange hair underneath his dark forest green hat with golden buttons, with light green goggles and a sleeveless jacket paired with black shorts. He has worn his hat since he was a small pollywog and speaking of pollywog.

Polly Plantar, a 5 year old that look resembles a real-life tadpole, albeit she has arms instead of legs and is more globular in appearance. She has a yellow bow with lighter white/yellow polka dots. She was only a baby when sitting in her bucket, but more mature than her brother.

After Bessie arrives, while carrying Hop Pop, Sprig, and Polly in it while trying to eat a leaf on a fishing pole-like stick. Hop Pop gently slow his snail down to a halt, then he turn his face at Sprig and Polly.

"All right, kids I'm gonna do a little shoppin'. You watch the cart." said Hop Pop.

"You got it, Hop Pop! I'll defend this cart with my LIIIIIIIFE!" Sprig proudly claims to watch over, but Hop Pop cuts him off.

"Sprig, I was talking to Polly."

"What? Polly's a baby!"

"You're a baby!" Polly retorted.

"Polly's got more responsibility in her little flipper than you have in your entire body!" said Hop Pop.

"Ridiculous. What makes you think I'm irresponsible?" Sprig scoffed.

"Oh gee. Let me think...

(Flashback starts)

As we jump to the first flashback from the kitchen when a green liquid substance explodes out of a pot while Hop Pop's cutting veggies because Sprig put something in it.

"Oops!"

Then the second flashback from the next day when Hop Pop was sleeping in his bedroom until Sprig crashes through the wall with a cow like worm startling Hop Pop as the two of them screams while the cowapillar mooing.

Now in the third flashback during the night, outside from the Plantars' house when the light was turned on, but we could hear Hop Pop's hollering.

"Sprig, what did I tell you about leaving the lights on?"

Just then when Sprig left the lights on, the giant fireflies start ramming the house as the Plantars screaming out loud.

(Flashback ends)

"Okay. So yesterday was a bad day." said Sprig.

"Mm-hmm. Polly, make sure Sprig stays in the cart." Hop Pop instructed his grandson to stay put and then jumps off the cart and walk towards to Grub & Go for shopping.

Sprig wants to be a responsible kid. More mature than his sister. He sighed sadly as he slide down to the wooden cart.

"(sigh) Wish there was a way to prove I'm not such a goof-up."

But suddenly, Sprig heard a scream. From the edge of the town, One-Eyed Wally burst out from the forest, wailing to get everyone's attention.

"Monsters! Th-there were monsters in the woods! I seen it! I seen it all!" Wally yells as the whole town gathered when they all looked concerned.

Then there was a mayor, Mayor Toadstool who is a large light green toad. He wears a maroon jacket with dark elbow patches and gold designs on the edges over a white undershirt. He also wears a lilac cravat, puffy dark gray pants, and dark brown shoes. He has 5 gold rings, 2 of which have red gemstones and one of which has a light blue gemstone. He is frequently seen walking around with a curved gold cane.

Along with the mayor was the assistant, Toadie who is a short and small, light green frog with grey parted hair. He has darker spots along the back of his body and a lighter underbelly. He often wears a formal suit including a white shirt under a black jacket, purple dress pants, and a red bow tie.

"Now, simmer down Wally. Just tell us what you saw." said Mayor Toadstool calmly.

"Oh, it was horrifying. They had a huge head, a weird, stubby bump right in the middle of its face and long spindly limbs!" Wally picked up some sticks and start drawing where everyone can see. until he is done drawing, he put a leaf on a each heads.

The crowds gasp if Wally said if it's true, then they were afraid what would happen if their hometown will be under attack. Then Mayor Toadstool steps up to declare something that he have made a suggestions.

"Obscene!" said Toadie.

"We better catch these beasts before they hurt somebody. Because for Mayor Toadstool, your safety comes first."

Toadie raised a banner behind Toadstool before the crowd applauds.

"Well, it's the responsible thing to do." said Wally.

"Great plan!" said The butcher.

"Repeat responsible a few times." said The bystander.

Sprig is starting to think what would they might do with these beasts, but then suddenly he got an idea.

"Polly, I just had a great idea. I am going to catch those beasts and save the town." Sprig suggested just as about to hop off, but Polly stops him in front.

"Stop right there! Hop Pop said that you had to stay in this cart. You know you can't take me!" Polly flexes her muscles.

"Oh, Polly. Look what I got?" Sprig took something out from his pocket and shows Polly some candies. She formed her hungrily grinned.

"Bribe accepted!" Polly smiled.

Sprig set the candies down before Polly jumps off from her bucket and starts to chomp on the candies. This gives him a chance go after the spirit after he jumps off to the forest where Wally burst out. Polly pops up from the wagon, seeing her brother runs off into the forest.

"Don't die!" Polly yells.

Somewhere in the deep forest, Sprig is running along in a forest. He search through the log, then he pops out of a log when finds a bug in his hair, and then eats it. His plan is to drive away the spirit to prove Hop Pop that he is fully responsible and then one day, he'll be everyone's true hero.

Sprig then readies a slingshot in order to be ready, but then he looks down to the ground to see a footprint that looked like a shoe print as he gasps. Perhaps that this must be the beast that Wally was talking about.

"Seems like the beast roams these parts. Probably a good place for a tra-aaAAAAHHH!"

He is caught in a rope trap and flies into the air, then falls back down. He's hanging upside down and groans. Sprig felt that he fell for a booby trap, but then heard some bush rustling.

"Hm?"

Just then when bush settled, the beast steps out from behind some bushes, and it's revealed to be a 13 year old human girl who is wearing her clothes, but dirtier with two leaves and a stick that was stuck on her hair. She is panting and holding a pointed stick looking like sweat and exhausted.

"Caught ya! Thought you got the best of ol' Anne, eh? Well, you didn't!" said Anne, as her name is confirmed.

Sprig's eyes were widen with horrifying reaction that this might be the one that Wally was talking about.

"Giant head! Spindly limbs! Face bump! THE BEEEEAASST!" Sprig screams.

Anne blinked her eyes and looked disbelief. She wasn't in the mood for all kind of nonsense.

"Stop following me." said Anne, sternly.

"I have bad news for you, beast! I taste terrible!" Sprig exclaimed in defiance.

"Ew, I am not gonna eat you." Anne cringed after setting the spear down.

"You tried to eat Wally!" Sprig accused.

"I tried to ask "Wally" for help. He ran off screaming the second he saw me!" Anne explained

"That does sound like Wally..." said Sprig, holding his chin.

Unbeknownst to them was that a large shadowy finger was approaching from behind, and when Sprig saw it, he gasped in fear. Anne turned around and gasped when she saw a giant green praying mantis coming front of the forest and was approaching them.

"It's coming back!" Anne whispers without having yelling.

"What is?" Sprig asked.

Without to reply, she picked up her spear and sped off, leaving Sprig behind upside down.

"Where you going?

The monster screeches as it got close, he swung back and forth to try and break free. Sprig flails about, screaming, then he starts to gnaw on the rope to free himself. Anne was running until she heard Sprig scream and looked back. As the mantis drew closer, her eyes widened when she saw that Sprig was still upside down.

Sprig had tried chewing the ropes to break free, but the monster had already reached him when the bush is rustled. Letting out a screech again when seeing its easy meal. He stopped chewing the rope and screamed.

Anne wanted to leave, but she didn't want to abandon the frog. Deciding that she wasn't going to let Sprig die because of her. With no other choice, she rush back towards him to cut the rope, then she drops the spear, grabs him and starts running.

"Whoop, here we go."

She ran through the forest with Sprig carrying in her arms until she slide down to duck and cover to the log to hide themselves from the monster. She covered his mouth to hush and peeked through the hole to see that the monster was actually a praying mantis, a giant red mantis passing by to search for its prey.

However, the giant mantis moves on and search for more. As the two of them sighed with relieved, Anne sits down while Sprig stands, but then realize that he's didn't get eaten. He looked up at her that she's not a big threat at all.

"You... you saved me! You're not a beast at all! You're a hero! An ugly, ugly, ugly hero!" Sprig smiles.

"Call me ugly again, and maybe I will eat you." Anne teases.

"Ha. You're not gonna eat me. You got a name, stranger?" Sprig asked.

"My name's Anne. Anne Boonchuy." She introduce herself.

"I'm Sprig Plantar! Put 'er there!" Sprig happily held out his hand to her.

"Uhh... okay..." Anne grabbed and shook his hand. However, when she pulled away, she cringed when seeing her hand had become covered in slime. "So... your hand just barfed on my hand."

Suddenly, they heard stomach growling that it came from Anne since she hasn't eat anything for over a week besides just fruit.

"Okay, "Sprig". You got anything to eat?" Anne asked.

"Sure do!" He lifts up a section of the log until he see bugs are crawling around underneath. He picks one up to offer her one, but felt uncomfortable with bugs. "Things that aren't bugs?"

"No bugs, eh?" He just ate a bug before he closes the section of the log. Then he had an idea. "We'll have to hunt around a bit. C'mon! Follow me!"

Sprig sped out from the log, but Anne stood when coming out of the log looking suspicious.

"How do I know I can trust you?" Anne aske skeptically.

Sprig stopped and turned back to her.

"Whaaat? Does this look like a face that could deceive you?" He asked, blinking his puppy eyes.

"Yeah, I guess not." Anne laughs looking convinced.

"Well, then, c'mon! Chow time!" He grabs her arm and sped off to find something to eat.

Back in Wartwood, Hop Pop was carrying some groceries right after he exited from Grub 'n' Go. But then he stops and staring at Mayor Toadstool are rallying up all the villagers like an angry mob with torches and pitchforks.

"Huh?" Hop Pop puzzled.

"Now, when I say "kill," you say "it." Kill!"

"It!

"Kill!"

"It!"

"Heh. Another day, another mob." Hop Pop marched towards the cart where Bessie was resting, just to check on his grandkids. "Come on kids, time to- What the?!"

He went shocked that Polly was bloated since she has eaten all of candies, but Sprig was not here. She perks up with her stubborn looks.

"I don't have a candy problem! You have a candy problem!" said Polly.

"Polly, where's Sprig?" Hop Pop asked when worries.

"Uh... something-something monster, something-something woods." Polly answered, but didn't catch a few details, but then they can hear some folks muttering.

"Oh, if your boy went into the woods, he's as good as eaten. That beast will devour everything in its path." said Wally.

"Not on my watch!" Hop Pop's instinct took over before grabs Polly and runs off to the forest to save his grandson. "Hang in there boy! Hop Pop's a-comin'!"

"You heard him, folks! It's down with the beast!" said Mayor Toadstool.

"YEAH!" The townsfolks shout as they rush to aid Hop Pop.

"Harvest the toenails for medicinal purposes!" said Wally.

Back to Anne where she's sitting and waiting for Sprig to bring some food until he brought back with a bucket that was filled with mushrooms and roots. Then he dumps all of the food he'd collected to the ground in front of her. Anne picked up a pink root carefully taking a bit of a bite, but then she smiles that it taste good.

"Hey, this is pretty good." said Anne when chewing.

"Mm-hmm." Sprig sounded knowing. "So, first question: What the heck are you, and where did you come from?!"

"I'm a human being and I come from..." Anne stood up and moved one arm over her head. "ANOTHER WORLD!"

Her shout has spread throughout the echoes, hoping that didn't get them attention.

"Either that, or this is a dream."

"Woooow..." Sprig said in awe at their awesome. "Do you know how you got here?"

Anne was gonna tell him everything, but she couldn't. How was she going to explain all of this since she stole the magical box that has stranded her and Frank to this frog world? It was not something that she like to bring up that much, or don't even know everything about that box or if her friends were teleported to the world with them. So, instead, she just answered when covering up.

"Nope. One minute, I was in my world and the next thing I knew I was here. I don't know how to get home or if I even can go home." She sat down next to him "So, yup, that's my story. How 'bout you? What were you doing in the woods?"

"Proving that I'm responsible!" Sprig responded in a heartbeat.

"Oh, yeah? How?" Anne asked.

"Uhhhhh..." Sprig blinked and just stood there for a moment, but then they heard a shout.

"There they are!" Yelled Wally after popping out of the bushes.

Suddenly, out of nowhere, Anne and Sprig were startled when standing up, but she was surrounded by an angry mob of frogs that were advancing towards them with pitchforks and torches. She has no place to go when being surrounded.

"Here come our boys!" said Mayor Toadstool.

"What? Stay away from me!" Anne back off, but the frogs jumps on her and knocking her down to the ground.

Then they start wrapping her up in tight layers of rope while she screams with fears as the villagers had tied her up and had her bounded to the ground. She tried breaking out of the ropes, but it was no good. The villagers cheers at they have captured her.

Mayor Toadstool was pleased to have her captured next to Toadie, Wally, Loggle, Croaker, Felicia, and Aldor that they were cheering as well. But Sprig felt that he really done something terrible, leading them to captured Anne who saved him.

"No! You guys got it all wrong!" Sprig jumps in for defense.

"Ha-ha! You caught the monster! Sprig, I'm impressed." Hop Pop shows up with Polly on his head.

"Dude, what the heck?! You set me up?! I thought we were connecting!" Anne looked at Sprig with a look of betrayal.

"N-no, no, no! This wasn't my plan," Sprig denied fervently.

Before he could finish, but then they quiet down to hear some bush is rustling until someone emerged from the bush that turns out to be another human, but a boy that is same ages as Anne. He's wearing his casual clothes, but dirtier and only walks on bare feet. He was holding his mantis scythe, looking shocked.

"ANNE!" Frank yells.

"FRANK!" Anne shocked.

"Oh, frog! There's two of them?!" Mayor Toadstool shocked.

"The beast must've called their pack!" Wally pointed his finger at them.

"GET 'EM!" One frog shouted as they about to take step closer, but Frank swipe his scythe for telling them to back away from the girl.

"STAY BACK!" Frank shouted.

"Wait, I thought you said you're all by yourself?!" Sprig looked confused.

"Wait, what?!" Frank turn his head at her when she nervously smiles. "Anne! What did you do?!"

"I didn't know that he could be trusted!" Anne exclaims.

"N-no! I would never do such things! Honest!" Sprig raise his hands up in defense.

Suddenly, there was a loud screech coming from the south and then out came was a giant green praying mantis. The townsfolks gasps and screams that terrifies at the mantis, but Mayor Toadstool knows that he could handle this situations.

"Hurry! Everyone! MANTIS FORMATION!" Mayor Toadstool quickly yelled.

Immediately, the townsfolk got into formation by climbing on top of one another, forming a pyramid of frogs alike that would have been bigger than must praying mantis. It took one look and then retreated back to the forest.

"We scared it off!" Hop Pop smiles.

"We have power!" The townsfolks gave a quick cheer, leaving the two humans dumbfounded.

But then, their celebration was interrupt when a larger, red praying mantis dropped down from the air. Closing its wings. They all looked shocked that it was much bigger than just another mantis.

"Nope. That scared it off." said Polly.

"Yeah, that makes more sense." Hop Pop added.

Then it happened, the red mantis screeched and used its front legs to hit a bunch of villagers off the top of the formation. Everyone started running away, screaming in random directions.

"IT'S GONNA EAT OUR GUTS!" Wally screams, with the large insect crawls closer to Anne as she struggles.

"NO!" She screamed, but then without a warning, Sprig just swipe the scythe from Frank and cutting off the restraints to set her free. Anne looked up that it was Sprig who was trying to cut her free.

"Huh? What is this, another trick?!" Anne asked skeptically.

But Sprig didn't have time the accusation when he finished cutting her free and jumped off of her as he handed his scythe back to Frank.

"I'll distract that thing. You get out of here!" said Sprig as he ran towards the red mantis with a war cry while pulling out an old slingshot from his back pocket. He grabbed a rock and loaded it.

Anne and Frank were staring at him fighting against the red mantis as he fired at it, but it didn't hurt before it could get angry.

"Hey! Ha-ha! Oops."

The red praying mantis shrieked and swing of one of its forelegs. Anne stood for a moment when she saw Sprig lied on the ground and to her horrified that the red mantis could strike the boy down. Sprig could only scream in terror, but instead when Frank blocked the attack with his mantis scythe. The mantis backed up a bit as the human boy started wildly swinging his weapon at it.

The townsfolks stops running and turns their attention at Frank fighting at the red mantis while Anne ran over to Sprig and picked him up, but disbelief that Frank risked his life to save the little pink frog. The red mantis swung at Frank, but he jumped forward, swing his scythe at one of the four legs as the red mantis screech in pain and turned its attention to Frank.

"What's he doing? Did you know he could fight like that?" Sprig asked.

"I...No." Anne replied.

The red mantis swung one of its legs at him, but Frank used the blade of his scythe to block it. Then jumped up and dodge when stabbing both of its legs at before he raised his scythe and was going to cut off the two limbs, but the red mantis retracted its legs, making him stab into the ground. Letting go of the weapon, he jumped back when the swung at him again.

With a war cry, Frank rushed at it, grabbed his scythe, and went for another one of the mantis' legs. Only for it to fly up, and then come back down to crush him. Luckily he rolled out of the way and jumped back with the insect swung at him again. But this time, it cut his right leg as scream in pain.

"Frank!" Anne screamed.

Just as the mantis raised its claw to strike him down, Anne set Sprig down and rushes towards it to grabs the Red Praying Mantis' arm grunting, thus saving Frank's life. Sprig couldn't believe that she just saved her own kind. Then she turns her heads back at Sprig while struggling to hold on.

"Do something!" Anne shouted, her eyes briefly flashed blue.

"Oh, right! On it." Sprig collected the rope and rushed at the insect. "Here we go."

With one of the two ends, he ran underneath it and then started hopping all around, over and under the mantis With Frank got back up, he kept its attention on them by swinging their weapons at it. It was only able to swing at them a few more times before Sprig was about to bind its front legs shut.

Once he was done, he landed on the ground and pulled as hard as he could, but failed to tie up the mantis when struggled to break free. Anne looked at the ground and saw the other end of the rope before she grabbed it and pulled with the rope tightened the mantis' limbs that were pulled closer to its body.

Seeing his chance, Frank ran around the end of the creature and jumped on its abdomen. The red mantis flicked it abdomen up, sending Frank flying up into the air. He looked down as saw he was falling towards the head of the mantis. as he held his mantis scythe with hands and fell towards with the wind rushed in his hair while his hat flew out.

Glaring at it with bare, teeth-gritting as his eyes flashed red, and then swung the scythe down before landing, stabbing the blade in the top of its head and out the bottom. Frank held on as the insect died and fell over on its ground with a loud thump. Shaking the ground under its weight for a second as green blood rain down onto the ground.

Frank panted, shocked by what he had done. What he and others were able to do together. He pulled the blade of the mantis scythe out of the mantis' head and jumped off it as he walked towards Anne and Sprig that were staring at him with wide eyes filled with shock and awe.

"Honestly, I'm just as shocked at you." said Frank with a smirked.

The frogs that had run off popped out of the bushes when they heard the red mantis was killed and stared at it in astonishment. They then started cheering for the beast's killing the red mantis.

"It's down!" Mayor Toadstool cheers.

"We did it!" Anne and Sprig said together with unison before she and Frank high-fived one another, something that they hadn't done in years before turning to Sprig and raising their hands.

"Up top!" Anne gave Sprig a high five, but instead with his own hands, Sprig high-fived Anne with his tongue, covering with his froggy saliva and grossing her out. "Oh, boy that's gross."

"Should've seen that coming." Frank murmured

The moment was only ruined when Mayor Toadstool walked up to them with his hands behind his back with Toadie and Wally walking next to him.

"Well, now that that's settled, what the heck are we gonna do with these things?" said Mayor Toadstool as as the townsfolk followed behind him with their pitchforks and torches. "Maybe we oughta run 'em out of town just to be safe. Let 'em be someone else's problem."

"Are you kidding me?! We just saved you guys!" Frank stepped forward with an angry expression.

"He's right!" Sprig shouted, running up to block the two humans from the villagers. Holding his arms out from his sides as he gave the frogs a firm scowl. "They're not a monster. They're just lost and need our help. We should take care of them."

The human teens looked at the little frog with surprised expressions. Anne hadn't known him for an hour, but he was still willing to stand up and protect them both. This made them smiles, feeling grateful that he was with them.

"Are you crazy?!" Mayor Toadstool asked with expression.

"Yeah. What if it goes nutty tomorrow and starts eating people?" Wally added when scared.

"Not gonna happen, buddy." said Anne.

Hop Pop came to his grandson's side with his hands up, but Polly looked weary at the humans.

"Don't worry yourselves silly. I'll keep an eye on 'em, all of 'em." said Hop Pop, referring to the kids as he placed his hand around Sprig's shoulder.

Mayor Toadstool took a moment. He really wanted to get rid of those two out of town because of he fears that they would try to attack them. As long as Hopediah's farm was far enough away from Wartwood, then these creatures wouldn't cause any trouble for anyone.

"Hmm. Have it your way, Hopediah Plantar, but I don't like it." said Mayor Toadstool before turning to the villagers. "All right boys pack it in."

This dissatisfied the frogs that were really looking forward to running something like the humans out of town, but there's nothing that they could do but going back to their boring lives. Some of the frogs grabbed the rope around the dead mantis and started pulling it back with them to town for dinner, while Toadstool, Toadie, and Wally behind.

"Boo. This thing tastes real good with butter." muttered One of the Villagers.

The only amphibians that were carefully considerations are Felicia, Croaker, Loggle, and Aldor when they have to agree with Hop Pop to make sure of it and then follows the villagers behind without a word. That leaves the Planters with the human kids. Sprig sighed sadly, then turning to look at Hop Pop, and got ready to given a scolding about how irresponsible he was.

"Looks like I'm back to causing trouble for the family again, huh?" Sprig asked when nervous.

"Trouble? Sprig, standing up to that angry mob to help these creatures out was... Some of the bravest and most responsible stuff I've ever seen!" said Hop Pop as he smiles.

"That was pretty cool, Sprig!" said Polly while atop Hop Pop's head. "It was also really dumb!"

"Yes. Really, really dumb."

"You think I'm responsible?" Sprig gasped in amazement.

"Well, yeah, I mean, just this one time." replied Hop Pop when trying to make him understand.

"Yes! Woo hoo!" Sprig cheers before he starts to perform a victory dance.

Frank and Anne shared a glance, feeling that they're just the third wheel in this conversation, they checked their phones to see if they could get a signal. Unfortunately, there's still no signal.

"Well, don't get carried away." Hop Pop continues.

"Big win!" Sprig chimes.

"Welp, this has been great, but just give me a map. We've gotta find our way out of this kooky place." said Anne.

"Oh, a map won't be enough." Hop Pop get out a map from his coat and opened it. Showing it to the humans that the valley they were in and it shows the mountains that surrounded it. "This here valley is surrounded by mountains that are impenetrable this time of year."

"It should clear up in a couple of months." Sprig added.

"When you say a couple of months, do you mean two months or more than two months?" Frank asked, twitching his eyes..

"Two." Hop Pop answered. "But until then, you try to cross those mountains-"

"You will die." Polly finished.

"Oh, that's just great! That's just really great, man!" Frank yells, throwing down his mantis scythe into the ground. "What're we going to do now, man!? Where are we going to stay?! Where are we going to sleep?!"

Later that evening when the solution was quite simple. The human teenagers were invited back to live with the Plantars back at their little farm after Anne went to go and pick up her backpack. The Plantar farm consisted of a housing unit surrounded by fields and a little shed where tools are placed.

The house was made from the stump of a tree as is the case for many houses in Wartwood. There was a small yellow wooden front door and a circular window beside it. A bio-luminescent mushroom had also been implanted beside the door acting as the light of the front porch.

The house appeared to have three floors and had a red wooden roof with a large branch protruding from the side. Moss and grass are also seen prominently growing throughout the exterior of the house. There was also a small wooden chimney set atop the third floor's roof. The back porch also had access to a lake.

Hop Pop took Anne and Frank down to the basement and turned on the light, reveal that space was made of stone walls and lighted by bio-luminescent mushrooms. There is a small hatch located in front of the main door and wooden staircase leading to the basement.

"All righty. The kitchen's upstairs. Breakfast at sunrise, sharp. Also, just so you know, we're a farming family and if you're going to be staying on this farm, then you're working for us." said Hop Pop.

"I guess I can work with that." said Frank.

"Yeah, thanks dude." Anne added as Hop Pop left the basement to let the kids get comfortable. Then suddenly, Polly oversees as her shadow looms over them when Anne startled a bit.

"Hop Pop and Sprig may be soft, but I'm not convinced about you." said Polly looking suspicious before crawling backwards away from the basement. They felt a bit of creeped out from Polly.

"Okay? Creepy stuff." Anne mumbled.

They looked around their new living conditions as they held sleeping bags that they were given by the Plantars. There were a few boxes here and there and some fungus sticking out of the wall, but it was overall empty and gave them enough space to set themselves up for the night, and possibly for two very long months. Frank walked over to one side of the room as Anne over to another.

"I guess this is the closest thing to a home we'll be having, huh?" said Frank.

"Yep." Anne said as they rolled out their sleeping mats on the floor.

Then there was then a knock from the behind them. They turned their heads and saw Sprig coming in from a cellar door with a bunch of old plushies in hand.

"Hey! Gettin' comfy?" Sprig asked before tossing some plushies on the ground. "Brought some toys to keep you company. I'm too old for these."

Sprig picked up one of the plushies and held it out to the teenagers. But when he looked at his toy again, he suddenly started to change his mind.

"O-oh, except for this one. Oh, and this one. Oops. this one too. Sorry. This one as well."

They're smiling as Sprig ended up picking every single toy up and holding them in his arms.

"I'm glad you're livin' with us, monsters." said Sprig.

"Yeah, us too, weird little frog boy," Anne said.

"Okay," Sprig said before starting to climb out of the basement. Accidentally dropping one of his toys as he left. He then stuck his head back in. "Good night. Sleep tight. Don't let the bed bugs bite. Seriously, they can drain a body in seconds."

"Ew!" Frank grabbed his mantis scythe and handed it to Anne. "You might want to sleep with this."

"He was joking right?" Sasha asked.

"Maybe?" Frank shrugged.

Then he looked at the toy that Sprig dropped and walked over to it. He picked it up, squeezing it light that made it squeak. He smiled at it. But then, he heard the sound of a zipper opening and turned around to see Anne reaching into her backpack.

"What are you doing?" Frank asked.

"I'm going to give this one last try." Anne told him before bringing out the box. It was wrapped up in a piece of cloth from getting damaged while on their journey.

"But Anne, we've tried every night since coming here and it hasn't worked," Frank frowned, walking over to sit on his sleeping bag.

"Maybe it'll work this time." Anne suggested. "Come on, come on!"

She was expecting some flashing lights, and interdimensional magic to take them back home and to finally end this nightmare, but nothing happened. It was just another old music box. She then closed and opened it three times more and sighed in disappointment.

"Looks like we're gonna be here for a while." said Anne before putting the box back in her bag.

"(sighs) I thought so. Let's get some rest." Frank suggested as he laid down on the sleeping bag after taking off his hat.

"Goodnight, Frank." said Anne.

"Goodnight, Anne." replied Frank, before he drifted into sleep.

For Anne however, she couldn't help but thinking about most of her friends that went separated after zapping them all here to there. She sighed before she went to sleep after wrapping herself in sheet. Right now, it was only just for the two of them, living in a frog world.

And that's the story for which you may know. Before you jump to conclusions, I copied the project where I saved on my files and then edited to something different before I published. No need to point fingers at me because I'm trying not to anger anyone for what I've been doing.

As for the reviewers that I'm unfamiliar with, please refrained your comments because I don't do free requests anymore. I'm a very busy man and I have plans up ahead in the future. Hope you enjoyed reading and I'll be seeing ya real soon!
